    Season 1

    Club in Crisis

    September 2016

    Cambridge United 0 - 1 Blackpool FC
    BLP - Daniel 24'
    MOTM: Daniel

This was an evenly matched affair, and it came down to who could take advantage of their chances the best. Cambridge took the majority of their shots from distance, while we tried to work our way closer to the goal. Our strategy paid off in the 24th minute when Yeates played Daniel through on the left and he placed it nicely across the goal and into the bottom right corner. Cambridge had the majority of the chances the rest of the way, but the goal held up to be the winner.

    Blackpool FC 0 - 1 Notts County
    NOT - Dickinson 37'
    MOTM: Dickinson

We deserved so much more out of this, and yet we ended up dropping all 3 points. It was a stupid mistake and poor communication that led to their goal. Aldred got to the ball in our own box and he had Cain open to initiate the counter, but instead of moving forward to attack, Cain dropped back and that resulted in a poor pass getting picked up by Notts and they sent it straight in to Dickinson in front of goal and he finished on the near post. None of our shots were good enough to pull it back, but we got close a few times. It was a frustrating loss to say the least.

    Morecambe FC 0 - 1 Blackpool FC
    BLP - Daniel 44'
    MOTM: Pugh

Our defense was outstanding and we allowed Morecambe to only get off 2 shots throughout the entire match, neither of which were on target. Our attack was firing and even though we finished with just a single goal, we could have arguably had 4 in the first half alone. The deciding goal came just before the break with Pugh playing Daniel into space on the left side of the box and he took a touch out wide and used his left foot to direct it back across the goal and inside the far post.

    Blackpool FC 2 - 0 Cheltenham Town
    BLP - Elliott 20', 45'
    MOTM: Payne

A good win and a solid performance on both sides of the ball. Cheltenham has a few chances of their own, but we were able to limit their danger and keep them out of our goal. Elliott on the other hand showed exactly why we brought him in grabbing two goals on the day. His first came with Payne playing them ball to him at the top of the box and he used a great first touch to turn towards goal around the defender and finish low past the keeper. He then completed his brace after Potts crossed it in and his initial shot was saved, but he kept after it and was able to knock in the second effort.

    Colchester United 0 - 0 Blackpool FC
    MOTM: Payne

We were absolutely the better team, but we kept missing sitters and it's hard to win when you are shooting yourself in the foot. We especially should have won it with one of our few golden chances at the end of the game, and yet we either sent it wide or the keeper was up to the challenge. The only positive was that this made 3 straight matches now that we've kept a clean sheet in.

      Notts County September 2018 Update.

September came in and The Magpies are staring down the barrel of uncertainty. Sitting near the bottom of the league we had to dig deep. In league play we were able to get three straight wins to help us move to 12th in the league. The run lasted until we played QPR, we had The Rangers beat, but stormed from their 2-0 deficit to draw in the closing moments.

In EPL action we faced off against Bournemouth, I tell you this team has been a thorn in my side for three seasons at Notts. they once again eliminated us from the EPL Cup.

        Notts County October Update.

The injuries are mounting up and this month was very woeful to us. We were sitting at about 15th in the league, but the bottom has fallen. Our play this month set us back to 20th in the league. We are desperate need of a couple of victories.

John Akinde's rehab is ahead of schedule so it looks promising that he will soon make his season debut.

On a side we have about six YA graduates that have showed tremendous poise in trying to right the ship. Nut they are just up against some tough competition. So we will see how we will close out 2018.

Also, I got lucky with Kastanos.

He's really at Pescara on loan from Juventus, but the game has him as a Pescara player solely. 84 potential.

                Swansea 0-0 Hull

                MotM: Borja Baston

A very frustrating game where Hull came to defend and defend in numbers. On the rare occasions we got through the bus, McGregor was equal to any shots.

                Barnsley 2-3 Swansea
                21' (Pen) 36' Armstrong

Mawson headed the ball down for Barrow on the edge of the box and the winger sent a piledriver into the top left corner. However a penalty and header from Armstrong gave the home side the lead at the break. A brace from debutant Dolberg ensured we came away with the win in the dying minutes.

                August 27, Match 3

                36' 45+3' (Pen) Sigurdsson

                MotM: Gylfi Sigurdsson

We bossed last season's champions on their own pitch. Sigurdsson bagged both goals towards the end of the first half to give us our deserved lead and ultimately victory.

Modou Barrow will miss 9 days after bruising his rib in training.

                  Notts County November 2018 Update

After struggling mightily in October and falling to 20th in the table November didn't start out much better. The first three matches of the month was 2 losses and one draw. The last match of the month finally saw get three points for a victory.

Would this win turn things around only December will tell.

                    Notts County December 2018 Update.

Coming into December Notts had trouble drawing matches let alone winning. This month would be crucial because there were seven league matches. Was that victory in November a sign of things to come or just false hope.

The squad started putting things together with another win. The squad would go and win all seven matches. Gaining some huge momentum that would put them in fourth in the league table.

With the team gaining so much much momentum we will see how that carries into January.

                                I'll go for Vincent Koziello.

I think you could increase the points keepers and defenders get for goals, with goalies getting something like a 100 points for a goal. Another thing you could add is a point deduction system, where every yellow card results in -3 points, and every sending off in -5 points.
