Press Conference
Q: You have officially been knocked out of the F.A. Cup in what was a rematch of last years final. Liverpool proved to be too much this time and your attempt to defend the trophy has ended in the quarter finals. What led to the loss this year?
A: We were forced to play a lot of our reserve players for this game coming off of 2 days of rest from our Europa League win over Club Brugge. Unfortunately we weren't able to commit enough of our resources into our lineup to secure a win. It would have been great to win it again, but our chance to move further in the Europa League was considered a higher priority.
Q: Speaking of the Europa League, you have advanced into the quarter finals, and won your first leg against Lazio convincingly. What do you feel your chances are in this competition?
A: I am very proud of the performances the players have been putting in against European competition. This was our chance to spread Morecambe's brand, and to prove the quality of our club. I think we have done just that. I think we have what it takes to make it to the finals, but that all depends on who we draw, and how we play on match day.
Q: You are sitting 6th, tied on points with Manchester City for 5th in the Premier League. You had been in 3rd for some time but you fell to both Arsenal and Chelsea this month causing the drop. You still have a game in hand, but so does City. Where do you realistically see your club finishing in the table?
A: After the success we have put together over the past few months, I think it wouldn't be unreasonable to set our eyes on a Champions League spot. I think that we are ready for the competition, although it won't be easy. We will need to keep our focus sharp and finish the season strong because in this league you can't count on other clubs to start dropping points ahead of you.
Sucks to see you out of the FA Cup but man what a run are you having in the Europa League! You're just demolishing everything in your path. I expect a European championship by the end of your season and at least a Top 4 finish! You're getting some great results in the league with no signs of slipping up. A loss to Chelsea is understandable and the Arsenal match was really close! I'm positive City will slip before you ever do.Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
June 2018 - Season 6
FIFA '14
Objectives
League Objective: Qualify for Europa League
Champions League Objective: Reach Quarter Final
Domestic Cup Objective: Reach Round of 16
The Dons Trust
Transfer Budget: $39,000,000
Wage Budget: $190,000
After an amazing season AFC Wimbledon, still fan-owned, begin preparations for the new season and people are excited to see the "new chapter" Chavez mentioned last month. With qualification to the UEFA Champions League came TV contract deals and a mass increase in fans. With the increased numbers, The Dons Trust have raised a whopping 39 million USD in transfer funds, a record breaking amount for this club. We meet with Wimbledon manager Chavez who's currently managing Scotland in Russia for the 2018 World Cup.
"Yes, it's truly incredible and understandable at the same time. With more fans comes higher expectations and we're ready for that. The fans want their club to succeed, and have backed their demands with their wallets we truly appreciate it and I won't let them down, I can't let them down. The fans put their part, now I have to put mine. We'll make sure those funds are put to good use."
Q: With the club's success last season it was rumored that the board received several huge offers to buy the club, as powerful businessmen see this club as an important investment. How true are these rumors of a buyout?
A: "Very true, in the sense that the club did receive offers from several big money names, but there is absolutely no chance of it ever happening. Chairman Erik Samuelson spoke about it with me and I can confirm it right now that it will never happen. If anyone wants to buy this club, they can join The Dons Trust and become a part-owner like all the fans. Each member of The Dons Trust receives one vote like all other members regardless of how much money he or she puts into the club. They can then run to be a board member and other opportunities, but there is no individual owner of the club. This club was founded by fans and it will remain in the hands of it's fans."

2018 World Cup
The World Cup is underway and the only change to the starting lineup was the loss of Liam Bridcutt, who was sent back to England unexpectedly. He was replaced by his club teammate John Fleck, who has been a regular call up, at CDM. Aside from that the only other change was Callum Paterson at ST but that was a move we had predicted since before. Here is the full starting lineup:
Group Stage
Chile 0 - 2 Scotland
SCO: Armstrong 3' McGregor 53'
Scotland have started the World Cup on the right foot, as they displayed attacking power and dominance over Chile. Scotland really dominated Chile, recorded an incredible 15 shots on goal vs Chile's 1 shot on goal. Stuart Armstrong opened the scoreline very early on and then Celtic's Callum McGregor gave his teammates comfort with another goal. Both goals were assisted by Callum Paterson.
Scotland 2 - 0 Denmark
SCO: Paterson 14' 27'
Callum Paterson continues to show us why Chavez has chosen him over Rhodes and Russell, the strikers who had the most activity in the friendlies. Paterson's strength and speed makes him a difficult player to shake off the ball and very dangerous in the air. The young striker was linked to Wimbledon last season, but with these performances he has caught the eye of several other clubs.
France 1 - 2 Scotland
SCO: Armstrong 22' Souttar 41'
FRA: Said 82'
Scotland faced their biggest rivals from the WC Qualifiers and surprisingly dominated possession over them. The two teams faced each other in a friendly just two months ago. In that match, France dominated the match and Scotland were just barely able to escape with the draw. Now in the World Cup, France's midfield were overrun by Scotland's. France were still dangerous in front of goal though, but Scotland goalkeeper Jason Cummings was at the top of his game, this being the first match where he's actually called to action. Scotland were able to stop France's Paul Pogba from taking long shots, while in turn France completely disarmed Scotland's danger man Callum Paterson. Paterson often found himself between two or even three French defenders and was unable to shield the ball or find space to pass. The Scottish winger Gary Mackay-Steven picked up the slack though, and many times found enough room to cut in and shoot from the right wing. France were candidates to win the World Cup this year, but after this loss they must now wait for the result between Chile and Denmark. If Chile win, France will have to return home earlier than expected.
FIFA World Cup - Group A
1. Scotland - 9 points (+5)
2. Chile - 6 points (+0)
3. France - 3 points (+0)
4. Denmark - 0 points (-5)
FIFA WC Golden Boot
1. Diego Costa (Spain) - 4 Goals
Sturridge (England) - 4 Goals
2. Lucas (Brazil) - 3 Goals
Benteke (Belgium) - 3 Goals
A few big surprises in the World Cup. Strong teams like France, Uruguay, and the Netherlands have been eliminated in the group stage. Chile, Australia, and Austria respectively have passed to the next round. Mexico and Northern Ireland (sorry Tex) surprised many after finishing their group stage with 0 points.
Press Conference
Q: After a doubtful chain of results in the friendlies before the World Cup, you have returned the offensive power to Scotland and solidified the defense. You are now set to face Colombia who finished 2nd in their group in the next round. What are your thoughts with the matchup?
A: "Yes we have had a great start to the World Cup which is what we were expecting. The last two friendlies helped us with the little details we still needed and the players have put our game plan into action perfectly. Callum Paterson finished his season with Hearts in exceptional form and we knew we had to get him on the plane. Same goes for Callum McGregor who finished strong with Celtic. We saw great improvement with our defenders Souttar and Hanley as well and they've made sure the ball is stopped before it gets to Cummings."
Q: There were a few players that were on the list to go to the World Cup but they were suddenly sent back to their clubs just a few weeks before the tournament started. Some say it was because of sponsors and commercial rights. Could you settle this for us?
A: "I don't want to get too much into that. That was something that decision was made by my superiors and that's all I'm gonna say about that. They allowed me to keep my foundation which made me happy."
Q: One of the biggest questions leading to the World Cup was who would be your starting goalkeeper between Marshall and Cummings. In the end you chose Cummings over the veteran goalkeeper. How did you make that decision?
A: "It was very complicated, Marshall having the most experience of course, both have recently achieved promotion with their clubs to the Premier League, Marshall with Cardiff City and Cummings with Reading, but in the end we settled with Cummings who proved he was ready in the final friendlies. It was not an easy decision at all, kept us awake at night many times, but my staff and I decided Cummings was ready."
Alright, that's all for now. Very excited to keep going in the World Cup and get the transfer window underway.

TRANSFERS OUT: Abu Ogogo (CDM, 70 OVR), sold to Wolverhampton for $1.9 million. Adamo Tena (CAM, 69 OVR), sold to Nott'm Forest for $1 million. Conor Hourihane (CM, 69 OVR), sold to Null City for $1 million. Tim Payne (CM, 66 OVR), sold to Birmingham City for $800K. Scott Doe (CB, 66 OVR), sold to Ipswich Town for $450K.
TRANSFERS IN: James Collins (ST, TBD), agreed on pre-contract to 5-year deal for $25K in wages. Alex Nimely (ST, TBD), agreed on pre-contract to 3-year deal for $15K in wages. Ryan Mason (CAM, 66 OVR), purchased from Tottenham for $500K and agreed to 3-year deal for $9K in wages.
Where do I start? These were a difficult couple of months, starting with a very disappointing loss against Burnley who as you may see are second-to-last in the standings. One of those games when nothing goes in. What makes it more frustrating is that we go out for the next game and handle Nott'm Forest who are contending for a playoff spot (8th right now with 47pts). December had games against lesser competition (Sheffield, Birmingham, Huddersfield) that we weren't able to take advantage of and it obviously hurts now. About 3 months ago we were at the top of the standings for a week, now we're possibly 10 points out of direct promotion to the BPL. I know this is a lot of negative tone but rest assured we're not giving up, we just need to do really well in February and March because April is going to test us with 8 games and little rest in between. Finally our horrible luck in cup competitions continues as we were absolutely dominated by a team that may end up being related from the BPL at the end of the season. Unexplainable.
There was only one guy on our roster that received more transfer offers than Ogogo and that was our goalkeeper but I wasn't selling him no matter what. Those who have followed this career know that Ogogo has been my MVP from the get-go and arguably my favorite player. I wasn't even thinking about selling him but almost $2 million was too much to pass up for a team with pretty much no money. The Venezuelan kid from the academy, Fernando Monzon, steps up as the new CDM. Tena and Hourihane were transfer listed as neither ran away with the CAM position, though in fairness to Tena he was injured for a while. The bottom line is they didn't seem to fit with the rest of the starting XI and they represented income that was very needed. Payne was a free agent acquisition two years ago who did very well and developed nicely but with another academy product, Fabian Torres, improving and needing playing time it just made sense to sell Payne too. Now that Luke Wilkinson is firmly back from injury at CB Scott Doe could be moved because another academy product was ready to take over - Kagetoki Miyoshi, who did a fair job filling in for Wilkinson while he was injured. At just 17 years old Miyoshi already has the Tactician specialty (93 reactions, 96 aggression, 86 interceptions). There will not be new strikers for the rest of this season but Collins and Nimely will most likely be the starters next season. Akpom and Valencia have had too many opportunities to prove they should hang on to their jobs and have not taken advantage of it. Mason will be the starting CAM for now but Torres will push him for playing time.
Other than that I've decided to use the extra funds towards the academy. We let go one of our 1-star scouts and hired a 2-star scout to take his place. This new scout has been sent to Ghana for 3 months. The other two 1-star scouts have been sent to Brazil and France. They are all looking for attackers. They don't know it yet but the 1-star scout to bring in the least productive reports will be let go as well. Because no scouts had been on duty there have been no recent additions to the academy Here's the youth squad:
- Tim Brooks (CDM, 60-64, 82-88): 16 Y/O from the United States who will likely be called up to the senior team after this upcoming season. If he develops as expected he could take over at CDM allowing Monzon to move to another midfield positions (perhaps CAM?)
- Victor Meyer (CM, 58-62, 75-81): 16 Y/O from the United States who would benefit from staying in the academy for at least the rest of this season.
- Raffaele Molinaro (???, 51-59, 78-92)*: 15 Y/O from Italy is still not settled at a position. We hope he'll be an attacker but it looks like he'd be a winger at best. He could be our best prospect.
- Francisco Anibal (LM, 55-59, 72-76): 16 Y/O from Portugal described as technically gifted definitely needs to remain in the academy for now.
- Emilo De Mesquites (CM, 52-56, 71-75): 16 Y/O kid from Portugal would be smart to stay in the academy for a full season.
- David Antonio (CM, 47-49, 73-79): 15 Y/O from England has a long ways to go before he'll be considered for the senior team/
- Brian Donaldson (CAM, 46-48, 73-79): we're still holding out hope that this 15 Y/O from England will have CF/ST as a secondary position because of his 6'2" frame, but he is also far from being considered for promotion.
- Enric Tilea (CM 43-45, 71-75): 15 Y/O from Romania is described as a playmaker. Probably needs a couple of years in the academy.
- Manuel Burchert (CM, 52-56, 69-73): 17 Y/O from Germany doesn't project as much more than a role player and probably needs to be promoted after this season regardless of his progress.
- Kenneth Hansen (LM, 49-53, 68-72): 16 Y/O from Denmark whose best chance to contribute to the senior squad comes with staying in the academy for the rest of the season.
- Goncalvo Guterres (CF, 47-49, 67-71): This 16 Y/O from Portugal is our lowest rated prospect at the moment but he will play at a position of need.
* Denotes recent addition to the Y.A.
Current starting XI:
GK - Schober (69 OVR)
RB - Kim (65 OVR)*
RCB - Wilkinson (71 OVR)
LCB - Miyoshi (62 OVR)*
LB - Ilesanmi (69 OVR)
CDM - Monzon (70 OVR)*
RM - Elito (68 OVR)
LM - Reyna (72 OVR)
CAM - Mason (66 OVR)
RS - Valencia (62 OVR)
LS - Akpom (62 OVR)
(* = from the academy)
Reyna and Elito lead the team in scoring with 12 and 6 goals respectively. Reyna was named Player of Month for January and has just been a stud. Valencia and Akpom each have 3 goals while their backups (Scott and Obafemi) each have 5. Scott (29) actually has more apps than Akpom (22) because he comes in for Akpom in almost every game and when Akpom is too tired to start a game Scott often doesn't need to come off the field.
No news with Venezuela since there were no games played. We have a friendly with the Czech Republic this month before we return to WC qualifiers next month.

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
I would say a little. Higher potential players have higher base values even if they are the same overall as another player. I know this existed somewhat in '14 but it seems more pronounced in '15. Also I noticed that players in general seem to have gotten about a 10% bump in value even though they're overall ratings are the same (example Santi Cazorla was 18 million I believe in '14 but he's like 26 in '15)Comment

First season in (FIFA15)
Grabbed Ross County from the Scottish Premier League.
Last 3 games: D-L-W
Game 1 vs Dundee United. 1-1 draw. They scored early 10'. Got the equalizer at 84'. Then locked down on my D to escape the match with a draw.
Game 2 @ Dundee FC. 0-3 loss. I got thouroughly beaten up and down the pitch.
Game 3 @ Partick Thistle. 3-0 win. I actually put 5 shots on target out of 6 takem. The thistle put 3 of 6 on target.NCAA BBALL10 PS3

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
I know I've been MIA but work has kept me busy recently. Want to comment on some of you guys' careers.
Tex - I can't believe last season you struggled for so long in the Championship and now you're contending for a Champions League bid in the BPL. Amazing job. Sucks that you're out of the FA Cup but you're rolling in Europa League so keep it up! BPL may be the most competitive league in all of Europe so getting that top 4 finish won't be easy but I think you can do it.
Jayden and DRhino - I'm gonna make an effort to read back to the beginning of your CM's so I can have better context when commenting.
Terp - Nice moves in the transfer window although the most significant for me may be Vidal to Liverpool. That guy is a pain in the ***. Nice start to the season though.
JWetson - good to see you bounce back from that loss to West Ham with two solid wins. I know too much about losing games you should definitely win.
Chico - what a wild finish to the BPL getting you to the CL next season. Also congrats on winning Europa League I know how much that meant for you. Just a hell of a season. Your academy looks awesome. Your whole back line made the league's Starting XI and that's amazing. You're shocking the world with Scotland too. You may get my vote for best manager in FIFA 14.vrabbit

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Wow those are some rough results. But still plenty of matches left in the season. Also I am really surprised to see you sell Ogogo! I guess it's time to start bringing in the youth to a more prominent role! I know you'll do better these next few months and I think you will be right back up there fighting for automatic promotion by the last month of the season.... It was difficult to sell Ogogo, especially to a team in the same league, but Monzon definitely made the choice easier because he's such a well-rounded midfielder and I'm sure he'll fill in well now and become even better as time goes on. He was my super sub but really needed some more PT and now he'll likely stay on the Starting XI for a long time. There's just no question that I needed some money to take this team to another level and hopefully the moves will prove right. I'm also trying to upgrade my scouts because at the end of the day the academy is what's really going to lead to my success. I don't care if I win the league or not but direct promotion is definitely the goal and I'll be working hard to get back up there.

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Haha thanks man. I knew you'd like Thompson as soon as I saw he'd be a CF! He came in at 65 overall with strength being one of his best stats at 71. So far it looks like he'll be perfect for my playing style at right striker with Conor Marsden at left striker in the future. The only downside is his work rates which are low/low.
Can't believe Venezuela let you go. You have me scared now since I have a Scotland review before the World Cup. I don't know what I would do if Scotland let me go. It would be a huge career ruiner for me because of how much fun I've had with them and all the youth I've scouted. Will you be taking a break from international football or do you already have a team in your sights?
Your situation with the youth contract intrigues me. In the past, did you always offer only what he demanded, or did you ever give him more than he wanted? I'm thinking that may have something to do with it.
Actually at Dagenham Elito asked for a raise right before the transfer window then rejected the raise extension said he may play out his contract. It took some patience but he eventually agreed to the extension. I hope the situation with Yamura works out the same way, he's locked for another 4 years after allvrabbit
