How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

To get a little bit back on topic I am announcing that I have started a Leeds United career. The Premier League had a huge makeover in this game but ever since Wimbledon I just haven't been able to return to England. Im hoping to make the jump into the PL before FIFA 16 is released. This career will be just for fun so I will not be posting monthly updates. Even though it's just for fun I will be taking it seriously and purchase players from the UK only, while at the same time avoiding players I had at Wimbledon. Looking at the squad I have a few young players with great potential, but boy we have a lot of Italian players in the squad. There's also a lot of strikers which is not good for me since I prefer playing with only one striker. We're also lacking wide men so yeah I've got a lot of work to do. So far I've only played the preseason matches where I tried out a 5-3-2 and different 4-4-2 formations, but I decided I will play the season opener with a 4-5-1 Flat. In the preseason I used a 4-4-1-1 Attack formation with the B-Team using the Brazilian 19 year old Adryan at CF and after moving him around the pitch it looks like he's gonna be a flop. I went online to read on how he plays IRL and it turns out he actually is a flop with Leeds. Really missing McCormack right now but oh well!

The first choice is Malaga, who have a monstrous midfielder in Camacho to build around. I'll need to buy a striker right away and possibly a CAM as well, because Duda is just way too decrepit to fit into my style of play. I think the budget is around £7.5 million to start with, so I can probably get both if I sell a couple of spare players. The second choice is Getafe. They also need a striker and midfield general, but there's only about £6 million to work with, so I might have to sell one of the better players.

Another place I explored is Germany. Mainz have a really good squad for a club their size. There's not much depth, but they have some really good first team players like Okazaki and Geis, who I think develops into a titan of a midfielder. Hamburg have a strong budget and their actual stadium. I'm not a fan of Lasogga, so he'd be sold in 2015 to pay for a new striker, and van der Vaart would also need to be replaced after a season. The last club I'm looking at there is Werder Bremen. I've never used a team with green kits, plus they have some really quick players in Hajrovic and Di Santo to play a counter-attacking game with.

The last country I checked out was Italy, but I only found one club that really interested me. Sampdoria have great current and classic kits but *******, their squad is all over the place! They have more than a dozen players out on loan and a similar number with the club. But I did read that the president is a crazy guy who wants to build them a new stadium, so that might be fun to include somehow. Eder Martins looks so much better with his post-January update, so he'd be the one I build around. England isn't somewhere I really want to manage right now, but if I do I'll probably go with Middlesbrough.

I see a lot of you guys use Straw Poll for these situations, so go ahead and leave your vote for where you think I should manage. I'll take the results into account when I sit down to start the career tomorrow afternoon.

Welcome to the forum. As many have said, you came to the right place for career mode discussion. I voted for Sampdoria as they seem like a bit of a challenge and we have had a long running Spanish and German career recently, so I wanted to read a bit of a change of league. I look forward to reading your post and seeing how your writing style is.

        RB Leipzig 2016/17
        Season 3

        February 2017
        uploadfromtaptalk1438730419577.png

This was the perfect way for us to bounce back from the slump that we were in. 3 wins from 4 got us back on track with the new signings making an immediate impact. Mastour scored a wonder strike past neuer and was it not for another Scuffet error we would have got the point we deserved but when you hand a team like Bayern an opportunity to score, they make you pay.

        March 2017
        uploadfromtaptalk1438731441761.png

We had a couple of set backs this month, the last minute goal at Hertha & losing to struggling Augsburg but I can't complain about the performance even in the 2-0 defeat, a game in which we hit the woodwork 4 times, it was just one of those games. The new boys continuing their form into March as well which is pleasing from my perspective. Hajrovic & Draxler are running the show in midfield and are nothing chipping in with goals and assists, hopefully they can continue this form until the end of the season.

        League Table
        uploadfromtaptalk1438731662821.png

We currently sit in 10th place, 8 points of the europa league spot. With 6 games remaining It is looking unlikely but the main focus now is on the cup semi final which we have coming up in April. Bor . M'Gladbach have even more troubles now as they have drifted 4 points adrift from safety which is probably the biggest shock of the season. Bayern have run away with it again and should everything go to plan, they should clinch the league in 2 weeks time.

        Upcoming Fixtures
        Bor.M'gladbach (a)
        Hamburg (h)
        Bayer Levurkusen (a) (Cup)
        Kaiserslautern (h)
        Mainz (a)
        Freiburg (h)
        Wolfsburg (a)

Bremen seems to be the team of choice. I can see why since they seem to be minnows, so it'd be really cool to see if I could do something special. And the only successful German career so far has been Simppu at Hertha BSC, so the novelty factor is there. I'm personally leaning a bit towards Malaga because of Camacho and that yellow alternate kit, which is probably my favourite in the entire game. But I do realize that a career with Bremen would give me access to Junuzovic, who I signed for Chelsea in 2018 for £24.3 million. Now if I could get them both in the same midfield, I might be unstoppable wherever I am! I'm going to keep the poll up another day so more people can vote, so let's see.

I'm curious, what your favourite kits in FIFA 15? These are my top five.

            Malaga alternate

            Stoke away

            Bologna away

            Torino classic

            Elche alternate

              Valencia CF

              Transfers Out

              Ruben Vezo
              , season loan to Genoa
Fede Cartabia, season loan to Werder Bremen
              Robert, €1,600,000 to Real Valladolid
              Vinicius Araujo, €1,700,000 to Getafe
Geoffrey Kondogbia, €6,500,000 to Athletic Bilbao

              Transfers In

              Juan Mata

85 Ovr, Attacking Midfielder, 28 Years Old, Spain

              €15,500,000 + Enzo Perez

Valencia CF bought only two players in the transfer window and this signing is the one that makes most of the Bats' supporters happy and joyful. Juan Mata, who arrived in a player + cash deal from Manchester United, played for Valencia from 2007 to 2011 becoming a vital piece of their midfield. Now the 28-year-old has returned to the club that made him world class on a four-year-long contract. Mata is very capable in attack and he should be able to get lots of assists in the middle of the pitch for Valencia.

              Danilo

82 Ovr, Right Back, 25 Years Old, Brazil

              €22,200,000

The second and last signing Valencia made in the summer was Danilo the right back from FC Porto. The Brazilian all-rounded player was the second most expensive player of the transfer window but twenty million euros for him is a cheap price. Danilo has been an important part of Porto's game for several seasons and he was meant to join Real Madrid a year ago but the deal didn't go through. According to rumours the Brazilian international impressed Valencia's manager Mendieta last season in the Champions League.

              August 2016

              First Leg
              Valencia CF 2 - 1 FC Barcelona
              Sanchez 45', Busquets OG 45'
              Suarez 32' pen

In the Supercopa de España's first leg we managed to get a good win in front of our home fans. The game started off poorly for us as a Barcelona penalty was called in the 19th minute. Luckily Suarez missed it but thirteen minutes later he got another opportunity and he took it. Our star man Alexis Sanchez then equalised before the break and just a couple of minutes after that Sergio Busquets deflected Antoine Griezmann's shot into the net. Unfortunately Barca got an away goal that could prove to be very important.

              Second Leg

              FC Barcelona (2) 1 - 3 (5) Valencia CF
              Neymar 43'
              Sanchez 44', Negredo 45', Feghouli 45'

In the second leg of the Supercopa we were able to conquer the Camp Nou for the unimportant title. Four goals were scored in about five minutes before the half time whistle and we scored three of them. Barcelona were no match for us and we lifted our first title of the season.
              Spoiler

              Valencia CF 2 - 1 Villarreal CF
              Sanchez 65' pen, Torres 78'
              Pina 15', Musacchio 63' s/o

We started off our league season with a good and tough win against our bogey team Villarreal. They took the lead again early onto the game, this time with Tomas Pina's rebound shot. We tried hard to equalise and we finally managed to do that after the hour mark when Juan Mata got taken down in the box and a penalty was given. Alexis Sanchez stepped up to take it and he slotted it in past Sergio Asenjo. Thirteen minutes later Oliver Torres got the winning goal with a rebound shot.

              Athletic Bilbao 1 - 4 Valencia CF
              Iturraspe 7'
              Griezmann 14', Sanchez 32' pen, 70', Feghouli 82'

Once again our opponents scored first and got the lead in the first 15 minutes. Their lead didn't last long as Antoine Griezmann equalised only seven minutes later with a tap in, though. Fifteen minutes after that Juan Mata got tackled in the box once again and Alexis Sanchez shot the penalty in again. In the 70th minute the Chilean got a brace from a tap in and twelve minutes later Sofiane Feghouli netted the fourth from a counter attack.

              Valencia CF 5 - 1 Real Valladolid
              Sanchez 10', Griezmann 22', 32', Mata 45', Iborra 90'
              Robert 71'

We continued our win streak in an easy home game against Valladolid. Sanchez and Griezmann both got onto the scoresheet again and probably the biggest highlight of the game was Juan Mata's first goal back at the club. The ex-Valencia Robert got a consolation goal in the 71st minute and Vicente Iborra finished our fifth in stoppage time with a shot from the edge of the box.

              Champions League Group

              Valencia CF
              Olympique Lyon
              FC Porto
              Legia Warszawa

              La Liga Table

              1. Valencia CF, 9 pts
              2. Real Madrid, 9 pts
              3.Atletico Madrid, 7 pts
              4. Sevilla FC, 7 pts
              5. UD Almeria, 7 pts
              6. Real Valladolid, 6 pts
              ---------------------------------------------------
              18. Athletic Bilbao, 1 pt
              19. Real Zaragoza, 1 pt
              20. Villarreal CF, 0 pts

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

The FIFA 16 career mode changes have been unveiled by EA!

                https://www.easports.com/fifa/news/2...16-career-mode

I have mainly positive feelings about the changes. The pre-season tournaments are a nice addition to the game and you can get a solid 10M as prize money which is nice. EA also added an option to decline an invitation so if you don't need money or just want to focus on transfers you can do that. There's also an unlimited amount of subs in friendlies. That's a nice addition.

Then there is player training which is what all of us have been wanting. You can select five players for training and that will apparently slightly improve their stats. In theory it's a very good addition but I'm not sure how it will work. If I was playing with Stoke I'd just take my 6'8'' Peter Crouch and train him every week to increase his pace or if I was Real Madrid I'd make Ronaldo even more overpowered. Correctly used it's a nice thing to have and it will fix the lack of physical stats for youth players in the long run. It should also make players grow a bit more which is nice.

And those two things are the only major changes. There are still a few more changes, including:

                - story of the season where the commentators talk about players and performances like in real life

                - free agents can be signed every time (that's a good addition)!

                - the GTN scout reports don't expire in a few months like now

                - the transfer budget carrying to the new season is apparently fixed and tied up with what club you are using

                - two-year loans!

                - more realistic transfers

                - improved player values

                ...and apparently much more.

I will say that I am happy about the changes they made and I also think that they are finally taking big-ish steps into the right direction. The number of big features is disappointing but I guess there has to be something for next year. Maybe in 2016 we will get youth or reserve squads.

                What do you think?

I think the changes are incredible. It combines things we really wanted with changes that we would have liked. The overlay presentation in the Bundesliga is a huge step forward and makes me think La Liga will be next, and this just adds to the immersion factor. Training is fantastic and will help develop those players who just don't feature for you too much, like hot prospects. I really love the new adjustments to preseason and transfer budgets, which is going to be massive. Glad to see they're adjusting transfer prices as well. Makes no sense that you could buy a young prospect rated 75 with 84 potential for less than £10 million when he'd go for upwards of £25 million in real life. All in all, I think this will be the best career mode we've ever had.

It's so good to see them finally making an effort to improve career mode. They've been feeding us the same recycled stuff for a few years now, making useless changes like the GTN, or changing up the UI and calling it an "improved" career mode. These changes are stuff that finally make sense, and changes that have been called for by fans for some time now. I can only hope that the youth academy is fixed as well in regards to physical stats.

Simp, you'll be happy about this. Over 900 new chants from around the world and the Bundesliga has got the presentation pack the PL did last year!

That's great! Like I said the other day, hopefully they keep building up a new league each year and really make it a full experience to play in any of the major leagues. It would certainly make the careers much harder to choose from around here when it's time to start one!

I'm still processing the 9-8 score line!

I wish they would fix the teammate AI in Player CM's. Your team AI is so OP in 15 to the point where you can play as a team like Burton Albion and beat a team like Man City 5-0.
