    Spoiler

    Squad:

    Goalkeepers

GK, Tim Krul, 29 years old, Netherlands, 79 (+1) ovr
    54 apps, 23 CS

Krul played every competitive game we had this season and was excellent throughout all of them. We are not looking to sell him, but being the best keeper in the Premier League is sure to bring lots of offers.

GK, Karl Darlow, 26 years old, England, 68 ovr
    0 apps

Darlow did not make any appearances for us but still seems happy at the club and is on cheap wages so will probably stay as a backup to Krul.

GK, Rob Elliot, 31 years old, Republic of Ireland, 69 ovr
    1 app

Elliot made one appearance for us in the preseason tournament and he is not happy about that so will be looking to move this summer

    Defenders

RB, DeAndre Yedlin, 23 years old, United States, 77 (+2) ovr
    35 apps, 1 assist, 16 CS

Yedlin is first choice right back after taking Janmaat’s spot at the beginning of the season. He has been solid both defensively and offensively despite a lack of assist, he is always there to link up.

RB, Daryl Janmaat, 27 years old, Netherlands, 77 ovr
    21 apps, 2 goals, 7 CS

Yedlin may start but Janmaat always plays well when he gets the chance, though his two goals may deceive you into thinking he gets up and down the field well (both goals were in the preseason tournament) he has trouble playing on both sides of the ball because he is to slow in transition.

CB, Chancel Mbemba, 22 years old, DR Congo, 81 (+3) ovr
    36 apps, 16 CS

Mbemba has been a rock ever since I took charge of the club despite his age. Good on the ball, great tackling and quite strong he is great to have in back and was a capable defender against even the best forwards. He is a good candidate to become captain when Krul leaves or retires.

CB, John Brooks, 24 years old, United States, 80 (+2) ovr
    36 apps, 1 assist, 16 CS

Brooks and Mbemba played all their games together and may be the best center back partnership in the league. Brooks is the oldest center back we have at the club but shows discipline beyond his age.

CB, Jonathan Tah, 21 years old, Germany, 80 (+4) ovr
    29 apps, 8 CS

Tah became unhappy with his playing time near the end of the season but Brooks and Mbemba were rock solid. A lot of Tah’s appearances came from substitutions into midfield where he performed well to kill off a game.

CB, Jamaal Lascelles, 23 years old, England, 73 ovr
    17 apps, 7 CS

Lascelles is a good squad player but he has not developed as well as I hoped and will most likely never been seen starting in our strongest starting line up.

CB, Kyle Cameron, 20 years old, England, 62 (+1) ovr
    On loan at Preston

I do not see much of a future of Kyle Cameron here at Newcastle.

LB, Massadio Haidara, 24 years old, France, 75 (+1) ovr
    20 apps, 8 CS

Much like Janmaat , Haidara is good defensively but lacks the pace to get up and down the field to contribute on both side. He is a good backup for Moreno though and has plenty of time to improve.

LB, Alberto Moreno, 24 years old, Spain, 79 (+1) ovr
    36 apps, 1 assist, 15 CS

Moreno came in for $18,000,000 which a lot would say was overpaying but he has been phenomenal just like Yedlin getting down the field to link up play. He doesn’t have many assist because we don’t have anyone up top scoring headers but he does contribute none the less.

    Midfielders

CDM, Eric Dier, 23 years old, England, 82 (+3) ovr
    26 apps, 4 assist, 12 CS

Despite several injuries throughout the year Eric Dier was always good in the midfield when he was called upon. He is great at breaking up opposition play and distributing the ball for us.

CDM, Jonathan Brégerie, 16 years old, France, 55 ovr
    0 apps

Youth player that was called up after the last game of the season.

CDM, Jack Colback, 27 years old, England, 76 ovr
    10 apps, 3 CS

Colback never really stood out to me when he played and was only used when we face injuries and against weak opponents. He seems happy to sit in the reserves and be used sparingly though.

CM, Jonjo Shelvey, 25 years old, England, 81 (+1) ovr
    37 apps, 2 goals, 10 assists, 16 CS

Shelvey played every game he was fit this season and I expect next season to be similar, with us looking to challenge more seriously in Europe next year it will be essential that Shelvey stays fit.

CM, Renato Sanches, 19 years old, Portugal, 79 (+2)
    30 apps, 2 goals, 4 assists, 14 CS

It’s hard to believe Sanches is only 19 years old and could potentially play with us for more than a decade longer. He has plenty of time to develop into a superstar that may look like a bargain in the future.

CM, Kwaw Fuseini, 17 years old, Ivory Coast, 53 ovr
    0 apps

Youth player that was just called up.

CM, Henri Saivet, 26 years old, Senegal, 79 (+1) ovr
    21 apps, 2 goals, 7 assists, 10 CS

Saivet saw himself fall down the pecking order when Dier moved to the club, but he still did a good job and showed his worth when he was called upon.

CAM, Rémy Cabella, 27 years old, France, 80 (+1) ovr
    16 apps, 3 goals, 3 assists, 6 CS

Most of Cabella’s appearances came on the wing, a position that I would say he is less effective. Near the end of the season he shifted inside to cover for the injured Eriksen and showed that he is good enough to play in the middle if we need him to.

CAM, Christian Eriksen, 25 years old, Denmark, 85 ovr
    41 apps, 21 goals, 7 assists, 10 CS

Not all of his appearances are for Newcastle but the majority of the goals are. Coming in during the January transfer window Eriksen fit right into the team and scored lots of goals, coming second in the goalscorers table.

    Wingers

RM, Andros Townsend, 25 years old, England, 78 (+1) ovr
    35 apps, 13 goals, 6 assists, 15 CS

I was not very fond of Townsend when I first joined Newcastle but over the course of two seasons he has proved to be an important part of the squad. I may look to bring someone to play on right midfield because he is currently the only one but the starting spot is his to lose.

LM, Georginio Wijnaldum, 26 years old, Netherlands, 82 ovr
    38 apps, 7 goals, 5 assists, 16 CS

Not quite the goal threat he was his first season at the club but a key player none the less. A good dribbler and has the speed to beat people he just needs to work on his positioning a little to get into more goalscoring opportunities.

LM, Rolando Aarons, 21 years old, England, 78 (+2) ovr
    18 apps, 4 goals, 1 assist, 6 CS

Aarons has been okay in my tenure at Newcastle. He has been nothing spectacular and really needs to work on his finishing and passing if he wants to be a starter for us.

    Forwards

ST, M’Baye Niang, 22 years old, France, 78 (+1) ovr
    28 apps,13 goals, 5 assists, 5 CS

Niang was unhappy at the beginning of the season because of a lack of playing time but now is very happy having earned a place in the team after he began scoring. One problem I have with Niang is his stamina, he seems to get tired very quickly and is incapable of playing matches within a short time which I understand can be difficult but it seems to be worse for him than anyone else.

ST, Ángel Correa, 22 years old, Argentina, 82 (+2) ovr
    37 apps, 22 goals, 8 assists, 16 CS

Top scorer of the Premier League is quite the feat, especially for a player only 22 years old. He is a fantastic forwards with great finishing, dribbling, positioning and technical abilities.

ST, Adam Armstrong, 20 years old, England, 73 (+4) ovr
    15 apps, 5 goals, 2 assists, 4 CS

I was worried going into the season with only two proven strikers but Armstrong has surprised me with his ability to find the back of the net five times in what came at very limited minutes coming off the bench late on.

ST, Ayoze Perez, 23 years old, Spain, 78 (+1)
    18 apps, 4 goals, 4 assists, 6 CS

Perez is listed as a forward but I don’t think he ever played there this season. He just doesn’t feel right in that position and was utilized as an attacking mid and on both flanks.

ST, Ivan Toney, 21 years old, England, 66 (+2) ovr
On loan at Oldham Athletic (2 year deal)

Unless Toney sees significant improvement before he comes back from his loan deal he will be sold.

Klopp Confident Liverpool Will Be Great

Klopp Looks On During LFC Training

<p>LIVERPOOL -- Brendan Rodgers' tenure at Liverpool Football Club has come to an end--and the Reds have announced that former Borussia Dortmund Manager J&uuml;rgen Klopp has been hired. The charasmatic German comes to the club after leaving Dortmund in the summer, and already hopes are high at Anfield. During his time at Dortmund, Klopp led them to 2 Bundesliga titles (and 2 runners-up), 1 German Cup (and 2 runners-up), and a Champions Leauge runner up in 2012-2013.</p>
<p>"I am thrilled to be here. Liverpool are a world class club and I have every intention of returning them to glory in not only the Premier League, but also we will be a yearly Champions League participant. I have every intention of winning the Europa League this year to guarantee our spot in the UCL next season. We have a class squad here--and we will return this club to where it belongs--the top."</p>
<p>Liverpool supporters are just as enthusiastic with the board's decision to bring on Klopp as Klopp was himself. Season tickets are already on the rise, as Liverpool won their preseason tournament in South America--and are ready to take the Premier League by storm.</p>
<p>The Reds' season begins away at The Britannia Stadium in Stoke, before their first home mactch at Anfield vs Bournemouth on 17 August.</p>

        LIVERPOOL SMASHED BY STOKE

Sturridge's Goal Was Liverpool's Lone Bright Spot

STOKE -- It took Liverpool just 5' min the Premier League to score their first goal for their new manager Jurgen Klopp. The problem lied in the latter 85 minutes, as their lead quickly vanished as the Reds were soundly beaten 3-1 on Match Day 1.

Began would answer with a goal of his own just 10 minutes later and the match continued at 1-1 into halftime. Early in the 2nd half, the Stoke attack just mesmerized the Liverpool defense as Diouf and Marko Arnautović added goals to clinch the victory for the Potters.

Liverpool will limp home to Anfield in hopes of getting Klopp's victory out of the way, as they face newly promoted side Bournemouth next weekend.

Those were some hard loses to Barca/Chelsea in cup games and I can only suggest you use those to fuel you next season. I believe you stayed at Sunderland but did you do the financial takeover?
Through a combination of training and organic growth, Buckley has reached 82 OVR with agility, finishing, dribbling and passing in the high 80s/low 90s. And yes, I am staying at Sunderland without a financial takeover. Time to stick it to the Catalan bast*rds.

            FA Cup Replay
            Accrington 1-0 Oxford United
            90' Coneely

Coneely buried the chance when it came to him. The ball dropped in the box from a free kick and the Irishman was the first to react, stabbing it into the Oxford net.

            League Two
            Hartlepool 2-0 Accrington
            12' Featherstone, 58' Paynter

Hartlepool were clinical with their chances, scoring twice from 3 shots (2 OT) compared to our 12 (8 OT). Not a good day at the office for us.

            7. Northampton 37

            23. Barnet 21
            24. Yevoil 18

            Thoughts

We had a good start to the month, aside from the J. Paint Trophy exit to Doncaster (You were right Rabbit, unfortunately ). Three solid wins with clean sheets helped us to bounce back before a bad loss to Hartlepool followed by a draw against Oxford to close out the month. We've managed to close the gap on Portsmouth to just two points but Notts County are still right in the mix.

Our big game next month is against none other than the reds from Merseyside, Liverpool. That should be interesting. The January window is also open although we don't have much in the way of funds, perhaps a few promotions from the academy will have to suffice but they would be no more than depth players at the minute because they are not yet advanced enough in their development. (Only have three 1* scouts. ) Perhaps a good offer that we can't refuse may come in, who knows?

            Thanks for reading guys!

                    Summary

Liverpool are off to a dreadful start to the 2015/16 Premier League campaign under new boss Jurgen Klopp. The Reds have scored just 3 goals in their first 4 games and the squad is having trouble finding chemistry on the pitch. Just two points through their first four games have them in 18th place on the league table. Fans and the board alike are growing anxious at the club's lack of production.

The club heads into the first international break with a match vs Manchester United at Old Trafford looms on the 12. They'll follow up that match with the opening of the Europa League (home vs Rubin Kazan), and then a Capital One Cup match away at Bournemouth.

                      FIFA 16 - Season 2

                      The Blades

                      October 2016

                      Sheffield United 1 - 2 Leicester City
                      SHU - Sharp 85' (Pen)
                      LEI - Gray 2', Kramaric 21'
                      MOTM: Long

Match Summary: Gray beat his man on the left and then played a great one-two to get the ball back and slot it home on the left side of goal. Okazaki got free on the left wing and picked out Kramaric all alone in the middle of the box for the quick redirection past the keeper into the right side of the goal. Kante cut down Adams inside the box and Sharp was on hand to slot the penalty home to pull one back.

Preston North End 1 - 1 Sheffield United
                      PRE - Johnson 62'
                      SHU - Sharp 52' (PEN)
                      MOTM: Long

Match Summary: Woods slid through Scougall just as he was getting ready to send the ball in and Sharp converted the penalty to put the Blades up early in the second half. An unlucky deflection from the defender left the ball in the path of Johnson and the keeper hesitated on coming out and gave up the goal to his left for the equalizer.

                      Sheffield United 0 - 2 Conventry City
                      COV - Thomas 40', de Jesus 50'
                      MOTM: Willis

Match Summary: Proof that possession doesn't mean a thing. The Blades controlled the ball, but it meant little when they could hardly get a shot off. An embarrassing 0 shots on goal was the result, and Coventry converted twice off of two balls that the attacker just simply outworked the defenders.

                      Nottingham Forest 1 - 1 Sheffield United
                      NOT - Pizarro 65'
                      SHU - Campbell-Ryce 45'
                      MOTM: Ousted

Match Summary: Cameron was a man possessed early on creating all kinds of problems for the Forest back line. Just before the half he found his way free on the left side and was about to send a ball in when Lichaj slid in from behind and took him out. Campbell-Ryce converted just off center to the left to take the lead. Pizarro got the ball outside of the box and pushed it one step inside before firing a powerful shot past the keeper on the near post for the equalizer.

                      SHU - Cuvelier 54'
                      MOTM: Long

Match Summary: Cuvelier played the ball to Scougall and went on a diagonal run through the defense for Scougall to play the ball back to him on the right side of the goal. He let it run past him and he hit first time up over the keeper and into the top right corner for the only goal of the match.

                      Sheffield United 1 - 0 Wigan Athletic
                      SHU - Brayford 118'
                      MOTM: Howard

Match Summary: Both teams saw their chances come and go throughout the match and the Blades had several opportunities to end the match, but Wigan's keeper kept coming up big making save after save. In the end it was a corner that ended the shut out. The keeper got tangled with one of his own players and didn't reach the ball to punch it out and Brayford was able to head it past him for the deciding goal.

                      Brentford FC 0 - 0 Sheffield United
                      MOTM: Long

Match Summary: It looked like sheffield had won it when Flynn and Sharp both pressured a backpass to the keeper causing him to try to clear it in a panic. His clearance deflected off of Flynn directly in front of him and then bounced off of Sharp's chest back in front of Flynn and he tapped it in. In a controversial decision, the linesman raised his flag and called it offside despite it all being off of deflections on the keeper's clearance.

Tex - Good start to the season in the Championship. Your results have been consistent even though you have dropped a few points but that is very reasonable considering you just got promoted. You're doing a good job in the Capital One Cup, too. Townsend looks like a huge prospect but I'm also looking forward to seeing how he grows and becomes huge for you.

Hedges - Firstly, good to have you back on the thread! Then to your career. Liverpool is a very solid and interesting choice with some very exciting players but you have started the season off in horrendous fashion. I really hope you improve fast. Fortunately it's still early and there is time to turn it around.

Keano - You have been doing very well with Accrington and you're on your way towards that automatic promotion. Well done to progress in the FA Cup, too, but what a game that will be against Liverpool. Good luck, you'll need it! By the way, how is your youth academy looking since you mentioned promoting a couple of guys? Also, I love that little (unintentional?) Godfather reference in the 'offer that we can't refuse' line right at the end :P

Yanks - Dude, congratulations on winning the Premier League! If we look only at the league, you did a great job to win the title, especially after that tough start! Shame about getting eliminated from the Europa League early on but that will make you more motivated for the big competition next season. Also, your squad is looking very good, especially the defence with my boy Brooks in there and with recent signing Eriksen making a huge impact! Do you have any plans for the summer transfer window?

Rabbit - Kayseri: your transfer windows are always interesting to read through because you are always willing to sell even the bigger names of the team. Peñaranda and Alonso are some amazing signings with a very bright future while Sto... Stolj... Stojiljkovic looks like a solid player who is already making an impact. Also, it's interesting that you're bringing quite a few Serbians, Greeks and Croatians into the team through transfers and academy considering those countries' history with Turkey but hey, I'm happy to see a bit of Balkan blood in there. Gianakos is looking amazing in the academy and I'm excited to see how he does for you in the future.

Solid results with a draw against Fenerbahce and a win against Besiktas although you did drop quite a few points. Fourth is still a very good position but that three-point gap over seventh is a bit concerning.

Cabee - Two words: complete domination, especially that cup game against Crewe! You have basically won the Premier League with that huge lead so early on. The cup competitions are the more exciting ones now and I wish you luck in winning your second treble.

Moose - I think you had a great season, finishing in second and winning the FA Cup is very good! The squad is also looking very good and all you need is better results against teams that are low in the table. My vote for goal of the season went to Mark Noble's strike against Man United. I'm looking forward to next season!

Cruzerr - January was another up-and-down month for you as you beat Oxford and Arsenal when you actually played the game but then lost to Aston Villa. I have to say, that Arsenal simulation sounds extremely frustrating and it's fair to say that the game screwed you up there. You are in a very good position in the league but like you said the difference between you and seventh is very small. I still believe in you, though! Also, don't be a tease and just tell us who the Bosman signing is :P

That should be everything. I'm pretty sure I didn't miss anyone but in case I did, I really apologise!

                              My thoughts

Disappointing - Sure, we won the derby and against Swansea, which is nice, beating top teams isn't a problem, but struggling with bottomfeeders and dropping out of the cup to another London team (Really, first Arsenal, now Spuds?) is not the way to handle our things.

Forgot - I actually did do some dealing in January. I sold Garbutt to Middlesbrough for £2.3 mil.

Next post - So, to end the season, there will be three posts.

                              1. April and May, which features some huge games. (Spurs, Arsenal, ManU, Chelsea)

                              2. Complete season recap, involving team of the year, other awards and around the globe results.

                              3. Our own season review.

                              Take care!

Yep, things are going very nicely in the league and top 3 should be atleast where we finish, but I'm aiming for the title. Agreed, Liverpool will be a tough test so we'll see if we can pull out a shock result against them. The academy isn't great due to only having 1* scouts but the couple players that are in there at the minute could be capable depth players.

Haha it was an unintentional quote but now that I think about it, it is an appropriate one! It was probably subconscious.
