At Mishcon de Reya our junior lawyers are the future of the firm. So we need bold individuals, shapers, who can revolutionize the way we work.

By the way, our business model is nothing new. It's essentially the same as any club's internal academy structure, except we don't source the product from in and around our home parish.

EDIT: Another aspect you failed to recognise is TV broadcasting revenue, which aside from the PL which splits it 20 ways, is negotiated by individual clubs. You know the story in Spain/Italy. And barely anything goes to clubs in France, Ukraine, Hungary, etc.
I know about all the TV broadcasting revenue, and I'm not going to defend Liverpool. We made the most in the Premier League from broadcasting last season and we needlessly spent it on players like Lovren. However, that point has proved my own. The teams in Spain other than Barca and Real get an unreal amount of money, and by unreal I mean awful. Take a look at this graphic that was on Sky Sports.

As you can see, league winners and Champions League finalists Atletico Madrid got less money than Cardiff City. The amount of money midtable teams in Spain is even less, in the £10 millions. This a completely unfair situation and in no way in FFP going to help them break into the European spots.

Every single one of your links supported my point. I was not criticising Chelsea, I was criticising FFP because if a team with ambitions wants to break into Europe, they have no chance without being fined.

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

I'd like to apologise for the low quality of my recent updates. I haven't really had the time but I wanted to get the content up for you guys, just so you could follow the results. I will try to get back into the swing of good updates, and the long awaited Eibar career will have started by the end of the week. However, as Indi said, real life things come first.

How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

Same as Rabbit, I would've liked to see Cambridge win. If it was a FIFA career mode, I would have chosen Cambridge. That's how I see it now haha

Does anyone here use gaming headsets? I'm in the market for one right now. I have a Turtle Beach P11 that was AWESOME on my PS3 but it loses all of its features with the PS4. Now I'm in between buying a Playstation Gold Wireless ($100) or just sticking with what I know and getting a Turtle Beach P12 ($60). I want the bass to thump every time I kick the ball lol Any thoughts or recommendations?

Well then, I guess we had a misunderstanding, because I also think FFP is a load of trash designed to protect the big clubs.

                  September 2016

                  World Cup Qualifying
                  Hungary 0 - Czech Republic 3
                  CZE - Kolar 45' (Pen), Krejci 75', Vydra 80'
                  MOTM: Kolar

Kolar stepped up and converted from the penalty spot just before the half for the first goal of the match. Kolar found Vydra in the middle of the box who made one more pass over the Krejci who hit it first time to bottom left corner of the goal. Kolar used great footwork to beat his defender and attacked the goal before laying it off to Vydra on the back post for the tap in.

                  World Cup Qualifying
                  Czech Republic 3 - Poland 2
                  CZE - Necid 16', Darida 22', Kolar 90'
                  POL - Blaszczykowski 11', Mierzejewski 21'
                  MOTM: Necid

Blaszczykowski found the gap between two defenders in the middle and struck the ball past the keeper to open the scoring. Necid answered quickly after he headed a cross from Dockal into the top left corner. Lewandowski hit a header off the crossbar and the rebound fell to Mierzejewski who struck it home for the lead. Darida received the ball from Necid running down the middle and took a touch left around the defender before placing it around the keeper on the near post. With time running out Kolar attacked the top of the box before reversing back to his right to get free and fire to the far left post for the winning goal.

FC Bayern 2 - FC St. Pauli 3
                  FCB - Muller 31' (Pen), 64'
                  STP - van Nieff 33', 73', Michal Mak 39'
                  MOTM: van Nieff

Muller put Bayern ahead first after being awarded a penalty on an audacious dive in the box. Michal Mak fired a shot that was kept out by the keeper, but van Nieff was there to tap in the rebound. Yoell van Nieff played the ball ahead to Storm on the left wing who sent in a cross that found Michal Mak's head back to the right post for the lead. Lewandoski sent a cross in that Muller was able to head from way out perfectly into the top right corner for the equalizer. Çiftçi found van Nieff coming up the field and laid it off for van Nieff to take a touch and then hit an absolute screamer from more than 30 yards out into the top right corner for the winner.

                  Europa League Group Stages
Villareal CF 2 - FC St. Pauli 1
                  VIL - Dos Santos 27', Dzyuba 83'
                  STP - Hallberg 77'
                  MOTM: Stanek

Gomez played a ball into the middle of the box that Dos Santos was able to run onto and hit with his left foot right over the keeper's shoulder. Buchtmann received the ball in the midfield and played it to his left ahead of Hallberg who went for the spectacular attempt from way outside the box and saw it settle perfectly into the top right corner of the goal for the equalizer. The tie didn't last long as Bacuna left his man completely unmarked for a back door run and an easy goal for Dzyuba inside the box.

FC St. Pauli 1 - SC Freiburg 1
                  STP - van Nieff 90'
                  SCF - Osvaldo 74' (Pen)
                  MOTM: Rakovsky

Osvaldo stepped up late in the match to convert a penalty after Freiburg was awarded a questionable penalty on minimal contact inside the box. With time running out Rubin attacked the middle of the defense and picked out a gap to play the ball to van Nieff on the top left edge of the box. Van Nieff hit it first time with his weaker right foot and placed it perfectly into the top right corner of the goal for the equalizer.

Eint. Frankfurt 0 - FC St. Pauli 0
                  MOTM: Rakovsky

Frankfurt dominated the game in almost all aspects, winning the possession battle with 56% and outshooting St. Pauli 13-6. Rakovsky seemingly built a wall in front of goal and saved the match for St. Pauli with his 13 saves.

                  FC St. Pauli 4 - 1860 Munich 1
                  STP - Çiftçi 43', 48', 89', Mateusz Mak 90'
                  M60 - Rodri 82'
                  MOTM: Çiftçi

Mateusz Mak found Khedira up the middle who chipped it across the box for Çiftçi to volley home. Hallberg fought off a challenge just outside the box and then laid it off to Çiftçi running into the box who struck it first time to the bottom left corner. Sobiech lost the aerial battle to Rodri on the cross who hit the crossbar and then followed up the rebound. Çiftçi got the ball in the final third for the counter attack and used his pace to get into the box and hit a left footed shot to the top right corner. Buchtmann tracked down a rebound to the left side of the goal and pulled it back before picking out Mateusz Mak on the back post for the tap in.

                  Europa League Group Stages
FC Twente 2 - FC St. Pauli 2
                  TWE - Corona 24', Borven 33'
STP - Çiftçi 13', van Nieff 90' (Pen)
                  MOTM: van Nieff

St. Pauli opened early as Çiftçi got the ball and ran at the defense moving his way left before firing back to the bottom right. Coronoa made a diagonal run right in front of goal and get the ball for a quick strike past the keeper. Borven then tracked down a rebound and slid to beat Buballa to the clearance and tapped it into the goal. Bacuna dribbled in from the right wing and was taken down inside the box giving van Nieff the opportunity to convert the penalty for the last minute equalizer.

St. Pauli Player of the Month

                  Yoell van Nieff

Yoell van Nieff stepped up this month in a big way. Netting a total of 4 goals, and putting in some hard tackles in the midfield, the manager had no choice but to keep selecting him and ride his superb form.

                  Press Conference
Q: An improved defense has seen you rise to 7th, but your attack has been inconsistent at times. What do you have to say about the results from this month?

A: I am happy with what I am seeing out there. We still have our lapses on defense, and we are giving up inexcusable penalties, but it is certainly better than recent months. Our attack isn't a worry for me, I know the quality of players we have and there are still several matches where we are scoring at ease. It will all come together and get more reliable sooner rather than later.

Q: An absolutely unbelievable win over Bayern Munich this month away from home. Tell us what you were thinking as the match was winding down?

A: First of all, Yoell van Nieff was outstanding. I am proud of the defense in this match as well. Muller was able to score two on us, but one was an fantastic header from him, and the other was a ridiculous dive in the box that the ref rewarded him for. I know I will probably get in trouble for that, but it needed to be said. We fought hard though, and it was 3 points that we definitely deserved from that match.

Q: Your start to Europa League play was less than idea, only taking 1 point in your first two matches. What can you do to get better throughout the rest of the group stages.

A: It is a very tough competition against clubs that finished towards the top of their leagues all around Europe. We never expected it to be easy, but I'm not too upset with the results considering both were on the road. Villarreal is a great club and losing by a goal isn't a bad results. Likewise, taking a point from Twente is a results I am happy with. Our goal will be to earn 3 points each time at home, and that should put us in a great position.

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

                    The Wednesday: November 2014

                    November 1, Hillsborough Stadium
                    FL Championship: Matchday 13

                    SHW 3-1 WIG
                    9' 30' 67' May
                    6' Weimann
                    MotM: S. May (SHW)

Wigan's summer signing Andreas Weimann scored early to give the visitors control of the game, but it was short-lived as Stevie May equalised quickly after, and went on to score a perfect hat-trick to help Sheffield Wednesday stay level on points with league leaders Norwich City. The win brings May's tally in the league to 8 goals in 13 games.

"You never want to concede a goal so early on in the game, but Stevie proved why we paid so much money for him in the summer. It was a tremendous show of resolve to come back after giving the lead away so soon. My players displayed great maturity to fight back without losing hope, and it speaks volumes about their ability and talent."

                    November 8, Craven Cottage
                    FL Championship: Matchday 14

                    FUL 0-5 SHW
                    6' Palmer, 26' Coke, 67' May, 76' McCabe, 84' Lavery
                    MotM: C. Lavery (SHW)

Few people expected a team as full of talent as Fulham to be anything but favourites going into this fixture, but Sheffield Wednesday had other plans. The visitors decided to make their mark by humiliating what should be the best side in the vision, putting five past them through five different goalscorers. Caolan Lavery was the outstanding performer for Wednesday, setting up two before netting a late penalty as a reward.

"It was just one of those nights where everything went right for us. I'd rate all 14 boys who played a part tonight as 10/10. They did such a fantastic job keeping the ball, creating chances, and then burying them when the opportunities came. I think we had 12 of our 15 shots on target, which is fantastic on its own, but when you combine that with our 92% pass completion rate, it speaks volumes about the ability we have. I'm pleased that Caolan was able to get on the score sheet after putting in such a shift."

                    November 11, Hillsborough Stadium
                    FL Championship: Matchday 15

                    SHW 3-1 HUD
                    21' Lavery, 49' Mattock, 53' Lees

It was yet another Yorkshire derby, this time between the hosts from South Yorkshire and visitors from West Yorkshire. Sheffield Wednesday proved to be the better side, scoring three clinical goals through Caolan Lavery, Joe Mattock, and club captain Tom Lees. Huddersfield's late goal through Adam Hammill proved to be too little too late.

"I mentioned earlier in the season how important it is to win the derbies, irrespective of how big or small the rivalry might be. We did a fine job today. The first half was all back and forth, and I think we were fortunate to go into the break with something to show for it. We came out of the blocks with real force in the second half, which put us 3-0 up in less than 10 minutes. We would have liked a clean sheet, but the way we're playing, I think everyone will be satisfied to come away with three more points."

Sheffield Wednesday visited Rotherham for their third Yorkshire derby of the season, this time playing within South Yorkshire. Perhaps it doesn't carry the prestige of a Steel City match with Sheffield United, but it was one that Wednesday went into with a desire to win, and win they did. Rhys McCabe scored the only goal late on, prodding home a loose cross whipped in by Jacques Maghoma, who was named as man of the match for his brilliant display. However, there is terrible news for Wednesday, as their top scorer and star player Stevie May was substituted at halftime with suspected damage to his knee ligaments. Indi Blue will be hoping that scans prove otherwise.

"That's three wins in three derbies this season, which is not a bad way to start your managerial career. Rhys is becoming a big player for this club, and it's easy to see why he's regarded so highly by his coaches and teammates. We took Stevie off at halftime as a precaution, but there is an injury there. The doctors are hopeful that his scans won't show much damage, but we have to be prepared to deal with whatever it is."

Sheffield Wednesday's unbeated record in the league came to a surprise end with this 1-0 loss to Watford, who languish five spots above the relegation zone. Wednesday failed to create any chances of real susbtance, instead spending 90 minutes looking as though Stevie May's expected two-month absence has drained the momentum from their promising campaign for promotion, and possibly even the league title. Indi Blue was more optimistic in his post-match interview, choosing to praise Watford's efforts.

"You have to hold your hands up and say you were beaten fair and square. Watford did their job better than we did ours, and by virute of that, you have to admit that they were the better team. I think we just had a poor game, but I'm not upset. After such a good run, I think the players can't be blamed for making a few mistakes. My belief is that fatigue and the weather of the winter months have caught up with my boys, and that's something we'll have to deal with. We also have to accept and deal with the injury to Stevie, but the lad is just 21, and he can recover from the ligament damage in a few months. We're just grateful that it was his MCL rather than his ACL."

                    67' Lavery
                    MotM: K. Westwood (SHW)

Following the defeat to Watford, Sheffield Wednesday again looked devoid of creative juices. Only a defensive error allowed them to snatch a lucky goal. Latching on to a weak back-pass by left back George Elokobi, Caolan Lavery managed to wrong-foot Carl Ikeme, rounding the veteran keeper before passing into an empty net. Indi Blue was once again quite upbeat after the match, once again commending his opponents.

"A lot has to be said of the Wolves defence. It's never a good feeling when one small mistake costs you the game, but that's the reality of slipping up against a team with players as good as ours. That one error aside, I think Kenny Jackett set his boys up to mark us out of the game, and they did that for 90 minutes minus a few seconds. I see them in eighth, just a few points out of a promotion spot, so I expect their manager won't be either happy or upset with today's showing. As for my players, I have nothing to complain about. You always need a game or two bounce back from a loss, and these boys haven't known the feeling of losing in a while. It's good for them to be reminded of how much they hate to lose, and I think we should soon be back to our best form."

Come the end of November, Sheffield Wednesday sit top of the Championship by two points, having defeated Wolves by the narrowest of margins to capitalise on Norwich's draw. They are also a staggering 15 points ahead of seventh-placed Derby County, who have a game in hand due to their progression in the Capital One Cup. Nobody involved with Wednesday could have envisioned such a brilliant start to Indi Blue's time as head coach, but such is the situation that promotion is now a very real possibility. Fans of the club will be almost expecting their team to make the jump to the Premier League after a strong display in these 18 games, but there are other things on Indi's mind.

"It's a fantastic feeling to be top of the table, but there's still a long way to go and 84 points to play for. What we need to od is start December prepared for the months that lie ahead. The games will come thick and fast once the FA Cup begins, and we want to have a decent cup run to go with our performances in the league. Internally, we need to ensure that our players are happy, and this includes contract negotiations. In terms of transfers, we don't expect January to be a very busy time; both my board and I are not fond of the winter window. There may be some departures, but I probably won't sign anyone despite the ending our loan agreement with Royston Drenthe. Should the opportunity to sign a lad of exceptional talent present itself, that's a chance we'd pursue, but I don't see us being too active."

What a mixed month you've had, Tex! Two excellent wins with Czech Republic to start the month, and then you go on to top that by beating Bayern with a (sort of) late goal. Villarreal loss is understandable; they are one of the more underrated teams in Europe. Two draws on the trot against Freiburg and Frankfurt aren't ideal, but two points are better than none, eh? Also seems you have Munich in your back pocket, beating 1860 by a hefty margin. And then the draw with Twente... what a month! YVN has been massive for you lately, well earned POTM award for him.

Hey guys, this is my first post here. I have been a lurker for a while and I thought I might as well get the ball rolling.

I am still playing FIFA 14 on PC as I did not find the need to move up to 15. I started a CM with Blackpool. Enjoy. I'll try to make it more detailed in later posts.

Blackpool appoint Vinu as new boss.

Blackpool today have confirmed the appoint of assistant manager Rishi Vinu as their new boss.

"Vinu excelled in his duties as Assistant manager last year" Club Preisdent, David Eardley said. "The players are very close to him and they too feel that they can be comfortable under him."

It's a gamble by the board to place their faith in such an experienced manager, especially after sacking 3 managers during the last season, which Blackpool narrowly avoided relegation by just a point.

"Ridiculous" said renowned football pundit Noel Gallagher. "I have nothing against Vinu, but if Blackpool want stability, they need experience, which Vinu doesn't have."

Vinu was not available for comment, but is expected to hold a press conference in the coming weeks.

Brighton opened the scoring 5 minutes in with Mackail Smith netting in the first goal but Blackpool equalized around the half way mark thanks to a superb strike from outside the box by Angel Martinez. Davies scored a couple more to make the score 3-1, Brighton pulled one back late in, but substitute Delfounenso scored seconds later to seal a 4-2 victory for the visitors.

                        Blackpool 1-1 Blackburn

The first half of the game finished with no goals but a decent amount of chances for either team. Blackpool were awarded a penalty around the 50th minute which Ince converted comfortably. Blackpool looked on course for a 1-0 win when a last gasp strike from Fabio Nunes of Blackburn salvaged a draw for the hosts.

                        Milwall 4-0 Blackpool

Milwall scored in the first half thanks to a horrible defensive mix up by Blackpool. Milwall added 3 more goals in the second half, including one by new signing Bailey, to seal a 4-0 rout.

                        Blackpool 2-2 Yeovil Town

Manager Rishi Vinu decided to put 39 year old T.Warner in goal instead of regular Gilks and it proved to be a fatal mistake with Warner scoring an own goal in the first half to gift Yeovil the lead. A superb play from Blackpool culminating in a Davies finish leveled the scores before Yeovil made it 2-1 in the second half. A late 85th minute goal from Davies earned Blackpool a 2-2 draw.

                        Derby 1-2 Blackpool

Blackpool were up against a top half side this time around but stunned the home crowd by opening the scoring through Michael Chopra. Sammon equalized moments later for Derby but another late goal for Blackpool, this time by Michael Chopra, sealed a narrow 2-1 win. Blackpool had just 3 shots on goal, 2 being on target and must be thanking the stars for winning the game.

                        Capitol One Cup

                        Plymouth 0-3 Blackpool

A comfortable victory for Blackpool over a lower division side. New signings Davies and Chopra both grabbed goals, with Davies scoring 2 of Blackpool's 3 goals.

                        S. Davies

The new signing has been an instant hit. Scoring 6 goals in all competitions including 1 assist. Not many expected Davies to get off to such a strong start but if he keeps this up, Blackpool may be able to secure a promotion spot.

                          Karim Benzema

The French striker finally found his great form after struggling in the past months. He was clinical in attack and showed why he's the starting striker of the best team in the world. Benzema found the net six times this month and he decided many games with his goals.

The real Benzema is finally back and he scored six goals.

                          Luka Modric

The midfield magician had another good month for the Red Devils in April. The 32-year-old controlled the tempo of the game in the midfield and he completed a lot of passes. Modric played a very important role in the Champions League semi finals against Barcelona when he scored three goals and picked two assists in both legs.

                          Gareth Bale

April wasn't the best possible month for Gareth Bale but the winger still managed to score a couple of important goals, including his brace against rivals Liverpool. Like always, Bale played well and was important for his team.

Welcome to the thread! I'm glad you decided to join us and I hope that you enjoy your time here!

I liked the update, it was clear and nicely written. I would just suggest using smaller images and a bit smaller font in the 'player of the month' and 'Capital One Cup' bits. Also, it would be interesting to see your starting eleven, the league standings and the transfers you made.

Revenge on Denmark! Then a what looks like a tough 1-0 win over Bulgaria (Simp=) before 2 hammerings given out to Ireland () and Bulgaria (Simp= ). League action looked like it started tough with 1-1 draws against West Ham and Leicester. But then you picked it up and beat Chelsea, City, Sunderland and Swansea (Who I hear are very tough ). A fantastic result against United in the cup too! Then Chelsea again in the quarter final. Europe has seen you get a draw and a win against Milan and then a draw with Sociedad, who are both decent teams so well done on picking up points in all 3 games. Top of all 3 tables is very good going. Also looking forward to the Eibar career!

2 good wins with Czech in the qualifiers. I hope you can go far with them! Then a great win against Bayern! The next 2 league games were a bit disappointing but what a win against the other half of Munich! Unlucky against Vilarreal and Twente seem to be doing well in that group so a point is good. Hopefully next month you can push up both tables!

5 wins from 6 is a very good month and in the first few games you were scoring for fun! Very unlucky with May's injury. He looked like a gem and a real player to build around. Westwood in goals seems to be doing well too. Must be the Irish in him! Good to see you in 1st place too!

As Simppu said, maybe use a smaller picture and smaller font for the headlines. You had a good preseason but then a fairly poor start to the campaign. You seemed to pick it up towards the end of the month so hopefully you'll carry that from over into the next month. Davis seems to be doing really well for you! Also welcome to the thread man and I hope you enjoy it!

A very good way to start a month with United is to beat City! Benzema is back in the building!!! Unfortunate against Spurs but luckily you had done well enough in the 1st leg. Then the rest of the month was wins including a demolishing of Barca in the Champions League semis! Also getting into another final in the FA Cup and a 20 point lead in the league. The treble is on!

                                Spoiler

While Dagenham was putting the final touches on a second consecutive season at the top of its league in 2014-2015, the board was doing everything possible to find young talent to bring to the club's academy, a challenge given the fact they couldn't afford to hire anyone but scouts with poor judgement and limited experience. Towards the end of the season they felt as if they had some decent pieces in the academy, having brought in promising players such as Seok Min Kim, but a couple of other high-dream prospects shocked the team by requesting to be promoted early: Dario Verdejo and Kagetoki Miyoshi. Both players have had an uphill battle since getting their way, Verdejo going out on loan every season while Miyoshi initially saw action with the team but soon showed he wasn't ready to be a part of the rotation and hasn't had as much luck as Verdejo with loan opportunities. Their departure also seemed to have weakened the academy until the board realized that at the same time they were promoted a new kid from Venezuela joined the youth squad: Fernando Monzon. His road to where he's at today has been somewhat of a fairy tale.

Monzon was signed by Dagenham at 16-years old after impressing scouts at a workout in Caracas, Venezuela. He joined the academy in March of 2015 and continued to impress coaches and scouts on a weekly basis. Initially he was projected to be a CM but eventually coaches realized his skill set was better fit for a midfield role, preferably CDM. However, CDM was not a position of need at the time with Abu Ogogo being named team MVP for the season and also being listed as part of League 1's Starting XI, so Monzon remained in the academy continuing to work on his game.

At the beginning of the '15-'16, when early injuries thinned the depth at CAM, the club decided to promote a then 17-year old Monzon (admittedly also due to a low budget) sensing he could be an asset to the senior squad. The Venezuelan made his debut in early September in an away scoreless draw against Milwall after another injury shortened the depth at CAM even more. Moreover, the Venezuelan national team also noticed his progress at Dagenham and this earned him a call to the team's World Cup qualifying games against Paraguay and Bolivia. Monzon made his debut with Venezuela as a starter against Bolivia and promptly scored his first goal ever for the Vinotinto in the first half of a 4-1 win.

                                Spoiler

A door opened to Monzon's career when the subsequent winter transfer window arrived and Dagenham was offered nearly $2 million for Ogogo by Wolverhampton. While Ogogo continued to be the glue of the team the club was in deep need for funds and it was nearly impossible to pass up on the offer. Ogogo was sold for $1.9 million, money that was mostly used to bring in James Collins and Alex Nimely on pre-contract. Stepping in to fill the void at CDM was Monzon, who idolized Ogogo since his very first day in the academy. At that point scouts already rated the kid as the team's 3rd best player behind only Yordy Reyna and Luke Wilkinson. Monzon would go on to score his first goal in a Dagenham uniform in a 1-1 draw at Bolton towards the end of January. He scored again in February in a 5-2 win at Blackpool, then again in March for the first time at home in a 3-0 win over Barnsley. Towards the end of the season Tim Brooks was promoted from the youth squad, taking over at CDM and moving Monzon to CAM. The Venezuelan finished the season with 3 goals and an assist and a new role (CAM) to look forward to in '16-'17 after Dagenham lost in the final game of the Championship playoffs.

In '16-'17, two seasons ago, Monzon got off to a nice start in August before suffering a torn groin in practice in the beginning of September which forced him out of action for a couple of months. Nevertheless, he returned showing he hasn't missed a beat and was a consistent contributor for the Daggers as they achieved promotion to the Premier League. Monzon finished the season with 8 goals and 11 assists but Tim Brooks failure to perform well at CDM during the season made the coach decide to move Monzon back to his most natural position of defensive midfielder. Last season, although moved further away from the box, Monzon had the best season of his young career, scoring 8 goals for the second consecutive season (thanks in large part to being the team's best kicker from the penalty spot) to go with 4 assists. He also manned the defensive midfield in a way that would had made Ogogo proud, and his top performances were rewarded by the league journalists as he was named into the PL's Starting XI.

His unstoppable progress also led to him unseating Tomas Rincon as the starting CDM for the Venezuelan national team heading into the 2018 World Cup, and he put himself into the record books as the youngest (19) Venezuelan player to score in a World Cup when he scored a penalty kick against Poland in the last game of the group stage.

This season Monzon got off to a bit of a rough start by missing two penalty kicks in the season's first game against Chelsea in the Community Shield. His first miss came near the end off the game when a likely game-winning shot was saved by Courtois, while his second miss came during the penalty kicks round as he sailed the ball over the top post. However (**SPOILER ALERT**), he recently showed he's bounced back from that disappointing start to the season by scoring two goals against Aston Villa, the last of those in clutch fashion.

Currently Monzon is Dagenham's best player not named Locadia and scouts project him to develop into a better player than the recently-arrived Dutch in a couple of years. Fans just have to hope the Venezuelan's price tag won't get so high that the team will be forced to sell him, as undoubtedly the offers for him from European powerhouses should start arriving sooner than later.
