Squad Review

Starting XI

GK: Thomas Kraft, 78 Ovr, 27 Years Old, 8/10
14 clean sheets in 41 appearances

This season our starting keeper had a drop in his form and he didn't concede in only 14 games. He still made some beautiful saves and kept us in many games but he also did a couple dumb mistakes. Kraft still is a good goalie with great reflexes and he will not get replaced.

RB: Dennis Diekmeier, 73 Ovr, 26 Years Old, 7/10
2 goals in 38 appearances

Diekmeier took the starting spot a few games into the season after Peter Pekarik had problems keeping up with wingers. Diekmeier took the spot and kept it his since then. He wasn't anything special, sometimes insecure in defence but he did his job well. Attacked a lot and scored two goals but didn't get any assists because of lack of crosses in our playing style. Will be dropped to the bench because De Sciglio is arriving.

CB: Fabian Schär, 80 Ovr, 24 Years Old, 8/10
3 goals in 39 appearances

This man was once again the most important defender of our team as he lead the backline and made a lot of crucial tackles and interceptions. He is fast, strong and a good tackler which is everything I want from a centre back. Schär managed to score three goals of which two came from corners. Really mature for his age and he's still improving. Will keep his spot.

CB: Matthias Ginter, 79 Ovr, 22 Years Old, 7.5/10
16 appearances

Our second starting centre back who we bought in January. He slotted in the starting eleven right away, taking our captain's spot. Like Schär, he's a familiar face from last FIFA but this time he didn't do as well. The young German has a lot room to improve and he will do so. Sadly he went up only by two in aggression this season. Mistimed a lot of tackles but also made a few important ones. Will continue in the starting eleven.

LB: Jose Gaya, 80 Ovr, 21 Years Old, 8/10
2 assists in 38 appearances

This man arrived to the team on the deadline day in the summer and he has been a really good signing. He's really young, talented, fast and attacking minded. He got two assists and he scored two goals, one in each net. He went up by three in overall and has been a good and solid defender. Will keep his spot.

CDM: Youssouf Mulumbu, 77 Ovr, 29 Years Old, 8/10
3 assists in 40 appearances

Mulumbu is another player who arrived in the summer and made the starting spot his. We got this player for free and he was a solid holding midfielder. He passed, tackled and defended well. Lacks a bit of pace and strength. Sadly he's becoming old and losing stats. Will get replaced.

CDM: Per Skjelbred, 77 Ovr, 29 Years Old, 8/10
1 goal and 5 assists in 36 appearances

The more attacking minded holding midfielder who game us some creativity next to Mulumbu. Did well in offence and in defence and he scored a goal and assisted another five. He is still growing in stats but he will start decreasing soon. Will get dropped to the bench.

RM: Domenico Berardi, 79 Ovr, 21 Years Old, 7.5/10
4 goals and 5 assists in 37 appearances

Berardi is another signing we made in the summer to improve the starting eleven. I hoped the young Italian would add a lot to our attack but he didn't deliver that. He did well, better than the stats suggest but he needs to make a bigger impact when playing. Only nine created goals isn't enough. Will probably keep his spot.

CAM: Hakan Calhanoglu, 82 Ovr, 22 Years Old, 9.5/10
14 goals and 15 assists in 41 appearances

The second superstar of the team who shined throughout the whole season was Hakan Calhanoglu. The attacking midfielder who we signed from Leverkusen in the summer was the perfect replacement for Ronny and he did everything I wanted. He is already 82 rated and he's only 22 years old. He had wonderful statistics, including his 14 goals and 15 assists which were really important. He formed a deadly duo with Alexandre Lacazette up front. Will keep his spot for a lot of years.

LM: Valentin Stocker, 81 Ovr,27 Years Old, 7/10
9 goals and 6 assists in 28 appearances

The second starting winger of the team was Valentin Stocker who didn't have a great season. He got injured in the beginning of the season which lead to him losing his spot to Bittencourt. When he came back he was nowhere near his top level and he didn't contribute that much to the team. Will leave for a big enough offer.

ST: Alexandre Lacazette, 82 Ovr, 25 Years Old, 10/10
41 goals and 7 assists in 44 appearances

Our absolute superstar of the season. A real monster who destroyed every defence. An amazing striker. It's hard to describe Lacazette because he was spectacular this season. He scored a Messi-like amount of 41 goals and he picked up seven assists. The most important player in our attack. Without him we weren't able to score almost at all. Will leave only if a team is ready to pay his €90 million buy-out clause.

Notable Substitutes

CM: Pierre-Emile Höjbjerg, 74 Ovr, 20 Years Old, 7/10
3 goals and 4 assists in 29 appearances

Our second-choice central midfielder who appeared mainly from the bench. Did well and created seven goals in his limited playing time. Didn't grow as much as I hoped him to but he was a solid substitute.

CAM: Hany Mukhtar, 71 Ovr, 21 Years Old, 7/10
7 goals and 1 assist in 35 appearances

Mukhtar, Hertha's youth academy graduate, had this season a bigger role than ever before as our second-choice attacking midfielder. Like Höjbjerg he got the majority of his playing time from the bench. Was alright, needs to assist more.

LM: Leonardo Bittencourt, 76 Ovr, 22 Years Old, 7.5/10
4 goals and 6 assists in 39 appearances

The substitute winger who got some playing time as the first-choice winger when Stocker was injured. Did fine, netting some really important goals and assisting some as well. Will continue to sit on the bench.

ST: Jean-Christophe Bahebeck, 76 Ovr, 23 Years Old, 5/10
2 goals and 2 assists in 30 appearances

Our substitute striker was aweful this season. He got many chances this season but he only scored two goals. Bahebeck also missed a lot of chances, including many one-on-one opportunities. He needs to improve. Will lose his spot on the bench.

Congratulations on a really succesful season! How does it feel to be the league and Champions League winner in your second season as a manager of Hertha?

Thank you! The feeling is something special, an amazing feeling of euphoria which I can't describe. I can just say that I'm really happy and I'm grateful to everyone for believing in me. The players were amazing and really professional, the fans were spectacular, supporting us in every game and the board trusted me. I think this season was really succesful and a wonderful experience.

Are you disappointed in losing the DFB Pokal final?

It hurt a bit then but now I have gotten past it and I couldn't care less about it. Of course it would have been better to win the treble but I would take any day of the year the Champions League instead of the DFB Pokal. Next season we will try to win the treble.

Was it surprising to win the competition in your first year in the Champions League?

Yes, a little bit. I was positively surprised when we beat PSG twice in the group and I was sure we would beat Spartak Moscow. I was afraid when we got drawn agains Real Madrid but when we beat them at the Olympiastadion I knew we could win the whole competition and we did. It was a spectacular journey which I enjoyed really much.

You decided to play a five-at-the-back in the final against Bayern after losing to them two weaks earlier. Did this tactical change decide the match?

I don't know. It helped us and gave as a bigger chance but it's not the only or the most important thing that decided the game. We had good luck and Bayern missed a sitter in the last minutes but I think we deserved to win. Our formation didn't change our game.

What are your expectations for next season?

I want to win the treble but I will take the German double. I think we have the ability to win the treble.

It's not really a new team. Carzola and Wilshere both forced transfers on me, so there was nothing I could do there. I think I got somethig better in return for both players.

The sad thing is good ol' Arnse left me with 6 quality players who play the same position (RM). I couldn't give those players away.

So... you want a centre back, right? Or am I mixing you up with someone? Anyway, Fabian Schär is a great defender who you can get for free. If you have more money Raphael Varane is a great player. Another suggestion is Marquinhos from PSG and a cheaper option would be Callum Chambers who can play as a CB.

So I went onto fifa last night for the first time in 3 weeks and tried to play my Aston Villa Career Mode but I really didn't get into it. So I have deleted it and after my exams (which start next week and finish on the 11th) I'll start up a new one. I have roughtly 12 weeks thats right 12 weeks!!! and will be playing alot. I looking to do a Southampton Career Mode or a lower league team

And suggestions for that lower league team will be awesome

Just giving an update. With my Swansea City CM I am taking a break from.

What I have started in the last week was a new project with CD Lugo. I am about 26 matches into the season. We are currently second in the the table with 52 points. We just lost in the round of 16 to Athletic Madrid 4-2 on aggregate.

The real emphasis on this career is to rebuild Lugo with all players through my youth academy. the problem I am facing right is not getting anyone to buy some of my players. I have four former youth academy players on the team now. I have about three that are ready for promotion hopefully once I get some transfers out.

Another hurdle was budget money, but after getting to the round of 16 that has helped that a little so i may continue scouting. On the field has been pretty steady treading, but off the field trying to change over the players is taking a little longer than expected. We give another update later in the week.

The player they decided to get was Southampton's Victor Wanyama who will replace Youssouf Mulumbu who moved back to England as part of the deal. Wanyama is a strong and defensive minded player who made a name for himself at Celtic before joining Southampton. Now he will continue his career in Berlin.

After a lot of disappointing games from Hertha's substitute strikers the club addressed that and bought Wissam Ben Yedder for five million and Julian Schieber from Toulouse. Schieber was never able to break in the first team and he got sent to the reservers by Bahebeck. The new arrival Ben Yedder will take the substitute spot and he will get rotated with the new first choice striker.

Saul Ñiguez

This transfer was made on deadline day which explain the high price for the young and talented midfielder. Saul is an Atletico Madrid youth academy graduate and he made his breakthrough in the 2013-14 season with Rayo Vallecano before coming back to Atletico. He also is a great free kick taker and he will take the place in the starting eleven as the creative holding midfielder.

The biggest signing Hertha made in the transfer window was a real shock. They managed to buy Sergio Aguero from Real Madrid for over fifty million euros after long negoatiations. After the departure of Alexandre Lacazette Hertha needed to bring in a world class striker and that's exactly what they did with Aguero. The striker had the best goal per minute ratio of the Barclays Premier League when he played for Manchester City and he won the league for them against QPR in 2012. Aguero is a fast and really clinical striker who has sadly had some injury problems.

Please give reasoning for selling Lacazette...he played so well for you last year. I mean the 85 million euros is a ton but IMO he was worth more than that to your team.

I was shocked when that happened. I counter offered 85 million to every offer and no one offered more than 45 million. Then I got ab offer from PSG and to my surprise they matched the offer. Luckily Aguero has been really good, too. He's also similar to Lacazette and thanks to the deal I got Pjanic.

Yes. We got our goal and capitalised on a team that was knocked in confidence. As soon as Burnley had confidence they were all over us. All game apart from those 3 minutes, they were better, so no, it wasn't a great result.

Yes but we still won didn't we. We are usually so good at defending corners but a misjudgement let them score. And for Flecks goal, I will agree it wasn't great defending but you have to give credit to John for pressuring the defenders into mistakes. Either way, Agard and Nouble both scored curlers from close range after beating the defence so all in all we played well.

Yes we have. We played amazingly today and hopefully showed Europe were more than just a Championship team. To score in 3 minutes, threading through the defence was great. Their goal was unstoppable but we were given a bit of an advantage by Toulalan's sending off immediately after. And Billy got in on the rebound to give us the win. Amazing, I'm so proud of the lads.

No, it says the keeper had an incredible game saving 8 shots. His saves astounded me, he was unbelievable. There is a reason he was man of the match.

We can't be sure yet but it looks like a broken ankle. It will keep him out for 3 months or more. Its such a shame as he was in good form for us.

No comment. If I make a comment I will talk to much. If I talk to much I will get in trouble. There are plenty of incidents that I could talk about like the penalty incident, the bad tackle and the bad offside call, but I wont, because I will get in trouble.

Hey guys, so let me explain my absence and other stuff:

I had my SE week this week (basicly a week full of Tests that count on your exams) so i had to study really hard last two weeks so the spare time i decided to just play the game. (I literally had about 1 hour a day to chill, because i also have sports.) So, i basicly played with my Feyenoord career mode, But now my SE week is over and im kinda getting bored with my Feyenoord Career mode. Im thinking of doing a Liverpool career mode, But i know that Jamie has been doing them for a while now, So i dont really know how he stands on that, Ive also been thinking of QPR, Leicester, and Crystal palace. I have not decided yet but that is what has been happening

I hope u guys understand, since you are my fellow Careermodians(Yes i just said that)
