What's up everyone. Yet another year of FIFA is upon us so it's time for us all to get those CM's going. I considered just using the FIFA 13 CM thread but I felt FIFA 14, with it's improvements, deserves it's own thread.

That being said, I expect some great stories this year so let's get it poppin'. Sound off and let us know how your FIFA 14 CM is going!

Can't wait to get started. Stil debating on which team to pick. I like to build up a team from the lowest tier in the English system.

Here's who I used in the past three games:

2011: Bury
2012: Plymouth Argyle
2013: York City

Any suggestions? Really all I care about are decent-looking kits

haha, we have precisely the same criteria...I loved last year's Nottingham Forest kits, but their away kit this year leaves a lot to be desired. We'll see. Maybe grey tops and grey bottoms will grow on me? They look a bit silly.

Ha, same here. I go for kits. Last year I used Wycombe, sweet kits imo. For this year I will try and get Portsmouth back into the Prem. Should be challenging.

So far it seems we have a group of superficial FIFA-style whores and I'm guilty of it as well

I'll try one or two League 2 teams while I get used to the gameplay but once I am and I've got sliders and CCT's dialed in, PFC will be my first serious one.

Ill probably be playing as Liverpool to start off and get a feel for the game and CM, but I see myself looking to promote someone from the championship at some point.


Im also interested in doing an Italian CM as my most favorite CM of all time was in Serie A.

I love Serie A, there's just something about Italian football that just seems right. Other than Liverpool and Sheffield Wednesday, the only other club I support is Roma, who BTW finally beat Lazio this weekend!

I'm really anxious to start a manager career early on this year and stick with it to get the most out of the beefed up CM. I usually fool around with pro clubs, play some friends in 1v1, and dither over what to team to use until winter comes around. But not this year... I'm switching over to PS3, which means no pesky friends to distract me from my managerial duties. Now I can skip straight to the dithering.

I'm leaning towards Sevilla in La Liga, as I have an affinity for the city (spent my first few days in Spain there) and the club checks most of the right boxes. They are a traditionally competitive club, yet aren't in the best shape this year having sold three of their best (Negredo, Navas, Kondogbia). I kind of like that aspect, since I'll need to develop my system & squad more organically, rather than accommodating a few stars players. Although Kondogbia is exactly the kind of player I want playing in the pivot... oh well.

I'm not 100% sold on La Liga due to Madrid/Barca dynamic, but there are a host of solid clubs in the next tier and the games against the big boys will be a <strike>slaughter</strike> challenge. The style & pace of play should be less frantic due to the team tactics and perhaps the biggest perk, the Spanish referees tend to be among the strictest.

So yeah, I think I talked myself into using Sevilla. Although... the kits aren't anything to write home about.

The issue of kits is driving me crazy. That's the one thing I miss and love about playing FIFA on a PC is the ability to customize kits.

Just picked up FIFA 14 on PC. Going to start my manager career with Man Untied. I havent done much yet as I still need to look at the squad and see who fits and who doesnt. I do know that we will run a 4-2-4 formation. Mid field will be a CDM and CAM. Strikers will be LW/RW/LS/RS. and Defense will be RB/LB/RCB/LCB.

I dont know which team to pick? I want a challenge but maybe a top league top or maybe a good 2nd tier with a healthy budget. Im thinking AC Monaco might be fun..
