Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

    FIFA 16 | PS4
    Season 1 | 2015-16

    December

    Match 14
    Tottenham 3-0 Chelsea
    Dembele 71'
    Walker 76'
    Lennon 87'

The lads just completely capitulated in the final 20 minutes. A sweet first time strike from Belgian midfielder Moussa Dembele opened the floodgates for Walker and Lennon to add a goal each.

    Match 15
    Chelsea 5-1 Bournemouth
    Hazard 22' (FK)
    Costa 40'
    Traore 51'
    Hazard 66' (Pen)
    Hazard 79' (FK)
    Rantie 81'

It was a set piece masterclass from Eden. Both his free kicks were sublime with the second hitting the post on the way in. He showed his calmness under pressure, slotting away a spot kick in between. Diego also added to his tally for the season while Bertrand certainly made an impression with a goal and an assist. Unfortunately we weren't able to keep a clean sheet as Bournemouth got a late consolation goal.

Abdul Baba Rahman Bruised Elbow 8 days

    Match 6
    Roma 2-1 Chelsea

    Dzeko 31'
    Griezmann 49'
    Pjanic 60'

Antoine managed a tidy finish among a throng of Roma defenders to get us level after an Edin Dzeko opener. The Bosnian alert to the rebound off a Courois save. The Belgian's opposite number had a great game stopping two Griezmann penalties. Dzeko's compatriot Pjanic sealed the win and top spot in Group B with another rebound on the hour mark. Our qualification to the next round was secured prior to today but the loss meant we finished second and drew the Galacticos Real Madrid in the Last 16. Roma ended up with Barcelona so I guess top spot didn't matter in the end.

Cesar Azpilicueta Sprained Ankle 4 weeks

    Match 16
    Leicester 0-1 Chelsea

    Hazard 45' (Pen)

Eden scored from 12 yards again to give us all 3 points away at the King Power. It was a resolute defensive display from the lads and we could have, and probably should have, scored a couple more.

    Quarter Final
    Fleetwood 0-1 Chelsea

    Bell 77'
    Lucas 84' (o.g)

Fleetwood keeper Lucas was an unmovable wall in between the sticks today. He made an incredible 15 saves but cruelly scored an own goal with 6 minutes to go. Antoine Griezmann came off the bench to smash a shot off the post where it bounced back off Lucas and into his net. Fleetwood were on the back foot for the entire game and things only got more difficult when left back Bell was sent off for a second yellow card in the 77th minute. We rightfully went through to the Semi Finals where Everton are our opponents over two legs.

    Match 17
    Chelsea 2-0 Sunderland

    Costa 45'
    Griezmann 81'

A solid 2-0 win with both of our strikers getting on the score sheet. Costa extended his lead at the top of the scoring charts with a goal just before the halftime break. Frenchman Griezmann sealed it in the 81st minute with a cool curled strike from 18 yards.

    Match 18
    Chelsea 2-0 Watford

    Ramires 38'
    Griezmann 87' (Pen)

It was a 4th consecutive clean sheet and win after the loss against Roma. Ramires stooped low to expertly head in a beautiful Willian delivery from a wide free kick. The Brazilians combined brilliantly. Antoine earned himself a penalty late on and stepped up to confidently dispatch it himself to score for two games running. Could this be the start of a run of form for the former Atletico player?

    Match 19
    Manchester United 0-0 Chelsea

A tough game that we are slightly disappointed in only coming away with a point. Old Trafford is a difficult place to come to but we definitely had the chances to win it. But at the end of the day United hung in there as well. It was a combination of poor finishing and 'never say die' attitude that led to a scoreless draw.

I'll look them up and adhere to them but with the limitations CMM already has I'm unlikely to break any rules anyways. Just so you know though this is a globetrotter CM so mu stay in the A-League will probably not be long. If I'm successful here and better opportunities come across I'll likely end up in a different league. I also didn't know about CCM's history developing Aussie stars. I always build teams through the academy and I'll definitely stick to Australia/Asia when scouting for youth and senior players. I'll read up on Berisha and I don't anticipate destroying anyone, at least not the 1st year.

CM's are gonna have to wait a bit until I'm up to speed on gameplay. A-league teams passing like they're Barca is not the business and I don't want to go down to pro.

FC Ural Player of the Month

RM Chisamba Lungu, 71 Ovr, 24 years old, Zambia

It was an incredible month for Zambian midfielder Chisamba Lungu who has been with FC Ural since 2010. In the final 3 matches of September, Lungu registered 1 goal, 4 assists, and 2 Man of the Match honors. With Gerson Acevedo suffering a broken ankle against Dinamo Moscow, Lungu will need to stay in sizzling form for Vadim Skripchenko's side if they are to maintain their surprising standing in the Russian Premier League table.

            Manager's Thoughts
The month started out poorly for us with a 2-0 home defeat to Anzhi Makhachkala, but from there, we really turned it on. Being able to knock off Moscow-based clubs Dinamo and Lokomotiv was huge as both of those squads are immensely more talented than us. August Player of the Month Gerson Acevedo did suffer a broken ankle against Dinamo however, and that is a real big loss for us. In the Russian Cup, we were able to meet the board's goal of reaching the quarterfinals as an Alexandr Stavpets hat trick propelled us to a 4-1 win. In the quarters we will meet Anzhi, so hopefully we are ready for them next time around.

            October 2015 - Schedule
            10/4 - at Rubin
            10/17 - vs Terek
            10/24 - at Amkar
            10/31 - vs Ufa

October will be massive in determining if we're really a contender for Europe or just pretenders. We begin the month traveling to Kazan to face Rubin, and with them breathing down our necks in the table, we need to at least get a draw to hold them off. Then we face 3 bottom side clubs in Terek Grozny, Amkar Perm, and FC Ufa. Two of those matches are at home, and the trip to Perm shouldn't be intimidating as we just won there in the Russian Cup 4-1. My goal is 10 out of a possible 12 points.

The table is one game into February so that's why there are a different number of games played for different teams, some had (including me) FA Cup games while others had league games.

              Transfer Recap

Serge Aurier arrives as some much needed right back cover. We have been stretched a little thin in defence this season so the Ivorian should help to reduce the strain. He has a good combination of pace and strength and can also fill in on the right of midfield and at centre half. His height is on 5'9" but his jumping more than makes up for it. Isco comes in as Fabregas' replacement after he left for the Italian capital for money we couldn't refuse. A second natural No. 10 was needed as support and competition for Koke. Isco was the choice due to him not getting sufficient game time at Madrid due to the likes of Kroos, Modric and James. He has incredible ability and will no doubt be an important member of the team.

Sorry for no game recaps, I'm just too tired to do them.

Happy New Year, everyone. Been away for a bit. I have a Newcastle update coming in the next 24, November through to the end of January. Been doing much, much better than I thought we would be 22 games into the season. Won't be altering the difficulty until next season, come what may. Some very interesting careers going on. Hope to catch up and comment on a few of them soon!

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

could you guys fill me in on what difficulty and/or sliders you're using? I've been playing on WC default for as long as I can remember but I'm getting frustrated with '16. I don't think I've won more than 2 games out of more than about 15 I've played. Most recently I created a tourney (world cup like) to use 2 teams: Argentina and Venezuela - so I could test the game with different levels of talent. I couldn't beat New freaking Zealand with Argentina. Most games I either draw or lose, and the games I draw often are a result of games I'm winning but the cpu ALWAYS managers to equalize near the end. It's ABSURD!!!

I really wanna figure this out so I can start my CM's

                    Pedro 22'
                    Falcao 41'
                    Falcao 74' (Pen)

Pedro opened the scoring with a strong side footed shot from 18 yards and then the former Barcelona man set up Falcao for the second. The same man rounded off the scoring from the spot.

                    Match 23
                    Chelsea 4-1 Manchester United

                    Rojo 10'
                    Costa 12' (Pen)
                    Costa 36'

                    Costa 74'
                    Hamsik 85'

The match was only going to have one outcome after Marcus Rojo was red carded and Diego Costa had put us 2-0 up within 36 minutes. Costa had gotten in on goal and was about to pull the trigger when the defender slid in from behind and floored the striker. The Argentine saw red and Costa converted from 12 yards. United strangely never brought on a replacement defender and this allowed Diego to add 3 more goals and take his scoring tally to 15 league goals. Summer signing Hamsik did manage to take away our clean sheet but was unable to prevent the loss.

                    Match 24
                    Chelsea 1-0 West Brom

                    Isco 81'

A lovely first time finish into the top corner from just inside the box gave us a tight win against the Baggies. Isco combined with Ramires to score a deserved goal for the Spanish international. We weren't at our best today but West Brom were unable to take their chances.

                    Huddersfield 0-1 Chelsea

                    Falcao 88'

Falcao scored another goal in the competition to snatch a late winner. We deserved it though as we dominated from start to finish. The snow made it slightly difficult to tuck away chances but Falcao did eventually in the 88th minute.

                    Round of 16 1st Leg
                    Chelsea 1-1 Real Madrid

                    Koke 11'
                    Bale 52'

Diego Costa's powerful shot from long range left Kiko Casilla scrambling and former Atletico man Koke was on hand to tap in the rebound. A back and forth game would eventually lead to Real gaining an away goal through Gareth Bale. Courtois came out to claim a corner swung in by Ronaldo but he misjudged the flight of the ball allowing Bale a free header into the net. We'll have our work cut out in the return leg.

                    Match 25
                    Chelsea 3-0 Newcastle

                    Isco 3'
                    Moses 26'
                    Griezmann 35'

Isco reacted first to a rebound before Moses did the same 20 minutes later to give us a two goal cushion. Antoine Griezmann added a third in the 35th minute to give us a comfortable victory.

                    Match 26
                    Southampton 0-1 Chelsea

                    Costa 8'

Koke set the league's leading scorer away and he finished as he always has this season, with a goal. That put him on 16 for the season. We kept it tight for the remainder of the game and got another 1-0 win.

                    Match 27
                    Watford 0-6 Chelsea

                    Pedro 6'
                    Griezmann 13' (Pen)
                    Traore 64'
                    Ramires 77'
                    Griezmann 80' (Pen)
                    Piazon 84'

(First game on Legendary with OS Community sliders!)

A complete performance from our second side. Pedro got the opener with a finessed first time finish from a cut back. Griezmann then converted a penalty after Chalobah was tripped as he went to shoot. Bertrand Traore added a third on 64 minutes, Ramires playing him through down the right and the youngster curled it around Riou with his favoured left foot. The former scored our fourth thanks to some poor keeping from a confidence sapped Riou. A fifth arrived in the form of another Griezmann penalty, this time Traore was taken down. Piazon came off the bench to slot away a sixth, his shot banging off the post and in.

                    Final
                    Chelsea 4-1 Southampton (A.E.T)

                    Wanyama 7'
                    Koke 85'
                    Willian 98'
                    Matic 104'
                    Costa 108'

The Saints took an early lead through Wanyama when he smashed in a rebound from Pelle's header off the crossbar. A free kick from the right was swung in and the Italian rose highest to head the ball off the bar. After pushing for an equalizer the entire game Koke finally broke the Southampton defence with 5 minutes remaining. He played a one-two with Matic, who was holding off his man. He turned in on his right foot inside the area and curled it into the top corner. Extra time would be needed and Willian would put us ahead in the 98th minute. He burst forward on the counter attack down the right and with the aid of a deflection beat Stekelenburg for a 2-1 lead. Matic would get one himself and cap off a MOTM display with an 18 yard strike 6 minutes later. Diego would finish the game getting clear of the defence and curling the ball into the corner.

Well we have our second piece of silverware this season, after the Community Shield, thanks to Koke's late equalizer and our ability to pull away in extra time.

7 points clear of United after 27 games, not too shabby. That has been down to our incredible defence, only allowing 14 goals this season 10 less than the second best, Manchester City. Having scored the most as well, it leaves us in a very strong position going forward into the final months of the season. The surprise package is Swansea City who remarkably sit 3rd with the opportunity to close the gap on United to a single point. Another surprise is seeing Southampton propping up the table after their amazing season last year and their run to the Capital One Cup final. New boys Norwich City and Watford are in solid positions in 9th and 12th respectively.

After seeing off Huddersfield in the last round we are paired up with Newcastle in the Quarter Finals. There are interesting matchups with Championship sides Hull and QPR going head to head and the Gooners facing Sunderland. The final game is Manchester City against Liverpool.

The biggest game this month is no doubt the 2nd leg of the Round of 16 clash with Real. After a 1-1 draw at home we need to go out and score at least once to cancel out the Spanish side's away goal. A tough ask but we'll give it a right go. Before that though we had two Premier League games against Norwich and Stoke. Both offer stern tests but we should come away with at least 4 points, more likely 6. After our Champions League trip we face Newcastle for a place in the Semi Finals of the FA Cup and then a game against Liverpool, whom we beat 3-0 last time out.

                    Thanks for Reading!

I'm using a set of OS Community Sliders from before any patches. (Don't have internet for the PS4 so can't download any gameplay patches ) It slows the game down a lot and aims for a more realistic game. My half lengths are 10mins so I don't know if those are too long for you. I had been on WC but today moved up to Legendary. It's all just about getting used to the game.

And if you don't want to use sliders then just stick with it mate! You just need some practice with it!

well I'm cool with sliders but I used Matt's for about 2-3 games and was still having the same problems. Half length isn't an issue for me as I'm not as caught up on stats as most (I keep my halfs at 8mins). Thanks.

First of all, welcome back. It's been ages. Hope all's good with you. As for the sliders, try these out. I've been using them since the week the most recent update came out. I'm 26 games into my season with Newcastle and have had a blast with these.

                            Controls - Semi passing/goalkeeping, Manual crossing/shooting/through ball

                            Sprint Speed - 40/40 (40/41)

                            Acceleration - 48/48 (48/47)

                            Shot Error - 52/52
                            Pass Error - 62/62
                            Shot Speed - 50/50
                            Pass Speed - 40/40
                            Injury Frequency - 75/75
                            Injury Severity - 35/35
                            Goalkeeper Ability - 15/15
                            Positioning: Marking - 40/40
                            Positioning: Run Frequency - 20/20
                            Positioning: Line Height - 65/65
                            Positioning: Line Length - 50/50
                            Positioning: Line Width - 80/75
                            Positioning: Fullbacks - 20/20
First Touch Control Error - 62/62

These make the CPU play more realistically and with greater variety in how they string together attacks. They also nerf the massively overpowered AI passing, tackling and goalkeeping. If you find it difficult to play on this, use the speed settings I've indicated in brackets. I tried out the new Holiday Set on the Community Sliders forum, but I wasn't too pleased with the results, and I don't want to derail what looks like a fantastic season with Newcastle. I might try those sliders again for season 2, solely because they seem to be getting decent reviews. I'd really like the CPU to be a bit less predictable, and that new set seems to do the job. It's just too much to get used to right now in the middle of a season. But give these a try. They'll definitely help you get a feel for the game.

                                Review

Where do I begin? Let's start with our excellent form over the last couple of months. We're unbeaten in 17 league games, including a seven-game win streak in November and December. Wijnaldum has been a monster with 16 goals from midfield, the best in the league. Cabella tops the assists chart with 8, and Krul is the best goalkeeper in the division with 10 clean sheets.

We had a short run in the FA Cup, crashing out in the round of 16 to fierce rivals Sunderland. I got things atrociously wrong that game, and Sunderland played a strong defensive game with their 5-4-1 formation. In the Capital One Cup, we reached the final, losing out to Everton thanks to nerves and a lack of cup final experience. Still, it was nice to make the final at least.

Tactically, I've moved away from the 5-2-3. Since the middle of January, we've been playing a standard 4-3-3 with the outside midfielders as close to the wings as possible without changing position. I'm still not sure if this is the formation I want to use. There's always the familiarity of 4-2-3-1!

As for the rest of the season, it looks like we're in with an unexpected yet welcome chance of winning the title. Somehow, I think Chelsea or United will edge us to it by a couple of points, but it would be fantastic if we could claim the most coveted piece of silverware in England. Without any cup ties to distract us, this could be our very best opportunity in several seasons.
