Awesome job Texasbum! Not only winning the league with a game left but also having a 52 GD. Wow.

Any transfer plans to strengthen the squad for next season?

Thank you! Boscagli coming in really boosted our goal scoring and he won the golden boot for the league with his big performances in the last month to edge out Dybala. At £20M I'd say he was a bargain!

I've got a few plans, and depending on if I get any huge offers for some players I may go with a massive signing. I won't say much more just yet, but the one I can say is that Tousart is coming in on a pre-contract from January and he should slot into our first choice holding midfield spot.

I want to achieve a double at least this year, so I fee like I need at least a couple of more pieces to be able to get that done.

It should be a busy transfer window either way

CM, Lucas Tousart, France, 26 years old, 83 OVR - Pre-Contract agreement from OL-Lyon

        August 2023

        Community Shield
        Chelsea FC 1 - 2 Grimsby Town
        CHE - Neves 40'
        GRI - Dembele 45', Kelly 88'
        MOTM: Sidibe

It's great to start off the new season with a win and to bring home some silverware in the process. We fell behind first when Neves smashed a first time shot from outside of the box into the top left corner to give Chelsea the lead. But we had equalized before the half was over when Sidibe crossed it into the middle and Dembele rose up to head it past their keeper. Then after slugging it out for most of the second half, we cleared a corner up ahead and Kelly was able to chase it down and hold off the defender as he went into their box and finished into the bottom left corner.

        Chelsea FC 0 - 3 Grimsby Town
        GRI - Kamada 68', Burke 82', 88'
        MOTM: Burke

Burke made a dream debut today, accounting for all 3 goals on the day. After a scoreless first half, we finally got the breakthrough when Burke played Kamada into space on the right and he was able to place it back across the goal to the far post. Then Harris set up Burke for one of his own as he was able to place it around the keeper to the left side of the goal. It was only a few minutes later that he got his second as Boscagli played him the ball on the back post and he had an easy tap in to complete his brace.

        Grimsby Town 3 - 0 Sunderland AFC
        GRI - Boscagli 66' (PEN), 84', Tousart 90'
        MOTM: Boscagli

We struggled to find anything in the attack as we kept sending shot after shot wide of the post. Then in the second half Kone slid through our player while we were through on goal and he was shown a red and the referee pointed to the spot. Boscagli converted it, and with the man advantage we turned the game around completely. Boscagli added a second after Morris played him around the left and he chipped it over the keeper as he tried to rush out to claim it. Then in the final minute Tousart got himself involved as Vieira played him the ball as he overlapped on the right and then placed it across to the far post.

        EFL Cup
        Burton Albion 3 - 1 Grimsby Town
        BUR - Palmer 5' Dudley 45', Myklebust 90'
        GRI - Harris 65'
        MOTM: Palmer

Our first slip of the season, and our reserves failed to get the job done against a lower division opponent, ending our defense of the EFL Trophy. It was almost instant and we fell behind after Palmer pushed our player out of the way as he made his run in and that gave him the space to receive the ball and then fire it past our keeper. Then just before the half we conceded again as a cross went into the box and Robinson fell asleep and let Dudley run right past him to volley it into the back of the net. We pulled one back to give us hope as Harris got the ball from Morris and turned into the box and took advantage of some bad goal keeping and slotted it just under his reach to the left side of the goal. But as we were pushing for an equalizer in the final minute we left ourselves open in the back and Myklebust was able to get through and finish easily past our keeper just before the final whistle.

        Stoke City 0 - 1 Grimsby Town
        GRI - Dembele 74'
        MOTM: Morrison

Back to winning ways, even if just barely. Still, its a game away from home and we took all 3 points. We struggled to break them down for the majority of the match but finally in the second half Morrison was able to play the ball to Dembele and he rushed around the right side of the defense to get a look at goal and he fired it across to the far post for the deciding goal.

Yes Tex! Congrats on the second title. Boscagli was immense and no doubt a great signing. You've started the season well aside from the little blip in the EFL Cup. I like the signings you made. Any reason for selling Kessie

Thanks! Kessie had actually asked to leave before last season, but I was able to get him to stay for another year and probably could have kept him for the long run still if I wanted. But I had ended up finding Tousart to bring in on a pre-contract so I decided I would part with Kessie and move on. I preferred to go forward with Tousart over him since I wanted more of a true defensive midfielder to help cover for my defense. I didn't feel like I needed to keep Kessie for depth either since Vieira and Morris were both ready to take on more time if necessary.

                Season 8

                The Mariners

                September 2023

                Grimsby Town 3 - 2 Leicester City
                GRI - Kelly 45', 67, 90'
                LEI - Kramric 49', Schlupp 64'
                MOTM: Kelly

Kelly recorded his first senior hat-trick, and we needed every last one of those goals to take the win. We opened the scoring just before the break when Harris played Kelly through on the right and he placed the ball around the keeper into the bottom left corner. On the other side of the break it didn't take them long to equalized after Thomas saved a shot but Kramric was there to claim it in the middle and fire it back into the goal. They then took the lead after Rashford crossed it into the box and Schlupp met it on the near post to head it past our keeper. We equalized just minutes later though with Wright playing Kelly into space on the right and he fired it across the goal to the far post. Then in the very last minute we got Wolf running free down the left and he was able to play it across the box to Kelly to hit first time to the left of the keeper for the winner.

                Champion's League Group Stage
                Grimsby Town 1 - 0 Borussia Dortmund
                GRI - Mvogo 26' (OG)
                MOTM: Burke

This was an odd game, but the win is important. Our goal came after Burke had his legs taken out from under him in the box and the referee pointed to the spot. Boscagli stepped up and he powered his shot off the left post and it then went sideways, off the keeper, and then in. We had a few more chances to extend the lead, but we took our chances rather poorly. The downside was that we lost Burke to injury, hopefully it won't be too long of an absence.

                West Brom 2 - 3 Grimsby Town
                WBA - Rondon 30', Roberts 74'
                GRI - Boscagli 54' (PEN), Kelly 63', Dembele 82'
                MOTM: Dembele

This was a more challenging match than we were expecting, but luckily we were able to do enough to get the win. They took the lead first with Rondon heading home a cross on the back post that our keeper was helpless to stop. In the second half Caldirola took out Kelly as he tried to get space on the right side of the box, and Boscagli was on hand to convert from the spot to even it up. We then got the lead as Dembele pushed the ball forward on a counter and was able to thread it through to Kelly on the right and he hit it first time with a low shot into the bottom left corner. But West Brom equalized with a great bit of play as the ball was cross to the back post and then volleyed back across again to Roberts on the back post for the easy tap in. We were able to get it done though and Morris played it in to Dembele with his back to goal and he made a fantastic turn to get around the defender and then powered his shot past the keeper to win it for us.

                Grimsby Town 2 - 1 Liverpool FC
                GRI - Dembele 39', 78'
                LIV - Stewart 29'
                MOTM: Dembele

Dembele is in fine form to start this season, and he continued that today. Liverpool took the lead first as Stewart timed his run perfectly to go past his defender and get on the end of a cross to volley it past the keeper on the near post. It only took 10 minutes for us to equalize though as Paterson played Dembele down the right and he took his shot early and placed it perfectly across to the bottom left corner. Then in the second half Harris went on a run down the right with the ball and he fired his shot at goal but it was pushed away by the keeper to the middle where Dembele was running in for the first time strike into the top left corner.

                Champion's League Group Stage
                Grimsby Town 2 - 1 Real Madrid
                GRI - Morrison 61', Wolf 81'
                RMA - Morata 25'
                MOTM: Boscagli

Real Madrid is about the toughest test we can get, and this win moved us to the top of the group through 2 games. Real took the lead in the first half after a series of clearances, blocks and saves, finally ended up with the ball in the net as Morata got it in the middle and was able to find a window to place it through. It took us until the second half, but we found an equalizer when Boscagli played the ball off to Morrison on the left and he fired it back across the goal to the far post. Then we grabbed the winner late with Dembele feeding it to Wolf coming in on the right and he took a touch to line it up on his stronger left foot and then placed it perfectly into the bottom left corner.

                Newcastle United 0 - 6 Grimsby Town
                GRI - Lazaar 29' (OG), Kelly 45', 66', 71', Harris 59', Morris 81'
                MOTM: Kelly

A stunning display from our reserves, and Kelly was phenomenal tonight getting a hat-trick and bringing his Premier League tally for the season so far up to an impressive 7 goals. The first goal came from Wolf getting space on the left and sending the ball into the middle where Harris was fighting with Lazaar for position to get to the ball and forced him to bundle it into his own net. Then right before the half Morris was able to hold the ball up in the middle and play it to Kelly on the right and he fired it across to the far post. Harris was the next to score after Wolf's shot was deflected up into the air and he rose above everyone else to head it into the back of the net. Kelly then got his second of the night after Harris flicked the ball on with a back heel to him on the right and he stopped it to draw the keeper out and then placed it around him to the left. Kelly completed his hat-trick after Harris tried to thread him a ball into the middle and the defender deflected it, but Kelly kept up his pursuit and won the ball to slot it past the keeper on the near post. The final goal of the night came from Morris curling in a stunning free kick from the top right of the box into the top right corner of the goal.

                  Leya Iseka 63' (Potter)

Aaron Leya Iseka scored a brace to lead The Exiles' B-squad to a win at Rodney Parade in their first activity in the F.A. Cup this season. Newport County's second unit looked lively, shooting 11 times (7 on target).

This goal line save by Ron Vlaar proved to be critical to the outcome of the game.

The Exiles were able to break through Tony Pulis' tight defense this time around thanks to a scoring burst in the last 20 minutes of the game. Unfortunately for Marccelino he'll have to plan a couple of games without his skipper who suffered an ankle injury.

An early connection between Clark Gordon and Breel Donald Embolo turned out to be all The Exiles needed on this day as Hull City failed to stay on target for most of the day. The home side created a good number of scoring opportunities (10 shots) but only two of their shots were on goal and neither was able to equalize the score.

                  Martella 31' (Moore)

                  Park Il Kwon 69'
                  Ince 31'

The Exiles' B-squad, with some new faces, did not have much problem taking care of League 1's Coventry City to help Newport County move on in the F.A. Cup. Moses Odubajo has been officially demoted after repeatedly refusing to sign a contract extension and that opened the door for academy-graduate Willem Van Hout to get the start a LB (with Elmir Nabiullin moving to RB). Van Hout didn't take long to score an exquisite long-range goal that got Marccelino's side on the right track. Super prospect Daniele Martella also got to score his first goal as a pro.

Jefferson Farfán returned from injury to put on yet another outstanding performance that continues to make everyone wonder why he'd retire after this season. The skipper and Ringdal Støvland showed tremendous savvy late in the game as Farfán executed a long free kick low and grounded towards RS who beat his defender on a turn-around move to fire a powerful crossing shot for the game-winning goal.

Analysis: There's still a lot of work to be done but for at least one month The Exiles were able to shorten Man City's lead at the top of the table by three points thanks to an undefeated (3-1-0) January. In a broader perspective, Newport County is still nine points behind in second place and closer to sixth place Chelsea than they are to MCFC. Nevertheless, Marccelino's squad enjoyed a very successful beginning to 2022 as they also won a couple of games in the F.A. Cup as they look to make a deep run in it. Their B-squad has done an excellent job of showing the team's depth is legit and full of exciting talent, especially their extensive list of academy graduates.

As far as the transfer window is concerned, Newport County made some sudden moves thanks to a comfortable transfer budget, a telling sign that the club is now an established BPL team. There appears to be no indication as to whether Farfán will carry on with his inclination to retire at season's end but the club's decision to sign Xherdan Shaqiri for an arrival this summer suggests The Exiles are preparing for life without their current skipper. Shaqiri would have big shoes to fill but the Swiss star possesses the capability to become another impact player for the club. Of more immediate significance was Newport County's decision to part ways with their lone Welsh player. Joe Allen was serving as Gordon's relief at CAM but the club has one of the best young players in the game in Martella ready for more playing time and this was a transition that was ready to take place. The club can also account on fellow academy graduate Andrea De Girolamo to provide further depth at this position, finally providing the Italian prospect with an extended opportunity to contribute to the club after several loan spells. Marccelino's roster took a bit of a hit at CB with the sales of Vegas and Nagatsuka but they have two bonafide starters at those positions and still solid depth behind then in Lapslie/Hunt/Maguire, with Márcio Souza also projecting as more of a central defender. Finally, Newport County had to turn to a questionable deal with Derby County for Ssewankambo after failing to nail down several sale opportunities for Odubajo. This move makes it very clear that the club wanted Odubajo off their roster no matter what, which makes it more baffling that they failed to agree to several offers for the English fullback (asking for too much in counter demands).

                  The Academy
(listed by their ranking in it)

RB - Ohon Aduamah (60 OVR, 85-94): 15-year old from Cameroon oozing tons of talent and potential at a very early age. Described as physically strong, Aduamah displays excellent aggression (82) and strength (77) to go with the jumping (75) and stamina (75) of a play-time ready prospect. He seems to have sufficient pace to play the position.

RB - Tony Turner (57 OVR, 83-93): 17-year old Yankee standing at 5'10", 154 lbs. Turner possesses excellent agility (77) but isn't too developed as a defender which is where his training will focus right off the bat.

RB - Ohon Ankrah (56 OVR, 82-94): 16-year old prospect from Cameroon who is more of a well-rounded prospect at this point in time. Ankrah is defensive minded and physical enough for the position, currently standing at 5'7" and 154lbs.

CDM - Pierre Tägtström (61 OVR, 83-89): Now a 17-year old from Sweden who is next in a great lineup of defensive midfielders developed by the club since Marccelino's arrival. Described as physically strong, Tägtström's exciting potential is undeniable and he displays eye-popping aggressiveness (91) towards the ball. He stands at 6'2" and 172lbs and has put in enough time in the academy that he should get promoted sooner than later.

CAM - Jason Lavery (53 OVR, 76-94): 17-year old prospect from Northern Ireland described as a playmaker. The lefty Lavery stands at 5'9" and 143lbs is considered the next big prospect at his position.

CAM - Matt Lampson (49 OVR, 79-93): 16-year old prospect from the United States whose pace (73acc/72spd) is his most notable asset. Lampson is a raw prospect and will need to work hard in the academy.

CM - Abraham Lamptey (52 OVR, 76-90): 17-year old prospect from Cameroon who is defensive minded. Lamptey checks in at 6'1" and 169lbs and although he projects as an all-around midfielder his physical look make him a CDM prospect in The Exiles' diamond.

LM - Collin Taylor (56 OVR 77-85): 16-year old American prospect described as a playmaker. His most outstanding skill is his agility (75) which is noticeably better than any other skill he has at the moment.

LW - Andre Domingues (59 OVR, 77-83): 16-year old from Portugal who is starting to lose the rawness of his game and slowly creeping towards his great potential. His top attribute continues to be his pace (75acc/71spd), although his agility (73) and balance (71) are also notable.

CM - Dean McKay (48 OVR, 70-84): 15-year old prospect from Northern Ireland identified as a playmaker. McKay is very raw but even with that he shows outstanding agility (73) which should come in handy for his position.

GK - Aaron Keegan (49 OVR, 71-79): 15-year old American prospect who projects as more of a backup after showing a higher potential on the scout's report.
                  * Recent addition

Kwame Mayat (ST, 61 OVR) was promoted to the senior roster after turning 18 years old. He has potential to be special and he has coaches and fans buzzing with the way he has performed in training so far. The Exiles were handed difficult news when their top prospect, Tobias Perez (RM, 66 OVR), decided to leave the academy/club all of the sudden. Perez has stayed out of the spotlight since his departure and has given no public explanation for his decision. Fellow French academy player Andy Tandia (CDM, 55 OVR) also left the club citing his desire to look for more playing time elsewhere. He projected as a backup at best once he fully developed.

                  February Schedule
                  2/6: at Manchester Utd.
                  2/9: at Chelsea
2/12: vs Birmingham City (F.A. Cup)
                  2/17: at Celtic (Euro League)
                  2/20: vs Leicester City
                  2/24: vs Celtic (Euro League)
                  2/26: vs QPR

Two very tough road games in a four-day span at the beginning of February may clarify whether The Exiles will continue to have any hope of catching up with Manchester City at the top of the standings. Newport County continues to draw lower league opponents in the F.A. Cup and it'll be interesting to see whether Marccelino calls on his B-squad for the match-up against Birmingham City. The two-game set against Celtic is very intriguing and Newport County will have to manage their focus well as they would be well served to get all the points they can get at Rodney Parade in league play against two teams trying to stay away from the relegation zone such as Leicester and QPR.

                  Stay tuned

                      Season 8

                      The Mariners

                      October 2023

                      Grimsby Town 1 - 2 Manchester United
                      GRI - Morrison 50'
                      MUN - Pereira 58', Ruiz 61'
                      MOTM: Pereira

Our unbeaten streak in league play ends, and took two world class goals from outside of the box to do it. Morrison gave us the lead first after Kamada played him the ball and he split two defenders to get through on goal and he powered his shot across to the far post. It didn't last long though and Pereira was able to hold off defenders and blast his shot from outside of the box with defenders draped all over him and it landed perfectly into the top left corner. Then just minutes later Ruiz got the ball on the counter and he took his shot early from outside of the box before the defender could get his body on him and it flew into the top corner to give United the win.

                      Champion's League Group Stage
                      SL Benfica 1 - 2 Grimsby Town
                      BEN - Gomes 54'
                      GRI - Boscagli 61', 90'
                      MOTM: Boscagli

A good win to keep us firmly atop the group, but it was a Pyrrhic victory in that we lost Dembele in the process. Benfica took the lead after we lost the ball in the midfield and they sent it straight ahead to Gomes who was through on goal and he fired it into the top left corner. But we weren't ready to give up and Morrison played Boscagli through on the right and he took a touch and the slotted it around the keeper to the bottom right corner. It looked like it was going to be a draw, but in the closing seconds Wolf was able to play Boscagli around the left once again and he finished almost identically to his first one into the bottom right corner. Now we just have to hope that Dembele's injury won't be serious.

                      Watford FC 1 - 4 Grimsby Town
                      WAT - Kennedy 89'
                      GRI - Wolf 19', 81', Quiroga 61', Harris 66'
                      MOTM: Wolf

We dominated start to finish to bounce back after losing our last league game. We opened the scoring after Harris got around the left and had his shot pushed away by the keeper, and Wolf was there to tap in the rebound. In the second half we doubled the lead with Vieira playing Quiroga through on the left and he fired his shot through a window and into the bottom right corner. Harris extended it further after Wolf tried to play him through and had to win the ball from a defender to get through on goal and slotted it around the keeper. Wolf got his second when Wright played him through on the left and he took a touch before placing it back across the goal to the far post. They grabbed a consolation goal after our defense fell asleep and let Kennedy run right past them to get a through ball and then beat our keeper 1 on 1.

                      Grimsby Town 3 - 0 Swansea City
                      GRI - Kelly 39', Harris 45', 73'
                      MOTM: Kelly

Our homegrown talent put in the work tonight and accounted for every goal. Kelly was the first to score after Boscagli got down the left wing and sent the ball across the face of the goal and Kelly was waiting to tap it in on the back post. Harris was the next to score after Boscagli's shot was pushed away only for Harris to run in and clean it up. Harris grabbed his second of the night after we won the ball away from a defender and Kelly was able to play him through on the left and he finished it back across to the far post.

                      Champion's League Group Stage
                      Borussia Dortmund 0 - 0 Grimsby Town
                      MOTM: Le Marchand

This was the first game of the season we failed to score in, but we were strong enough defensively to still earn a point and keep us on top of the group. Dortmund out played us by a wide margin, so getting the draw is a rather flattering result for us.

                            Tottenham Hotspur 0 - 3 Grimsby Town
                            GRI - Boscagli 14', 70', Morrison 73'
                            MOTM: Morrison

We were clinical tonight, scoring with 3 of the 4 shots we registered. Boscagli got us started after Morrison played him the ball around the left side of the defense and he turned towards goal and fired a low shot around the keeper. In the second half Boscagli got on the board again after Morrison once again played him around the left and he slotted it into the bottom right corner. Just a few minutes later Dembele, making his return from injury off the bench, got down the left and tried to send a low ball into the box but the keeper pushed it out to the middle where Morrison was able to chest it down and then poke it past the keeper.

                            MOTM: Tousart

Boscagli showed he belonged in the conversation for world class with his stunning goal tonight. Just before the half the referee gave us a free kick from about 30 yards out. Boscagli lined it up and powered it over the wall, curling perectly into the top left corner giving the keeper no chance at all of making a stop.

                            Grimsby Town 2 - 1 SL Benfica
                            GRI - Garcia 20' (OG), Dembele 38'
                            BEN - Semedo 90'
                            MOTM: Semedo

This was a rather undeserved win that we scored 2 goals on 2 recorded shots, and one of those goals was an own goal. We opened the scoring after Sidibe got down the left and found Dembele in the middle where he really should have finished but the keeper saved it only to see Garcia run in and bundle it into the net off the rebound. Dembele then got the one he should have had to double our lead after Kamada played him up the middle as he held off a defender and finished it with his left foot across the goal to the bottom left corner. Then in the final minute Semedo grabbed a consolation goal after he won the ball from Sidibe and followed up his rebound after Johnstone saved his first attempt. The win is enough to secure us a spot in the knockout rounds, and depending on the results of the Real Madrid vs Dortmund game, a spot at the top of the group with a match left to spare.

                            Grimsby Town 1 - 0 Aston Villa
                            GRI - Burke 84'
                            MOTM: Boscagli

It was an ugly win, but still a win. We were rather lackluster for most of the night creating very few chances compared to what is normal for us. Our defense was as strong as ever through, and that paid off when in the closing minutes Boscagli was able to get down the left and send a ball into the middle where Burke was able to poke it past the keeper for the only goal of the match.

Okay first of all, it's good to be back. Now let's get into it.

Tex Wow, going from the very bottom of League Two to consecutive Premier League champions in the span of 7 seasons is absolutely insane. You really got your academy to produce for you, and I love seeing guys like Dembele and Zaha make it at the highest level. Hopefully now you can grab some of that European glory that's evaded you and really cement your position as the best team in not just England, but Europe!

Your adventures with Crawley Town are just beginning, but I see promising signs. Wonder if you will end up repeating Grimsby's feats in the top flight!

I don't know where to begin with you. You've got a stacked squad at Barcelona and an equally world-class lineup at Newport. Delighted to see Farfan still killing it. I really have to salute you guys who take League Two sides up to the top and win. Takes massive patience and persistence. Well done.

You seem to be doing well with Dundalk. Really different career. Not my cuppa but you seem to have a good hold on things. Best of luck!

                                PRESEASON

Indi Blue's squad ventured to Belgium for preseason, competing against several mid-tier teams from across the continent in the European Shield. The manager has decided to wait until after the tournament before finalising a formation and transfers, instead giving his squad a chance to show their abilities on the pitch.

                                43' Hyam

                                European Shield | Charleroi | W 3-0
                                16' Ward
                                42' Bishop

                                European Shield | Liege | W 2-0
                                81' Murphy
                                86' Knudsen

                                European Shield | Gdansk | W 2-0
                                66' Sears
                                77' Varney

Despite winning the tournament with a perfect record and without conceding a single goal, Ipswich Town were far from ideal. Playing in a 3-4-3 formation, they were sloppy in possession and fortunate out of it. Several players are likely to be sold as part of an expected progression towards a more stable 4-3-3 system.

David McGoldrick has today finalised a permanent transfer to Premier League side Hull City after a £1.8 million fee was agreed earlier this week. The club would like to thank David for his service and wishes him well in this phase of his career.

Brett Pitman has today completed a £1.4 million transfer to Premier League new boys Burnley. The club would like to thank Brett for his contributions on the pitch.

                                Championship | Preston (H) | W 1-0
                                76' Bru

"I absolutely detest having to contend with an open transfer window after the season begins. However, we weren't good enough this month, the confusion of selling and signing players aside. Even our victory over Norwich was little more than a lucky night, with the scoreline flattering our performance. It's clear that the 3-4-3 and 3-5-2 aren't working, so we have to do some smart business on deadline day if we want to compete with the other top teams in this division."

The club is delighted to announce the signings of three first-team players in order to strengthen our challenge for promotion to the Premier League. We welcome Congolese winger Kazenga LuaLua from Brighton & Hove Albion (£2.8 million), as well as the English pair of
midfielder Henri Lansbury from Nottingham Forest (£3.5 million), and forward Adam Armstrong from Newcastle United (£1.4 million).

" We've already shown so far that we can defend. Now these three signings give us the strength and depth to play attacking football. Henri's playmaking at the heart of the pitch will prove vital, and we expect him to dovetail nicely with the runs of Teddy Bishop. Kazenga is a player I know from Brighton. His pace, agility, and dribbling ability will allow us to be direct when we need it. Adam is a player we rate highly and will get more chances here than he ever did at Newcastle."

"I think the boys have shown what they can do over the last few games. Best of all is we haven't been limited to one approach. That's down to our flexibility and versatility. Obviously it was a disappointment to lose that last game, but we did well enough elsewhere to make up for it. It's also great to stay in the cup, and with our round of 16 match coming against Wimbledon, we could possibly make the quarter-finals without facing any top-flight opposition. The key now is to build on how well the team is gelling and carry this momentum forward into October."
