Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

My Exeter City Manager Mode has improved.

We're only in 15th/16th, with 15 points, but we've been on a serious upswing and 15th is only 4-5 points out of a playoff spot. Artur Krysiak (GK) apparently wants out, but he's been mostly stellar so far.

I've changed up the lineup. Replacing 58 OVR RM David Wheeler is 60 OVR Matt Oakley, who has terrible stamina. Wheeler is now a sub, and I've found another unknown key role player in Jimmy Gosling (55 OVR, LM).

Jamie Reid, the 54 OVR ST sub, has been phenomenal. He actually leads the team in assists, is second with 2 goals, and comes on nearly every match for a disappointing Sam Parkin.

John O'Flynn leads the team with 4 goals.

    Best Game of the Season:
I think we were playing Torquay, may have been Blackburn Rovers or Hartlepool or something. Anyway, we go down in the fourth minute 1-0. I'm pretty sure it was Torquay.

Sam Parkin gets a clearance from our box on the other side of the center line. He plays a sweet throughball to Aaron Davies (who's been a rock at CAM). Davies manages to push past a defender and, falling back towards the touchline parallel to the box, loops a cross to the trailing Parkin who heads home FOR HIS FIRST GOAL (7-10 games in) of the year. 58th minute.

Later in the game, after I've subbed in Reid for Parkin, Davies plays a ball up to Reid a meter of so from the north-south edge of the box. Reid manages to float a ball in towards O'Flynn, who is between Reid and the keeper. O'Flynn manages to flick it past the keeper for a huge three points in the 83rd minute.

      Press Conference

Q: You did much better and managed to take some points this month. Is this the sign of a turn around? Or will the results revert to the mean going forward?

A: This is how I knew this team is capable of playing. I believe that we can maintain this form going forward. All of the players' confidence has gone up and now they can see what I saw in them all along. I expect them to only keep getting better from here on out.

Q: Suso has been the man in form this month. He even took home the La Liga player of the month. How important is he to this team?

A: Suso has been nothing short of outstanding. He was the main target I wanted to get this past summer and I am so happy that we were able to get a deal done for him. This is a special player and everyone can see why I went through such lengths to bring him in.

Q: Seone's agent has come out and said his client wants out due to lack of playing time. Do you think you will complete a deal in the January window to see him out? Or do you plan on having him play out his contract?

A: I hate that he isn't happy here. Mario Gaspar has been in amazing form lately and Seone has unfortunately taken a back seat to the man on fire right now. If he isn't happy I will be meeting with him and we will come to a conclusion on how to get him into the best situation for him, whether that be here or elsewhere. If he is to leave I will most likely be looking at some loan options to bring in depth for the defense.

Yeah it was an unfortunate month. Luckily I was able to turn things around a bit the next month as you will see above. I appreciate the tips on the tactics. It has definitely helped. But, after that improved month, my next match is Real Madrid.

Yeah, the results are quite good. Going into February, I'm second to QPR with a 10-point gap, but I have four over Leeds. Should be an exciting end to the season whether or not the R's slip up. I'm really confident about Mutch, playing him in the pivot of the 4-2-3-1 now and in a 4-3-3 next season.

I had one look at his strength and heading ability, that's all it took to convince me. He's rated as 'excellent' form for Arsenal so far this season, so I hope he's been banging the goals in already. Should hold up well as a lone striker in a 4-3-3.

That's what I love about the lower leagues. There can often be just 4-5 points separating 10 or 12 places, which makes it so much better for anyone trying to break into the upper part of the table. Also adds pressure on anyone at the top without a huge gap over the teams below, which is what I'm facing with Brighton right now.

Glad to see Parkin come good, I really feel for strikers who try but can't get goals. I hope he can keep up the good form, a few more goals from him and you could be safely in a promotion spot by Christmas.

            My Man C Career:-
So we had some mixed results in our first few games with a win and a draw
            After the draw against Cardif-
Reporter: This wasnt the level of performance expected particularly after that 3-0 win against Newcastle. What is going on with the team?

Me: They are a young breed who dont have much expirience. They are only now coming out of their shells. They will take time to know how to handle the mental aspects of the game.

Him: Do you expect a win against Hull?

            Me: Well try our best.

Him: What do you have to say about gnarby signing?

Me: Hes a talented young lad who can help our team.

            Him: Good luck against Hull

We beat Hull 1-0 and then lost to Shef. Wed. 2-1 in the co cup

Reporter: The Hull match was great and muriel got his first goal but the shef match wasnt convincing and it was your first loss. How will you react to that?

Me: Well i fielded a young team as our objective is to get into europe and so i had to rest my best for the next league match.

Him: What do you think you have to do in order to stop your team from losing their lead?

Me: That is not something i can do. It comes with expirence. They will know how to handle the situations as time goes on.

            Him: Thanks for your time.

Thank you for reading. Stay tuned for more. And some feedback would be appreciated. I know my career isnt as attractive as the other ones, but im just a newbie and i m sure i will start to make good posts but if you could give me some feedback it would be well appreciated. Thank You.

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

              The Black Cats' Adventure

So, ladies and gentleman, it is that time of the year, when there is a lot of transfer gossip and managerial changes. It isn't any different with Sunderland, who appointed their new manager - Mr.Billy, on July 1st. Even though Gus Poyet saved the Black Cats from the dangerous position he put them in, the board decided they want a new man.
Mr.Billy doesn't have an amazing managerial career, but he led a few lower league teams to crucial promotions and is considered as one of the most exciting english managers. Well, he knows it, we all know it, Sunderland is not an easy job, but he finally has a chance to spark on the big scene.

              First press conference :

Questioner : So, Mr.Billy.. How do you feel, you are now part of the Premier League?
Billy : Hello to everybody, I am Billy, the new manager of Sunderland AFC. Yeah, it does feel great being part of the Premier League and especially when it's with a club with such great history as Sunderland.
Questioner : Okay, so as we all know, this is the first time you are leading a PL team therefore you are quite unknown by the fans. Diffirent managers work differently, how do you work, what is your style??
Billy : Yeah. I mean, first off I need to get used to the league, to the high tempo etc. When it comes to the way I work, I let my players know that anyone can come to me with anything. I am a dream chaser. I like my players to keep the ball, be confident. It doesn't matter if we are playing vs Cardiff or vs Man City, I want the boys to give 100%. Of course, as I told you, at first it will take time to get used.
Questioner : Your personal goals for this season??
Billy : Well, it's quite early to say. Of course, the first and most importang thing is making sure we stay in the Premier League. From then on, if things go our way, you never know.. Top 10 finish is completely possible. Thank you for all questions, but it's time to get things going.
Questioner : Thanks for your time, Mr.Billy.

So, what do you guys think?? Hopefully I can make some cool summer signings and have a good season. BTW sorry about my english, it's definitely not prefect haha.

Manchester United Career Mode Update #5

Managed to solve the career mode problem quicker then expected.
Here are the results of my latest matches:

Real Madrid 2-3 Man United (I went through 4-5 on aggregate)

Great end to end match were I came back from 2-1 behind courtesy of a late Candreva brace, Candreva all ways seems to score in crucial matches.
Substitute Danny Welbeck, yes that's right Danny Welbeck scored the other goal.

                  Man United 4-1 Hull City

                  Crystal Palace 0-2 Man United

Man City 1-2 Man United (F.A Cup semi-final)

Revenge is sweet, Benzema scored both goals for us, and we survived a late scare in a very tense match.

                  Premier League top 5:
                  P
                  33 MAN UNITED - 72 (points)

                  35 Liverpool - 64
                  33 Arsenal - 63

                  Bottom 5:
                  P
                  34 Hull City - 31 (points)
                  35 West Brom - 27
                  35 Crystal Palace - 24
                  34 Leister City - 23
                  34 Burnley - 21

                  Champions League draw:

                  Barcelona vs Man United
                  Bayern Munich vs Man City

                  Europa League draw:
                  Valencia vs Napoli
                  Marseille vs Seville

                  Fa Cup final:
                  Man United vs Chelsea

                  Next Match: Barcelona (a)

I will do a much more lengthy update next time, which will probably be the end of the season.
                  Any feedback appreciated

Time to make a run for back-to-back promotions. The only thing that will suck about that is that in the current league you get to play MK Dons at least 2 times a year now.

                      The Black Cats' Adventure

                      Summer

                      Transfers :

                      In :
                      J.Brooks - 2,600,000£
                      F.Sorensen - 2,000,000£ + Wes Brown
3 scouts who will seek for young talent in England, Spain and Italy.

                      Out :
                      W.Brown (part of a deal)
                      I.Scocco - 3,400,000£ [Aston Villa]
                      C.Cuéllar - 1,500,000£ [Stoke City]
And 6 other youngsters out on loan..

                      Frienlies :

                      FC Nantes 4 - 1 Suderland

                      Sunderland 1 - 0 Udinese

                      Athletic Bilbao 2 - 1 Sunderland

Some pretty quality teams we faced that pre-season. Just upset about that first game, we conceded 4 goals. The defence was shaky. But from then on, the boys did well against well better opposition like Udinese and Bilbao.

Improvements/downgrades so far (not counting loaned out players) :

                      V.Manonne - 74 OVR (+2)
                      F.Sorensen - 72 OVR (+2)
                      J.O'Shea - 74 OVR (-1)
                      S.Ki - 75 OVR (+1)
                      F.Borini - 73 OVR (+1)
                      J.Brooks - 72 OVR (+1)
                      J.Colback - 71 OVR (+1)
                      O.Çelutska - 68 OVR (+1)

NEXT GAME : 1st game of the PL season - vs QPR (I put the teams that got promoted IRL and relegated the ones that did IRL)

Yeah. I've known Sorensen pretty much since the beginnig of FIFA 14 so I had him always in mind when doing such a Career, while I found out about Brooks through the World Cup, and.. damn what a player this lad is gonna be!

                            My Question to You:

What do you think caused this slip in form in the month of November?

Bonus Question: As the January Transfer Window at this point is only a month away, who do you want to see join Bayer 04?
I'd say that November was just a lapse. Every team goes through it sometime, you're doing very well to be joined first with Bayern.

And also, to help answer the bonus question, how much funds do you have?

I suggest getting someone in at CAM, Can is a great player IRL and highly underrated on this game, but I would get someone a little more experienced and maybe wait a season or two for Can to grow. Or even give competition to Can if you don't want to drop him.

By the way, how's Wollscheld doing for you?
Considering getting him to add depth and competion to CB.

Good luck in the league and window, hope I've been helpful.

I didn't think I could get promoted this year but looking at the way we hit the ground running I think we can Yeah playing MK twice kind of takes away it's shine but, at least now I can contribute to their relegation haha they fought for promotion to the championship last season but this season they're really disappointing.

Perfect scenario would be playing them this year in the promotion playoff.
