Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

    Българи Юнаци
    (basically "Bulgarian Heroes")

    September 2016

Simeon Ganchev, the manager of Hertha BSC, is ready for his first competitive games in charge of his home nation, Bulgaria. His objective is to qualify to the World Cup in Russia in 2018. The job won't be easy and the luck was against the Bulgarians this time. They got placed in a group which consists of European heavyweights Spain and Portugal and lesser but tough opponents Greece, Ireland and Slovenia. Ganchev's task is hard but in football everything is possible.

    World Cup Qualifiers

    Bulgaria 3 - 1 Greece
    Milanov 5', 45', Tonev 45'
    Siovas 65'

    Bulgaria 3 - 4 Spain
Ivelin Popov 70', Ivan Popov 75', Ivanov 90'
    Koke 37', 53', Javi Martinez 43', Fabregas 88'

Bulgaria, who played well in their first game against their neighbours Greece, had to face the clear favourite Spain in their second match. Bulgaria concentrated on their game and they didn't park the bus which maybe cost the game. The Spaniards were first to score with Koke shooting the ball after receiving a through ball. Five minutes later Javi Martinez scored a second after Pedro played a pass in the box. Spain's great half continued ten minutes later when Koke added one more to the scoreline. It looked like Spain would go ahead and score a few more but everything changed in the second half. Bulgaria started attacking a lot and they scored a goal after a counter attack. Five minutes later Ivan Popov got another after cutting in from the left and unleashing a shot to the right. Unfortunately for Ganchev's side Fabregas made it four in the 88th minute and two minutes later Ivan Ivanov got one more from a corner but that wasn't enough.

    World Cup Qualifying Group

    1. Slovenia, 6 pts
    2. Portugal, 4 pts
    3. Spain, 4 pts
    4. Bulgaria, 3 pts
    5. Ireland, 0 pts
    6. Greece, 0 pts

    Pride of Berlin

    Hertha BSC 2 - 0 1899 Hoffenheim
    Lacazette 89', Bale 90'

Hertha BSC 4 - 1 Lokomotiv Moscow, Champions League
    Müller 21', 36', 39', Bale 28'
    Stocker 74' OG

    FC Augsburg 0 - 3 Hertha BSC
    Müller 31', 40', 89'

    Hertha BSC 1 - 0 Nuremberg
    Drmic 45'

    Bayern Munich 3 - 5 Hertha BSC
    Shaqiri 8', Alaba 26', Pastore 43'
    Kovacic 55', Bale 63', Ginter 68', Müller 71', Stocker 80'

Two top teams who had bad beginnings to their seasons faced for the fight for fifth place. Bayern had a two-point lead and Hertha needed a win to overtake them. It looked like that wouldn't happen when Bayern scored three goals in the first half but once again this month we saw a completely different team which played brilliantly on the offence. The Berliners' first goal was scored by Mateo Kovacic who cut in from the left and curled the ball past Starke in goal. Under ten minutes later Bale made it two with a header and the difference was just a goal. Hertha's great game continued and Matthias Ginter equalised from a corner. Three minutes later Bale was on the right side of the box and he passed the ball to Müller in the middle. The German star striker took a touch and he put a powerful shot to the back of the net to get the winning goal against his old team. About ten minutes later Nemanja Matic ran through the field in the box. The Serbian kept the ball and passed it to Valentin Stocker in the middle and the captain shot the ball to the net. What a comeback to secure the three points!

RSC Anderlecht 1 - 6 Hertha BSC, Champions League
    Mitrovic 34'
    Bale 17', 21' Milivojevic 54' OG, Müller 68', 84', Schär 76'

    18. FC Köln, 4 pts

    Press Conference

Hello, and congratulations on your great form recently. Your opinion on that?

I think it was really important to turn our game around and start playing really well. I really enjoy our football at the moment and it's great seeing the guys enjoying their game. It's also great to see that our attack is on it's finest with Thomas (Müller) getting nine goals in six games. Our defence hasn't been great recently but we are working on it but, you know, offence is the best defence.

You have climbed to fifth now. Do you think you're be able to win the league?

Yes, I'm absolutely sure we can win the title once again. We had a poor start but now everything is working really well. If we can continue our great form then it's all about the other teams' results. Even if they don't drop points against other teams, they will against us.

Bulgaria is know third in the group, a point behind qualifying spot. Can you qualify for the World Cup?

It will be really tough and it requires a lot of hard work but it's possible. We showed our quality against Spain and Greece. We just need to defend better so we don't concede as many goals.

What do you think of your signings?

It's a bit too early to judge but so far I'm really happy with them. Alberto (Moreno) is playing really well on the left and as you can see Thomas (Müller) is in amazing form. He scores with every shot. Dani (Carvajal) has been important on the right in defence and in attack.

    Are you unhappy in someone?

I don't like to talk about this, but as you can probably see, Christian Benteke has been terrible these season which lead to me dropping him from the team. He didn't play well at all and he knows why he isn't playing. Fortunately, we don't really need him.

Thank you for reading the post! I hope you have enjoyed! Any feedback and suggestions will be appreciated!

Great set of games for Muller there Simppu. And played a good game against Spain. Who is leading the Bundesliga in goals this year?

I think at the time when I played through September it was Van Der Vaart with 8 goals but Müller was second or third. Right now I'm two games into October and Müller is leading it with 11 goals.

try two goals being taken away because the ref decides to call a penalty kick instead

            March 2018 - Season 5

            Blackburn Rovers 0 - 0 AFC Wimbledon
Wimbledon dominated the match for the full 90 minutes, but for some strange and possibly supernatural reason most of their shots were off target. We're talking about shots that Terry Gornell could put into the net in his sleep, but for some odd reason the ball would either hit the post or just barely go off target. Many would argue that Blackburn's CB Grant Hanley was at the top of his game as he tries to get back into Scotland's starting eleven, having lost his starting place after the Brazil friendly. Wimbledon wanted a win in order to continue climbing the league table, but at least they are still getting points. Wimbledon manager was kind enough to share a few words with us: "Blackburn is a team we all know is solid in defense and that's what's kept them out of the relegation zone. The defense always do their job but their attackers are in debt with their fans. Personally, I would like to see Tarik Çamdal get more minutes with them. I think he could add get more balls into the box and help their attack which has been struggling to find the net." Chavez spoke about Blackburn's poor finishing. Funny thing is, Blackburn plays with two strikers, one of them being Scotland international Jordan Rhodes who has been competing with Johnny Russell for a spot in the World Cup starting eleven.

Europa League - Round of 16
            LOSC Lille 0 - 1 AFC Wimbledon
            WIM: Gornell 57'
Wimbledon traveled to France to face Lille, who are currently 2nd place in the French Ligue 1. The match was very close, with both teams looking for the win but Wimbledon slightly superior. Terry Gornell scored for Wimbledon with a powerful low shot from the left side of the box with his weak foot.

            FA Cup - Quarter Final
            Aston Villa 5 - 7 AFC Wimbledon
            WIM: Harvey 18' 42' 45' Clayton 61' 69' 78' 87'
            AST: Germain 25' Westwood 40' Weimann 45' Germain 48' Weimann 63'
A 12-goal thriller, described as the match of the month by Sky Sports and multiple others. Following Wimbledon's big 6-1 win over Villa back in December, Chavez decided to field his B team for this match and even though they struggled defensively, their attack was able to make up for it. Tyler Harvey opened up the scoring by heading in a cross from youth academy graduate Diego Ortiz. Villa's Germain equalized the match about 7 minutes later, and then the goals began back and forth. Aston Villa would score, then Tyler Harvey would equalize soon after. Villa would score again, and Harvey would bring it back again. The match went into halftime at 3-3 with no signs of calming down. Tyler Harvey scored a perfect hat trick (header, left foot, right foot) Remember at the beginning of this season he had asked Chavez to play him as a striker, his natural position until Plymouth Argyle changed it to center mid, and ever since Chavez fulfilled his wishes he's been responding with goals. Second half started and again, Villa would score but Max Clayton was able to equalize. Max Clayton was actually only on the field for 2 minutes when he scored the goal to make it 4-4. Weimann responded for Villa right away and made it 5-4, but only 6 minutes later Clayton grabbed his 2nd goal within 10 minutes of being subbed in. After that goal the match finally calmed down at 5-5. Max Clayton took advantage of Villa's fatigue and was able to finally give Wimbledon the lead at 6-5. Villa began pushing for an equalizer, this being their first time behind on the scoreline since the 18th minute. The atmosphere at Villa park was tense as the hosts tried to get back into the match, until Max Clayton scored his 4th goal of the match to make it 7-5 and end Villa's hopes of flipping the scoreline. After adding 5 minutes of stoppage time, the referee ended the match that nobody wanted to end, except the Wimbledon players. What a match! Wimbledon's Sam Vokes was given the Man of The Match award. The striker from Wales did not have any shots on goals, but he contributed just as much as the rest of the team by making 3 assists. Despite letting in 5 goals, Wimbledon B goalkeeper Adam Cowie received a 7.7 match rating for making 7 saves out of 9 shots on target, even though most of his saves came from cutting off Villa's attack and not from the actual shots. On the other end of the field, Aston Villa's Jason Steele was only able to make 1 save out of 8 shots on target. Max Clayton and Tyler Harvey have raised their hands to be considered for Wimbledon's starting eleven. Luke James will have to step his game up if he wants to keep the starting spot that he took from Sam Vokes earlier this season.

Europa League - Round of 16
            AFC Wimbledon 1(2) - 0(0) LOSC Lille
            WIM: Murphy 26'
AFC Wimbledon continue to progress in this year's Europa League after eliminating Lille and moving on towards the tournament quarter finals. The French side started the game well but after receiving a goal the pressure got to them and they were able to play as well as the first leg. Wimbledon's back 3 and goalkeeper were at the top of their game as well, so it all contributed to Lille's desperation. Jacob Murphy opened the scoreline by taking advantage of a goalkeeper mistake. Wimbledon were pressing high and forced Lille to pass back all the way to their goalkeeper. Lille's goalkeeper then tried to make a first touch pass to his RB, but didn't notice that Jacob Murphy was already pressuring the defender. Murphy quickly intercepted the pass and took the shot. The goalkeeper was close to saving it, but being out of position made it more difficult to get to it. Chavez was on his feet the entire match, since Lille threatened to get back into the game but fortunately Wimbledon's defensive half were focused and kept the clean sheet. The Wombles will now face Celtic, who were eliminated from the UCL Group Stage, in the quarter finals.

            AFC Wimbledon 2 - 1 Liverpool
            WIM: Ruiz 18' James 38'
            LIV: Alexandre Pato 28'
Wimbledon have taken a step closer to the top of the table by defeating a direct rival Liverpool. The first half was dominated by Wimbledon, with their youth graduate Mario Ruiz opening the scoring with a shot from outside of the box with his weak foot that curved away from Simon Mignolet. Brazilian international Alexandre Pato equalized by tapping in a rebound inside the box. This marks his 3rd goal on a Scottish goalkeeper managed by Chavez. Wimbledon did not lose focus though, and Luke James put them ahead by dribbling past his marker through the right side of the box and then cutting in to shoot towards Mignolet's far post. The Dons played an incredible first half, but the second half was all Liverpool. Liverpool balanced the possession stat and continuously created danger in Wimbledon's half. Chavez celebrated with his staff and players at the final whistle as this match was vital for maintaining UCL hopes.

            Europa League - Quarter Final
            Celtic 1 - 4 AFC Wimbledon
            CEL: Rogic 12'
            WIM: Vokes 30' 39' Harvey 82' Clayton 88'
The Dons traveled to Glasgow to face Scotland champions Celtic in the first leg of the cup quarter finals. Chavez presented the Wimbledon B team as his lineup for this match, which surprised many but at the same time it is understandable since Wimbledon have a league match against direct rivals Manchester City just two days after this match. Celtic opened the scoring early on and it looked like the B team was not prepared to face a team of Scotland's calibre, until Sam Vokes equalized the match from a counter attack after a Celtic corner, and then 9 minutes later put Wimbledon ahead by heading in a cross from Freeman. In the final minutes of the match Tyler Harvey stretched the lead out out more, and then Max Clayton scored as well to make it a comfortable lead with a huge advantage on away goals.

            BPL Top Scorer
            1. Gornell (Wimbledon) - 21 Goals
            2. Cavani (M. United) - 18 Goals
            3. Montero (Everton) - 16 Goals

            Europa League Top Scorer
            1. Benzia (Lyon) - 9 Goals
            2. Muniaín (Bilbao) - 8 Goals
            3. Benzema (M. City) - 7 Goals

            England Dominates Europa League
All the participating teams from England have made it to the tournament quarter finals. AFC Wimbledon, Tottenham, Manchester City, and Liverpool make up 50% of quarter finals making England the country with the most teams competing for the cup. Basel (Switzerland), CSKA Moskva (Russia), Monaco (France), and Celtic (Scotland) make up the rest. Manchester City have drawn Tottenham in their quarter final match up though, so the English sides have to begin eliminating each other.

            Sam Vokes Making a Comeback
Sam Vokes, Wimbledon's star signing of the season, lost his starting spot after Chavez gave him plenty of chances and full confidence earlier this season. The coaching staff were patient with the player saying he still needed to adapt, but eventually Vokes ran out of chances and was sent to the B team. Vokes has also been linked with a move away from Wimbledon due to his poor performance and high wages. In recent matches Vokes has been performing extremely well, hardly making any shots on goal, with the exception of the Celtic match, but shielding the ball and assisting goals. Vokes has publicly stated that he is not happy with his playtime and wants more minutes, and he is using his performances to back him up. Luke James currently holds the starting spot in the same role Vokes plays with the B team, but the two are very different strikers. James is much faster but not as strong on the ball. Not to forget Tyler Harvey who has became a danger man with the B team in front of goal, and Max Clayton who has became an impact sub frequently scoring when he is subbed in to the match. Chavez may choose not to make any changes since the season is close to its end and the team is playing very well as it is. There may be some changes next season though with all these strikers raising their hands. Chavez will have a lot to think about in the preseason.

            Notable Youth Academy Players
            * = New Addition

*Ben Sweeney - CM (54-68, 79-94): At only 15 years old this midfielder from England has already been labeled as being gifted technically. He hasn't made any appearances with the U-17 yet, so we can only speculate how good he really is base on the youth staff's reports.

Chris McGinn - DEF/MID (44-52, 83-94): The 16 year old from Northern Ireland has recently joined the Wimbledon academy so we are still learning from his playing style.

Conor Marsden - ST (50-54, 73-77): This 17 year old from England may not have much potential, but he is a an exciting player due to his height: 6'4". Chavez is anxious to bring him up as he can fill in the target man position Hanson left behind, but he wants to wait at least one more season before calling him up.

Dean Rhodes - LB (60-64, 86-92): We thought Chavez would call this 16 year old from Scotland to the senior team but it looks like Chavez wants him to spend one more season with the U-17.

Jamie Mannus - CDM (49-51, 82-88): This 15 year old from Northern Ireland has a bright future ahead of him. He stands at 6'5" and prefers playing as a defensive midfielder. Competition between him and Sean Archer in the U-17 is very close, with Mannus being more defensive minded. We expect great things from these two players.

Mark Watt - GK (56-60, 79-85): The 17 year old from Scotland looked set to be promoted last season, but Chavez decided to give him one more season with the U-17. He may be promoted next May.

Matt Cameron - CAM (49-53, 76-82): The 15 year old from England is one of the most recent signings to the youth academy and we're still learning from the attacking midfielder.

Michael Thompson - CAM/CF (48-50, 82-88): The 16 year old from Northern Ireland has been impressing with the U-17 this year, particularly with his strength. He is hard to push off the ball, but he may not be promoted until next season.

*Ruaidhri Mannus - DEF/CM (39-51, 74-94): It is still to be confirmed but it looks like this is Jamie Mannus's older brother. 17 year old from Northern Ireland has recently joined the academy and has not decided on a position yet.

*Scott McGabe - CDM (43-55, 73-94): The 16 year old from Scotland has been compared his compatriot Sean Archer as they both have similar playing styles. Both are defensive, playmaking, midfielders.

Scott Stewart - LB (59-63, 80-86): The 16 year old from Scotland shows a lot of promise but may be used as a CB by Chavez due to his defensive mentality. There's a high chance he'll be promoted next season.

Sean Archer - CDM (50-54, 85-91): The 15 year old from Scotland is an incredible playmaker who prefers to stay in the defensive half and analyze the game from there. He's one of the most exciting players in the U-17 but he will not be eligible to be registered with the senior squad until next season.

            International Friendlies

            Republic of Ireland 0 - 0 Scotland
Chavez fielded a 4-3-3 Attack with Johnny Russell as the striker, and looked very disappointed by the team's performance. There hasn't been a set formation since the World Cup Qualifiers, which Scotland finished in 1st place, and it looks like Chavez will have to go back to the drawing board again.

            Scotland 1 - 1 France
            SCO: Rhodes 27'
            FRA: Benzema 61'
For this match Scotland played a 4-3-3 Holding, a formation we haven't seen Chavez use since the Euro Cup. In that tournament, Chavez had tried out several formations since he did not have any time to prepare until setting on the 4-3-3 Holding where Steven Fletcher was the standout player. Since Fletcher retired, Scotland hasn't had a striker with his characteristics and so Chavez had opted to use McCormack as False 9. Now that McCormack is also in his 30s and may not be fit for the World Cup, Chavez has turned to Jordan Rhodes to be that target man in the center. Rhodes fit the role and did his part, scoring a header from LB Halliday's cross, but it wasn't enough for Scotland to win. Karim Benzema equalized the match by chipping the ball over young goalkeeper Jason Cummings in a 1 on 1. Scotland played a lot better with the 4-3-3 Holding than with the 4-3-3 Attack, but if Scotland don't play well in their first World Cup match this June, you can expect to see more changes to the lineup. For now, it looks like the team that played tonight will be the starting eleven at the World Cup.

            Press Conference

Q: You end the World Cup preparations with 2 defeats and 2 draws and the World Cup is just around the corner. Not to mention we've seen a variety of different formations and the playing style is far from what we saw in the Qualifiers. With Scotland being far from favorites as it is, what kind of performance should we be expecting to see at the World Cup? What are your goals?

A: "I think we're ready. I wasn't worried about the results in the friendlies, I only cared about the way the team played. They are, as you said, only preparation matches. I really liked the team's performance against France. Against Republic of Ireland not so much, but we were able to locate our flaws in attack. Against France it was a different story though. France are candidates to be champions this year, so getting a draw is an accomplishment. Benzema had to make an incredible play in order to beat our defense but other than that he didn't have any room to work. Jason Cummings and Souttar are still very young, so we are only expecting them to get better. I think we're gonna have a good World Cup. We were eliminated in the quarter finals by Germany at the Euros, so we want to get farther than that."

Q: So it looks like you're settling with the 4-3-3 Holding. From our spot in the stadium it looked like you customized the midfield to be identical to the 4-3-3 False 9. Why was the 4-3-3 Attack not to your liking?

A: "We noticed that with the 4-3-3 Attack the attack can get very crowded and we end up closing the opponents' spaces ourselves. With the 4-3-3 Holding, we give the striker and the wingers more room to work in without giving them a claustrophobic attack. The main difference is that Armstrong will change from being CAM to LCM which won't be a problem. Armstrong was runner up to the golden boot at the qualifiers playing as LCM."

Q: Centre back Steven Saunders picked up an injury against France. Will he be fit for the World Cup?

A: "Yes there's still plenty of time before June and he's only expected to be sidelined for 4 weeks. Gave me quite a scare when it happened though. These players have worked hard to make it to the World Cup and it is always heartbreaking when a player is forced to miss the tournament by an injury."

Q: Thank you very much for your time Mr. Chavez.

            That's all for now gents.
Hope you enjoyed it and thanks for reading!

Either a rebound from the goalkeeper, or my defender blocked a pass/shot and the ball just oh so happened to go right back to their player who was now alone in front of goal. Man it was an annoying match but awesome at the same time haha

So I need help guys, Im sure there is a thread about this issue but I dont feel like looking through all these threads to find it and this thread is constant so here we go
So my youth academy locks up every time I go in it in my career mode. I noticed that there is a player I never signed who magically signed to my team and when you look at his profile the top right corner should say manchester united but it says something else. I've tried to release him but it won't let me and I know he is the issue for the freezing. Any help would be great guys

I know its probably not relevant, but that your name is frost made me chuckle a bit, But is he in your team? Maybe then you can release him from his contract?

                        Press Conference

Q: Just outside of the top half, you are still exceeding most experts expectations for the season so far. You continually hold this club to a higher standard though, how do you feel about the season so far?

A: We have gotten decent results, but we have been unbelievably inconsistent. Our defense has been a major problem so far this season, as we are now entering December and still have yet to keep a clean sheet in Premier League Play. Ryan Miller has been great, but we have yet to find which partner suits him best in the center, either Dominic Esson or Andy Clarkson. Once we get a more permanent partnership established the communication will begin to grow.

Q: You have advanced to the semi-finals of the Capital One Cup now to face Sunderland. On the opposite end Manchester United will be facing Wolverhampton. Your reserves have been highly impressive as you have played them exclusively so far during this competition. Will you continue to use the reserves now that you have reached the semi-finals? Or will you begin to play more first team players in the two legs?

A: The reserves have been a pleasant surprise so far in this competition, and I am happy to see them performing so well. They are the ones who have gotten us here, and I will be turning to them once again for the first leg. After that we will see the results and make a decision for the second leg from there. If we do reach the final then I will have a tough decision to make due to the Europa League spot on the line.

Q: Speaking of Europa League, you have secured your advancement past the group stages with a 5 point lead going into the last game. You have put together consistently great performances so far with wins in all but one games. With that success in mind, how far do you believe you are capable of advancing in this European competition?

A: It's been an amazing experience getting to battle other great clubs across Europe. This club has never gotten to experience anything like this before, and it has been a true honor to be the first manager to get Morecambe here. The success we have had has shown the standard of club we are on a global scale. We hope to continue to perform well and use this stage to grow our brand across Europe.

                            FL Championship Standings

                            1. Wigan Athletic - 46pts
                            2. Bolton - 41pts
                            3. Dagenham - 41pts
                            4. Leicester City - 38pts
                            5. Stoke City - 36pts
                            6. Crystal Palace - 34pts

                            ...
                            22. Bristol City - 10pts
                            23. Barnsley - 10pts
                            24. Colchester - 7pts

Once again finishing the month with a loss. It sure stings. The team actually held 2nd place for most of the month but that one loss allowed Bolton to jump back ahead of us due to GD (+24 to +17). Overall it's hard to be upset about 3 win and 1 losses when you consider we faced the 4th, 9th, 12th, and 6th place teams in that order. Next month we only play one team currently in the top half of the table.

The injury bug continues as Luis Valencia suffered a broken elbow in the first game of the month and will miss a few weeks. At the moment both him and Adamo Tena (broken tailbone) are both due back in 6 weeks which means they'll probably be on the active roster before the transfer window. Our top CB, Luke Wilkinson, is back from the broken tibia he suffered at the beginning of July. Academy product Kagetoki Miyoshi is now on the bench as a result because Scott Doe has played better this season though there's a chance he may be sold in this transfer window leading to Miyoshi getting back into the starting XI. Afolabi Obafemi will get an opportunity to replace Valencia, he's a youngster I've always been fond of since the first season and actually scores regularly as a sub, just hasn't been able to translate that success as a starter.

Our team scout in Scotland brought us a full report on James Collins who seems to be the kind of striker we want on this team but has wages that are past our budget. This scout has now been sent to Spain to report back on Hiroshi Ibusuki. Another scout is currently in England after giving us a full report on Tom Eaves, who also seems like someone we want on this team but has wages higher than what we can afford. Paez has requested additional funds from the board. This scout is also finishing reports on Conor Doyle and Wes Fletcher, who may be more affordable. In the meantime our youth scout in Italy held on to his job for at least a while longer after finding us what we hope is a diamond on the rough. Here's the youth squad:

                            - Kenneth Hansen (LM/LW, 49-53, 68-72): 16 Y/O from Denmark whose best chance to contribute to the senior squad comes with staying in the academy for the rest of the season.
                            - Manuel Burchert (CM, 52-56, 69-73): 17 Y/O from Germany in the same boat as Hansen.
                            - Tim Brooks (CDM, 60-64, 82-88): 15 Y/O from the United States who will likely be called up to the senior team after this upcoming season.
                            - Emilo De Mesquites (CM, 52-56, 71-75): 16 Y/O kid from Portugal would be smart to stay in the academy for a full season.
                            - Victor Meyer (CM, 58-62, 75-81): 16 Y/O from the United States who would benefit from a full season in the academy but could be called up sooner if needed.
                            - Francisco Anibal (LM, 55-59, 72-76): 15 Y/O from Portugal described as technically gifted.
                            - Goncalvo Guterres (CF 47-49, 67-71): This 16 Y/O from Portugal is our lowest rated prospect at the moment but he will play at a position of need.
                            - David Antonio (CM, 47-49, 73-79): 15 Y/O from England turned out to be a CM, not an attacker.
                            - Brian Donaldson (MID/ATT, 40-50, 66-82): 15 Y/O from England signed because his size (6'2", 174lbs) and skills project him as a striker which is a position of need for the club.
                            - Enric Tilea (CM 41-45, 68-76): 15 Y/O from Romania is described as a playmaker. Probably needs a couple of years in the academy.
                            - Raffaele Molinaro (???, 48-60, 74-94)*: 15 Y/O from Italy is someone we're very excited about. We hope he'll be an attacker but we'd settle for a midfielder.

                            Standings

                            1. Venezuela - 10pts
                            2. Chile - 9pts
                            3. Brasil - 9pts
                            4. Argentina - 8pts
                            5. Uruguay - 6pts

                            6. Ecuador - 4pts
                            7. Colombia - 4pts
                            8. Peru - 3pts
                            9. Bolivia - 3pts
                            10. Paraguay - 1pts

A dream start at this qualifiers continues as we were able to handle inferior opponents this time around. Paraguay proved more difficult than expected but we'll attribute that to them being at home. Bolivia had no chance from the get-go. It will be difficult to stay ahead of all these powerhouses but so long as we stay among the top 4 we'll be happy. There won't be any more qualifiers until March with a friendly again Czech Republic before that in February.

The game against Bolivia marked the first time that Dagenham academy product Fernando Monzon scored a goal. In a way it was even sweeter that he accomplished this while wearing the Vinotinto jersey. It was a very special moment for all involved so here's the highlight, it was a beauty too:

Monzon is a complete midfielder that can play anywhere in the diamond midfield. He may make both Hourihane and Tena expendable ...

                            That's all for now

Wow, Muller is on a tear right now. What a great signing, you have put together quite an impressive team, with unlimited attacking power.

Great results accross all competitions there. And you are becoming quite a dominant mainstay in the Europa League right now with how far you have been advancing each year. But as Rabbit said, WHAT? in regard to that Aston Villa game!

You're right there for automatic promotion! Still a lot of season left to play though, but if you keep performing like you have been those other teams will stumble along the way and you will be sitting just fine. And as always, your academy is looking impressive

What a win against chelsea! Looks like you were winning, then Chelsea flipped it, and then you flipped it again and kept it that way! Looks like a good debut season so far and you're dominating your Europa League group. I have high hopes for you this season man. Especially with that great squad you've put together. That extra year in the Championship paid off.
