Really appreciate the work, all. Definitely making for a more varied gameplay. Question: is there going to be one definitive list that is compiled (ala fifa10)?Comment

For myself, I might end up assigning them randomly except for the very few I know.Comment

Re: Official FIFA 12 Custom Team Tactics Thread
Got about 6 games in with various teams on Legendary/Kreb's sliders and these CTTs for the Prem only so far.
My early verdict is that the CPU still pings the ball around around a lot. And their passes are either perfect or straight to me. There aren't enough turovers caused by poor first touches.
The CPU seems to want to play the ball on the ground all the time and get it to the top of the box. Not nearly enough cross attempts. I'm away for a few days starting tomorrow, but tonight I might play around with upping the crossing and shooting to 100 on one of these tactics just to see what the highest extreme we have is.
Those gripes aside, this game does play great on these settings. I had all variety of matches. A couple wins, a couple draws, and a couple losses. I started a Norwich CM as a manager because I haven't checked out the transfer screens and scouting yet. Played two games with them and got a nice draw 1-1 against Wigan, but then got thrashed 4-1 by Stoke after getting a man sent off.Last edited by ImTellinTim; 10-06-2011, 10:13 AM.Comment

One thing I'm noticing as I'm now in CM, it seems that there is always one person for the AI that runs around with the ball like crazy and won't pass. Really weird. Always the same guy.Comment

Check the player traits/tendancies. I find that they really make a difference in how a player plays.Comment

Re: Official FIFA 12 Custom Team Tactics Thread
In all the testing I did against Stoke, crossing and shooting at 100 didn't have too much of an effect. It has one, but sadly not like we would like.

For me, it was a lot easier to try and accurately depict the Spanish leagues as it seems the game is programmed to play slow-building, possession 'tiki-taka' football by default. One possible workaround may be to lower the game difficulty to World Class so the CPU opponent isn't as paranoid about losing possession. Not sure if this would work as I'm yet to try it, just an idea I had while reading your post. Pretty sure the game would suffer in other aspects though, none more-so than being too easy. Plus the long range efforts would probably all but disappear. No idea how we could compensate for any of that.Comment

Re: Official FIFA 12 Custom Team Tactics Thread
It would be nice to be able to assign more specific roles to the players. Like "holding midfielder or box-to-box" "target man or poacher".Comment

Re: Official FIFA 12 Custom Team Tactics Thread
Which gets me to thinking. We have another level at our disposal with these where you can set the general mentality of the players and direct their runs to certain areas of the pitch.
For a crossing team, would it help to point their runs more to the outside? Can midfielders be set to be more defensive to slow certain teams down? It's something that I'll be taking a look at eventually.Comment

Re: Official FIFA 12 Custom Team Tactics Thread
First, and to answer your question, I can only assume Kreb would want to test the set himself before finalizing it into the index, fully understandable as at the end of the day this is his thread and his project. I'm not here to hijack anything haha. Just said I'd help out where I thought I might be able to.
Secondly, I've just updated said Man City set in my earlier post. Although they play a very unique style of football IRL, I found them to play a little *too* differently from the rest of the Prem teams with the initial version I posted. Almost like they belonged in the Italian leagues! Feel free to keep using the old set or update to the ones I'm currently using, your call. You could always use the old one as a generic Italian set should you play any Italian teams in cup competitions etc. I might get down to making some more definitive Italian CTT's for the top clubs unless anyone else wants to give it a go? Let me know.Comment

Re: Official FIFA 12 Custom Team Tactics Thread
I just applied these formation settings to Stoke and it was pretty nice. I beat them 1-0 with Fulham with a goal in the 83rd. They crossed the ball 9 times and had 4 corners, which was nice to see.
This is set in the formation screen by pressing Square to Edit.
Full backs: Default
Center backs: Offense work rate to Low
RM: Offense player positioning to lower-right arrow
RCM: Offense work rate to Low, Defense work rate to High
LCM: Default
LM: Defense work rate to High, Offense player positioning to upper-right arrow
CF: Offense work rate to Average, Defense work rate to High
Striker: Default
Where I don't mention a setting, leave it at the default.Comment
