Went down early to Juanfran goal. But Bale answered right back knifing into the box for a left footed shoot from 5 yards out & then less then 10 min later with a right footed shot from 18 yards out. Just brilliant! Great game

Hi lads,
I have started a career with Hartlepool in league 2 and im struggling to score goals. I play on world class, make lots of oportunities however I cant make any use of them with my players
I have a decent striker 65 rated but he doesnt score as much as expected.
Its January transfer window and I have to sign somebody to rescue me from 14th place. I have only a small budget of €400,000 and wage of €4000.
I was thinking about buying Miyachi from Arsenal as he has only 6 months left of his contract but the wages are to damn high. Do you know any players except defenders that are good and cheap? Waiting for a quick reply!

Sigh, for the last time I'm starting a new CM, but this should be the one to stand the test of time. I swapped York with Rangers, then Rangers with Arsenal. I then swapped the rosters of the two so Rangers are now a 5* team and Arsenal has been reduced to 1.5*. The only issue that arose was with players that were out on loan but my plan is to either sell them for dirt cheap once they return or release them from their contracts altogether. With this I can now play as my favorite club, in a dope *** stadium, with nice looking kits. Everything I could possibly want in a CM.

I wanted to bring Neal Maupay back as he has great potential but doesn't start as high as his contemporaries. However, in the time I had him he started every game and only increased by 1 where as every other player on my squad, even those that were already at their potentials, went up by 2. Looking online it seemed that his growth would be a roll of the dice as some people got lots of growth, very slow growth, or none at all. I didn't feel like risking the disappointment down the line so I just went with Benzia instead. With the same playing time he's already grown 2 points and he seems to suit my play style better so I'm happy with it.

I didn't feel like playing through yet ANOTHER 17 games, plus cup matches so I just simmed the first 17 games. After simming I was first in the league and ahead by 2. The first two games I played were the JPT Round of 16 against Crewe Alexandria, and my first FA Cup match against Wycombe. The Crewe match was a B.S. 2-1 loss. Playing on Legendary I kept the User & CPU accel the same and it was what I expected: speed is fine but my players have a delay in initiating their movement. I said whatever and tried to deal with it the best I could. Out of curiosity I played the Wycombe game on World Class and lo and behold, my movement was what it should be. Now Crewe is a 1.5* team compared to Wycombe's 1*, but between them the accels of their players is comparable, and definitely doesn't exceed that of some of my players, so I don't know. I'm not sure whether I want to just play on WC with even accels or Legendary with them staggered. I can deal with the delayed movement but it's just not fun. The sight of Jordan Obita being ran down by Abdul Osman like a cheetah chasing a water buffalo is very frustrating.

Anyway, my participation in those cup matches put me behind by a game but 2nd place Hartlepool only managed a tie so if I can manage a win I'll be ahead by 4. At the same point in my Rangers CM I was concerned with my scoring and whether the difference in accel was giving me an unfair advantage but after simming I had 36 GF, 11 GA, 23 GD which is 13 more than the 2nd highest GD. However there was one anomalous game with Rangers where I scored 9 goals (I lost my temper in the last 15 mins of a game and dropped the CPU speed and accel to 0). 36 is a little less than what I would have had I played those games myself, so I'm pretty sure I just had the better team. so something happened to the external harddrive i had my bolton career saved on. lost my scout a future star and lost my other super prospect. decided to just start one with Real Madrid. going to try and run this one as realistically as possible, so that means signing suarez/falcao in january or the summer. also possibly shipping out di maria (has been acting up in the preseason too! haha) possibly launching a bid for pogba in january too...seen a few reports linking him to Real.

anyhow, 12 games in, I am 11-1-0. Barca is 8 points back. made the champions league groups as close to real life as i can. I currently stand first after 3 games with 9. Juve with 6.


anyone have any potential Galacticos I should sign? looking to build a squad that Real would actually have irl. so don't suggest Gotze, Messi, etc. lol

So I started my Cesena Career Mode. The FIRST thing I did was buy Luke Shaw (70 OVR) from Southampton for 2 MILLION DOLLARS. He wasn't highly valued right? Played him every game for 3 seasons. Early in season 4 (now an 85), he turned down my contract extension because "he saw bigger and better things in his future". So, I raised his contract offer to $115,000 a week. He accepted. Things are going great. January transfer window hits and he messages me to sell him. Are you kidding me? Then I get two offers from Barcelona and Real Madrid, both 17 million. Hell no, I asked for 28 million considering his value was 26. Then I advance one day and it said player sold. I was confused. I check my inbox and the CLUB SOLD HIM TO ARSENAL FOR 19 MILLION. WOW. Club loyalty should really hold a spot in this mode.

Update on Nottingham Forest, season 3

I had a look through my squad report and saw that Forster has kept only seven clean sheets in 26 games this season. The three at the back venture is now cancelled, and I've moved to 4-5-1 attack.

The January window passed, and nobody bought Oscar. This means I'm left with a somewhat imbalanced squad: no backup wingers or left back, and too many central midfield players and centre halves. I also have Mutch and Oscar, both Crucial 1st Team Players, who need to fit into most matchday squads.

As of late February, I'm third in the EPL with 54 points from 25 games. I also tasted my first defeat of the season, losing to West Brom 2-1 at home. I had just a day's rest between my FA Cup round of 16 game against Reading and the Brom game, and my players were knackered by the second half, so not too upset there.

I'm through to the QF of the FA Cup (opponent TBA), and drew to Sporting CP 1-1 in the first leg of the Euro League R32. It was at home, so Sporting have the advantage as it stands. I need to go to Lisbon and grab two early away goals to get into a stronger position.

Traore is league leader in both goals and assists, burying 16 and setting up 11. He's on fire, and I had to fight the urge to send a counter-offer to a massive bid of £24 million from PSG. Forster was wanted by a couple of German clubs, I think Wolfsburg and Schalke. Despite some tidy offers around £10 million, I turned them down.

I didn't sign anyone on a free, which was rather foolish. I had £180,000 in wages and could have easily made one stellar signing, but I decided to take that budget into next year. With the 2016-17 budget, plus money I should get from selling Oscar and a few others in the summer, I can really revamp the squad to suit the needs of playing Champions Cup football. I'm going to use the time between now and then to try out my customised formations, and build a squad in the summer that can handle playing in any of those.

By my estimation, I'll need the following:

- 2 goalkeepers, one a starter and the other a developing backup
(Forster, Mutch)

- 3-4 central defenders
(Dier, Martinez, Lascelles, plus one CB with 70+ pace)

- 4 full backs, with at least one capable of playing on both flanks
(Clyne, Cresswell, Byram, plus one LB with 4-5* weak foot)

- 2 defensive midfielders
(Ince, Chalobah)

- 2 box-to-box midfielders (high stamina)
(Lansbury, Medel)

- 2 attacking midfielders
(Mutch, plus one CAM with 70+ shooting and passing)

- 4 wide players (RM, LM, RW, LW)
(Biabiany, Mackay-Steven, plus two pacey wide men)

- 4 strikers (one each of target man, speedster, poacher, all-rounder)
(Traore: target man, Andrade: speedster, Sanogo: poacher, plus one ST: all-rounder)

With this, I can shuffle between variants of 4-3-3, 4-5-1, and 4-4-2 without much issue. I just need to sort contracts and squad roles properly, and I should (ideally) be able to challenge for the title.

Nightmare Booster has inspired me to throw away the last week worth of play and start my final career mode for a long while.

I am going to swap Chicago Fire with Torquay United, currently worst in FL2 and then Chicago Fire with Manchester United. This way I can play as my favorite team and try to catch up to my 2nd favorite team, the Fire while they are tearing up the BPL with Man U players.

I am going to add 1 player to my Torquay-based Man United squad. Zach Benson created player aged 19 (65) 90 POT.

I also add in 35 - All 65 OVR 82-92 POT - created players to keep the game somewhat familiar in the twilight years, but in this case, I am going to have all of them begin their careers in the Danish Superliga. 33 will be assigned to the three worst teams in that league. The remaining two will go to a fourth team with a need at the remaining positions. This makes it likely I won't run into any of these players for multiple years, which is great because that is not their purpose.

This way I can rebuild Man U from the bottom up. I will be using some self-imposed conditions as follows:

Scouting: May purchase scouts totaling 15* judgment + experience first year and 1 5*/5* every other year after that. Making it likely I will not be able to scout with 3 5*/5* Scouts until year 5.

Money: 10% of TB/WB year 1. 15% TB/WB Year 2, 25% TB/WB Year 3, 50% TB/WB Year 4, 75% TB/WB Year 5, 100% Years 6-15

World Class Difficulty 5 minute halves for seasons 1-3. Hopefully I can make it to back to BPL by year 4 and switch to 10 minute halves.

Maximum simulation 1/2 season years 1-3, No sim years 4-15 regardless of what league playing in.

Going to get it set up and check back in shortly with roster/transfer info. Just looking over it to start...Wow no wonder Torquay is bottom of league 2, yuck!

It's a fun time for sure. Bringing in players, cutting dead weight.

Sometimes it adds a bit of realism to forego the window though. Seeing as how the season has started and all. Letting the first couple months of the season play out with the squads as they are in the present day holds its own value.

I have the mind of a general manager so I use the summer transfer window to get rid of the players I don't see having a future on my squad. And of course I sign players that I think my team should have signed in real life.

I have finally gotten around to doing an update for this thread.
I had decided to do a German CM as I have never done one. I wanted to start in the Bundesliga 2. My choice was to start with FC Koln, they had a good budget and a good starting team.

Season 1

Disabled first transfer window(unusual for me) as the team was good enough to finish near the top already and had a pretty good formation.
In January I signed quite a few players to pre-contracts instead of buying players. 23YO RB Dennis Diekmeier(came in at 75) from Hamburger SV, 23YO LB Patrick Van Aanholt(came in at 72) from Chelsea, and 25 YO LM Ibrahima Traore(came in at 76) from VFB Stuttgart.

Finished the season at the top to gain promotion.

In the summer I wanted to improve the squad and got a budget of 11M, ended up selling a few older players to bring the total up to 15M. I got a transfer offer for my best player(22YO 77OVR ST Anthony Ujah) for 15M from PSG, I was going to reject it but thought I'd ask for 30M just for kicks and they accepted!!!! After the Board took their cut it added 25M to my budget and I went to work.

Transfers in - Lukaku(78OVR) from chelsea for 8M(shocked), Steven de Vrij(79OVR) from Feyenoord for 2M(shocked again), Nicola Leali from Juventus for 4.2M and Jurgen Locadia(75OVR) from PSV for 12M. Lukaku and de Vrij had less than a year left on their deals.

Second season goal was to not get relagated.

In January I signed another pre-contract with 23YO 78OVR RM Jonathan Schmid from SC Freiburg.

Finished 11th in the table which I was pretty happy with.

I needed another good CB to pair with de Vrij for season 3 so I got Toby Alderweirelder from Atletigo Madrid(starts at Ajax) for 8Mwhich really helped me in defence. To fill my need in midfield I brought in Paul Pogba from Juventus for 15M.

Goal for year 3 was to qualify for Europa League.

I was able to SQUEEK out the 4th Champions league spot(whew).

I'm now in September of year 4 and this past summer has been crazy! Sold Lucadia(now 82OVR) to Chelsea for 70MIL! and de Vrij(now 81OVR) to Barca for 40MIL! Also sold Traore for 8M to Roma.

I took that money and turned it into LM Eden Hazard from Chelsea for 45M. Brought Mesut Ozil home to Germany for 50M. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from Arsenal for 10M. And lastly 2 CBs to replace de Vrij though I don't remember they're names but they are both young and 77 rated.

This year with the team I have I want to really try to go for the league title(Bayern has won every year thus far)
