Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

Seen as FIFA 15 is out on the 26th in the UK, I shall be getting it then. I thought I'd give you some careers to look forward to.
I shall do the duo at the beginning.

Firstly my mainstay. Liverpool. I hope it goes down to as much acclaim as the last one. My main target for the first season will be to fix the defence. Mignolet needs replacing and Manquillo is great but needs and experienced but good full back to learn from. Lovren will need a better cental defensive partner to move ahead of Sakho. Moreno is good enough to stay. I will also need a creative first team player for the centre of the park, someone to play the role Modric does for Real.

My second career will be with Hull City. Once again I will have to fix the defence. Robertson on the left doesn't have enough top quality experience. Davies and Dawson have not been looking good in centre back and neither Chester nor Bruce have a high enough quality. However Elmo has enough consistency to stay. However the rest of the team looks great. I plan on using Livermore, Ramirez and Diame in the midfield with Ince and Ben Arfa/Snodgrass on the wing and Hernandez up front. I may add more depth up front though as I don't trust Jelavic to be my main striker should something happen to Abel.

Later on in the year you can expect a new Coventry career, and this time I wont give up. I will also give you guys the vote on my career later on.

A beauty of a goal indeed! There's always an extra satisfaction when a player from your youth academy scores. You're doing great in the qualifiers too. Do the top 5 qualify to the World Cup? Rondon left Zenit in my career and joined Lille. Very dangerous striker!

Oh, and you better get Eaves no matter how much he costs! I'm surprised he has a high wage. I haven't seen any players in League 1 or 2 have anything other than the league's generic wage. Even when I bought Max Clayton rated at 73 his wage was still just $750. Hope the board opens up the wallet!

Chico, absolutely amazing job in every competition! You're killing it in the league and you're even better in the Europa League! Hopefully you can make it to the top four at the end.

Tex, you're doing really well! Midtable finish would be good in the first season in PL but I know you'll finish higher!

Rabbit, you're doing nicely aswell, especially with Venezuela! What a start you had in the qualifiers. I think you'll make it to the World Cup this time.

There's a thing on my mind now and it regards my Hertha career. I'm afraid of not being able to finish the season before FIFA 15 which comes out on Thursday. I'm now in the beginning of January and there are only three days left. I would like to finish the season but I'll buy FIFA 15 on Thursday. Wish me luck.

That extra year in the Championship paid off.
I was so mad in the Chelsea game when my defender scored an own goal haha. I then went with a gut feeling and subbed in a player I wouldn't normally sub in since he is a reserve team player that joined this year from my academy. And sure enough he scores the winner in the closing minutes.

            Press Conference

Q: Great month in Premier League play as you went unbeaten taking all but 2 points in the process. You have now moved into the top half of the table up to 8th. Even more impressively, you are only 2 points out of the top 5. Does your current standing now halfway through the season change your expectations at all?

A: I don't want to get ahead of ourselves now. We had a great month, yes, but we need to stay focused. Any club can slip in the second half of the season, and I don't want that to be us. I am proud with how each of the players have performed so far and I think that regardless of how this second half plays out, these players will have proved a lot of people wrong.

Q: Congratulations on advancing past group play in the Europa League. You established your place in this competition by winning your group, and winning all but 2 games. One of which was played entirely with your reserves after you had secured your place at the top of the group. How much further do you think you can go in this competition?

A: I am happy that we were able to prove our quality on a global scale by winning our group. We were excited to see the draw for the next round, and it will certainly be tough as we are set to go against Atletico Madrid. They are no doubt one of the stronger clubs in the competition, as it is a surprise that they are even here in the first place and no in the Champions League. Either way, we will be prepared come match day and we look forward to taking on a club of such obvious quality.

Q: With the January transfer window now open, do you expect to make any changes to the squad for the second half of the season?

A: I have been very pleased with our performances so far, and unless we can find great value somewhere, I don't expect to bring anyone in. We will be looking for clubs interested in bringing in some of our young players on loan though so that they can get more first team experience with the Capital One Cup coming to an end soon. If we can't find anyone interested, we will find opportunities throughout the next few months for these players to get on the pitch.

                    Spoiler

                    Press Conference
Q: A second unbeaten month in Premier League play has lifted you not only into the top 5, but all the way to the 3rd spot. This is an accomplishment that few saw coming. Will you be able to hold on to this form and end the season sitting this high up in the table?

A: Many would say we are overachieving right now, but I know what these players are capable of, and I have brought them all in for a reason. They have each contributed in getting us to where we are right now, and none of them are ready to give up on that yet. If we finish outside of the top 5 at this point it will surely be a disappointment, but I think this season will still be one to celebrate.

Q: You have secured your spot in the Capital One Cup final against Manchester United, and have also moved into the last 16 in the F.A. Cup. Will you be able to add a new trophy to your collection, and how do you feel your chances are at defending the F.A. Cup after winning it last season?

A: The fact that it was mainly reserves that got us to the final has made me beyond proud of those young players. In the final I plan to field a stronger XI, but there are a few that I am considering keeping in the lineup after their performances so far this competition. We will see what happens, but adding a new trophy would be fantastic. The F.A. Cup is a competition that we had huge success in last season, and we feel that we have a better squad this season and see no reason as to why we can't aim to accomplish what we did last season once again.

Q: Rumors were flying that you rebuffed a big money offer from PSG for star man Nadir Ciftci. The football world was schocked to hear that a club such as Morecambe turned down such an offer. Was an offer really made, and if so, was it tempting to accept?

A: I will confirm that PSG came in and made an offer of £35M. No doubt that is more money than this club has ever seen, and I would be lying if I said that there wasn't a little pressure to accept. As manager though I have to assess what a player's value to the club is and Nadir has essentially been invaluable to our success. We told PSG that we wouldn't let him go for anything less than £50M, and once they saw we wouldn't budge they moved on. I knew the valuation would likely scare them off, but for me, and for Morecambe, Nadir is that valuable. We are extremely happy that he is still here, and his first Premier League season has been nothing short of magical. It would have been a shame not to let him finish that off.

VERY impressed with your performance in your first season at the top flight. I'm glad you decided to keep Ciftci because he's been a key part in your success. I'm also very jealous at the amount of playing time you've been getting! I was a year ahead of you and you're already catching up to me! Has the lady been uh.... "taken care of?" lol

Indiblue to replace Pardew as Magpies boss

Newcastle United unveiled Indiblue as the new first team manager today at a press conference that has breathed new life into the stuttering club, ushering in a change from the stagnation that was so synonymous with Alan Pardew's tenure. Long thought to be underachievers given the resources at their disposal, Newcastle have not won any major silverware since the 1969 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup, the defunct predecessor to the Europa League, despite ranking among the 20 wealthiest clubs in world football.

Indi, welcome to the Premier League. What's your plan for Newcastle?

Well, we're one of the most eminent football clubs in the world, with revenue to match the likes of Lyon and Sevilla. I think when you look at the quality of those teams, there is no reason why Newcastle should not be on the same level. We are currently punching far below our weight, and that's something I want to rectify. In Mike Ashley, I have a boss who can see that he's made some mistakes and wants to fix that. The board is supportive, and I have a very good team of staff to help make my job easier.

You obviously can't and won't reveal too much, but does this mean signings?

I think strengthening the team is one aspect where this club has faltered in the past. Without naming names or assigning blame, all I'll say is that too many people got away with mediocrity. Starting today, Newcastle is a club only for those seeking to achieve excellence. We've been happy with just enough for too long, but that's going to change. There are some excellent players out there, so there's no reason for us to sign average ones. We have shortlisted a few players who will improve our team, and we have also informed some of our current squad that they will need to seek out new opportunities.

What's the goal for this season?

I'm going to be bringing a new style of play to the team, so there's going to be a bit of a breaking-in period, which is to be expected. It's not likely that results will go our way until a few months in. Even then, we'll need a season to hit our best form. I think a top-half finish is fair enough for this year, as it will allow us to continue building without raising expectations too high. One thing I don't want is false hope before it's time.

Does that mean you wouldn't take a top-four finish if it came your way?

What am I, mad? Of course I'd take top four. I'd take it right bloody now!

                        Newcastle to offload 'average' deadwood

Less than a week into his new job as the man in charge of Newcastle United, and Indiblue has already made it clear that several of the club's players will be up for sale, terming the group 'average' and 'mediocre'. Among the players said to be on their way out are English pair Mike Williamson and Ryan Taylor, but perhaps the most surprising names on the list are two of the Toon's fan favourites Papiss Cisse and Hatem Ben Arfa.

Ben Arfa has been hit by injury since a productive 2011-12 campaign, but the Frenchman remains one of the most talented in the squad. Cisse, who scored 13 goals in 14 games during the latter half of that same season to put Newcastle into Europe for the first time in years, has been tame ever since. Both are among Newcastle's highest earners, and their sales would contribute to the club's financial well-being.

On the other side, Newcastle are thought to be in pole position to land Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku on loan for the entire season. Talks are said to be in advanced stages for Leeds United wing back Sam Byram, while the club has also expressed interest in Brighton forward and lifelong Newcastle supporter Will Buckley. The other players said to have caught Indiblue's fancy are Benfica prodigy Lazar Markovic, Arsenal misfit Lukas Podolski and his teammate Aaron Ramsey, and Zenit centre half Tomas Hubocan.

Thanks, I was sitting right in the middle of the table until back-to-back unbeaten months in league play. Remains to be seen if I can maintain it now! Ciftci was just too important to the team to give up. If he was gone I don't know how I would have replaced his goals. Him and Joseph-Claude Gyau have just been on an absolute tear for me lately.

Her mom just came into town, and will be here all the way through this week as well. So while they've been spending time together over at her place, I've just been at my apartment with a lot of free time haha. I just have to make a few appearances over there, but that's really only a small portion of the day for me. Taking advantage of the free time while I can!

I can understand the feeling. A while ago, my MIL cut off a bit of her finger husking coconuts. They got it back on just fine, but it put her out of commission with housework for a while, so my wife had to go back to her folks' place (out of state) for about 6 weeks to help drive her younger siblings to and from school, clean the house, cook, and just generally help out wherever required. Some of the best weeks of my life. I got loads of work done, worked out enough to drop some fat while still eating what I wanted, and just generally enjoyed living by myself once again.

                              Press Conference

Good afternoon. You are now second, three points behind Wolfsburg. Can you get past them?

I have said this before and I'll say it again. I am absolutely sure we will win the league title this season. Just look at our form and results for the past four months. We have lost two points in fifteen league matches and they were against a really good Bayern. That's a great run! All we need to do is keep our great run going and wait until Wolfsburg loses some points.

You finished first in your Champions League group. Can you win the cup this year?

Yes, we can. It will be really hard and we will need to work really hard for the trophy but I think we can make it to the end. If we defend well there is nothing to worry about.

Your next opponent is Dynamo Moscow. What do you think of them?

They are a bad side who got through their group with pure luck, it's that simple. They have only Kokorin and the Hungarian guy in their team who are average players. Everyone else is terrible and it will be easy for my boys to take care of them.

You also said that you would destroy Braunschweig and Sevilla last season...

Shut up, I don't remember that. Next question, now!

Thomas Müller and Gareth Bale are in an amazing form right now. Can they continue it?

Can they continue their form? Just look at them! They are the best attackers in the league and they are really professional and their finishing is amazing! Gareth has 17 goals now and Thomas has 31, that's more than Messi got in his best season's first half! So yes, they will absolutely continue their form.

The transfer window is here. Who are you looking to buy?

I wouldn't comment this normally, but I think I'll try to get Javi Martinez from Bayern. Why? So he can't play against us!

Sorry for making this too long. Hopefully you didn't get too bored.

Thank you for reading this post! I hope you have enjoyed it! Any feedback and suggestions will be appreciated!

Wow, Bale and Muller have been unreal. And your results are certainly showing it. That is one of the most impressive few months I've seen. Keep it up! And I'm hoping you can win the treble this season.
