To be fair "Pompey Chimes" is one of the oldest chants to never go out of use, originating in the late 1800's. So at least there is a lot of history behind the chant. Of course, it could just be because the Portsmouth fan they dedicated adding the stadium to just wanted it added in the past and they did it. If that's the case then yeah, that's unfortunate that they ignore others. If they added for the sake of it being one of the oldest chants in football, then that is at least somewhat defensible.

But there is no doubt that EA has an English bias regardless of the reason.

I decided to pick a club with a strong core: solid central defender, midfield general, and game-changing forward. These would be the three players I'd keep at the club for as long as possible and build around. My other criteria were a relatively healthy budget to make immediate improvements and good kits. So far, I've shortlisted three clubs that strike me as attractive options.

West Ham played a huge role in the 1966 England squad, so you have to respect them despite your club allegiance if you're English. Their academy has produced Joe Cole, Rio Ferdinand and Frank Lampard. A strong spine of Winston Reid, Andy Carroll and Mark Noble seems great to build on.

Crystal Palace have the potential to explode because they play in one of Europe's biggest cities. They have some solid lads in Mile Jedinak and Scott Dann, but the icing on the cake is Yannick Bolasie with his blend of power and pace. The starting budget is not too shabby, either.

Burnley deserve their reputation as a community club. The team is below average by Premier League standards, but Danny Ings is a talisman to build around, while Jason Shackell and Nathaniel Chalobah lead defence and midfield. This career would be similar to what Swansea have done.

As an aside, does anyone else find the gameplay during career mode in the Spanish/German/Italian leagues? I find the game especially slow and heavy in Italy. I understand the slower pace of the game because Italian football is slow, but there's no reason for players to feel like lead. Even in my few games with Koln, it always felt like the players simply didn't feel like pro footballers. It might just be my imagination, but it's a barrier between me and a career outside of England.

I like Crystal Palace. I feel like they have a good squad to build around, and a solid core that you can hold in place as well.

I wasn't aware of that, thanks. That justifies it being in the game in my opinion but it still doesn't justify many good non-English teams missing chants.

          Agreed 100%

I wish they would try to add presentation for a new league each year like they did with EPL for FIFA 15. Imagine if on top of their EPL presentation they added La Liga for 16? And then continued to build on that going forward.

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

Hey guys, I'm new to OS. I signed up after reading hundreds of pages of this thread over a couple of weeks. Needless to say, the experience was pretty intense and swayed my mind to start posting.

A little bit about me. I'm 26 and live in India, where I work in advertising. I also spent 15 of the first 18 years of my life in New Jersey. I grew up with the sports popular in America, but I also watched every World Cup from 1998 with my African and Latino friends. I only got into club football after moving to India because the time difference made it easier to watch games in Europe.

I've supported Chelsea ever since I watched them play Liverpool in 2007. Since then, I've tried to learn as much as I could about the game. It's got to a point where I now eat, sleep and breathe football. That helps because aside from my advertising career, I'm working on my coaching badges under the AIFF. I've always been a fast learner, and I like to think of myself as somewhat of a tactical connoisseur.

Many of my friends are nuts about Ultimate Team only, so it's great to find a community of people who have the same kind of interest as me. I've done two careers in FIFA 15 so far. The first lasted six years with Chelsea, which is always my first save. I won the PL five times, plus three Champions League and three FA Cup titles. My second career was at Lyon. I turned them into a world-class team again and won three league titles in five years, but I only managed one Europa League trophy and two Champions League finals.

Now I want to do a career with a club that's not as big as either of those, but not as small as say Bolton (no offense to any fans). I was thinking of maybe West Ham, but Indiblue seems to have beat me to that so I'll wait to see if he picks them. I also like Palermo because I think the pink kits are sweet, but they need a lot of rebuilding and I want to keep Dybala. Might be able to work some magic at Sampdoria or Atalanta as well. Spain seems really unbalanced and I'm not too familiar with many German teams, so if anyone has suggestions there, please shoot.

2 wins from 3 was more than I hoped for if I'm being honest. The Hamburg game was a 7 goal thriller that look set for a draw which neither team could have complained about but then a Djourou own goal in the last minute gave us all 3 points. The M'gladbach game was tough, a real sloppy game which we probably got lucky in after Gladbach hit the woodwork several times but we came through with another 3 points and condemned Gladbach to the bottom 3.

Everything that could go wrong in this month went wrong. Some disgraceful refereeing against Frankfurt and Stuggart meant that we were playing 11 vs 12 for most of the game. I felt that we deserved at least a draw against Frankfurt and 3 points against Stuggart but we had no luck. However, we did manage to get through to the Quarter Finals of the Deutscher Pokal and now have Freiburg to play which gives us a good chance to get into the semi finals.
I have decided to loan thr youngsters out and focus mainly on the cup as it seems like our best option into Europe at the moment especially looking at the form we are in.

We have dropped down to 11th after a run of 4 straight defeats. Now 7 points of that europa league spot it looks as if it is fading away especially looking at out upcoming fixtures as well.

That would be amazing! In a few years we would have an amazing football game (at least when it comes to licensing, that is). Then EA would just need to get the CL, EL, Copa Libertadores etc. licenses and after that they could start adding other interesting leagues like the Chinese one.

It's looking like the Bundesliga is going to get licensed. In EA's gameplay trailer you can see that a game between Dortmund and another team, maybe Mönchengladbach, I don't remember, has the official BuLi scoreboard. Maybe EA really are getting big league licenses every year.

It sounds amazing that you're getting a coaching badge! Maybe one day a big team will appoint a guy from Jersey who lived in India as their coach

You really should start following German football. The Bundesliga is the best European league and the most competitive one. The fans are also amazing. If you want to stay away from Germany, I'd suggest Palermo, Sassuolo, Sampdoria, Malaga and Rayo Vallecano. They are all interesting teams.

Welcome! Always great when we get new faces around here. Hopefully you will stick around and become part of the community. In just over a month this thread should really pick up more when 16 comes out. I hope you find a nice club to start your new career with. Simppu offered some good suggestions, and I hope you find one that you really get behind and enjoy.

If Bundesliga is next then that would be a good choice as well. La Liga would have been the most obvious one, but I'm sure the licensing costs are vastly different from one to the other. Hopefully they are implementing some detail into the German leagues this year though, if it is just a scoreboard then that would be hugely disappointing, but I wouldn't doubt EA trying to sell that off as an improvement.

Thanks, Simppu. I've been wanting to follow the German league for some time now. I'm aware of the outstanding talents and young prospects in the Bundesliga, but not really about the teams and how they play. That's aside from the big guns like Bayern and Dortmund, of course. One of my coaching classes last month focused on Dortmund's rise from the relegation spots this season, but I realize the need to study the league at a more in-depth level. Many people have told me it's one of the best in terms of quality and tactics.

I'm assistant to the head coach of a college team right now, and one of my jobs is to scout the opposition ahead of games and tournaments. We're one of the few teams that actually studies opponents, so we're off to a great start with five wins out of six in the division we play in.

Rayo also seems like a really interesting option that I might seriously consider.

Thanks, Texasbum. I would really like to get into the community feeling of this thread. It seems like a really open and friendly place when things are in full swing. A lot of you guys seem to bring that something extra to the table when you post your updates, and I would love to try my hand at that as well. Writing is one of my favourite hobbies, and I've been told I have a pretty colourful imagination. I really liked Indiblue's career with Brighton for that element, also the Wimbledon career by Chico Bass. I really like your Portsmouth career so far, though I really only started following it once you made it to the Championship. Are you planning on selling Jamieson IV once the season ends? He seems like he's settled down but I generally don't like players who cause problems.

Thanks! There has been some absolutely amazing careers people have had on this thread over the last couple years. As for Jamieson, he hasn't complained since and he is very happy right now. I still might consider it if I end up winning the promotion playoffs since I'm not sure if he will ever be suited for Premier League quality. He started the season in the Championship off strong, but has disappeared at times down the stretch going on some long scoreless streaks. Moving up in competition again would only increase those problems I think, but he still has the ability so really I would only consider it if I got a good offer to come along for him.

I started a Palace career before I went away but by all means use them if you wish to. The squads will be different, I think, and so will the results/squad bundling. It might be fun to have someone alongside me to compare against.

West Ham is my vote though! They're in London and have solid enough squad to challenge for a Europa League spot in season 1.

Random observation and I wanted to know if anyone noticed anything similar.

Anyone think that the AI knows your tendencies when trying to save penalties? I went on a long streak where I never saved one even though I would change up which way I was diving. I then noticed that they went up the middle on like 4 straight attempts over the course of the season and so the last one I had called against me I left my keeper in the middle and sure enough I saved it.

So was the CPU just reading that I always dove and started chipping it up the middle? Or is it just a weird coincidence?

So the league results have still not improved. We tried going back to basics and managed to get 0-0 draws against Bayer Levurkusen & FC Koln which for a team with european aspirations isn't good enough. Dortmund battered us but again an individual mistake by the reliable Scuffet in goal changed the game really. We hit the bar twice but lacked that clinical touch in front of goal.
We did manage to go through to the semi final of the Deutscher Pokal and drew Levurkusen and with Eint.Frankfurt and Erzgebirge Aue as the remaining teams left, we have a real shot a winning the cup. I was pleased that Drmic and Seferovic got debut goals and will be crucial for the rest of the season.

                                Transfers
                                uploadfromtaptalk1438709401465.png

After Real Madrid agreed to pay the £35 million buy out clause in Brandt's contract we had a lot of money to strengthen in the window.
The biggest problem we have had all season is scoring goals so I moved quickly to sign Swiss Internationals Josip Drmic and Haris Seferovic.
We then managed to pick up Julian Draxler for a small fee of £10 mil after he handed in a transfer request at struggling Schalke. The board gave the green light to make him out highest paid player on £70,000 a week which could prove to be a smart move looking at the talent he has.
We then took advantage of Schalke's poor season again picking up Max Meyer for £6.5 mil adding even more quality to our midfield.
There were a couple of departures such as Josh Gatt, Enes Unal and Nicolai Jørgensen with all 3 players failing to make any sort of impact in their time at the club really.

                                New Look Lineup
                                uploadfromtaptalk1438710307235.jpg

We have decided to switch to a 4-2-2-2 in a bid to score more goals and with the partnership of Seferovic and Drmic being bought in we needed a formation to fully utilise them and I feel this is it. With Werner out injured Draxler is now even more important to the team. Kempf has been looking solid in the games he has played and Süle has been a rock all season despite the amount of goals we have conceded. I won't judge this formation until the end of the season but I liked what I saw of it in the cup game against Freiburg.
