        hi guys,
first time user on this thing - just have this nagging question that i hope someone knows the answer to - with PS4 just around the corner, what will happen now to our career mode on the ps3 given that we need to buy a new fifa 14 cd given that the upgrade option is not available...
are we going to lose our progress on the current career mode?
        thanks

Deleting everything and starting over is what I suggest. Backup the save on your HDD to USB then delete it. When you start up FIFA again you should be starting from scratch. From there start a career, choose player career, and when you have to choose between VP, real player, and create player just choose VP.

It stands to reason that nothing besides UT and the EASFC will carry over. UT and EASFC data is stored on EA's servers, which is linked to your account. CM stuff on the other hand is stored locally. Since you can't migrate your HDD you'll lose that stuff.

Season 1 finished, won the league by 7 points (Spurs, professional, full manual controls) and the Europa League too

The only thing stopping me from increasing the difficulty to World Class is my goals scored tally in the league season - played 38, scored 43. Shooting is STILL a proper struggle! I'm playing some lovely stuff, creating at least 8 clear cut chances per game, but converting them is a problem.

Clean sheets - 21. No problems there.

              Really enjoying this game.

Playing with Crewe Alexandra! Two straight promotions in the first two seasons. In both I finished second with both times finishing behind at least by 10++ points. Consistency only kicked in the 2nd half for both seasons.

In the 3rd Season, finished 2nd in the BPL, 7 points behind Manchester United. A very fun season for me.

Now, in my 4th Season, still unbeaten so far and look at the teams I'm drawned in the Champions League

Will update more, most probably on my Champions League run.

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

I started a CM wit York City in league 2. Barely missed out on playoff places in my first season but won the league in my second. In the second season I loaned Maximillian Meyer and he would be my best player for the whole of the career. bought him in the summer before League 1 season.

3rd season(first in league 1) was a breeze and won the league to get promoted to FL Championship. Meyer lead the league in goals. guys from my youth squad started to make an impact and really grow during this season.

4th season(first in FLChamp) was a challange, goal was to finish mid table and i finished 10th. brought a new GK Leali, absolute beast in goal.

5th season was better but the team just wasnt good enough to really get promoted. Finished 4th and lost in playoffs.

6th season we just ran away from the other teams and finally after fighting so hard for so long we made it to the BPL.

7th season(first in BPL) was hard but I felt like we did well in finishing 8th in the table.

8th season(2nd in BPL) went really well, was in first most of the year but we dropped some close games at the end. 1-0 to City, 2-1 ManU, drew against the likes of Aston Villa and Norwich. We finished 4th which i was pleased with, we qualified for Champions League Football.

9th season(3rd in BPL) this was the most fun I've had to date on FIFA. Finished forth in the league again. BUT we made the Champions League finals!!! We dispatched Valencia 5-1(agg), PSG 2-1(agg), and Barca 4-2(agg) on our way to the finals against(of course) Bayern Munich!

the game was crazy close on 10 min halves. i led 1-0 at the half 7 shots 3 on target to they're 6 shots 2 on target. The second half i tried to rule possesion but come on its Bayern Munich they scored in the 77th min. In the 88th min Bayern had 3 wonderful looks at goal in a row and my heart sank. I thought surely I would lose then, but LEALI the beast that he is sent them packing and we went to extra time. Stats 15(5) vs 16(7) shots. Extra time was peretty unevent for the most part. Until the 116th min that is, when......GOAL!!!!!! Max Meyer SCORES!!!!!!!!!!! York City wins the CUP over Bayern Munich!!!! 2-1 the final in extra time!

Can't even say how many near heart attacts I had in this game. Honestly the most fun I've ever had playing a video game of any kind.

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

For anyone who may be wondering upon reading my last post. I play on world class with minor sliders taking CPU marking down to 48 and first touch down to 48 and user shot error to 47. I feel like for me this is the best way to play and make it hard while at the same time giving me a chance.

I like to build my team with mostly youth players or really young players that arent good yet. Max Meyer was 68 when I got him, Leali was a 70 or 71. both ended up at 89 ovr after the 9 seasons.

I also had multiple youth players progress nicely, a LM that made it to 87, a CM that made it to 86, a CB made it to 82, I sold a crap LB early in that was a youth player and good lord he shot up to 86 and i sold him when he was 63 and not growing for 1.9 mil.

Also I took wales to euro 2018 and 2018 World Cup but lost in the group stage both times.

Got hired by France in aug of 2018 and made it to the finals of Euro 2020 but lost to Germany. Made it to the 2022 World Cup and WON the World Cup 3-1 over greece!!!

My question would be this - do you find time to sleep??

10 seasons already??? I've just started the 2nd season in CM mode, and I feel like I've caned it this year (although I do play a LOT of Online Friendlies vs mates)

Serious commitment by you. Sounds like you've had a cracking journey too. Well done.

well when I'm in league 2 I only play about 5 of the biggest games. League 1 about 10. Champ roughly 15 and then about half BPL games. Of course I play all Champions league games.

If I played all the games from the lower leagues I'd lose my mind. I could have played more and moved up through the ranks alot quicker but I find it WAY to unrealistic to get so many promotions that close together.

My goal when i started was to get to the BPL after spending 2 years at each level. which in essence I did.

It was a great and thrilling ride. On a side note, I normally play on 6 min halves but I felt that it would be a much greater experience to play the champions league games on 10 min halves, and boy was I right.

                        Now for a new challange

I'd be too worried that I'd lose ;o)

there were more than a few curses thrown around because of loosing simmed games haha

I mostly play away games to give my team a better chance to win. Plus it seems to me that this year when you play a team of lesser quality, they play like offence like Barca and defense like a top BPL side. This pisses me off to points unknown.

still havn't got a new challange. anyone have any suggest a team?

After a few seasons with Spurs (maybe 3) I might drop down and try to get Plymouth Argyle (my local team, although I can't stand them) up through the leagues.

I wanted to get familiar with the new controls/gameplay mechanics first and let the play flow freely before becoming entrenched in turgid lower league battles!
