Career mode killer: CPU Spurs sold all their goalkeepers except one. They ended up last in the league since he got injured and only played 13 games.

What are you doing, replying to posts from 2013

I agree though. No matter where you are you need 2 GKs. I have never seen that in my careers though. Quite the opposite actually the CPU will overload on positions they don't need. Man that would be a total CM killer!

Slightly off topic but who do you guys think was the biggest loser in the transfer window? IMO it was Real Madrid. They lost arguably their best player from last season in Di Maria and a pivot in Xabi Alonso. Now they have Khedira (INJURED AGAIN), James (Underperforming), Kroos, Modric, Isco and Illaramendi, all of whom are attacking minded players. Khedira could've been used but apparently he just suffered a big injury during training so now RM have NO defensive mids, which is suicide if they want to win the CL again. They should've taken a hint from Arsenal (I had to say it Regens lol).

I'm really impressed with your league results. Hoping you can pick up the Europa League results though. Although if you get knocked out early and can put your focus into league play you may be able to challenge for a Champions League position if you keep up the current form.

Thanks man! I hadn't looked at the league table until close to the end of the month and I couldn't believe I was there! When I played Southampton I was actually just 3, THREE!!, points away from 1st place but of course Southampton took me down and refused to give me at least a second of joy. I'm really hoping I can pick it up in the Europa. I need those matches for the B team since most of them have their morale barely at Content.

Good luck with your career! Sucks you couldn't achieve promotion you weren't too far away from a playoff spot. How did your youth develop in that season that you brought in short term players to give your youth time?

They are coming along really well. I'll try to put up a squad update for the new season tonight. I think with the moves I made in the transfer market this offseason though I've set myself up for a good season.

Also created a new formation that combines the things I liked about the two old formations. I'll go more into that later.

Okay so I was trying to figure out a way to get my best players on the field at the same time, but also play a formation I liked. With the 5-3-2 I really liked having the two strikers working with the CAM. While with the 4-3-3 I really like the width of the attack. The other problem was finding a place for Abel Molinero since he didn't do as well out side and played better in a central position due to his pace.

So I went into the formation screens and starting looking through the different formations and I saw the tighter version of the 4-4-2 diamond formation. I decided to edit this a little.

First I went in and moved the two strikers all the way to the corners of the penalty area to spread it out a bit, but not so wide as to be wingers. Then i moved the CAM up to sit behind the gap between the strikers, almost far enough forward to become a CF. I decided that Molinero would be great on the left side of the midfield formation since it would still be in tight enough that he wouldn't be having to run in space trying to beat people.

Here is the final product.

Surely that squad is premier league bound?! I think you are in a good spot right now but promotion is a must this year no? To me if those academy products develop well you could be mid-table in the premier league if and when you get there! great job Tex!

Thanks, I appreciate the feedback! After only finishing mid table last season I made an effort to fill out this squad to not only have a good starting XI, but to have the depth for the season as well. I think I've done a good job of putting together something that can push through the season and be effective no matter who is in the lineup and can adapt to injuries as well.

I'll be extremely disappointed in myself if I fail to get promoted though. That is the ultimate goal right now and I want to accomplish it so bad!

Besides, I've got to catch up to ChicoBass! He's edging himself into position to make the Champions League and I'm still sitting in the Championship!
