    Ince (78)

    Farfán (C, 77) ------------------ Guerreiro (81)

    League Match 32
    Newport County - Everton (1-3)
    McCarthy 16'
    Mirallas 28'
    Deulofeu 79'
    Ringdal Støvland 90+2' (Embolo)

Everton knocked around Newport County pretty good at Rodney Parade to put a serious dent on The Exiles' attempt to contend for the league title. The Toffees were the superior team from the get-go as they continue to push for a top-6 finish and a return to European football next season.

Euro League - Quarter Final, 1st Leg
Real Sociedad - Newport County (4-3)
    Pardo 15'
    Alcacer 32'
    Ringdal Støvland 34' (Embolo)
    Guerreiro 49' (Ince)

    Canales 72'
    Martella 90+1' (Ringdal Støvland)
    Al Shahrani 90+3' (OG)

One of most exciting games in all of Europe this season ended with heartbreak for the visiting side. Newport County battled an inspired effort from Real Sociedad to twice come back from deficits, including an injury time goal from Daniele Martella towards the end of the game that seemed to seal a draw. But the home side never stopped pushing and a late powerful cross from Carlos Vela on the the right wing bounced off Yasir Al Shahrani to go into The Exiles' net for a disheartening own goal to end the game.
In hindsight Marccelino's squad leaves with three away goals that could prove to be very valuable but it's difficult for this one not to sting.

    League Match 33
Newport County - Crystal Palace (4-1)
    Martella 44' (Potter)
    Embolo 61' (Al Shahrani)
    Gersbeck 70' (pen)

    Kelly 74'
    Potter 77' (Martella)
Gordon 15' (Bruised shoulder, out for 9 days)

The Exiles got back on the winning track after a five-game winless streak with a dominant defeat of Crystal Palace at Rodney Parade. Marccelino did get a serious scare in the 15th minute when Clark Gordon's injury forced the academy graduate out of the game but luckily for Newport County it was just a minor injury that will have him back in action after about a week. Martella continues to shine after the increase in playing time he's received in the last couple of months, this time taking advantage of extended minutes following Gordon's injury to contribute with a goal and an assist.

Euro League - Quarter Final, 2nd Leg
Newport County - Real Sociedad (1-1, 4-5 agg)
    Guerreiro 32' (Farfán)
    Yuri 85'

The Exiles turned in another outstanding offensive performance against Real Sociedad but Jesús Fernández Collado was up for the challenge, limiting Newport County to just one goal from nine shots on target. And the one shot that got past Sociedad's goalkeeper had to be this perfect to get through:

    <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/P56R4BPqsBI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Marccelino's squad knew the minimal lead kept them hovering around the danger of elimination and their fears became a real nightmare when Yuri equalized the score with about 5 minutes left in the game, giving the Spanish club the edge in the aggregate score.

    F.A. Cup - Semi Final
    Newport County - Watford (3-1)
    Embolo 2' (Ringdal Støvland)
    Ringdal Støvland 14' (Gordon)
    Ince 35' (Gordon)

    Oulare 66'

The Exiles bounced back from their tough-luck exit from the UEL by leaving no doubt of their superiority over Watford in this match to advance to the F.A. Cup final. As it has often been the case this season, both Embolo and Ringdal Støvland scoring for Marccelino's side led to a dominant performance from Newport County's attack, which also featured a sharp Gordon in his return from injury.

    League Match 34
    Newport County - Liverpool (1-1)
    Süle 40' (Farfán)
    Ibe 45+1'

Niklas Süle was timely with his first goal in a Newport County jersey which turned out to be key in helping The Exiles earn a draw against Liverpool to remain ahead of The Reds in the standings. These teams have matched up well both times this season.

    League Match 35
    Southampton - Newport County (1-4)
    Tadić 45+1'
    Ringdal Støvland 48' (Pogba)
    Ringdal Støvland 68' (Farfán)
    Zouma 85' (Farfán)
    Embolo 90+3' (Moore)

    Gordon 27'

The Exiles closed out April in far better form than they started it, keeping their composure after a frustrating first half to explode for a barrage of goals in the second half. Newport County had been the better team since kickoff but it was The Saints who went into halftime with the lead on what turned out to be their only shot on target in this game. Marccelino pushed the right buttons at the half and his side responded with four second half goals led by RS' scoring and the skipper's facilitating.

    Barclays PL
    Top Scorers

    1. Ringdal Støvland (Newport County) - 23
    T2. Jiménez (Newcastle Utd) - 14
    T2. Jørgensen (Hull City) - 14

    Assists
    1. Farfán (Newport County) - 11
    2. Ibe (Liverpool) - 9
    3. Gordon (Newport County) - 8

    Clean Sheets
    1. Szczęsny (Arsenal) - 13
    T2. Lloris (Spurs) - 10
    T2. Mannone (Sunderland) - 10

Analysis: Mathematically there's still hope for The Exiles in their quest to unseat Manchester City at the top of the table but it'll take a miracle for that to happen. The season finale between these teams looked like it could be a title-deciding match but instead it looks like MCFC will get to celebrate a BPL title at Rodney Parade. City would need to lose both of their next games for Newport County to go into the final game of the season with a chance at winning the league, and the Welsh club would need to win both of their next games as well before the season finale. Furthermore, Marccelino's club can only tie Man City in points and the tiebreaker would be goal differential, where the league leaders currently hold a +9 lead over Newport County.

Making this a tougher season to swallow is The Exiles rough exit from the UEL. Marccelino's side left it all out on the pitch over both legs against Real Sociedad but Newport County finally met a club that could match their combination of offensive firepower and suddenly improved defense. Nonetheless, The Exiles still have a good shot at earning some hardware this season via the F.A. Cup where they'll face Chelsea in the final, a club they beat 3-0 at Stamford Bridge this past February.

    The Academy
(listed by their ranking in it)

RB - Ohon Aduamah (63 OVR, 91-94): This 15-year old from Cameroon has officially been tabbed as an elite prospect. A physically strong player, Aduamah displays excellent aggression (83) and strength (77) to go with the jumping (75) and stamina (75) of a play-time ready prospect. He also possesses the pace to play the position.

RB - Ohon Ankrah (59 OVR, 87-93): 16-year old prospect from Cameroon who is more of a well-rounded prospect at this point in time. Ankrah is defensive minded and physical enough for the position, currently standing at 5'7" and 154lbs.

CAM - Jason Lavery (55 OVR, 83-89): 17-year old prospect from Northern Ireland described as a playmaker. The lefty Lavery stands at 5'9", 143lbs and is considered the next big prospect at his position.

CAM - Matt Lampson (51 OVR, 81-87): 16-year old prospect from the United States whose pace (75acc/73spd) is his most notable asset. Lampson is a raw prospect and will need to work hard in the academy.

CM - Abraham Lamptey (54 OVR, 78-84): 17-year old prospect from Cameroon who is defensive minded. Lamptey checks in at 6'1" and 169lbs and although he projects as an all-around midfielder his physical look make him a CDM prospect in The Exiles' diamond.

LM - Collin Taylor (58 OVR 78-84): 16-year old American prospect described as a playmaker. His most outstanding skill is his agility (75) which is noticeably better than any other skill he has at the moment.

CM - Dean McKay (51 OVR, 74-80): 15-year old prospect from Northern Ireland identified as a playmaker. McKay is very raw but even with that he shows outstanding agility (73) which should come in handy for his position.

GK - Aaron Keegan (51 OVR, 73-79): Now a 16-year old American who projects as a backup at best for the club.
    * Recent addition

Cameroon is turning out to be a diamond pipeline.

    Remaining Schedule
    5/7: at Swansea City
    5/15: at Norwich
5/21: vs Chelsea (F.A. Cup, at Wembley)
    5/24: vs Manchester City

It sure looks like the rest of league games for The Exiles this season are mostly a formality, although the expectation is that the club will aim to finish with as many points as possible to avoid an overtake by Liverpool in 2nd place. The last two games of the season sure seem like must-watch TV regardless of the stakes.

    Stay tuned

      Season 9

      The Mariners

      April 2025

      Grimsby Town 1 - 0 Newcastle Untied
      GRI - Lukaku 74'
      MOTM: Lukaku

Newcastle didn't offer much of a threat tonight, but they did make it hard for us to find a way to break through and get the win. It took us until the second half but we finally got the goal we needed after Tousart played the ball to Lukaku and he took it around the left side of the defense and fired a low shot across to the bottom right corner.

      Grimsby Town 0 - 0 Aston Villa
      MOTM: Tousart

We had our chances but we disappointingly failed to take advantage of any. Luckily our defense was strong and we kept them off the score sheet as well, earning a point for ourselves as a result. We will definitely have to be more clinical in the coming matches as we have the Champion's League quarter final and the F.A. Cup semi final coming up.

      Arsenal FC 1 - 1 Grimsby Town
      ARS - Baptistao 53'
      GRI - Kelly 87'
      MOTM: Lukaku

They were the better team on the day, but we still managed to get a late equalizer and grab a point from the match. They took the lead early in the second half when a cross went into the box and Baptistao got to it just before our keeper and he poked it past him. Then finally we got the one we needed in the closing minutes after Lukaku played Kelly through on the right and he finished it off the left post and in.

      Grimsby Town 2 - 0 Sunderland AFC
      GRI - Kelly 19', Harris 83'
      MOTM: Harris

It was nice to get a strong performance out of our reserves today. Kelly opened the scoring early in the first half after Harris quickly flicked a ball on to him down the right and he hit it first time around the keeper to the left side of the goal. Then in the closing minutes the roles reversed and Kelly flicked a ball on to Harris and he fired it low to the bottom left corner to double our lead.

Champion's League Quarter Final Leg 1
      PSG 3 - 2 Grimsby Town
      PSG - Kurzawa 36', Sanabria 50', 64' (PEN)
      GRI - Boscagli 30', Lukaku 66'
      MOTM: Boscagli

In a rematch of last years final, we drew PSG for this round and we knew this wasn't going to be easy. We grabbed the opener when Delgado played it to Boscagli on the left and he aimed for the far post but the defender blocked it back inside the near post. They equalized in just a matter of minutes after a shot came back off the cross bar and it was headed into the middle where Kurzawa fired it first time past our keeper. Sanabria then gave them the lead after a shot came back off the post and he was able to control it and then tuck it away. He added another one not long after after Caulker was whistled for a foul in the box and Sanabria sent our keeper the wrong way and slotted it home. We came right back at them and Burke got the ball on the right and cut it inside to fire his shot but it took a touch off of Lukaku on the way in and he got credit for the goal instead. We couldn't get an equalizer though after that, but we do walk away with 2 precious away goals.

      Southampton FC 1 - 2 Grimsby Town
      SOU - Seager 15'
      GRI - Kelly 47', Paterson 67'
      MOTM: Kelly

They came out firing and put us on our back foot, but we were able to weather the storm and then take the win before it was over. Seager gave them the lead when a low cross was whipped in and he dipped his head down and nodded it inside the post. We answered back just on the other side of the half when Paterson played the ball to Kelly and he took it on his own all the way into the box and through the defense to slot it past the keeper to the far post. Then they reversed roles and Kelly got down the right and sent a cross in to the near post where Paterson met it and powered his header past the keeper to give us the winner.

Champion's League Quarter Final Leg 2
      Grimsby Town 3 (5) - (3) 0 PSG
      GRI - Burke 45', Lukaku 62', 88'
      MOTM: Lukaku

We more than made up the difference we needed and now we are on to the semi-finals for the second straight season. Lukaku did a great job to play Burke through and he finished to the left side of the keeper to give us the 1 goal we needed just before the half. Then in the second half we kept adding more starting with Delgado threading a ball through for Lukaku and he kept his shot low and placed it around the keeper. And in the closing minutes we put the finishing touches on the game after Burke played Lukaku around the left and he just blasted his shot right past the keeper giving him no time to react.

      FA Cup Semi Final
      Grimsby Town 4 - 0 Chelsea FC
      GRI - Delgado 42', Burke 45', Tierney 54', Lukaku 88'
      MOTM: Lukaku

We keep on rolling and our hopes of a treble are still alive after a dominating win to send us through to the final. Delgado opened it after Tousart played him around the left and his shot should have been kept out but the keeper reacted slowly and it went in off his arm. Then just minutes later we doubled the lead when Lukaku played Burke through on the right and he kept his shot low to the far post. In the second half we kept up our momentum and Boscagli sent a cross in to the middle and Burke powered a header off the post and Tierney rose above his man and headed it in on the far post. In the closing minutes we capped it off with Kamada playing Lukaku up the middle and he placed it around the keeper and in.

      Grimsby Town 1 - 0 Everton FC
      GRI - Kelly 40'
      MOTM: Kelly

We played pretty poorly but it was still enough to get a win. The only goal of the match came when Konate got down the left wing and sent a cross in that was cleared out to the top of the box where Kamada was waiting and he headed it back towards Kelly who twisted his body acrobatically to volley it towards goal catching the keeper by surprise and it hit off of him and in.

We Try. We Fail. We Win.

        September 2020

        Hertha BSC 0 - 0 Mainz 05

Remember those scoring problems we've had for the last half a year? They continued in this match as we only managed to get one shot on target.

        Fenerbahce 1 - 0 Hertha BSC
        Ralte 77'

Our second-ever Champions League campaign began poorly as Fenerbahce were able to beat us at their home ground. Late into the game Ralte put the ball into the bottom right corner of the net, winning the game for his side.

        Bayern München 1 - 3 Hertha BSC
        Müller 78'
        Weiser 17', Esswein 48', 63'

Now this is how to bounce back from two winless games! Our star winger Mitchell Weiser put us ahead in the 17th minute with a powerful shot into the top left corner of the net. Unfortunately our star signing of the summer Breel Embolo got injured a bit later, but his replacement Alexander Esswein couldn't have played better as he got a headed brace and secured the three points. Late into the match Thomas Müller pulled one back from a parried shot, but we were able to hold onto our lead.

Breel Embolo dislocated his shoulder and will be out for 8 weeks.

        Hertha BSC 2 - 0 FC Augsburg
        Selke 12', 37'

        RB Leipzig 1 - 1 Hertha BSC
        Crislan 90'
        Duda 73'

Caglar Söyüncü sprained his ankle and will miss 4 weeks of action.

        Hertha BSC 0 - 0 Sporting CP

Not good, not good at all. We've only managed to gather a single point and no goals from our first two Champions League matches. We need to improve fast if we want to challenge for the title.

        October 2020

        Hertha BSC 2 - 1 TSG Hoffenheim
        Platte 29', 36'
        Bicakcic 60'

A first-half brace from Felix Platte was enough to get us the win in this hard-fought match against Hoffenheim.

        1. FC Nürnberg 0 - 1 Hertha BSC
        Duda 40'

        Arsenal FC 0 - 2 Hertha BSC
        Weiser 63', Selke 75'

We're picking up form at exactly the right moment! A very strong performance on the Emirates means that we are back in the game in our Champions League group. Arsenal didn't get a single shot off on target which shows how well we played.

        Hertha BSC 1 - 0 Borussia Mönchengladbach
        Sané 33'

I might be mistaken, but I think we have won pretty much all of our games against Gladbach in the last couple of seasons, and now we can add this match to that list of victories. Salif Sané got the winning goal with a powerful strike from the edge of the box.

        Round of 32
        Hertha BSC 2 - 0 Mainz 05
        Duda 29', Platte 76'

A strong cup against a solid Mainz side is the perfect way to begin our journey towards a third-in-a-row DFB Pokal title. Ondrej Duda put the ball into the top right corner of the net right before the half an hour mark, and 15 minutes before the end Felix Platte headed the ball into the net. We will face FC Augsburg in the next round.

        VfL Wolfsburg 1 - 1 Hertha BSC
        Didavi 48'
        Duda 40'

Breel Embolo's comeback game didn't go as we hoped as Daniel Didavi (that's alliteration right there) headed Wolfsburg back on level early into the second half. We tried to push for a winner, but Wolfsburg's midfield did a great job at neutralising our players.

        November 2020

        Sporting CP 0 - 2 Hertha BSC
        Gbamin 49', Embolo 65'

It took Embolo several games to get his first goal for us, but the goal was certainly a fine one. A cross was sent into the Sporting box where their defender stopped the ball with his chest. Embolo then got his foot onto the falling ball and hit it into the back of the net with a thunderous volley. That's how we beat Sporting.

        Hertha BSC 2 - 0 Eintracht Braunschweig
        Duda 43', Demirbay 50'

FC St. Pauli 0 - 5 Hertha BSC
        Duda 26', Stenzel 35', 89', Selke 45' pen, Sané 81'

        Hertha BSC 1 - 0 Fenerbahce
        Plattenhardt 86'

Remember when some games ago we had serious issues in CL games? Well, with this win we've secured our spot in the knockout stages with a game to spare. Fenerbahce were hit by a truck in this game as we had 14 shots compared to their 1. It still took 86 minutes for us to score, and in what way did we score. The best freekick taker of the Bundesliga, Marvin Plattenhardt, stepped behind the ball at the edge of the D and slotted the ball into the net. Also, this was the first freekick goal of this career. Yay!

        Hertha BSC 2 - 0 Hamburger SV
        Duda 19', Selke 90'

        December 2020

        VfB Stuttgart 0 - 1 Hertha BSC
        Platte 51'

        Hertha BSC 1 - 1 Arsenal FC
        Esswein 52'
        Toral 45'

Despite us having secured a place in the round of 16, this game was important since it decided whether we would finish above Arsenal in the group. Thanks to us previous win against the Gunners, and due to the fact that this match ended in a tie, we topped our group. Next up: Liverpool.

Mitchell Weiser suffered a broken ankle and will be out ofr 3 months.

        Round of 16
        Hertha BSC 2 - 1 FC Augsburg
        Embolo 45', Allan 77'
        Thy 59'

We will face Hamburger SV in the quarter finals.

        FC Ingolstadt 3 - 2 Hertha BSC
        Pledl 4', Morales 19', Lezcano 23'
        Darida 9' pen, Embolo 90'

HOW?! I still have no clue how second-bottom Ingolstadt managed to defeat us in such embarassing fashion. Everything was going well after Darida's equaliser, but then the ex-Herthaner Alfredo Morales put his team ahead after Patrick Stenzel headed the ball to Morales from a corner. Just a few minutes Dario Lezcano doubled Ingolstadt's lead with a tap-in after being left unmarked. Ingolstadt then defended well and we weren't able to equalise. A horrible defensive performance from our team.

        Hertha BSC 2 - 2 Bayer Leverkusen
        Platte 45', Esswein 73'
        Da Costa 10', Volland 44'

Another horrific defensive performance means that we dropped the two points against Leverkusen, or rather gained one point. Danny da Costa was left free in the box which meant that he had an easy job shooting the ball past Jarstein in goal. Half an hour later Kevin Volland doubled Leverkusen's lead after a straight line was left uncovered between him and our goal. Luckily Felix Platte and Alex Esswein scored one each to tie the game up.

        Bundesliga Table

        1. Borussia Dortmund, 39 pts
        2. Hertha BSC, 35 pts
        3. Bayer Leverkusen, 30 pts
        4. Bayern München, 30 pts
        5. Borussia Mönchengladbach, 30 pts
        6. 1. FC Köln, 30 pts
        ---------------------------------------------
        16. 1. FC Nürnberg, 11 pts
        17. FC Ingolstadt, 8 pts
        18. FC St. Pauli, 3 pts

        Champions League Group

        1. Hertha BSC, 11 pts
        2. Arsenal FC, 11 pts
        --------------------------------
        3. Fenerbahce, 6 pts
        4. Sporting CP, 5 pts

        My Thoughts

        League -
Our two defensive meltdowns at the end of December cost us our position at the top of the table. Even worse, Dortmund's got a four-point lead now. Interestingly, our next game is against Dortmund That's a must-win game as a loss would make their lead even larger.

Cups - We're going strong in both the DFB Pokal and the Champions League. In the latter, we did well to turn around the poor beginning we had. Liverpool aren't that easy of an opponent, but I'm confident that we'll be able to beat them.

Transfer Plans - I'm looking to sign a goalkeeper for next season as Rune Jarstein is getting older and decreasing, while our second-choice keeper Thomas Kraft is average at best. One option could be Timon Wellenreuther, the go-to young German keeper, whose contract also happens to be running out in six months.

I'd also like to sign a solid winger as Weiser is injured and Esswein is decreasing due to his age. Our other options, i.e. Sinan Kurt and potential-to-be-special-man Thomas Lang, aren't cutting it and both of them fail to put in good performances. I'd love to sell the latter, but we usually don't get any offers for him. I'm also not going to put him on the transfer list as we wouldn't be able to get a huge amount of money for him that way.

A third position I'd like to strengthen is our defensive midfield. Our midfield engine Vladimir Darida is getting older and - say it with me - starting to decrease, while Salif Sané and our reserve options, Fabian Lustenberger together with Niels Albrecht (YA player), don't perform that well.

Again, sorry it took me ages to post this, but I've been busy with school.

Thank you for reading this post! I hope you have enjoyed it! Any feedback or suggestions will be appreciated!

                    Season 9

                    The Mariners

                    May 2025

                    Grimsby Town 2 - 1 Stoke City
                    GRI - Konate 56', Kelly 67'
                    STK - Fofana 40'
                    MOTM: Charisis

They had their way with us in the first half, but we came out and made the second half ours. Fofana opened the scoring to give them the lead after he made a well timed run to get the ball through on the right and he slotted it to the far post. In the second half we got going with a bit of luck after Harris had the ball tackled away from him and Konate was right there to pick it up and get around the left side to fire it back to the bottom right corner. Then we got the lead after Harris played Kelly through up the middle and he tucked it away with his right foot to the left side of the goal.

Champion's League Semi Final Leg 1
                    Real Madrid 1 - 2 Grimsby Town
                    RMA - Mayoral 35'
                    GRI - Delgado 40', Lukaku 48'
                    MOTM: Boscagli

They hit out at us first, but it would turn out to be their only shot on goal for the entire 90 minutes. They got the lead when they broke away on the counter and the ball was played in to the middle where Deslandes had completely lost his man and Mayoral hit it first time past our keeper. It only took 5 minutes for us to equalize though and Boscagli laid the ball off to Delgado running in on the left and he fired it back across to the far post. Then just on the other side of the half Morris found Lukaku running at goal and he fired it from outside of the box with his weaker right foot perfectly into the bottom right corner to give us a goal advantage and a second away goal heading into the second leg now.

                    Middlesbrough 0 - 3 Grimsby Town
                    GRI - Boscagli 28', 74', Lukaku 87'
                    MOTM: Boscagli

It turns out that last weeks results after our win secured the title for us meaning that we played this game already knowing we will be the champions. Boscagli opened the scoring after Lukaku played him through with a nice ball and he directed it around the keeper with his first touch to the left side of the goal. In the second half Boscagli added another with a beautiful free kick from just outside the box that he curled up over the wall and into the top right corner. Then in the closing minutes Kamada had his shot saved and it fell out to the middle where Lukaku was waiting and he sent it right back into the net.

Champion's League Semi Final Leg 2
                    Grimsby Town 3 (5) - (4) 3 Real Madrid
                    GRI - Lukaku 32' (PEN), 69' (PEN), Boscagli 83'
                    RMA - Asensio 45', Diao 51', Diaz 90'
                    MOTM: Lukaku

This certainly did not lack for action and we needed every last goal to send us through to the final. Carvajal took out Boscagli in the box and Lukaku stepped to the spot and slotted it into the bottom left corner as the keeper went the wrong way. But they found an equalizer just before half with the ball getting played to Asensio running in and he directed it across to the far post. Then on the other side of the half Diao got the ball on the left edge of the box and he cut it onto his right foot and fired a great shot into the top right corner. Luck was on our side though and Tousart got taken out in the box and the referee once again pointed to the spot allowing Lukaku to go to the bottom right this time to bring us level. Then we caught them on the counter and played the ball out ahead to Boscagli who used his pace to go through on goal and then place it around the keeper to the bottom right corner. In the final minute Diaz tackled the ball away from our defender to go through on goal and he beat our keeper to make the remaining minutes of stoppage time a nervy time, but we held on for the aggregate win.

                    Grimsby Town 0 - 2 Manchester United
                    MUN - Depay 11', 37' (PEN)
                    MOTM: Depay

This is just our third loss of the entire season in the league, and looking at the stats it was even in every stat aside from the score. Depay opened the scoring early with a stunning shot from distance into the bottom left corner. He doubled their lead then after the referee called a questionable penalty against Bennett and Depay tucked it away into the left side after our keeper went the other way.

                    AFC Bournemouth 0 - 2 Grimsby Town
                    GRI - Tousart 9', Wright 72'
                    MOTM: Burke

We went back to winning ways and played the way we know we are capable of. We started it off quick with Burke finding Tousart running in and he beat the keeper to the far post. Then in the second half Burke found Wright on the right and kept his shot low past the keeper to the bottom left corner.

                    Watford FC 0 - 3 Grimsby Town
                    GRI - Harris 45', Lukaku 71', 79'
                    MOTM: Burke

We finished the season with a performance that summed up our year as a whole. We dominated from start to finish. We opened the scoring right before the half with Burke playing Harris through on the left and he finished it quickly on the near post. In the second half Burke played Lukaku down the right and he avoided a tackle and turned towards goal and finessed his shot around the keeper to the far post from a tough angle. And finally to wrap it all up Burke played Lukaku through up the middle and he kept his shot low to beat the keeper to the left side of the goal.

                      FA Cup Final
                      Crystal Palace 1 (3) - (4) 1 Grimsby Town

                      GRI - Burke 53'
                      MOTM: Morris

We have won the FA Cup for the first time and completed the domestic double in the process. It certainly wasn't easy and it came down to a thrilling penalty shootout to decide the winner. Palace scored early to get the lead with a cross going into the middle where Bastos was waiting completely unmarked to head past our keeper. It took until the second half but we finally found an equalizer when Morris found Burke on the right and he turned towards goal and the slotted it past the keeper to the bottom left corner. Despite our sizable amount of chances we couldn't find a winner in regulation or extra time. Lukaku was the first to miss his penalty and that put us in a hole, but Johnstone was up for the challenge and he kept out two of their attempts to allow Castro Otto to tuck away the deciding penalty that gave us the trophy.

                      Champion's League Final
                      Grimsby Town 2 - 0 Manchester United
                      GRI - Boscagli 48', Morris 85'
                      MOTM: Tousart

T-R-E-B-L-E! We did it, we completed the treble and this team will go down in history now. Sir Alex didn't think that any English team would ever do it again, but here we are. In the first half they proved hard to break down and even though we got some good chances on goal, De Gea was in top form proving why is he one of the best in the world between the sticks. But in the second half a little bit of luck got us the break we needed. We had a great bit of build up play that ended with Tousart playing Boscagli down the left and he aimed his shot to the far post and as it left his foot it took a slight deflection off of Manolas causing the ball to bounce over De Gea who had already gone to ground to make the initial save. We protected that advantage and then in the closing minutes Lukaku played a great ball to Morris on the left and he powered it first time to the far post to secure our place in history.

                        Objectives Review

                        Youth

The board wanted us to grow an academy player by 10 overall points and then play him in 10 matches. That just didn't seem reasonable to me since we were competing at a high level to win every trophy that was available and I didn't feel that I had the room to play a young player in 10 matches while we have tons of talent already on our roster.

                        Brand Exposure

The first thing that the board wanted from us was to earn £76,500,000 in shirt sales and we absolutely shattered that by bringing in £132,580,000 over the course of the season. Our top sellers were unsurprisingly Lukaku and Boscagli. The long term goal that was set is to earn £323,000,000 in prize money in 3 seasons time. This was our first year of that goal and we knocked out £186,000,000 of that total putting us on track to finish it with a year to spare.

                        Financial

The board wanted us to earn a profit of £42,500,000 for the season and we blew past that to earn a massive £263,350,000. Our net spend for the year was actually rather small in terms of transfers and that allowed us to commit almost all of our revenues to our profit margin.

                        Domestic Success

It's pretty safe to say that we accomplished everything that was set out for us here. They wanted us to win the title, and we did that with our highest point total yet to bring home our third straight matching Alex Ferguson's record. Winning the FA Cup was another added bonus when only an appearance in the round of 16 was expected.

                        Continental Success

Our path to the treble was completed by taking home the Champion's League title at the end of the year. A quarter final appearance was all that was expected, and our historical season led us much further than that. We are champion's of Europe for the second straight season now.

                        Summary

This was an unbelievable year. We made history by completing the second ever English treble. Our league form was dominating from the start and we didn't lose a match until January and only 3 total. On top of that we raced through the FA Cup and the Champion's League and topped it off with wins over Crystal Palace and Manchester United to claim both.

We had so many key players throughout this campaign, and of course the first that I will mention will be Romelu Lukaku. He was our talisman all year long, scoring 47 goals in 46 appearances. But just as important was the contributions of Leo Boscagli who scored 20 goals for the 3rd straight season now, and then upped his overall game to add 20 assists on top of that. We also had Oliver Burke, callum Kelly, and Owen Harris finish with double-digit goals for the year as well. Key additions this year were Kieran Tierney and Ruben Araujo Delgado who both played key roles in our success. A couple of other additions will play a large role going forward such as Rick van Drongelen and Carlos Castro Otto.

It is going to be hard to match the success of this season, but I refuse to back down from a challenge regardless of how high the bar is set. We will continue to build our squad to compete in all competitions to the best of our ability.

I called on the B-squad for our last road game of the season and they were faced with a tough challenge from Real Sociedad who were looking to finish the season in a spot that would qualify them for European competition next season. The White and Blue clamped down on defense, holding us to just 2 shots, 1 on target, and got a timely goal from Raúl Navas on a set piece to get a big win for them.

FC Barcelona - Málaga CF (0-0)
                          Douglas 70'

This was a better showing from our B-squad on both ends of the pitch but they couldn't turn any of their 5 shots on target into goals. On the flip side the defense held Málaga to just one shot (off target).

                          League Match 38

                          Vidal 71' (Alba)

And we finished up our championship season in La Liga by doubling down on the beatdown we gave Valencia early in the season at the Mestalla.
It was the perfect final league performance for us in an party-like atmosphere since well before kickoff in anticipation of our league title celebration.

                          Euro League - Final
FC Barcelona - AS Monaco (1-1, 2-3 in PK)
                          Vidal 38' (Roberto)
                          Koukou 87'

This was a tough loss to swallow. In a game in which we were favored we flat out dominated Monaco and should have won this game in a beatdown but missed scoring opportunities time and time again. In the first half it was our dominance in possession that gave us a significant edge and we were turning that possession into good scoring chances to no avail other than Vidal's goal.
In the second half Monaco unsuccessfully tried to move up their lines which left them very susceptible to our counter attacks which looked highly dangerous but didn't often turn into shots. Either way Monaco was repeatedly on the verge of getting blown out but they continued to hang tough and broke through in the 87th minute to send the game to ET.

In the first extra period Neymar, who was carrying a significant scoreless streak coming into this game, broke into the box and was fouled which resulted in a penalty kick for us. He had had a high working rate on this game so I deviated from the usual and called on him to take the PK as opposed to Messi, hunting for a romantic end to Neymar's scoring struggles, and that decision backfired when Danijel Subašić saved the Brazilian's attempt. Subašić had another outstanding save in the second half of ET, again vs Neymar who was coming in on full steam on a breakaway. The Croatian goalkeeper completed his MVP performance with three saves in the penalty shootout to give the French club the UEL title.

                          Copa Del Rey - Final
FC Barcelona - Levante UD (3-0)
                          Neymar 4' (Müller)
                          Vidal 20'
                          Neymar 42' (Messi)

                          Busquets 58'

I stood by Neymar all week in interviews following our loss against Monaco and he responded by finally breaking out of his scoring slump very early in this game, setting the tone for our dominant victory in the Spanish Cup final.
Although they were down by two goals after just 20 minutes Levante were hanging in there and hoping to regroup at the half but in the 42nd minute Lionel Messi sped down the left wing to fire a low but potent pass across the box to Neymar who simply had to tap it in to put a dagger on the game.

The second half of the game was just maintenance as we held Levante to just two shots (both on target) all game long. After the game Aleix Vidal, who played in 8 Spanish Cup games in total (first with the B-squad, then with the main lineup after his promotion) was named the Copa Del Rey's best player.

Review: Josep Maria Bartomeu hired me to bring back the winning culture to the club, among other reasons, and I can safely say I achieved that. Spanish League and Cup titles are my proof and although we lost in the final of the UEL we accomplished a different goal in that tournament, which was to prove that we're overqualified for it. This club struggled mightily last season barely finishing in 5th place and missing out on the Champions League. It's not easy to get a roster with so much world-class talent to buy into playing often against lower European competition but that was one of my tasks, to get guys to buy in. So although we eventually lost in the final, we: 1) looked dominant in most (if not all) UEL games, including the group stage where we finished in first place despite playing our B-squad exclusively; and 2) we also looked far better than Monaco in the final, and if that game was played 10 times we would certainly win the other 9 times. This squad is hungry to return to the Champions' League and prove once again that we're one of the best clubs in Europe (maybe the best?).

In order to achieve our goals this season I had to make a few moves. Improving the defense was a must, and bringing in Victor Alonso, Mayke, and Bernd Leno were moves that paid off. Another under the radar move was phasing a Barça legend out of the main lineup, which is what I had to do with Gerard Piqué. As much as I wanted to have Piqué as part of the main squad it became painfully obvious as the season went on that father time is definitely catching up to him and that Marc Bartra was performing significantly better. Fortunately for everyone he was able to continue to get significant playing time with the B-squad. The new defensive unit took a while to gel but now at the end of the season we're able to claim the best defense in terms of goals against. In the midfield the retirement of Andrés Iniesta had many wondering if this unit would be able to survive without him and I don't think anyone (myself included) foresaw just how improved Sergi Roberto would be this season. Nobody can replace a legend like Iniesta but Sergi sure did a fine job of picking up a lot of the slack, plus he didn't need to be as good as Iniesta in his prime because the combination of his performances and Aleix Vidal's career season more than softened the blow. As the season went on you expected Vidal to slow down but at season's end he had either scored or assisted in 34 goals for the club, which was a big reason why he edged out Tony Kroos in the league's Starting XI for the season. Finally, what else can I say about the performance of our front 3? Neymar had an ok season and he'll surely want to make up for it next season but his teammates up front picked up the slack to combine for 66 goals. SIXTY SIX! That's as many as second place Valencia scored in league play (only one goal less than Real Madrid's league total) and more than 17 other teams scored in the league this season. Just dominant.

I'm looking forward to proving this season wasn't a fluke and trying to repeat our dominance again next season with the added flavor of playing in the CL instead of the UEL. Maybe win Manager of the Year for the third season in a row? Thank you for reading!

                            Hey guys,

I just started a new youtube show where I am controlling all premier league team in season mode. I play the top 3 matches of the week and then create a short (less than 10min) show.

I'd love if you guys could check it out and let me know any tips on styles or ideas for future videos.

                              League Match 36
Swansea City - Newport County (0-5)
                              Ringdal Støvland 12' (Gordon)
                              Pogba 21' (Gordon)
                              Süle 32' (Farfán)
                              Gordon 45+4' (Embolo)
                              Ringdal Støvland 48' (Martella)

The Swans have been Championship-bound for months now and the gap between both rosters was noticeable as The Exiles strolled into Liberty Stadium and massacred the home team, most of the damage coming in the first half. What made this result REALLY interesting was the fact that Manchester City lost against Burnley (0-2) at the same time, keeping Newport County's small window of opportunity open for a possible overtaking of the top of the table.

                              League Match 37
                              Norwich - Newport County (1-3)
                              Embolo 36' (Amavi)
                              Ringdal Støvland 60' (Embolo)

                              Odjidja-Ofoe 73'
                              Guerreiro 90+3' (Embolo)

The Premier League had not had a second-to-last week of the season this exciting since the 2013-2014 season saw Manchester City overtake Liverpool at the top of the table. This time around while Newport County led 2-0 at Carrow Road Everton was leading MCFC by the same score, creating a real possibility for a de facto championship game between The Exiles and City the following week. The drama heated up in the 73rd minute when Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe put Norwich one goal away from a draw, which would had effectually ended the title race. Instead, the third minute of stoppage time saw Raphaël Guerreiro put the game to rest around the same time Everton finished their 2-0 win and the nearly-impossible became a reality.

As a result, Manchester City will have to fight off Newport County in the last game of the season when they visit The Exiles at Rodney Parade. City will go into that game with a three point edge, so even a draw will favor them,
but their -4 in goal differential over the past couple of games to go along Newport County's +7 in GD during the same span means MCFC no longer owns the GD tiebreaker (now belonging to Newport County), so a loss by any score against Marccelino's squad will result in Newport County becoming league champions!

                              F.A. Cup - Final
                              Newport County - Chelsea (2-0)
                              Gordon 35' (Embolo)
                              Martella 89' (Ringdal Støvland)

Attacking midfielders Clark Gordon and Daniele Martella, both academy products, each scored in the latter part of each half as The Exiles efficiently scored on their only two shots on target while they put on a clinic defensively. Newport County ceded possession to Chelsea (57%) but played their defensive assignments nearly flawless and only allowed three of the The Blues' eight shots to be on goal. Whatever did reach the target or came anywhere near close to it was turned away by Jasper Cillessen who was undoubtedly the MVP of this game with 11 saves and a 9.7 match rating.

Analysis: It was complicated end of the season for The Exiles who brought home some hardware from the F.A. Cup yet came away with an overall bitter taste of defeat. Despite missing several opportunities late in the season to catch up to (or even surpass) Manchester City in the standings, Newport County found themselves with their destiny in their own hands heading into the last game of the season. But while the focus was on the Cinderella run Marccelino's team seemed to be making, many forgot to point out Manchester City had been at the top of the table since October for good reason: they had been the best team in the league for most of the season, and while The Exiles had been the hotter team as of late City was able to manage another 2-2 draw against them to hold on to the league title. Newport County can find joy in the fact they completed their best season ever, finishing as BPL runner-ups for the first time in club history and also qualifying (directly) into the Champions League (also a first in club history). That and the F.A. Cup title make this a very good season for a club that will undoubtedly come back very hungry next season.

The Exiles have now spent three seasons in the BPL, finishing in 5th place the two previous seasons. They're no longer looked at as that club that made a rampant run through the Football League. No, they will surely be looked at next season as a legitimate title contender in the BPL, and an intriguing newcomer club into the Champions League after three consecutive top-8 finishes in the UEL. After all, Newport County has assembled a roster that can clash with the best of the UK and Europe, a squad that loses a leader in Farfán but will also welcome another outstanding player in Xherdan Shaqiri. There's no reason to think Marccelino and the board won't be able to continue to strengthen the roster the way they have all these years, so Rodney Parade can be expected to witness a lot of excitement once again next season.

                                2021-2022 Roster Review

                                Starting XI

GK: Bernd Leno (88 OVR) - 48 apps, 17 CS:Let's refer to the 30-year old German goalkeeper as "$65 million well spent". While Leno and our defense took a while to gel, a big reason why he only achieved 9 clean sheets in 30 league games, the new GK at Barcelona was particularly special in the UEL where he earned 5 clean sheets in 11 appearances. I expect the defense to perform much better next season and that includes Leno being among the league's best at his position. 8/10

RB: Mayke (84 OVR) - 47 apps, 2 G, 5 A: The 29-year old from Brazil was consistently a plus player in La Liga and deservedly got the nod in the league's Starting XI. Nevertheless, Mayke struggled to bring that consistency to other competitions such as the Copa Del Rey and UEL where overall he didn't grade as highly. Altogether it was a very good first season for him at the club, and we expect him to perform even better next season. 8/10

CB: Marc Bartra (84 OVR) - 41 apps: The 31-year old Spanish defender started the season with the B-squad but quickly made himself noticeable as someone who could perform above that level, and that paired with a noticeable drop in form by Gerard Piqué led to Bartra's promotion to the main squad. He did not disappoint after becoming a main starter for the club, and may have gotten serious consideration for a spot in the league's Starting XI if he had played more than just 22 league games this season. 7.5/10

CB: Victor Alonso (87 OVR) - 47 apps, 1 G: The 23-year old from Mexico proved to be up to the task of playing for an elite club in his first season at Barcelona. Alonso had a tough start to the season playing next to Piqué's regressed form and by the same token he really benefited from Bartra's insertion into the lineup. The really scary thing about this gem I found during my time in Mexico (from Dorados' academy) is that he still has room to improve his game and I'm hopeful he can take another step towards that next season.7.5/10

LB: Jordi Alba (86 OVR) - 48 apps, 2 G, 6 A: Outstanding season by the 33-year old from Spain who provided stability in the back four. Alba was consistently a contributor on both ends of the pitch for us regardless of the competition he played in. He's getting up there in age but showing very little regression so we're excited to continue to have him at LB next season. 8/10

CDM: Sergio Busquets (86 OVR) - 46 apps, 11 G, 8 A: Yet another 33-year old from Spain who was hands down AMAZING this season. ANY team would take 11 goals from their defensive midfielder, and the best part was that his contributions were evenly spread out over several competitions (3 goals, 4 assists in the UEL, 5 and 4 in La Liga, and 3 goals in the Spanish Cup). Much like Alba, Busquets is nearing the halfway point of his 30s but he's showing minimal regression (averaged a game rating of 7.1 or better in every competition this season) and should once again be a reference point in our lineup next season. 8.5/10

RCM: Sergi Roberto (86 OVR) - 41 apps, 7 G, 12 A: Pardon me and my globetrotter ways for not noticing sooner, but at this point of his career this 30-year old from Spain is a middle-class man's Xavi/Iniesta. When he went down with an injury early in the season we definitely felt his absence but luckily for all of us he came back to recover his fine form. He too averaged a game rating of 7.1 or better in every competition this season. 8.5/10

LCM: Aleix Vidal (83 OVR) - 46 apps, 21 G, 13 A: There is no question that the 32-year old from Spain was out breakout player. Vidal started the season as a staple of our B-squad but quickly made himself noted with outstanding form, so as soon as Arda Turan's form started to slip I made this switch and boy did it pay off. His 12 league goals made up for the fact he only played 25 league games to earn him a spot in the league's Starting XI and on top of being the Player of the Competition in the Spanish Cup he was one of the best performers in the UEL where he finished with a 7.8 average game rating over 12 games. Vidal didn't just win a starting job here at Barca, he has it on lock for next season. 9/10

RW: Neymar (93 OVR) - 45 apps, 11 G, 8 A: Neymar's overall performance this season highlights why it's important to look past just statistics when analyzing player performance. It's well noted that Neymar's scoring (even his assists) output was low this season but that did not mean he had a poor season. Much like Busquests, Roberto, and Vidal, Neymar had an average rating above 7 in every competition this season and his 7.3 rating in league play only trailed Leno and his partners up front in our attack. Neymar is more than fine for us and will continue to be a big part of our plans next season. 8/10

ST: Thomas Müller (90 OVR) - 48 apps, 36 G, 19 A: This 32-year old from Germany remains one of the world's best players and he thrived in my system, scoring nearly at will (averaging 0.75 goals/game this season, to be more exact). The crazy thing is Müller probably could had scored more as he had a couple of stretches where he failed to score. He ended the season in excellent form and not surprisingly is very happy at the club and recently signed an extension with us so he'll continue to be our #9 for the foreseeable future. 9.5/10

LW: Lionel Messi (94 OVR) - 48 apps, 30 G, 24 A: La Pulga may be 35 years old now but the Argentinian remains one of the world's best and he definitely was our MVP this season. While he was slightly statistically edged in overall scoring by Müller, Messi's innate ability to assist his teammates and his torrid scoring in the league (where he scored 90 of his goals this season) earned him the honors. 10/10

                                Bench

GK: Iñaki Serrano Molina (77 OVR) - 16 apps, 9 CS: Coming to Barcelona to become the manager is in and of itself a very exciting experience but additionally I was very thrilled to get to work with Serrano Molina, now a 21-year old Spanish product from La Masia who is an exciting prospect. He lived up to the hype in my first season here, finishing with a clean sheet in 56% of his appearances including five straight clean sheets to start UEL play. He's locked in as a starter with the B-squad and the likely replacement for Leno whenever the German's time at the club ends. 7.5/10

RB: Martín Montoya (82 OVR) - 42 apps, 2 G, 2 A: The 31-year old from Spain was very serviceable off the bench for us in addition to the several games he started with the B-squad. Montoya was one of the players who benefited from my arrival at the club as he was able to prove his worth to me early on and earn plenty of playing time, which he failed to receive last season. He's a great asset in this role and should continue to be our third fullback assuming he continues to accept that role. 7/10

CB: Gerard Piqué (81 OVR) - 36 apps, 1 G, 1 A: The 35-year old club legend obviously had a very difficult season. It's never fun when a long-tenured and fan-favorite player is finally asked to take a significant cut in his playing time and this was easily the toughest part of my job in the first season at the club. Luckily I was able to get Piqué to buy into this move and he looked like a much better fit with the B-squad. He'll go into the final year of his contract next season so it'll be interesting to see whether he'll consider retirement or, if not, whether he's willing to extend his contract here for a pay cut vs chasing big money elsewhere. 6/10

CB: Thomas Vermaelen (79 OVR) - 16 apps, 1 A: The 36-year old from Belgium got to go into retirement with some hardware. He was very useful as our other centre back for the B-squad. 6.5/10

CDM: Sergi Samper (82 OVR) - 42 apps, 2 G, 1 A: Upon my arrival I didn't know what to make of the 27-year old from Spain, wasn't sure about whether he could get the job done as the backup defensive midfielder, but Samper shook off a poor start to the season to slowly but surely ease my concerns. 6/10

CM: Rafinha (84 OVR) - 47 apps, 4 G, 7 A: The 29-year old from Brazil showed a lot of his worth in the last El Clásico of the season in which he scored two goals late in the first half to give us the lead for good. Overall he was a great asset to have off the bench and to fill into the lineup as needed as well as to provide a lot of play making abilities to the B-squad. 7/10

CM: Daniel Amartey (83 OVR) - 15 apps, 3 G, 3 A: The 27-year old from Ghana joined us midway through the season and fit right in, proving to be a great acquisition for us. Amartey was going to be first in line to get a crack in the starting XI if Vidal's form dipped but that never happened. Instead Amartey provided great depth for us and solidified the midfield for the B-squad. 7/10

CM: David Cruz Torres (78 OVR) - 20 apps, 2 G, 1 A: This 23-year old Spanish product from La Masia turned to be serviceable for us in my first season here. Cruz Torres doesn't particularly excel at anything in particular but he's a good all-around player in the midfield who performed well when called upon. 6/10

RW: Cristian Tello (83 OVR) - 27 apps, 3 G, 6 A: The 30-year old from Spain is a great luxury to have on our bench and that luxury proved worthy to have at times this season both with the B-squad and with the main squad when the injury bug hit us. Tello understands he's blocked by Neymar/Messi from more playing time and, at least for this season, accepted this role. 7/10

RW: Munir (82 OVR) - 16 apps, 3 G, 2 A: The 26-year old from Spain was easily the most frustrating/disappointing player I've had during my coaching career. As I mentioned at the beginning of the season, I obviously have a thing for academy-products so I gave Munir a chance as our backup striker. The results were almost disastrous as Munir scored at a rate lower than a goal every five games. My frustration with him was evident midway through the season and I acquired Petter Karlsson (who might be Zlatan's regen) to take over the role but he promptly suffered an ACL injury that forced me to play Munir the rest of the season, a chance he did not take advantage of. We're hopeful we'll be able to move him to a different team this summer. 5/10

RW: Sandro (85 OVR) - 23 apps, 7 G, 2 A: Although roughly half of his goals came from the penalty spot, the 26-year old from Spain performed well for us this season as the main winger behind Neymar/Messi and he was often a top performer for the B-squad. He may become a transfer target for other teams this summer but whether we listen to offers for him remains to be seen. 7/10

                                La Masia
                                (listed by ranking)

LM - Ismael Barrios (58 OVR, 84-94 POT): This 15-year old from Argentina is the newest technically gifted prospect in our academy. Barrios displays noticeable balance (74) and ball control (74) and has a ton of room to grow for being an already developed prospect.

LM - Pablo Acosta (58 OVR, 82-88): 17-year old from Argentina and yet another technically gifted prospect for the club. Acosta's agility (80) is easily his best attribute and he also possess the kind of pace (71acc/70spd) at his age that makes us comfortable about how he projects at his position.

ST - Flavio Mansilla (63 OVR, 80-86): 16-year old from Venezuela described as technically gifted. Mansilla is solidifying himself as the academy's top striker, showing excellent ball control (79) for his age to go with exciting dribbling (75), acceleration (74), and agility (72).

CM - Jose Vargas (47 OVR, 81-87): This 15-year old from Argentina described as an attacker is the rawest prospect in the academy but his potential was too enticing to pass up on him. His pace (75acc/68spd) and agility (71) are what stand out at this time.

CF - Eligio Domínguez (57 OVR, 79-85): 15-year old from Venezuela described as technically gifted. Domínguez doesn't have a particular attribute that jumps off the page but he projects as someone showing great potential.

RM - Luis Sanchez (55 OVR, 74-88): 15-year old from Argentina described as, you guessed it, technically gifted. Sanchez has good pace (69acc/65spd) for his age to go with notable agility (73).

LM - Valerio Segura (58 OVR, 77-83): 17-year old from Venezuela who is technically gifted. Segura is a very agile (79) midfielder with good pace (74acc/69spd) who may be more of a fit as a winger in our system.

RB - Manuel Navarro (53 OVR, 77-83): 15-year old from Spain described by scouts as an attacker. Navarro actually possesses decent pace (72 acc/70 spd) at a very young age and is very agile (72) as well. However, he's so raw as a defender he can't even be called a defender at this time. He projects as a depth player.

CB - Sergio Torres (57 OVR, 74-80): 15-year old from Spain described as physically strong. Torres oozes some impressive traits for his young age such as his aggression (75), jumping (73), strength (65), and pace (71 acc/68 spd) but he's raw as a defender and will need to work hard on that aspect of his game.
                                * Recent addition

Unfortunately two of our top prospects, Esteban Fuentes (CM - 60 OVR, 85-94) and Emigdio Quiroga (CM - 59 OVR, 76-90) decided to drop out of our academy at the end of the season looking to catch on elsewhere in hopes of earning playing time sooner than later. On the other hand, Javier Marquez (CAM, 62 OVR), Diego Menendez (CDM, 52 OVR), and Daniel Lugano (CAM, 60 OVR) were promoted to the senior roster. I feel that we strengthened our academy in my first season here and look forward to making it even stronger next season.
