It looks like you struggled at the start of December, especially in that heavy loss to Forest. It picked up near the end and then January started badly with another loss to Fulham! (bogey team?) and draw to Stoke. Nice hammering of Palace and the struggle against Palace. Spurs looked tough too. Nice capture of Jese on a PreContract!

Some tight draws/wins and then some big wins. Particularly the one against Real! It really gives you a big chance now of progressing! Top of the table is great! Çiftçi has been hitting top form and long may it continue!

Not too bad of a month there. The Leverkusen game looked pretty disapointing from your ennd after that great 2-0 win against Hertha.

Congrats for progressing into the next round of the Pokal by the way! Ibisevic is looking good for you but sadly he leaves the team 'weakened' when he's not playing. Hopefully he can start more often and i hope that you stay at the top of the table for the rest of the season!

What a great unbeaten month! You're doing really well in the Champions League and progressing to the semi finals of the Capital One Cup! You're not in too bad of a position in the league too, with a four point between you and Liverpool.

Nice win against Italy by the way! They're always difficult to play against but you beat them in the end.

Bony's looking pretty good with nine more goals than Danny Ings and he was on great form in the Liverpool and Hull games. I hope that you can climb a few places up the table in preperation for maybe some January signings. Good luck for the rest of the season!

Wow, I feel sorry for your defeat against Nott'm Forest. But it's always difficult having so many games in a short amount of time... At least, now that you're out of the Capital One Cup, your schedule will be a little more spaced out for you to focus on the league, F.A Cup and the Champions League.

The Fulham game really did look like it hurt! After doing so well against Manchester City previously in the month and the losing 3-0 to Fulham is just a kick in the nuts. Luckily, you bounced back in the F.A Cup against Crystal Palace and didn't do too badly against Spurs.

Despite not really having the months you wanted, you did get a nice chunk of points that will be invaluable by the end of the season. Good Luck of the rest of the season!

You've been doing amazing in the Champions League and you got a great win against Real Madrid! Congrats for also being at the top of the table!

Nadir Çiftçi has been a name that I nearly always see when you bring out a new update. He's always getting involved somehow and he's been a massive player for you and your team. I hope you fend of the likes of Bayern Munich and Dortmund to eventually win the title! Good Luck for the rest of the season!

Southampton would mean regular games at St. Mary's plus at least one away trip to Chelsea every season. I'd also be within reasonable distance of London if I want to spend the weekend in the city, and my folks will be moving back to near Aldershot in a few months.

Oakland puts me right next to the Golden State Warriors (get in, Andrew Bogut), and near San Jose (who have an MLS team plus my uncle in Forest Knolls) and San Francisco (who have Rabbit and Fisherman's Wharf).
Wow man! If I were you I'd go to Southampton. They have the football, your family and you'll be in the UK. If you like London then it's great as well but personally, I don't get the buzz.

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

@Moose - I hate when that happens, losing to a team lower part in the league. Might be just me, but it happens to me often. Getting rid of Amalfitano will be pretty good and I hope you beat Tottenham!

@vrabbit - A pretty solid month, beating Madrid, Villareal and a tie with Arsenal, not bad at all. Any idea who you are going to face in CL next round?

With Dagenham, you did pretty well I think. I mean, your cup performances weren't the greatest (ex. for F.A Cup, what a smashing!), but you played well in the league. The loss against Fulham surprised me at first, but they are pretty high in the league, so I can imagine it was a tough game. Keep it up!

@Chicobass - It wasn't the greatest month, yet it seems the games itself were really fun; 3-3 against Valencia. I say try the diamond instantly, you might like it.

February was a lot better, both the ties against Madrid and Barca, and advancing in Europa. You better beat Spurs!

@Keano - Undefeated month, whoop whoop! Have you secured your CL spot?

Also, you are not doing bad with Ireland at all, hang in there!

@Tex - Well, well, well. If it isn't Pauli at the top of the league! The thing that stood out for me, is that you smashed Real, very well done! (What is up with everybody playing Real Madrid?)

It was a great month alright, December not so much. As it stands Us, Dortmund and PSG can all qualify. It'll be tight. Ireland is going good. Just need to pick up a couple more wins.

                    Birmingham City

Lee Clarke Sacked As Birmingham City Manager
                    Sky Sports, May 15 2014

After keeping the Blues up with a last minute goal from fullback Paul Caddis to keep them safe from relegation, it wasn't enough to keep Lee Clarke's job safe. In a statement on the club's website has made offical that Lee Clarke won't manage Birmingham for the 2014/15 season. The statement also went on to say that after a 10 day review of the season the club felt that he could not lead us to the place we want to be. We wish him the best for future.

The club are too believed to have gone scouting for a new manager around the continent but they say it is far too early to have names, especally with the world cup about to start. We believe an announcement will be made during the World Cup.

Birmingham Sign Seven as the Hunt for a Manager Continues
                    BBC, June 12 2014

Birmingham City have announced the signing of 6 free players and 1 loanee today, with the club announcing it on their website. The following players signed are:

Jonathan Grounds - Oldham Athletic, LB
Stephen Gleeson - MK Dons, CM
Wes Thomas - Rotherham United, ST
Gavin Gunning - Dundee United, CB
                    Mark Duffy - Doncaster, RM
                    Clayton Donaldson - Brentford, ST

Birmingham also have loaned in Grant Hall, a 21 Centre Back from Tottenham for the season.

As far as the hunt is for a new manager, rumours are spreading that they are set to announce it before July. However, the club has kept there hunt for a manager very quite, not giving away anything.

The club also announced the departure of long serving striker Nikola Zigic. The 6'7 striker spent 4 years at Birmingham and the club issued a statement wishing him the best for the future.

                    BREAKING: Birmingham Announce New Manager
                    Sky Sports, June 23 2014

Birmingham City have surprisingly announced their new manager in former Wolverhampton assistant Jake Gaspar. A huge surprise that he become's the Birmingham manager, Gaspar started his trade at Millwall when he came over from his native Australia to England when he was 18 in 1998. He built his way up and by the 2009/10 season became Kenny Jacketts Assistant Manager. Gaspar followed Jackett after he left Millwall to go to Wolverhampton in th 2013/14 season helping them too a record promotion in League 1. We believe that he wanted to excel his career and become a manager of a Football team in the country. We believe there is a press conference being held for Gaspar later today. WE WILL UPDATE!!

*UPDATE*: Here is the script of the Press Conference that just occured about the appointment of Jake Gaspar:

MC: Hello everyone. Today I am happy to announce our new manager. Jake Gaspar.

Gaspar: Thanks all for coming down.

Q: How do you feel becoming a English Football manager?

Gaspar: Ever since I came to England, I dream't of becoming a manager. Today this dream came true. And I want to take this opportunity with both hands.

Q: You have never manager a team like this and are very inexperienced. also a young manager in 35 years old. How will this effect you?

Gaspar: It won't effect me. I'm ready to do this job. I've had extremely good training in this trade with Kenny Jackett showing me it. Kenny has been a role model for me. He was the first to tell me to apply for the Birmingham Job. And when I found out that I hade become manager I rang him. He sounded the happiest I've ever seen.

Q: What are your team and personal goals?

Gaspar: I get the boards objectives for this season in a few days and I'll go from there. As for personal goals, I've achieved a massive one today in becoming manager of this team. I'm happy with that for the moment.

Q: The club has already signed 7 players, what do you think of these players and will you be buying many players? Also the players leaving?

Gaspar: The players bought in are real class. I've seen them play and do very well. I see the team for the first time tomorrow and will slowly designing my ideal starting 11. As for buying players I'll get my budget at the same time as my objectives. So I'll see what I can do from there. And as with players leaving I have heard nothing on any players departing so far.

Gaspar: I know it is short but I need to go. Thankyou all for coming, hope to see you soon.

                    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So I'm doing Birmingham City. Very excited and hope you guys will enjoy.

                    Thankyou

Thanks, everyone! I have a few months left on my current job, and then it will be at least six months until I can move out of the country due to other obligations, so I have until around July or August to decide. I am leaning towards Oakland simply because I've never lived in Cali and the experience sounds fun.

@JAGGER I'm not Aussie, but my mum is Maori from NZ and raised in Canberra because of my granddad being a diplomat. As a result I have a lot of respect for the country's athletes and Australians in general. Of course, my heart still belongs to the All Blacks in that part of the world!

                                Match 15
                                Swansea 0-3 Newcastle

                                Ilicic 16'
                                Ilicic 60'
                                Gouffran 83'

                                MotM: Josip Ilicic

Ilicic headed in a rebound from Sissoko's shot on 16 minutes to give Newcastle the lead. Cabella then smashed a penalty off the crossbar followed by the post and then Fabianski's head in a comical incident. Krul was forced into a save by Anderson and Shelvey hit the woodwork to end the half. Ilicic got a second drifting in between Koulibaly and Zouma to get on the end of Chadli's ball in behind before finishing with his first touch. Gouffran was left completely unmarked to head in a Cabella free kick on 83 minutes ending the game in humiliating fashion for the Swans.

                                Witsel 7'
                                Matuidi 10'
                                Lavezzi 45'
                                Lucas 63'
                                Bony 90' (Ings)

                                MotM: Lucas

Knowing that a draw would be enough to seal his team's spot at the top of the group Hayes made sure his side was set up to keep a clean sheet. He also wanted to get at least a point following the horrific defeat to Newcastle earlier in the week. That unravelled quickly when Witsel headed a cross from Lucas narrowly in after climbing above Reid. Matuidi then added a second 3 minutes later getting the ball on the edge of the area where Reid and Amat gave him way too much room to pick his spot and finish. A long range effort on halftime from Lavezzi all but sealed the game for Swansea. Lucas cut inside to make it 4 for PSG smashing past Scuffet at his near post. Ings somehow managed to hit the crossbar with a rebound from his first shot that was saved by Sirigu. It pretty much summed up our dismal form in front of goal. Bony eventually got one in the net for us with the last kick of the game. He sped past Luiz and placed it around Sirigu. The game was more balanced in terms of shots than the scoreline suggested. We just couldn't hit the net much like the last game against Newcastle. In a dramatic turn of events Anderlecht earned their first point of the group stage against heavily fancied Dortmund managing a 1-1 draw in Germany. This draw meant even though we were hammered by PSG we progressed to the Last 16 finishing 2nd of goal difference to PSG themselves. It was announced that Bayern Munich are our opponents. We earned a massive £10 million for qualifying doubling our transfer budget going into the January window.

                                Match 16
                                Swansea 0-1 Manchester United

                                Hernandez 57'

                                MotM: Igor Akinfeev

A close range 57' header from the Mexican Hernandez was enough to take all 3 points for the visitors. The first half was all United. Di Maria and Hernandez both missed glorious, early chances before Hernandez forced a wonderful save from Simone Scuffet. The resulting corner fell to Rooney on the edge of the area and Scuffet did enough to tip his shot onto the post. The decisive moment came in the 57th minute. The Argentine Di Maria broke through the defence on the left hand side of the box and holding off the challenges of Amat and Reid he chipped the ball across to Hernandez. He out jumped Bernat in the air and headed comfortably past the Italian Scuffet. A late resurgence produced little more than a wasted opportunity by Berahino and a good save by Akinfeev denying Cañas. Going to the Eithad in 3 days we need to get firing up front.

                                Match 17
                                Manchester City 3-0 Swansea

                                Cavani 33'
                                Cavani 43'
                                Cavani 75'

                                MotM: Edinson Cavani

Facing both Manchester clubs in the space of 4 days is never nice but that's what we had to deal with this month. A 4-2-3-1 was trialed as a result of our recent troubles in creating and converting chances. It was City who created all the chances and the leagues top scorer, Edinson Cavani, was there to finish them off. On the back of his hat trick City marched to an easy victory. Wilfried Bony and Sigurdsson both missed clear cut chances early on and that is an example of where we are at the moment. Cavani scored his first with a header in off the underside of the crossbar just after the hour mark. His second displayed his quick feet when he turned inside Amat and slotted past Scuffet before he had even dived. Stambouli blazed a shot wide and then Cavani put the icing on the cake for the Citizens when he followed up the rebound to his own shot off the crossbar. He managed to get there ahead of Clyne to poke it in. Things don't look to be getting any better.

                                Swansea 0-3 Arsenal

                                Sanogo 54'
                                Wilshere 89'
                                Ox-Chamberlain 90'

                                MotM: Jack Wilshere

Another dreadful defeat. This time at the hands of Arsenal. Campbell, Sanogo and Sanchez all had chances before Sanogo eventually put the ball into the net after hitting the crossbar with a header 2 minutes before hand. Wilshere played it into him and he put it into the top right corner to start the scoring. After Hayes went all out attack to try and get an equalizer Arsenal came up with 2 more goals in the last minutes. First it was Wilshere driving through the defence before finishing with his left foot. Then it was Ox-JoChamberlain being found by Giroud and curling around Scuffet. This is our 5th consecutive defeat in all competitions and we have only managed 1 goal while conceding a worrying 14. What suddenly has gone wrong? Hayes must be wondering that very question.

                                Match 19
                                West Brom 2-1 Swansea

                                Yacob 16'
                                Mulumbu 19'
                                Bony 47' (Sigurdsson)

                                MotM: Stefan Johansen

A dreadful way to end a dreadful month where we didn't win a single game. The defence allowed 2 goals inside the first 20 minutes and that's what killed us. Vako had his shot blocked by Amat but it rolled to the left and into Yacob's path. All he had to do was pass it into the net as Scuffet wasn't set. 3 minutes later Mulumbu got on the score sheet. Vako chipped it over Reid and Mulumbu controlled it on his chest before firing low past Scuffet. Bony missed a bicycle kick before coming out in the second half and getting a goal. (Our 2nd this month) He danced inside Zambrano and avoided Dawson's challenge inside the box before slotting home. We pushed for the equalizer with chances from Reid and 2 from Bony. Our terrible luck in front of the posts continued however and we slumped to a 6th defeat in a row. Hayes can all but hope that this form doesn't continue next month.
