May 2017
Hertha BSC 2 - 0 FC Augsburg
Arnold 31', Son 45'
Hertha Berlin have secured the Bundesliga title! This routine win against Augsburg was enough to keep the four-point lead intact with just one game left to play which means that the Berliners will lift their second Bundesliga trophy in a row. The game started off well for Hertha who attacked well and they got the lead half an hour into the game Heung-Min Son hit the post from three yards out and the ball bounced to Maximilian Arnold who shot it into the bottom right corner to score the title winning goal. Fifteen minutes later in stoppage time the Korean forward got one himself by cutting in from the left wing and curling the ball into the bottom right corner. The second half was pretty dull and nothing worth mentioning happened in it.
SC Freiburg 1 - 2 Hertha BSC
Hoffer 55'
Calhanoglu 80', Kalou 88'
The last league game of the season saw Hertha BSC beat a bottom three side Freiburg in a tough match. The home side even got the lead in the beginning of the second half when Hoffer slotted the ball past Benaglio. The lead lasted until the 80th minute when Hakan Calhanoglu equalised the game with a clical shot into the bottom left corner. Eight minutes later Salomon Kalou got the winner from a counter attack to make sure that his side finish the league season on a high note.
Final
FC Köln - Hertha BSC
Hertha BSC had reached the final of the Deutscher Fussball-Bund for the third consecutive time. Meanwhile their opponent FC Köln, who just got relegated, were going to play their first cup final since 1991. The venue was the majestic Olympiastadion in Berlin, just like every time. Some Bundesliga teams like Schalke, Köln and Bayern München wanted to have a different venue but the DFB disagreed with them. Even though Köln were the "home" team it was clear that Hertha had a big advantage.
And the game started with Hertha's kickoff. The Berliners passed the ball around the midfield but they weren't able to find much space in Köln's defence. They had two shots in the first 30 minutes but they weren't good shots at all. The remaining fifteen minutes of the first half were also mainly played in midfield. The second half started off in the same fashion but in the 67th minute Diego Benaglio made a huge mistake. The keeper threw the ball straight to Köln's winger who had an open net in front of him. The winger decided to go for a volley... and the ball went out for a throw in! Hertha started pressurising their opponents more and finally in the 81st minuet Salomon Kalou got played through on goal. The Ivorian took a shot but it went straight at the keeper's legs... but it went in somehow! What a huge mistake by the Köln keeper! The Berliners then just pulled everyone back in defence and they waited for the final whistle. Köln weren't able to get through Hertha's defence and the cup final was over. Hertha secured the domestic double!

The New Clough
SpoilerNovember 2014Spoiler
November 1, Macron Stadium
FL Championship: Match 13
Bolton 0-2 Nott'm Forest
Dicko 9' (Pen) Paterson 45'
MotM: Karl Darlow (NFO, 8.6)
It was a very tight game today at the Macron. The penalty was fairly harsh on McNaughton and then Lonergan was unlucky not to save Nouha's (Dicko) effort. That's now his 7th league goal of the season. Paterson, who won the penalty and had a great game, headed in a wonderful corner delivery from Danilo (Cataldi) to send us in at the break 2-0 up. That's what we kept it at and Karl (Darlow) was immense in goal today.
Jay Spearing will be out for 3 weeks with a hyper extended knee.
November 8, City Ground
FL Championship: Match 14
Nott'm Forest 1-1 Derby County
Dicko 40'
Martin 58'
MotM: Nouha Dicko (NFO, 7.8)
Man this was a special game. It was my first East Midlands Derby and boy was it tight. McClaren's lads may have been languishing around 15th and 16th but they showed no signs of that today. Dicko netted his 8th goal stealing the ball off Keogh and sprinting clear on goal. Grant did well to save his first shot but the Malian couldn't miss when it came back to him. Scot Chris Martin equalized after former Chelsea youth Michael Mancienne gave the ball away. We had some chances near the end to snatch the three points but we were unable to take them. Tesche didn't do too badly when he came on after asking for more game time.
November 11, Vicarage Road
FL Championship: Match 15
Watford 2-1 Nott'm Forest
Fabbrini 5' Iriney 65'
Assombalonga 10'
MotM: Iriney (WAT, 8.7)
A lot of the side was rotated due to fatigue as we traveled to Vicarage Road to come up against a gifted Watford side. The lads played fairly well but we switched off twice and were punished. Lascelles was caught out of position for Fabbrini's goal early on and then Lichaj allowed himself to be dispossessed by Iriney for the winner. Assombalonga netted again today with a very tidy on-the-stretch volley.
November 15, City Ground
FL Championship: Match 16
Nott'm Forest 1-1 Leeds United
Paterson 38'
Antenucci 86' (Pen)
MotM: Michail Antonio (NFO, 8.6)
Complete and utter bollocks of a decision by the ref for the penalty. Replays clearly showed that Jamaal (Lascelles) got the ball, not the man first. The game was extremely hard fought and Paterson scored what should have been the only goal of the game tapping in off Cohen's saved shot.
November 22, Cardiff City Stadium
FL Championship: Match 17
Cardiff City 1-2 Nott'm Forest
Assombalonga 13' Paterson 35:
Adeyemi 86'
MotM: Nathaniel Chalobah
We bossed possession as usual against a quite talented Cardiff side. MOTM Chalobah was solid in breaking up play in front of our defence but he also provided the pass for Assombalonga's goal. In from Jamie Paterson made it 2-0 after managing to win the ball in Cardiff's area and dribble past three defenders before slotting home. Adeyemi got a slice of luck late on when his shot came back to him after hitting the post.
November 29, City Ground
FL Championship: Match 18
Nott'm Forest 3-1 Brentford
Assombalonga 16' 57' Wilson 90'
Hogan 45'
MotM: Jack Hunt (NFO, 8.5)
Brentford showed exactly why they are bottom of the league with an obvious lack of quality in the squad. Assombalonga bagged a brace in another fine performance. Both goals had him powering through the defence before showing a finisher's touch. Hogan headed in just before halftime after some really poor marking. Robert Tesche and Kelvin Wilson both had really good games when they stepped in for Cataldi and Lascelles. The German picked up two assists and earned an 8.5 rating. Wilson also earned the same rating and headed in Tesche's corner in the last minute to cap off a fine performance.
Player of the Month
Jamie Paterson
The young English winger excelled this month grabbing there goals from the left side of midfield. He has grown extremely well and we hope that he can continue to do so as he is only 23 years of age.

Manager Thoughts
It wasn't a bad month at all. We aimed for 12 points and we achieved 11 which is great. That allowed us to climb back into the playoff spaces in 5th. We had good wins against Bolton, Cardiff and Brentford along with a solid draw in the East Midlands derby against Derby. I would have liked to have beaten Leeds but oh well. Watford although they are only 10th are a solid squad and I think that they cane no doubt challenge for the playoffs after Christmas. Derby are also having a surprising struggle, with the talent they have, in 14th. They did however sell Will Hughs to PSG for £5.500.000. Shocking!
December Games
6/12 Sheffield Wednesday (a)
13/12 Bournemouth (h)
20/12 Charlton (a)
23/12 Blackburn (h)
27/12 Reading (a)
Having not lost at home yet we are looking to take the six available points on home turf. We are also going to look for seven points from the three away games with the draw at Reading being acceptable. So in total that's 13/15 points.
Thanks for Reading and I hope you enjoyed it!

So, gonna be completely honest, I got the scorers again due to the pictures I took, but I was drunk when I played this game, so I don't remember much. My bad, hopefully won't happen again.
Premier League
Matchday 4
Burnley 1-1 Crystal Palace
15' Puncheon
75' Bishop
MOTM: Kieran Trippier
Number of starting English players: 9
So, our first league game didn't really go our way, as Crystal took the lead early, with Puncheon winning the ball in the box and slotting past the keeper. Yet Teddy Bishop scored his first goal for us, as he got the ball from the midfield, ran with it, held his own, and tied the game up. Luckily, we didn't lose too many points.
Premier League
Matchday 5
Sunderland 2-2 Burnley
20' Ings (PEN)
32' Fletcher (Larsson)
49' Fletcher
58' Jutkiewicz
MOTM: Michael Keane
Amount of starting English players: 9
Ings gave us the lead early, as we earned a penalty. O'Shea hit Jutkiewicz straight in the face and he dropped like a log. However, our own defensive mistakes gave Fletcher a easy chance to score, as he went 1-on-1 with the keeper and put it in. Fletcher did score another, as he won the ball from Bishop, got past our defense and shot it straight past Heaton to the top corner. Jutkiewicz was the man with the last laugh though, as he won the ball in the box after a sloppy clearance from a corner. He nutmegged the keeper and saved us another point.

32' Modric (Milner)

72' Bony (Modric)
MOTM: Marvin Sordell
Number of starting English players: 5
This is what I call bull. Since it is the COC, I decided to rest the main players and let our youngsters play. Yet City had another idea, as Modric made his debut for the club against us. We got hammere, no chance at all. The first two goals were both headers and Modric scored his own, a beautiful volley outside the box. Sordell did get to score one, as he managed to somehow get to the box and take a shot, which was poorly saved by Caballero. Still, Bony finished with a hat-trick, as another hit the net. We are out of the cup just like that, and I can't even be mad, losing to a team like that.
Premier League
Matchday 6
Burnley 2-3 West Brom
10' Yacob (Sessegnon)
20' Ings (Jutkiewicz)
42' Anichebe (Fletcher)
45' Ings (Jutkiewicz)
84' Ideye (Brunt)
MOTM: Danny Ings
Amount of starting English players: 9
Last game of the month did not start well, as Yacob somehow walked through our defense and put it past Heaton with ease. Yet Ings was on the case, as a good pass by Lukas got him behind the defense, where he shot it off the postand in. Anichebe answered back with a cannon-like shot, right to the top corner. Yet Ings was determined to do the same, as his shot to the bottom corner was also strongly struck first time. Yet West Brom got the last laugh, as from a free-kick right outside our box, Brunt got the ball, passed it to Ideye and he scored. A tough way to end the month and lose 3 points.
League Table
My Thoughts
Right, more of a Burnley style of month, here are a few talking points though.
COC Cheese - I mean, really, playing your first team in the Capital One Cup, cmon City, what are you thinking? I guess Pellegrini really wants that title. Oh well, we are out of that race.
Injuries - We have had an injury in almost every game this month. Few of those are on our starting players.
Matt Taylor, our starting CM, got injured in training before the Burton Albion game, as he suffered a ACL tear and will be out for another 5 months
Henri Lansbury, another one of our starting CMs, got injured in the Burton Albion game, as he tore his calf muscle and he will be out for another 6 weeks.
Mason Bennett managed to sprain his ankle in the Man City game, and he will be out for another 2 weeks.
Teddy Bishop hyper extended his knee in the Sunderland game, however, he has made some good recovery so he will be back in 4 days, missing the first game of the month.
Jason Shackell will also miss the first game of the month, as he bruised his elbow in the West Brom game.
Next Month - Next month starts us off with a game against Leicester City, then we go home to face both West Ham and Everton. I have no idea how these games will play out, but hopefully, we can bounce back from the injuries and perform.
I hope you enjoyed this post, please, if you have any feedback, do let me know!I won't lie, that month was terrible compared to August. Draws against middle table teams everywhere and after that you got destroyed by City. I'm surprised that you're still in the top four. Terrible luck with all those injuries!

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Pretty good month there. The dropped points against Derby, Watford and Leeds would've been very important but we are talking about some good teams so it's not that important. You're still in a very good position and with some good results you could reach the top two. Paterson was good this month.
Congrats on the league and cup double. Good to see Kalou remain as the league's top scorer and get in the assists leaderboard too. I look forward to seeing if you can win the Champions League in your last season with the club. Will you start a new career or just move to a different club?Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Cruzerr: A lot of draws this month which I suppose is more like Burnley in real life. I'm surprised that you are still third but that just shows how good a start you had. Look like you had an awful lot of injuries this month too which is always tough.
Cruzerr & Regens: Liverpool & Everton? United and City? Barca and Real?
Blue Eagle: Nice couple of transfers and you have a good team there. Always some improvements to be made but that squad is well capable of achieving those objectives.
Chico: Now there's a proper budget! Looking forward to seeing how Campana does for you as Camarasa's replacement. You had a solid preseason. Unlucky to see your youth keeper leave in 2 on his debut though.
Jamie: Solid month and Pritchard was good again. Good to see you climb up to 3rd.Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Simp put out some really nice ones with Bilbao/Sociedad, Getafe and Rayo Vallecano, Marseille and Lyon, Porto and Benfica, Roma and Lazio, Newcastle and Sunderland, or BVB and Schalke. Anyone of those would be very good. Also I like Keano's Liverpool and Everton, we don't necessarily want huge clubs I don't think, but good sized clubs like these. Obviously they aren't all the same in quality, but it gives you some options.
BPL: Newcastle/Sunderland, Liverpool/Everton.
BBVA: Bilbao/Sociedad, Getafe/Rayo V.
Ligue 1: Marseille/Lyon
Serie A:Roma/Lazio
Bundesliga: BVB/Schalke
Primeira Liga (Portugal): Porto/Benfica.
Just to split it into leagues.
Rules would be pretty simple, although I'll probably miss some and we can work together to find a complete rule list. Unless you would want to make a super league, with all the good teams combined, and we could even do it in England and make all 4 divisions super leagues. That would be one option, otherwise we could just do the teams in their natural leagues.
I don't know how we would want to do posting, if we would want to wait for each other so that for every month one of us posts an update, the other posts one themselves before the other person goes on to post another update. I think if one of us buys a player, the other shouldn't buy him, just for the rivalry sense to continue. There aren't really rules set in stone, I guess we would pretty much make them up as we go, unless you can think of some?Last edited by Regens4Life; 05-06-2015, 10:56 AM.Comment

Alright lmao. I'd be alright with both, but I guess I'll pick BVB because of kits, money and the stadium/fans dynamic, I think the BVB fans are great. What currency do you want to use? And do you want to just not have Euro competition first season?Comment

Both teams have a few chances in the early stages before Harry Novillo shows some great close control to get past two Gazélec defenders before finishing past Clément Maury. Lucas Libbra chests the ball down into the box before attempting to shoot but the leg of Clermont defender, Jacques Salze becomes tangled in his and Lucas goes down. The referee gives a penalty which Ali M’Madi finishes into the top corner for the equaliser. John Tshibumbu had a good chance to put Gaz in the lead but the opposition keeper, Franck L’Hostis made a great save to deny him.

GFC Ajaccio 3 – Stade Lavallois 3GFC – Tshibumbu 32’ 78’, M’Madi 45’ (PEN)STA – Guerriero 31’ 35’, Alla 49’
Modibo Dembélé crunches into his own player before catching Tshibumbu in the box which stops the play and another penalty is given for Gazélec. M’Madi takes the penalty and blasts it down the middle. He gets too much power on it and it smacks of the crossbar. M’Madi has another chance but loses his footing before the ball gets cleared away. Lavallois seize their opportunity as Ludovic Guerriero manages to hit the ball first time into the back of the net. Maury’s positioning was awful and the shot was pretty much aimed at the middle of the goal; Bee will not be pleased with his keeper but his disappointment might not last for long because one minute later, M’Madi squares the ball to Tshibumbu at the back post who can easily guide the ball into the net for the equaliser. Only three minutes after the equaliser, Lavallois find themselves back in front as the ball is cut back to Ludovic Guerriero who hits the ball from the top of the area to see the ball clip the post before crossing the line. John Tshibumbu sprints into the box before the foot of Selim Ben Djemia makes contact with his ankle and he goes down. M’Madi doesn’t need to be told twice and he buries the ball into the top right corner to level things up to two-two at the break. Lavallois pass the ball on the edge of Gazélec’s penalty area for a while until Hassane Alla fires with his weaker left foot out of nowhere. The ball clips the underside of the crossbar before going in, in the forty-ninth minute of the game. Gazélec leave it only twelve minutes before full-time to get the equaliser they needed. John Tshibumbu is played through by M’Madi and he’s able to smash the ball and beat the keeper at his near post from a very tight angle.

Lucas Libbra manages to skip past a challenge before sliding the ball into John Tshibumbu who cuts inside to avoid a sliding tackle before sending his finesse shot into the bottom right corner for the early lead but it isn’t there for long as a piece of poor defending by Julien François allows Jonathan Lacourt to bend the ball with his weaker left foot into the bottom corner. Olympique then go in front sixteen minutes later as a ball over the top finds Anthony Koura who chests the ball down before guiding it past Maury and into the back of the net. Gazélec level it to two-two in the thirty-first minute as M’Madi uses his pace to get through on goal and slip it underneath the keeper. To mark and awful defensive half, NenadKovačević runs to the near post where Clément Maury makes an absolute dog’s dinner of his punch away and he totally misses it. Kovačević gets his head to it and it’s now three-two with five more minutes until half-time! One minute after the break, Tshibumbu sprints down the right wing and delivers a low cross which M’Madi and shovel it into the back of the net from. And once again, M’Madi comes to the rescue to snatch all the three points as Grégory Pujol shows great strength on the edge of the box to cut the ball into the middle where M’Madi can smash it first time past the keeper and it budges the back of the net for a four-three lead. Nîmes Olympique start the game off and charges forward and steals the ball near-instantly. He manages to get to the ball first and touch it past the last defender before lifting the ball over the keeper at his feet and into the back of the net for his first goal for the club.

Managers Thoughts:
Wow, I’m doing much better than I originally thought I would do but I’m having a great time at the club and it’s a breath of fresh air to play in the French League.
Grégory Pujol has come back from his injury and he managed to get a well deserved goal this month. He’s undoubtedly not going to get much time with John Tshibumbu and M’Madi being able to play throughout the whole game due to their great stamina.
Fourth! I’m teetering on the edge of automatic promotion and hopefully the team can pull themselves together and move forward into the places above. Angers have been doing extremely well due to having Jonathan Kodjia who’s been on fire and he’s even got a goal against us (even though that’s pretty easy at the moment).
On the topic of conceding too many goals; I have chosen to change my sliders. Originally, I had the OS sliders but I didn’t feel they suited me and I think they’re next gen anyway. So I’ve chosen Angelacos’ slider set which Keano introduced me to. (Thanks Keano!) I’ve tested this slider set and I’m loving it! It’s scarily familiar to real life football (In my head anyway) and I’m all up for that.
Next month is looking quite busy. At least the French league is more organised than the English leagues because I have a week between each game which is played on a Friday. The only disruption is in the Coupe de Ligue at the end of the season where I face a strong Ligue 1 Marseille who won’t go down without a fight.

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Euros would be nice, and I was also thinking that not having the Euro competition for the first season is pretty good.
I was also thinking on some transfer rules:
1. You can't buy players or sell players to the rival team (makes sense, just wanted to point it out).
2. You can't buy the same players that the other team buys. So if you buy a player, then I can't buy him. Now, obviously, this is a bit difficult to manage, however, I thought of a thing called "Transfer Priority" - basically, since July and August are the first months where you can do transfers, one of us gets to post first. If you post first, you also post your transfers, so I can see who you went for. Then, I get to make my transfers, but I can't sign any of the players you did.
Now, when January comes, I get the priority this time, meaning that I can sign players first, and then you have to sign players and make sure that you don't sign the same ones.
I think that would make things a bit more interesting. Are there any more rules you want to add?Comment

I love the priority idea. Also, to add to that, if I have summer priority this year, you get it next year, and we switch off every season just like that. Euros sound good. I'm ready to start if you are, also, if we both feel the need to add rules while we are going through, I think we could do that if we both approve of the rule.Comment
