Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Unfortunately my Sporting CP Manager Career broke in Second Season. Corrupted save and not possible to recover
.
Had to start new one, with once a mighty team, but now they have fallen...
On a search to find new talismans, like Benzema, Lloris, Juninho... You know the club right?
Yep. The mighty Olympique Lyonnais!
Doing video series as waiting for FIFA 15 would kill me otherwise.

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
NOVEMBER
BUNDESLIGA
Freiburg 4–0 Frankfurt
Sonny Kittel started for the 1st time against his former club as I was able to field a strong side, thanks to an up and coming international break. I made the slight tactical switch though, of Kittel moving over to the right, with Volland going over to the left. It was tight early on, with neither side creating too much, but Kittel gave me the lead in the 28th minute with a superbly taken half volley. Sneijder then doubled my advantage just before the break, fooling the defender before powerfully finishing across the keeper. Holtby grabbed a third 9 minutes from time when his header hit the underside of the bar and went in, and sub Sidney Sam got the 4th from a rebound that initially denied Locadia.
Augsburg 1–5 Freiburg
I had the surprise of looking at the table before this game to see that I was top, 2 clear of Bayern, so I was keen to keep the good form going. Alex Telles returned from injury, so he was on the bench. I started off slowly, but took the lead in the 17th minute when Volland took 2 attempts to turn in Sneijder’s cross. In the 39th minute though, I was pegged back. Brooks misjudged the flight of an over the top ball and Rudnevs capitalised, with a good finish past Begovic. But moments before the interval, a terrible mistake from Ochoa in the Augsburg net allowed centre back Hohn to score from about 40 yards, something you don’t see too often. I had the lead at the break, and increased it just after, with Vukusic drawing tackles, slipping it into Sam who simply squared it to Sneijder for his 2nd in as many games. Alex Telles came on for a run out, and in the 80th minute his shot was parried into the path of Vukusic who nodded in the 4th. Telles, playing in the LW position, scored himself on his return, mainly thanks to some brilliant running late in the day from Willems.
UEFA Champions League
Liverpool 1–4 Freiburg
The biggest weak in the history of Freiburg. A Champions League tie at Anfield followed by a top of the table clash against Bayern Munich at the weekend. Just 3 minutes in and I was already 1-0 down. Sterling’s header hit the post, and it fell straight to Sturridge to tap in. Fortunately though, just 7 minutes later I was level. Kittel’s pin point cross found the head of Locadia who sent the header past the standing Lloris. Kittel was making his presence known, and after assisting Locadia for the equaliser, he put us in front with a drilled finish from a really tight angle. Then in the 31st minute, I got a 3rd. Willems with a surging run down the left and a perfectly positioned cross for Locadia to run on to and thump home using his head. Into the 2nd half and switched to a counter attacking mentality, drawing Liverpool in and then breaking quickly. I did just that in the 54th minute, with Darida sliding the ball through to Locadia, who rifled it past Lloris to complete his hat trick. I went ultra-defensive and passed the ball around with consummate ease until the final whistle, to cap a magical night of football.
BUNDESLIGA
Freiburg 2–1 Bayern Munich
After the fantastic away win at Liverpool, I turned my attention to the Bundesliga champions, a game that would of course be extremely difficult to win. RVP asked to play, and given that Locadia was a little low on stamina, his wish was granted. I had them on the ropes early on, and a fine cross from Sneijder found the unmarked Kittel who headed past Neuer to give me the lead. But Bayern responded just the way you would expect from champions, Falcao equalising with a cool finish off the post and in. In reality, the game was very dull, and had a draw written all over it. But in the 74th minute, I regained the lead through Van Persie, well positioned in the middle to receive the ball from Volland, and head home at the near post. Bayern didn’t threaten after surprisingly, leaving me with a clear path to a 2-1 win and a 5 point lead at the top of the table.
Standings at the end of November (all teams have played 17 games)
1) Freiburg 43 points
2) Bayern Munich 38 points
3) Schalke 36 points
4) Leverkusen 35 points
5) Dortmund 32 points
6) M’gladbach 31 points
UCL standings after 5 games
1) Freiburg 10 points
2) Liverpool 9 points
3) Lyon 7 points
4) Zenit 3 points
Squad report: A simply fantastic month, capped off with marvellous victories against Liverpool and Bayern. The whole squad really is performing well, and Sneijder must have heard me criticise him because he has been excellent this month. Kittel has truly shown his class and we have benefited from the return of Telles. Locadia’s hat trick against Liverpool confirms him as a big time player, and Van Persie’s winner against Bayern demonstrated exactly why I bought him into the club. I can confirm that this will definitely be my last season at Freiburg, regardless of whether I win the UCL. It is still my objective and I will do my best to try, but I feel a new challenge is awaiting me, and that I have done all I can for Freiburg. They’ve been transformed from a 2. Bundesliga side to a European powerhouse and it has been by far the most amount of fun I’ve had playing Fifa this year.
Transfers: This will only be brief, but as I’m now in December, the transfer window is just around the corner. I won’t be making major signings, nor will I focus on pre-contract players seeing as I won’t be here next season. I’m targeting a back-up right back for Bamba. The man I want is Diekmeier, who played fantastically against me for Hamburg earlier on in the season. I’m also going to try and get Fellaini. Having managed him at United, it would be a realistic buy in my eyes, and I feel I need a physical presence in the midfield. His contract expires at the end of the year anyway so I can get him on the cheap.
If you guys have any other suggestions for the positions I’m after then please let me know as I want to get you more involved with my careersLast edited by Jwetson; 08-22-2014, 01:07 PM.Comment

SpoilerAthletic Bilbao Crowned as Copa Del Rey Champions!
After winning the League title Real Madrid were looking to get the Spanish double in the Copa del Rey final against Athletic Bilbao. The Basque side were looking to get their 24th cup trophy and their first cup title since 1984. Athletic Club managed to reach the final in 2012 but FC Barcelona tore them apart in the game that finished 3-0. As a revenge Bilbao knocked out the Catalonian side in the semi finals.
Real Madrid were the clear favourites in the match but surprisingly Athletic dominated the game. The Basques started the game well when Benat got a pass from Balenziaga on the left flank. The midfielder crossed the ball in, looking for Iker Muniain who had moved to the middle. The Basque Messi, as they call him in Bilbao, decided not to head the ball. The young winger went for a beautiful finish with a bicycle kick! Muniain hit the ball perfectly and it flew to the top right corner past Casillas in goal. The Basque side got a spectacular start to the game. Real Madrid needed to score a goal but they didn't have any chances to score. The Whites were unmotivated and their game was boring and dull. Their best chance came in the 68th minute when Cristiano Ronaldo put a shot just wide of the post.
Something amazing happened, when Gancherribia made a substitution in the 71st minute. The manager subbed on Carlos Gurpegi, the team captain who was dropped in December from the starting eleven. After the final whistle Gurpegi kissed Gancherribia who was jumping and shouting with the players. Athletic Bilbao had won their first major trophy since 1984!

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Simp I think at least one more season with Bilbao would be good especially since you qualified to the CL. It'd be interesting to see how you handle all 3 competitions next season.vrabbit

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
I think I'm going to just play out the rest of the Alcorcon season because realizing I'm so close to May is making me itch to get there. After April it'd just be 3 more games till the end of the season so I'd just wrap up the season and then go pick up the Dagenham CM at the beginning of March.vrabbit

Looks good but for next time, how about we see their overall stat instead of their number? Gives us a better idea of what you're working withyou can still post their jersey numbers, but it would be great to see their overall as well.

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
This. If you have two strikers that you want to keep on the field together, instead of playing one in a position where he will just be hurting the team try changing up the formation to one that will work for all or your players. The 4-2-2-2 is an excellent recommendation for the squad you're currently working with. Attaboy Regens!Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
You support Arsenal, I support Chelsea, and I'm telling you categorically there's nobody currently playing who has Bergkamp's skill set. There is no comparison. He is the greatest number 10 to play in England. Zola, Cantona, Best and Gascoigne are close behind him. Closest you can hope to go on the game is Fabregas or RVP himself. Robin was always closer to being like Dennis than like Henry.Comment

We are so inconsistent, Sometimes we play like stars, but the other game we just get beat up and are lucky to score a goal.
The new guys up front are doing okay, They are the biggest inconsistancy, Carassco comes in alot at the left wing and he is so good for his OVR (68 from the top of my head) He is really quick and has a killer shot.
Our goals for the season (Didnt show them yet)

Press Conference
Indi, a very good couple of months for you. Do you think you can make the jump to the Premier League next season?
There's a very long way to go, folks. As much as we would love to be in the top flight, as much as we realise that we are contenders for one of the three spots that will make that happen, we want to put that to one side of our heads and take things one game at a time.
You had some very interesting results in November, not least of which was the 7-2 destruction of Birmingham.
You have to give credit to the Birmingham players, because they are a decent side. It just wasn't their day, and we felt so good that everything we tried came off. As much as it's uplifting to be leading 6-0 at halftime, it's equally demoralising to be down that many. Birmingham could have given up and conceded another six, but they fought back as best they could. We only got one in the second 45 minutes, but they got two. I refuse to say that we destroyed them.
And then you score six against Blackpool in the next game, pouring rain and all.
Blackpool played very negatively that game. Two of their players were dismissed with straight reds, but I thought another one should have gone as well. Of course, the man advantage played its part, but we have it in us to score plenty of goals. If only we could stop conceding so many, we'll be alright.
But that month, you scored 21 goals and conceded just nine. Isn't that good?
Of course it is, but look at the bigger picture. We're not always going to score seven goals in a game, but we have been conceding regularly. We need to kick the habit and really shore up our defensive play, or we risk our chances of promotion.
You did well after that, conceding just six in December.
And just three of those goals cost us a total of four points. I know I sound like a spoilt brat who wants every last crumb of his birthday cake all for himself, but I have very high standards. If I ever find myself satisfied with 14 points instead of 18 from six games, I won't manage another day. There is always room for improvement. That said, I can acknowledge when I've been outsmarted and outplayed. Stoke gave us a real game. I said earlier that they are still Premier League quality; they just had some bad luck last season, or they'd still be a division up. There's no shame in losing to a team that plays as well as Stoke does.
A few weeks ago, Gary Neville said that Sam Baldock and Scott Wagstaff aren't up to scratch for this level of football. Your thoughts?
I have only respect for Gary. He wouldn't have said what he did unless he truly believed it, and he would only believe it based on what he's seen, but you have to consider that he doesn't know these players like I do. With all due respect to Gary, he only knows half the story. I'm extremely satisfied with Scott's performances. He might not be scoring as regularly as he did last season, but he offers plenty more than just goals. As for Sam, I'll let his 20 goals do the talking.
I hate to sound like a broken record every presser, but what do you make of Anthony Martial?
The kid is 18 years old, and he has 20 goals and 10 assists in 26 league games, which means he's had a direct hand in 50% of the goals we've scored. He has strength, skill, pace and confidence that lets him play like a seasoned professional in his mid-20s. I can't see anything but amazing things for Tony, and I only hope that he achieves that potential with us.
January is upon us, and that means transfers. Is it true you're looking to sign Ben Foster from West Brom.
At this time, Ben is still contracted to West Brom. It would be wrong of me to speak of any interest we may or may not have in him.
I presume you won't be commenting on Ross McCormack either, then?
I won't be saying anything about anyone who's not part of Bristol City Football Club, whether that's Ross McCormack or Lionel Messi.
Fine. Tell us why Greg Cunningham has been listed for transfer. What's this about? We all expected you to sell Brendan Moloney.
Greg has found himself on the periphery of our first team for some weeks now, for reasons I do not wish to make public, and it's been made clear to him that we feel it best for him to seek a fresh challenge. Nobody is sure just yet as to where he will be on February 1, but it will not be with us. As for Brendan, what kind of inconsiderate jerk do you think I am, that I would sell a player simply because he gets injured a bit? When we were relegated last season, he remained with us. How could I betray him and push him out the door at a time when we are supposed to be taking care of him? Brendan is very much a part of this club, injured or not.
Will you be bringing in a replacement at left back?
Joe Bryan will be taking up that role. He's much better there than in midfield, thanks mostly to his excellent defensive ability and physical condition. He's also a brilliant crosser of the ball. This will allow Santi Aguirre to come into the first team in midfield.
Speaking of Aguirre, how is he coming along?
When we promoted him from the academy last season, none of us expected him to break into the first team so quickly, but the lad has done just that. Santi's talent is the reason he's appeared in 18 of our 26 league games, as well as all our cup matches. It was great to watch him score his first goal for us against Barnsley, earning us a point in the process, but I'm struck most by his mental strength. For a 17-year-old lad to focus only on football when his family is thousands of miles away is a special thing. He's a credit to himself and his family, and we are all so proud of him.
Marlon Pack was on the fringes of the first team for a long time and made his first appearance this season only against Barnsley. Why's that?
Unfortunately for Marlon, he was simply not good enough in preseason to merit a spot in the squad once competition began. His work ethic suffered for a few months, but he recently signed a long-term extension and is in much better spirits. I wanted to reward him for his patience, and the need to rest Liam Kelly for that crucial game against Stoke allowed him that opportunity. I can't say he will be holding down the position, but I saw enough to know that he will be closer to the first team in the second half of the season.
Final topic – Chelsea in the semi-finals of the Capital One Cup. Nervous?
I'm bricking myself! Chelsea are a fine side. They're top of the Premier League table by six points, and now we have the joy of two legs against them for a trophy that means more to us than it does to them. It's not going to be easy, but we will give it 100%. Hopefully, that is enough.
You'll face either Liverpool or Swansea in the final should you get past Chelsea. Depending on how the Premier League goes, just reaching the final may not be enough for you to make the Europa League.
And it shouldn't be. If you want a prize, you need to earn it all the way. It sounds fair to me that if we want to participate in the Europa League next season, we need to win the trophy. In addition, it will be lovely to claim my first piece of silverware with this magnificent club.
Alright, Indi. Thanks for your time. Good luck for the rest of the season.
Thanks, fellas. Have a good one.Comment
