I could be wrong but didn't you also have Lacazette back when you were doing your CM in FIFA 14? I knew it'd be a matter of time till he started scoring for you. Any worries about Dybala not fully buying into the 10 role after he was leading the league in scoring from the 9 role?

I tend to get through my transfer windows without getting a lot of input from you guys. Here's me trying to fix that. At Newport I may want to bring in a striker in the winter. Because of our limited budget I have to go after someone who's rating is around the mid 60's but hopefully has better potential than McKay/Thuram who have theirs in the mid 70's. I'm looking at Moussa Dembélé and maybe even Ademola Lookman but I'm taking suggestions!

It's hard to judge because you're about 2-3 seasons in but a quick search on SOFIFA (default squads) gave me these guys:

Leon Bailey (Genk) - Pace demon, hopefully he has improved his stamina, strength and finishing. Great potential.
Thierry Ambrose (Man City) - Good finishing starting off, decent pace and potential.
Borja Mayoral (Real Madrid) - 78 finishing at 64 Ovr! Slightly lower potential and strength isn't great.
Aaron Leya Iseka (Anderlecht) - Again decent finishing and good physicals, hopefully his stamina has improved.
Dimitri Oberlin (Red Bull Salzburg) - Fairly well rounded.
Allan Saint-Maximin (Hannover) - Good pace and ball skills.

I would give Dominik Solanke a look, young English talent who is playing in a different country who you could bring home to tear it up. I know he has decent potential of FIFA plus I've seen a few clips of him and he has some nasty tekkers.

I did have Lacazette yeah, I usually try to not repeat players too often but I couldn't resist with his quality, us needing a top tier striker, and that he's actually been linked to West Ham IRL and the fact that he won by a landslide in the poll, I had to go for him!

As for the Dybala question, I'll save that for the next episode in the mailbag!

some of these guys I hadn't look into. I guess in a way I'm stopping myself from looking into the big leagues since I'm still just in League One so I'm limiting myself to every league but the big ones like BPL, Ligue 1, Bundesliga Serie A, Eredivise, Liga NOS, and La Liga. In my head I tell myself that's more realistic. But at the very least I'll scout these guys anyways and maybe go for it. Bailey looks amazing but will probably be near the mid-70's and be out of my budget

                    The Bluebirds

                    November 2017

                    November 2, Cardiff City Stadium
                    EL Group Stage: Match 4

Cardiff City 3-1 Red Bull Salzburg
                    66', 88' Ward-Prowse, 90' Adama
                    10' Keïta

                    MotM: James Ward-Prowse (CAR)

Ward-Prowse stepped up to score a superb free kick from 19 yards to equalize after Keïta had given Salzburg an early lead. The same man would score a second to win the game. The former Southampton man found himself free in the box to receive Whittingham's pass and shoot across the away side's keeper. Adama sealed the victory in injury time showcasing his strength, pace and composure.

                    November 5, Cardiff City Stadium
                    Barclays PL: Match 12

                    Cardiff City 1-1 Watford
                    89' Phillips
                    45' Mancuello

                    MotM: Denis Suarez (CAR)

In a really poor game Mancuello put Watford ahead just before halftime, dreadful defending allowing the Watford man through much too easily. Phillips' equalizer was a piece of huge luck, Suarez' shot deflecting off the winger and past Gomes.

                    November 10, Aviva Stadium
                    International Friendly

                    Republic of Ireland 0-1 England

                    November 14, Wembley Stadium
                    International Friendly

                    England 1-2 USA
                    50' Cahill
                    26', 59' Dempsey

                    Simmed

                    November 18, Etihad Stadium
                    Barclays PL: Match 13

                    Manchester City 0-1 Cardiff City
                    90' (Pen) Iheanacho

                    MotM: Rubén Blanco (CAR)

Finally! A win in the league. And against an extremely strong Manchester City side to boot. It was a game the home side dominated but we still had chances, Cabellero saving from Afobe and Phillips while Bruma hit the post with a header. The winning goal came courtesy of former Manchester City man, Kelechi Iheanacho, the Nigerian slotting the ball home from the spot after Yaya had taken down Dele Alli.

                    November 23, Stadion Galgenwaard
                    EL Group Stage: Match 5

                    FC Utrecht 2-1 Cardiff City
                    23' Haller, 90' Hardeveld
                    37' Adama

                    MotM: Yassin Ayoub (UTR)

Our progression into the next round has already been confirmed, all that has to be decided is whether or not it will be in first or second. Utrecht took the lead through a Haller header that squeezed just under Cousins in goal. Adama pulled us level, dribbling around the defender and then scoring his second Europa League goal. The Dutch side would snatch a last minute winner however, Cousins palming a strong shot straight into the path of Hardeveld and he was unable to get up in time to stop the striker scoring. Everything is now to play for with Genoa drawing level with us on ten points and ahead by virtue of goals scored.

                    November 27, Cardiff City Stadium
                    Barclays PL: Match 14

                    Cardiff City 2-0 Manchester United
                    19' Iheanacho, 28' Alli

                    MotM: Kelechi Iheanacho (CAR)

An excellent way to end the month, beating a second placed Manchester United side. Iheanacho showed early warning signs, driving through the defence and forcing Johnstone to save onto the crossbar. Iheanacho then beat the keeper to a through ball from Williams to open the scoring. Dele Alli added a second soon after, running onto Ince's pass and avoiding Jones' tackle to lift the ball over the out coming Johnstone. Darmian struck the bar for United late on after jinking inside our defence but that was as close as the away side came to scoring.

Thanks for reading guys! I will try to get more regular updates out from now on.

I actually prefer two in midfield. It's the only way I can get a 4-4-2 to perform against or outclass formations with superior numbers in midfield. In the game, my dream midfield would be Nainggolan and Matuidi. If I were going with the 4-3-3, I'd put a deep-lying playmaker such as Carrick or Pirlo behind them. Oh, to have those funds.

Incidentally, anyone have suggestions for players similar to Krychowiak? I'm on the lookout for a behemoth at CDM who can be backup central defender on default squads. Need absolutely top-of-the-line tackling, passing and physical stats. Vision, heading and pace are bonuses but not crucial. Budget of around £12-15 million but I can stretch it to £20 million for a world-class superstar. Default squads, summer of season 3.

I highly suggest Tyler Walker from Nottingham Forest. Get the scouting report done and you'll see what I mean.

William Carvalho came up in a quick search. Only 60' pace but his long passing and vision should gave improved by now. He might be a bit expensive though, I'm not sure. Luiz Gustavo is another option but I didn't look too closely at him as he will be about 30 and could be declining. Therefore he should be a bit cheaper.

Carvalho signed with Liverpool in 2016 for £26 million and I assume they will want to make a profit on his sale. Not happening at the moment. Gustavo is just a destroyer. I need someone with a little more... panache.

Found a couple of possible candidates in McCarthy (Everton), Geis (Schalke) and Camacho (Malaga). Alternatively, I could move Kaboul to CDM and buy a new centre half.

McCarthy definitely, although I may be a bit biased

Those three could be good options though. I'd keep Kaboul at CB.
