I decided on Bournemouth since I haven’t really got used to Fifa 14 just yet as I promised myself I would actually finish a career mode on 13 before venturing into the career mode on 14, Bournemouth has some pretty decent groundwork set up for the future and 2.5 Million Budget gives me just enough freedom to spend.

Difficulty: World class, 6 min halves, lenient budget, default game settings (getting used to the game) I’m using the default squads.
Season Objectives: Finish Mid Table, Reach round 32 in a domestic cup.

Right off the bat I purchased an English 2*/3* scout and a Northern Irish 2*/2* scout and sent them both off to their home countries for 9 months looking for anything.

Im currently scouring the globe for a young LB to replace Ian Harte as an understudy to Charlie Daniels next season and a relatively young CDM and a CAM, both with room to grow.

…and in my very first youth scout report in England, I happened to come across a 6´4 52-72 OVR 76-94 POT Goalie. Im only promoting him once I get a better idea of his Overall and Potential, but he looks an absolute gem : )

Alright so second game as Everton manager and the pairing up front of Lukaku and Traore is just absolute beastly. Sadly though the duo weren't able to help me overcame my defeat to Southampton 2-1. I was eliminated from the Capital one cup.

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

With the summer transfer window closed, I couldn´t complete a deal for a RB or CM but that´s what the Winter window is for.

        Transfers in:
CAM Petteri Forsell (22 y/o, 67) from Dallas for 750.000

        Transfers out:
RB Stephen Purches (33, 58) sold for 25.000 (yes, twenty five thousand!)
RM Wes Fodgen (25, 63) sold for 210.000
ST Wes Thomas (26, 65) sold for 450.000
RM Mouhamed Coulibaly (25, 59) full season loan to Bradford
ST Jayden Stockley (19, 56) full season loan to Morecambe

I had already loaned out Jayden Stockley before Valenciennes came knocking for Wes Thomas with 450.000 when he´s worth 325.000. Couldn´t turn that down for a reserve. Oh well, if one of my 2 strikers gets injured at least I can recall Stockley from loan. I only loaned out Coulibaly because he had "just joined" and I really didn´t need him as my other wide midfielders
are both younger and better, so yeah

Im 5th In the league with 15 points from 9 games after an abysmal 1-3-2 start to the season. I really need a first team CDM soon though, my current pairing are just done feel enough when compared to the midfield in the teams iv´e faced in the championship.

Here´s my starting XI and important subs:

        GK Ryan Alsop (21, 62)
        RB Simon Francis (28, 64)
        CB Miles Addison (24, 67)
        CB Steve Cook (22, 66)
        LB Charlie Daniels (27, 65)
        CDM Shaun McDonald (25, 65)
        CDM Eunan O´Kane (23, 65)
        RAM Ryan Fraser (19, 67) / Matt Ritchie (24, 69)
        CAM Petteri Forsell (22, 67)
        LAM Marc Pugh (26, 69)
        ST Brett Pitman (25, 68)

        Important Subs:
        GK Shwan Jalal (30, 63)
        CB Tommy Elphick (26, 66)
        CB Elliott Ward (28, 66)
        LB Ian Harte (36, 65)
        CDM Joe Partington (23, 62)
        LM Donal McDermott (23, 65)
        CM Harry Arter (23, 65)
        ST Lewis Grabban (25, 64)

It turns out that my 16 year old youth GK, Jonathan Butterfield, really is the real deal with 60-72 Overall and 84-94 Potential

That keeper sounds like a stud.

Try and make it to the May 1st progress before promoting him.

He'll fit into your starting 11 nicely then

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

Started with Everton due to its European aspirations, rockin' kit and challenging aspects (returning loans at the end of season, small budget for a big team). Looking at the team, I quickly nabbed both Lukaku and Insigne on loan, as I felt I didn't possess nearly enough attacking threat. My center-backs were aging, so I bought Sakho, and I also got Zuculini for a very cheap deal, which turned out to be a really good buy on my part. I sold Jelavic, Vellios and Fellani, and offloaded Francisco Junior on loan.

Playing a standard 4-2-3-1 formation, my team up until January looked a little like this.

              GK: Howard
              RB: Coleman
              CB: Sakho
              CB: Jagielka
              LB: Baines
              CM: Zuculini
              CM: Barkley
              RM: Mirallas
              LM: Deulofeu
              CAM: Insigne
              ST: Lukaku

I was finding it to difficult to score (I played on Legendary, 5 mins each half). Many games I played in were 1-0, 2-0 or 0-0, but I didn't concede many goals leading to enter January in 4th. My back up striker was doing well (Kone), but he was aging.

The January transfer window was awesome for me. I offloaded Mirallas for 16m and Distin, Heitinga and Gibson as well. I also got rid of Howard due to his age and bought Butland. I then proceeded to buy Varane for 16m to replace an aging Jagielka, who would then be used as a sub. I bought Bakkali for 6.5m and I was looking good.

From January to the end of the season it was really topsy-turvy. I had an 8-game winning streak where I reached the summit of the league, before having a disappointing 5 games without a win, drawing 2 and losing 3. With two games to go, I was in 5th and needed to win away to Chelsea and at home to United. I won amazingly 4-1 against Chelsea, before winning 2-0 against United to clinch 3rd place and an automatic spot in the Champions League. For my efforts, the board managed to give me a measly 11m to work with.

(Forgot to mention, I crashed out of both cups early, losing 1-0 to Newcastle and Manchester City respectively).

The summer transfer window was swamped with deals on my part. I bought Insigne for good for a stunning 4m, and bought Lukaku for a stunning 6m. I also bought Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for a decent 1m (he was in poor form at the time). I then sold Duffy who was dead weight. I ran out of money for a deal with Ince. I also bought Afobe on loan from Arsenal.

Sadly, both my starting center backs were injured, Varane for 5 months and Sakho for 8 weeks. It was a real blow and I had to resort to Alcaraz and Jagielka with Garbutt as a sub. Butland and Chamberlain weren't growing, which annoyed me. However, I was coasting through the new season with only 1 loss and the majority wins, including some tough games against Tottenham, Chelsea and United. I sadly was knocked out of the League Cup at home to Fulham, but that was the least of my priorities. I was finally finding my shooting form. I also was given a job as manager of Mexico which I took gleefully, winning friendlies 4-0, 4-1 and 4-0 respectively. At the start of the January transfer window, I was 1st and 12 points off second.

I coasted through the Champions League group stage after the disappointment of losing away to Juventus, winning all the remaining games against Celtic, Schalke and Juventus.

I made some interesting deals in the transfer window. I landed Musa, who was a really good buy, and sold Butland for 4m, due to being very stressed with the way he wasn't growing. I then bought Leali, who I hear is a monster in goal after a few years. Coleman went out for a measly sum of 4m, due to his frustration at not getting a good contract, so I went and bought DeSciglio for 8m and Garbutt.

After the January transfer window, I had a disappoting 3 game run where I lost to Arsenal at the Emirates 1-0, lost to Swansea at home 1-0 and drew with Manchester United 1-1. I'm still in 1st, and still 12 points ahead of second.

I was unluckily drawn with Atletico Madrid in the final 16 of the Champions League. Losing the away fixture 1-0, I am yet to play the reverse fixture.

So my Everton team, 1 and a half seasons in (with most players yet to reach full potential):

              GK: Leali (72)
              RB: DeSciglio (78)
              CB: Varane (81)
              CB: Sakho (86)
              LB: Baines (84)
              CM: Zuculini (75)
              CM: Barkley (75)
              RM: Oxlade-Chamberlain (77)
              CAM: Insigne (80)
              LM: Bakkali (80)
              ST: Lukaku (79)

              Subs:
              GK: Joel (71)
              CB: Jagielka (77)
              LB: Oviedo (72)
              CM: Osman (74)
              RM: Naismith (73)
              ST: Afobe (66)
              ST: Musa (76)

              Any thoughts/suggestions/advice?

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

Now that the windows were finalized, I started my career with Bayern Munich.

First season, I won all three major trophies convincingly, defending my treble. I brought in Lewandowski permanently on a bosman in January (just like irl).

In the following summer (2014), I made a lot of moves getting people on loan. I have a very small squad now, and I am kind of worried, as it is late October and Gotze went down with a 7 month injury (fml). My plan is to bring in another midfielder on loan (looking at Gnabry and Januzaj for temporary spots), possibly Draxler, and a good backup (Starke asked to leave).

                  This is my current squad:

                  Starting XI

                  Neuer

                  Lahm - Dante - Boateng - Alaba

                  Schweinsteiger - Muller

                  Robben - Kroos - Ribery

                  Lewandowski

                  Bench:

                  Starke
                  Pizarro
                  Weiser
                  Thiago
                  Rafinha
                  Shaqiri
                  Badstuber

                  Reserves:

                  Van Buyten
                  Gotze (injury)
                  Raeder
                  Hauser (youth prospect)
                  Miller (youth prospect)

as you can see, not much room for losing players. Another injury will be a huge blow to my team, and any red cards my players pick up will also be difficult.

I have a number of prospects in my youth academy right now who could become world beaters. Most of them are 5'7 or 5'8, with the exception of a Dutch CDM (5'10) and a Dutch GK (6'2). I tend not to like the players who are under 5'9, as I feel like they are useless. Can't head the ball nor do they have much strength. So I'm always on the lookout for better players.

                  Will update more later!

                    Team: Orlando City (3 Star)
                    League: MLS (Chili Petrogas)
Difficulty: Goniras Sliders, Legendary, 15 Min Halfs, All Man, No Sim
Objective: Make A Run For The Playoffs
Record: 12/4/3 1st place Apertura winner

Here is a quick backdrop. Added 18 teams from MLS to Chile League, kept Chivas & San Jose in MLS, added Orlando City to Chile.

Added the top Chili teams into the Columbian league, replacing lower level sides to MLS.

Wanted to Create the best set up for the South American Champions Cup and include MLS sides.

3 teams from MLS, 3 from Columbia, 4 from Brasil, 4 from Argentina, 2 from Mexico

                    Apertura First Round Update
                    Home/Away
First Leg: Real Salt Lake 2 - 0 Orlando City
Second Leg: Orlando City 2 - 0 Real Salt Lake

We were able to advance on a 2-2 aggregate score because in South American leagues the higher seeded team gets the tie breaker in the first 2 rounds, only in the finals do you play extra time if needed.

Real Salt Lake very tough team, quickly becoming one of our rivals in our first MLS season. playing them 3 times in 19 games.

                    Apertura Semi Finals
                    Orlando City vs Seattle Sounders
New York Red Bulls vs LA Galaxy

About to start a Career Mode with Newcastle United. Hoping to turn them into one of the best teams in Europe. My first transfer targets are Zakaria Bakkali and Nathaniel Chalobah. Two young players with lots of potential. Bakkali can become a player like Hazard and Chalobah could be like Pogba, I'm hoping.

Anyway, if I don't spend any money in the January transfer window, will the money I didn't spend carry over to the next transfer window and add on to the money I was already gonna get?

                          RM: Oxlade-Chamberlain (77)
                          CAM: Insigne (80)
                          LM: Bakkali (80)
                          ST: Lukaku (79)

                          Subs:
                          GK: Joel (71)
                          CB: Jagielka (77)
                          LB: Oviedo (72)
                          CM: Osman (74)
                          RM: Naismith (73)
                          ST: Afobe (66)
                          ST: Musa (76)

                          Any thoughts/suggestions/advice?
My thoughts? I want you to negotiate all my transfers for me!
Insigne, lukaku and oxlade-chamberlain for a combined 11m.

If I was those teams, I woulda laughed at the offers haha

Pretty sure he said he signed them on loan but then again I'm only on level 3 proficiency for reading.

Just hit a major roadblock in my Bournemouth career. 15 games in and im somehow in 5th with 27 pts, but my top goalscorer Brett Pitman (with 12 goals in 14 games!) is out for 4 months. According to the calendar, that means he´s out for at least 19 games. Players such as Ryan Fraser, Forsell, Matt Richie and Marc Pugh are constantly finding space to shoot but have only scored a total of 4 goals between them, with my backup ST Lewis Grabban only having scored once from several substitutions. Pitman´s injury could cost me a promotion place, but if my games against the "Big Shots" of the division are anything to learn from, my players would definately benefit from another season of growth.

He did, but then he said in the (following?) summer window he bought Lukaku for 6M, Insigne for 4M and the Ox for 1M. Eagle4, I take my hat off to you sir.
