Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
@indiblue thank you for that insight I will definitely try and look for some of them. The players I brought in give us a little more pace as well. Empoli dropped a couple of matches tonight, showed some life,but the team is trying to get use to new personnel and adjustments.
@Simppu12 I am glad you changed your mind too. I like reading your updates as we'll. it's a couple things I realize, I look forward to your experiences and ideas involving CM in fifa and your stories motivate me in my CM as we'll. keep it up.Currently playing: (In order of Most Time)

How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
November 2018 - Season 6
FIFA '14
Arsenal 2 - 3 AFC Wimbledon
WIM: James 45' Gornell 50' Odhlambo 67'
ARS: Briseño 45' Icardi 52'
Intense match at the Emirates where each team equalized within 2 minutes twice before Wimbledon's youth graduate Richard Odhlambo scored the Dons' third goal. Arsenal's new signing from Mexico Antonio Briseño scored the first for the home team from a corner right after Luke James had grabbed the first goal of the match. Icardi would score right after Gornell, but Odhlambo scored the third and Arsenal weren't able to get back from that one. The goal is perhaps the young English midfielder's best so far, volleying a cross into the net. As we mentioned last month, the 18 year old struggled in the 3-5-2 but now that Wimbledon use a 4-2-2-2 formation he is excelling.
Champions League - Group Stage
Borussia Dortmund 0 - 1 AFC Wimbledon
WIM: Rhodes 79'
By giving priority to the league matches this month, the Wimbledon B team had to play this potential group decider and they did not disappoint. Shots were lacking today, since both teams focused on taking control of midfield more than shooting. The only goal of the match came from a corner kick in which the ball was sent up into the air from a rebound. The Dortmund goalkeeper called it and got in position to punch it away, but he did not read it right and his jump was off, while the 6'6" Wimbledon defender jumped up to head it into goal. The Germans argued that Rhodes had fouled the goalkeeper, but the referee didn't want to hear any of it and decided the goal was legal.
AFC Wimbledon 0 - 0 Chelsea
Another close match between the two London sides that kept the crowd on their feet the full 90 minutes. The star of the show was Chelsea's youth graduate Lyle Brown who kept Wimbledon's wingers from making any progress on his flank. The 21 year old fullback is already known for his speed and is certainly a player to keep an eye on as his career progresses.
Manchester City 2 - 5 AFC Wimbledon
MCI: Milner 13' 77'
WIM: James 25' Tafazolli 55' Harvey 60' Paterson 66' Tafazolli 80'
Only two points separated both teams, with Wimbledon in 5th place and City in 6th. This match was not only important because of a European spot on the table, but also because this was a rematch of last year's Europa League final. City went ahead first after Milner lost Baldwin's mark from a great run off the ball, then James was able to equalize not long after. From then on the match was very tense, with both teams created chances on either end. Surprisingly, City lost their focus in a span of 11 minutes and received three goals from the Wombles! Milner would get another goal to lessen the distance only for Tafazolli to score his second goal from a corner kick and bury the Citizens. This result marks Manchester City's 4th consecutive loss to AFC Wimbledon.
AFC Wimbledon 1 - 1 Newcastle United
WIM: Odhlambo 30'
NEW: Kemen 50'
Newcastle and Wimbledon have developed a bitter rivalry since Wimbledon's promotion to the BPL, particularly when Jackson Martinez was with the Toon. The past two seasons Newcastle have had very successful seasons while Wimbledon finished 10th and then in 4th place. This season however, the two teams live very different seasons, with Wimbledon in 5th place qualifying to Europe and Newcastle in 15th place only 5 points away from relegation zone. AFC Wimbledon dominated the first half, finishing with 59% possession and the lead. However in the second half Newcastle came out motivated to get back and not only did they equalize, they also balanced possession and only allowed one shot on goal from Wimbledon which didn't come until the 90th minute.
Champions League - Group Stage
AFC Wimbledon 3 - 3 Olympique Lyon
LY: Benzia 5' 26' 33'
WIM: Pell 13' Harvey 38' Eaves 48'
The Wimbledon B team came out to face the French side for the second time but this time they were not able to get a late winning goal. Chavez will still be happy with the draw after coming back from a 3-1 score line. The draw also puts Wimbledon clear from Dortmund and Lyon, securing a pass to the next round of their first ever Champions League!

Todd Zebroski - CDM (57-61, 80-86): 15 year old playmaker from England. Definitely one to keep an eye on but can't be promoted until next season.
International Friendlies
Scotland 3 - 2 Italy
SCO: Mackay-Steven 21' 24' Russell 86'
ITA: Cristante 41' Rossi 43'
Scotland hosted the World Cup champions and played on par for the full 90 minutes. Two quick goals from both sides had the game tied at 2-2 until a fresh Johnny Russell gave the Scots the win.
Hungary 0 - 3 Scotland
SCO: Russell pen 5' Forrest 20' Paterson 90'
Scotland took a dominant win over the Hungarians. Hungary were chasing the game the entire time with only a few moments of clarity, while Scotland dominated the match and obtained a scoreline to prove it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Gary Bowyer, manager of Blackburn Rovers, has asked Chavez not to call up striker Jordan Rhodes and centre back Grant Hanley to the national team for the remainder of the season. Blackburn are currently in last place of relegation with only 1 point in the league, and the manager does not want to risk any injuries, which tend to happen with Scotland. "It's completely understandable and I assure you there will be no hard feelings between us. Blackburn are in a tough spot this season after finishing mid table last year, and I understand that the manager would like to keep his players with the club during international breaks so they can get more training in. There won't be any more international fixtures until February, which gives us more than enough time to analyze who can be called up to take those extra spots on the roster." - Chavez, Scotland manager.
Back at Wimbledon, things are finally beginning to brighten up for the club and they are currently meeting the goal that was placed by the board. We've seen Chavez continue to use the 4-2-2-2 sometimes changing to a 4-1-4-1 when needing to defend the lead. We're expecting a busy transfer window for Wimbledon, the main reason being that Chavez has never used defensive fullbacks. For as long as we've known him, he prefers fullbacks that will push high and support the wide midfielders like Elliott Hewitt. He currently doesn't have a left back for the first team and has been using Jack Baldwin, a centre back, at left back and he's been doing a fantastic job but as we mentioned he's not the type of player Chavez is accustomed to using on the defensive wing. It is rumored that Chavez is prepared to spend big money for a left back, but that still needs to be confirmed. Wimbledon also have many midfielders and centre backs on the roster because of the previous formation, so they may try to offload some of them and bring in wingers which weren't used in the previous formation. 1st generation youth graduate Kyle Shelvey, who is currently on his second non-productive loan spell, may be called back. It is not known whether he will be given an opportunity with the new formation or if they plan on sending him out permanently due to his lack of development the past two seasons.
That's all we have for you tonight. We hope you enjoyed it! Reporting live from Kingsmeadow, Chico Bass - HYFCMG.
Exeter City F.C.
FIFA 15 - Season 1
The Grecians
October
Exeter City 5 - Bury 2
EXE - Wheeler 13', 37', 41', Wilson 18', Sercombe 87'
BRY - Lowe 35', 49'
Wheeler opened the scoring with a quick poke around the keeper. Wilson was the next to find goal as Nichols raced down the left side of the box and played the ball to him for an easy tap in. Bury cut the lead in half off of a great first time effort by Lowe. Wheeler found the answer with two quick goals. The first coming after he weaved his way through the defense and finished near post, and the next with a cheeky nutmeg of the keeper. Lowe brought some hope back as he headed in a goal, but Sercombe dashed those hopes as he fired into the top right of the net with the game winding down.
J. Paint Trophy
Exeter City 1 - Rochdale 0
EXE - Wilson 19'
Sercombe found himself with the ball at the top of the box and startd dribbling to the right before finding Wilson streaking down the right side. He laid it off and Wilson finished with a top class strike to the top left corner from a tough angle. A few threatening moments went by, but Wilson's goal proved to be the deciding one.
Accrington 3 - Exeter City 3
ACC - Joyce 45', 67', McCartan 59' (Pen)
EXE - Davies - 39', 51', Wheeler 45'
Davies found his way down the middle to finish to the left post for the opener. Wheeler then extended the lead as he finished a deflection into an open net. Right before the half a great display of passing led to Accringtons first goal to cut the lead. Davies then scored again as he calmly blasted a shot past the keeper on a breakaway. Poor defensive positioned led to a conceded penaly by McCartan, and then Joyced saved a point when he finished another great build up to even it up at 3-3.
Exeter City 2 - Cambridge United 1
EXE - Dunn 9' (OG), Williams 29'
CAM - Champion 45'
Wilson hit the post and in the chaos that ensued the defender and the keeper both went for the ball at the same time and it was knocked back into their own goal. Williams then extended the lead with a beautiful strike from a free kick on the left side of the goal. Cambridge halved the lead just before the half time whistle when Bennet mistimed his slide and left Champion open for an easy finish. A few moments showed promise the rest of the match, but the scoreline remained unchanged as Exeter went on to win.
Exeter City 3 - Tranmere Rovers 1
EXE - Cummins 45', Wilson 77', Wheeler 89'
TRA - Koumas 62'
Cummins continued his great form after receiving the ball at the top of the box. He made a quick turn to the right side of the goal and fired the ball past the keeper on the near post. Koumas then used a great touch to equalize for Tranmere when he finished his shot into the back of the net. Wilson then found himself with the ball in the break away and a quick cut to get the ball on to his strong left foot led to his strike to the far post. Wheeler then sealed the game in the 89th minute when he was played through on goal and easily beat the keeper 1 on 1.
Newport County 1 - Exeter City 3
NEW - Howe 40'
EXE - Wilson 4', 36', 56'
Wilson was the man of the hour scoring all 3 of Exeter's goals. He opened the game up with a great effort up the middle and beat the keeper to the left post. His second came as he was played through on a break away and drew the keeper out before calmly putting the ball past him and into the net. Howe then headed home a cross to keep Newport in the match. Wilson then answered with a header of his own that found it's way into the upper right 90 of the frame to complete his hat-trick.
Capital One Cup Round of 16
Exeter City 1 - Newcastle United 2
EXE - Wilson 89' (Pen)
NEW - Armstrong 27', de Jong 33'
Newcastle asserted their physical dominance early as Armstrong rose up and headed home the opener. De Jong then took advantage of a dangerous spot on a free kick and converted to double the lead. Exeter managed to pull one back late after Wilson finished off a chance from the penalty spot. Williams had a chance with a dangerous spot kick, but hit the wall on his attempt leaving Newcastle as the winners.
Youth Academy
Aaron McKenzie (England) 15 years old 48-60 OVR 69-89 POT. - At only 15 years old Aaron McKenzie still has a lot of growth to accomplish as a player. His position is yet undefined, but he is a midfield player through and through. It remains to be seen if he will fit more naturally in the center of the pitch, or in a more outside role.
Fraser Walker (England) 17 years old 46-56 OVR 61-75 POT. - The 17 year old player is making the majority of his appearences an attacking midfielder in the academy. He is known for his technical gifts in the midfield and has the potential to make the senior squad next season if he continues to develop well.
Exeter City Player of the Month
David Wheeler
David Wheeler took a big step into his role on the wing with the injury to Jamie Reid. He scored 5 goals this month, including his hat-trick against Bury, and embraced his newfound responsibilities without any reservations.
David Noble and Alex Nicholls Recalled From Loan
Oldham Athletic and Northampton have recalled David Noble and Alex Nicholls respectively from their loan agreements with Exeter City. This leaves Exeter manager, Tex Bumosix, in quite a dilemma with his selections with injuries in both positions these players were in. We will keep an eye on how the manager adapts the team in the coming weeks since he won't be able to add any depth until January.
Press Conference
Thank you everyone for being here. It was an interesting month we just had with our advancement in the J. Paint Trophy, and subsequent knock out to Newcastle in the Capital One Cup. We were able to overcome some injuries and continue to provide results, but we have also now lost more players due to recalls of our loaned in players. I would like to open it up to questions now.
Q: A great month in league play has you 4 points over Shrewsbury to top the table. Are you happy with the results?
A: I am happy with the results yes, but our team has some issues that are going to be very pressing going forward. The injuries combined with our loaned in players going back to their parent clubs has left us in a bind, but I have confidence that these players will overcome these challenges.
Q: Speaking of the recalls, how big of an impact will this have on your selections going forward?
A: Obviously Alex Nicholls was a first choice for us out on the wing, and his versatility to play both sides was important to us. Since Jamie Reid is currently out, we will have to get creative in order to replace him for the time being. David Noble was our best defensive holder in the midfield, so we will certainly miss his presence while trying to maintain leads.
Q: You have signed your first youth academy players since taking over as manager for Exeter bringing in two young players to begin their training with the youth teams. Is youth an important aspect for you right now or will you focus on building the team in other ways?
A: I think creating an effective academy is paramount to success in football. The great clubs know how to produce great talent. It will take some time, but I want to build an academy that is known as a bright spot in English football.
Thank you, but that is all the time I have for today. We plan to adapt going forward and to maintain our current form going forward. Looking forward to speaking to you all again.Last edited by texasbum06; 10-09-2014, 10:58 AM.Comment
Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Thanks! I must say this season has been perhaps the most stressful of this entire career but. I'm glad we're finally picking it up. As for Manchester City, I said it before I have them completely figured out. I hope saying this doesn't come back to bite me but I no longer feel worried when I have to face them. *knock on wood!
You're doing an amazing job with Exeter! First place is incredible and Wheeler is pulling through magnificently. The loss to Newcastle must have been annoying and painful of course, seeing your team overrun like that by superior strength. You'll get them backAlso can clubs really recall their loaned players in '15? I know we can, but now the CPU as well?
Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
When posting last night I could not think of the two teams that I lost to. The teams were Sampdoria and Udinese. The Udinese lost hurt because we had beaten them twice already in the season.Currently playing: (In order of Most Time)
CFB 25 Dynasties Mississippi St, Minnesota, UNC, Missouri, Pitt
Forza Motorsport
Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
TORINO SEASON 1
PRE SEASON
First of all I've had to post this from my phone as I'm having laptop issues so apologies if it doesn't look great.
Having taken charge of Torino the board have informed me they expect Champions League qualification, a round of 16 cup spot and to win the Europa league, to achieve this they have given me a £5 million transfer budget.
Looking at the squad it is pretty old, not much pace and very little creative quality. They also play a 3-2-3-2 which I don't like as a system so I've switched to a 4-4-2 narrow diamond for games where I would expect to get a result and a 4-2-2-2 for games where I consider myself the underdog.
For these systems to work I need pacey high stamina full backs as they provide my width in the absence of any wide midfielders. Sadly I only had 2 fullbacks in my entire squad, both of which don't have the necessary stats needed to fulfill the jobs I require of them. So this was the area I decided to really focus on in the summer transfer window. I also felt I needed a creative CAM as the squad was lacking any real creative spark.
I decided to sim my pre season matches to focus on transfers and scouting. After extensive scouting of Italy, England and Spain I identified my transfer targets and set to work on landing them while also clearing out some deadwood.
TRANSFERS IN
Pos Name From £'s
Rb De Sciglio AC Milan Loan
CAM Rafinha Barcelona Loan
RB Lora S.Gijon 3m
LB Nacho Vallecano 2.2m
TRANSFERS OUT
Pos Name To £'s
CB Morreti Elche 1.1m
CDM Barusso Kilmarnock 190k
CM Gazzi Parma 1.1m
LM Mino Eibar Loan
LM Masiello Terni 230k
RM Darmian Napoli 3m
All in all I was pretty happy with the transfer window. I managed to strengthen my fullback positions although my first choice was Nathaniel Clyne but he wouldn't sign a contract because he loved living in England and I wasn't going to be held to ransom over wages.
With the money left over I hired a 3*/4* youth scout and sent him out in Italy with the task of finding some promising young strikers.Comment
