DropxEm, buy zakaria bakkali, he's really young, but you can get him for cheap and he has 90 potential. He also fits well up top in that 4-4-2 diamond. You can also loan him out if you need to for now.

Danny Kedwell lifting the cup in 2011. Christian Jolley bottom right

AFC Wimbledon - Is Chavez Living in the Past?

As mentioned yesterday, Chavez has signed 30 year old Danny Kedwell and 25 year old Christian Jolley on contract expiry. The two strikers have a few similarities: both are great jumpers, both know how to head the ball well, and both are great finishers. Clearly Chavez was looking for a "target man" for next season. Kedwell may be significantly stronger, but Jolley is significantly faster.

Another similarity between these two players, is that they were both part of the AFC Wimbledon team that achieved promotion to League 2 in 2011. Danny Kedwell was Wimbledon's top scorer and scored the final penalty in the playoff final, while Jolley was an unused substitute for that match. Kedwell was then transferred to his hometown team Gillingham after that, and Jolley was loaned out to Newport County until Newport County signed him permanently.

Danny Kedwell and Christian Jolley will be joining fellow teammates Seb Brown, Jack Midson, and Luke Moore who were also part of that team that achieved promotion in 2011. Not only that, but it is said that Chavez had also sent scouts to look at Kaid Mohamed who was also in the 2011 team and missed his penalty shot versus Luton Town, but this was not confirmed as Chavez did not take any action to sign Mohamed. Looks like Chavez is getting the band back together, but is that really the right move? With the league ending in one month, AFC Wimbledon have secured a playoff spot. It is very likely that they will be playing in the Football League 1 next season. Will these players be at the level to compete in that division? Shouldn't Chavez be looking at players for the future rather than players that were previously released? The fans are more than happy with these signings as many feel that these players should never have been released in the first place, but we have to remember that these players' glory days were in 2011; 3 years ago. If these signings work out and Kedwell becomes Wimbledon's top goal scorer again then it will no doubt be further proof of Chavez's talent as a manager, but if the signings do not work out then Chavez will be undoubtedly questioned. The pressure is on for Chavez and for the 2 strikers as well.

Chavez is expected to schedule a press conference where he will "straighten the matter out." In the meantime, this has been ChicoBass bringing you the exclusive news from South London for HYFCMG, goodnight.

Any feedback/criticizing welcomed! Let me know if I'm doing something wrong or being uninteresting. Thank you!

        5. RC Recreativo - 59 pts
        6. UD Las Palmas - 57 pts

        Press Conference

Q: Deportivo has topped the table for the first time all year. The board felt you were the right job man for the club but they surely couldn't have expected this much success so soon. Are you surprised at all by where this team is at?

A: I wouldn't say that I am surprised. This is a club that was in La Liga only a year ago. There was still plenty of talent left on this team when I took over. I was fortunate enough that this team had several players on the roster that fit my style of play. La Liga is what I had my eyes set on the whole time, and we just need to finish another month where we are and we will see that accomplished.

Q: Pulido is out for 8 weeks. How will your defense hold up while he is out? Who do you expect to fill his spot?

A: Lobo will be his replacement while Pulido is going through the therapy to get healthy again. Obviously you never want to lose one of your defensive starters, but I have confidence in the defense as a unit to be able to get the job done. I don't expect to have to change any tactics or strategies.

Q: Just one month of the season left to go, how would you evaluate your first season as manager so far?

A: I don't think I can fully answer that question just yet. Some of the analysts may say that we have exceeded expectations this season, but I think that remains to be seen. As I said earlier I came in with the goal of promotion, and nothing is guaranteed yet. I will be able to answer this question fully next month.

          Manchester United Career Mode Update

          Crucial Matches:

          Porto 0-0 Man United (CL)

Man City 2-1 Man United (BPL)

Man United 1-0 Chelsea (Capital One Cup Final)

          Man United 2-2 Liverpool

Man United 2-1 Porto (2-1 on aggregate)

The games went well considering De Gea and Lindengrad were injured.
We have been drawn with Real Madrid in the quarter final of Champions League.

          The draw in full:
          PSG vs Barcelona
          Bayern Munich vs Juventus
          Atletico Madrid vs Manchester City
          Manchester United vs Real Madrid

I lead Liverpool and Man City by just a point in the prem with Arsenal and Chelsea 3 points behind. There are only 9 games left in the league.

I clinched my first piece of silverware after a dramatic late Romeron against Chelsea.

I have Real Madrid up next in a action packed April schedule.

I will include the full league table in my next update.

          Any feedback appreciated

Jesus Christ, you guys are ON FIRE. Looks like I'm not needed here anymore, eh? I agree with what Chicobass said a few posts ago, this thread was lively before I got here.

Anyway, some news that might interest you lot. I should have Brighton updates for October and November up tonight or tomorrow. I won't reveal much, but it's safe to say that I'm going to be building my attack around Will Buckley.

From my experience, if you drop points in more than three games, say goodbye to the title. Might be different for you, but that sort of precarious run-in always goes wrong for me when I draw games. And boy, do I end up drawing a lot in the run-in. That's why I like to enter the last month or two with a 4-point gap over second, ideally. Doesn't always happen.

Good luck against Madrid, I never have trouble with Ronaldo. Always Di Maria who screws me over, him and Xabi who tends to shoot from distance. Casillas is also OP in the game (obviously not anymore IRL going by the past two seasons and last night's game vs. Netherlands).

Also, damn you for beating Chelsea.

                    AFC Wimbledon

Very few would have believed this at the beginning of the season, but AFC Wimbledon have secured automatic promotion to the Football League 1 after defeating Northampton 2-0! Here we have Wimbledon manager Chavez for a few quick words in the middle of the celebration:

"It's definitely an amazing feeling to be able to be part of this moment and to give this to the fans who have been with us the whole way. We can't let this distract us though, we still have 4 vital matches left in the season and we'll want to finish strong. The boys have agreed that this is not the moment to celebrate just yet. Mathematically we're promoted, but it's not official until the final match. Anything can happen in these last 4 games so tomorrow morning it's back to work. We have 2 very difficult matches against S****horpe United who are also fighting for promotion coming up."

Any words on the criticism you have received with the signings of Kedwell and Jolley?

"As I've mentioned before there will be a press conference where that will be addressed."

Thank you for your time Mr. Chavez and congratulations!

                    "Don't congratulate me just yet!"
                    ..........

                    Football League 2 Promotion Table
                    1. AFC Wimbledon - 97 points
                    2. Portsmouth - 89 points
                    3. S****horpe United - 86 points
                    4. Chesterfield - 84 points
                    5. Plymouth Argyle - 77 points
                    6. Bristol Rovers -74 points
                    7. Southend United - 72 points

Danny Hylton is currently the league top scorer with 22 goals, but Terry Gornell (Cheltenham Town - 13th place) really exploded mid-season and is right behind Hylton with 21 goals. Cheltenham Town have no chance of achieving promotion but they're doing their best to get the Golden Boot for Gornell. AFC Wimbledon will face S****horpe United this upcoming Tuesday before traveling to Cheltenham where the two top scorers of the league will meet head to head.

For HYFCMG, this has been ChicoBass. Thank you for reading.

Promoting a Championship side without financial takeover is not as easy as some might think it is. I'm just 15 or 16 games in and already annoyed by the relatively poor ball control and passing in this division, including my own. Can't wait to get to the Premiership and start building a team.

Thanks for the response. I just played the first leg against Madrid drew 2-2, since they have the away goals I need to win in the second leg, will be challenging. Ronaldo and Benzema both got a brace. It was strange seeing RVP and Vidic coming of the bench in Madrid shirts.

As for the Premier league I comfortably beat Newcastle and since Liverpool and City drew against each other I now have a 3 point lead over Chelsea, City,Liverpool and Arsenal. With an easy run in I feel we can lift the trophy. And hopefully do the treble.

                        The F.A Cup draw:

                        Man United vs Man City
                        Chelsea vs Northampton

Still can't believe that Northampton got this far. If I do overcome Man City it will be a tough match against Chelsea.

Won't be updating as much due to the World Cup.

I picked up 3 free contracts that will be joining next season.

                          RB Mario Gaspar
                          GK Fabian Giefer
                          CDM Jorge Enriquez

They should help shore up my defense.

Deportivo has a ridiculously low starting budget.

I'm a little worried that I may lose my striker who led the league in scoring since I'm sure a lot of teams will come asking and I may need some money to fund some transfers if I do make La Liga.

                            Press Conference

Q: Congratulations on achieving promotion to La Liga. As we touched on last press conference, how would you evaluate your first season in charge now that it has come to an end.

A: First of all thank you. I would like to think this was exactly how I saw this season going. I knew coming in that this team was a La Liga quality team just last year, and that it wouldn't take many changes to get them right back there. The players went above and beyond all I expected from them and we didn't even have to fight through the playoffs to get promoted. I couldn't be prouder of this group and this season will always be a special one for me.

Q: Now that you have achieved promotion, do you think you can avoid relegation like what happened the last season Deportivo was in the top level?

A: We have a few players coming in next season that will help our defense be a little more solid. I am also looking a few other players to bring in right now that could really help this team perform in La Liga. I won't expand much further on that right now, but you will see.

Q: A few teams tried to lure you away during the last season. Now that you have moved up with Deportivo, do you see yourself moving on to another or bigger club?

A: Deportivo is my home right now. You can right this down. I will NOT leave. This club and these players mean too much to me to walk away. We have something special here and there is still a long way for us to go.

I started a CM with Santos FC and am currently 10 games into the season sitting at 7-2-1. Love the game so far but I would like to start up another CM with a well established club either in the Premier League or in La Liga. Any suggestions?

They should help shore up my defense.

Deportivo has a ridiculously low starting budget.

I'm a little worried that I may lose my striker who led the league in scoring since I'm sure a lot of teams will come asking and I may need some money to fund some transfers if I do make La Liga.

Jorge enriquez is great! Grows really well too. The only thing about him, is that because of his high/high work rates he tends to push forward a lot. This annoyed me sometimes but he's got that engine trait so you'll see him running from box to box all game. Great signings!
