In what was rather controversial news, Vincent Tan has decided to sack Malky Mackay, who had established promotion to the Premier league, and hire a rather unknown Brazilian manager. Neto joins Cardiff City from São Paulo, where he was the assistant manager of Muricy Ramalho. The 37-year old Brazilian has agreed a 2 year contract with the Bluebirds.

“It is a fantastic opportunity to take charge of Cardiff City. It has been a dream of me to lead a team to success in the English Premier League. I am looking forward to convince the fans that I am the right man for the job.” Said Neto.

According to Vincent Tan, Neto has the ability to take Cardiff City to a higher level than previous manager Malky Mackay. The controversial owner said: “I know it seems illogical to sack a manager who lead our team to promotion, but I couldn’t pass out on Neto. Several teams were interested in him and it was now or never for us.”

Malky Mackay has been reported to be disappointed. “I am very disappointed. I wanted to stay. I feel like this is a lack of respect towards me and the work I have put in.”

Neto’s first official game in charge will be against West Ham United on Saturday the seventeenth of August.

Looking forward to hearing more of this!

Bristol City Career Mode Season 2

            Championship

            November 2014

We entered November 5 points clear of second place Bolton after 15 games in the Championship and on an astonishing 10 game winning streak, could we extend it? Will we still be top come the end of the month? Would star man Liam Kelly continue his great run of form? Could 16 year old Tiberio Immobile play himself into some good form after not impressing in his first few showings for the first team? Let's find out

            November 1st, 2014
            Bristol City 3-0 Reading
            J. Emmanuel-Thomas '34, '41
            Bryan '82

We swept past Reading with a comfortable 3 nil victory, Emmanuel-Thomas netted two one on one's with the keeper both provide by Joe Bryan, Bryan then finding himself a goal 8 minutes from time.

Man Of The Match: Joe Bryan

            November 4th, 2014
            Sheffield Wednesday 2-4 Bristol City
            Lavery '2, '80
            Baldock '12, '37, '66
            Ximo '89

We thoroughly deserved the win in Sheffield, Baldock bagged a hat-trick, Sheffield applied some late pressure but we kept them at bay and Ximo killed the game off late on to give us our 12th straight win

Man Of The Match: Sam Baldock

            November 11th, 2014
            Bristol City 2-1 Huddersfield
            J. Emmanuel-Thomas '13, '45
            Clayton '89

We welcomed 15th place Huddersfield in a game where a draw would've been a fair result, we had a poor first half even though we were 2 up at the break, another game full of late pressure but the lads pulled through and we secured our 13th win on the trot and stayed top of the Championship

Man Of The Match: Frank Fielding

            November 22nd, 2014

            Middlesbrough 2-1 Bristol City
            Gauld '26
            Tomlin '45
            Lutkiewicz '85

Our streak was ended by 7th place Middlesbrough in a game that we deserved the win but a horror keeping error by Fielding in the 45th minute turned the game, Gauld was our only goalscorer but he was poor, Baldock was our best player.

Man Of The Match: J. Steele (Midd.)

            November 29th, 2014
            Leicester City 2-3 Bristol City
            Vardy '4
            Nugent '86
            Wagstaff '34
            Emmanuel-Thomas '45, '62

Thoroughly deserved the 3 points, a tough first half that ended 2-1 to us but we cruised away in the second to ensure we stay 1st at the end of November.

Man Of The Match: Jay Emmanuel-Thomas

PLAYER OF THE MONTH: Sam Baldock

Table: (top 6/bottom 6) Points on the left, Goal Difference on the right.
            Everyone has played 20 games
            1. Bristol City: |51|pts. |29|GD. (GF: 48 GA: 19)
            2. West Ham: |49| |26|
            3. Bolton: |40| |14|
            4. Norwich City: |36| |25|
            5. Leicester City: |33| |5|
            6. Nott'm Forrest: |33| |3|

            19. Derby County: |21|pts. |-8|GD.
            20. Milwall: |21| |-14|
            21. Sheffield Wed: |20| |-7|
            22. Birmingham: |20| |-12|
            23. Preston: |9| |-23|
            24. Barnsley: |5| |-27|

Month: Summary: Overall a good month for us, lost our 13 game winning streak but took 12 points from the 15 on offer this month, just 2 points ahead of West Ham but 11 points ahead of 3rd place Bolton, our aim is top 2 and we're right on track, we have Bolton next month which could almost solidify our premier league place even though it's very early on and then the Januray transfer window.

I ended up going for Southampton. Some good youth, 8.5 million budget and LOTS of need for improvement. They hardly have any good depth so that's one thing I am working on. Trying to sign good young English players for depth but hard with my limited budget.

Surprisingly the league objective is to qualify for Euro League... I think it's possible if I perform very well but it will be very challenging.

I can't remember all of my signings and their prices but these are the players I signed. I did a lot of swap deals will post later the amounts and players swapped for.

              Sam Byram
              Simone Scuffet
              Danny Ings
              Connor Wickham
Ondoa (loan with future fee of 800k)
              Jon Flanagan
              Jamaal Lascelles
              Nathan Aké
              Eric Dier
              Nathaniel Chalobah

Those are the ones I can remember. Tried to focus on young English talents and also got Scuffet as my new 1st choice goalkeeper because Boruc is 36, there was another old GK(Davis I think), then there was Gazzaniga and a 57 rated goalkeeper who I am never going to use. Ondoa was signed as my backup. He is 62 ovr, 17 yo with 80 potential

Eric Dier was part of a swap with Yoshida and he goes straight into the first team.

Flanagan is my backup to Luke Shaw while my RB position is occupied by Clyne with Chambers backing him up.

There is a shortage of wingers so I signed Byram with thoughts of using him as a RM not a RB

Chalobah and Cork are my backups for CDM with Wanyama and Schneiderlin being in my first team.

Dier and Lovren are my first choice CB's and Aké and Lascelles is the rotational players.

Currently Lallana is playing RM and Jay Rodriguez is playing LM. I don't have a backup LM but Byram is my backup for RM. If all else fails I'll play Shaw at LM or Gaston Ramirez

My two strikers are Wickham and Ings (both are really good to play with an nice potentials)

Currently Gaston Ramirez is my first choice CAM with Ward-Prowse backing him up

Thinking of swapping Ramirez for Raheem Sterling then I have another winger and I can play Lallana at CAM. Do you guys think I should do that?

Hopefully I'll save up some money to get a good scout before the end of the season I only have 500k left with 10k wages

              Don't swap Ramirez for Sterling

In game Sterling is not important to Liverpool and is listed as a squad rotation player. You can get him extremely cheap and Ramirez is probably worth around 20mil

I don't know how to give you a template, I'm not really great with HTML and my browser has real-time formatting anyway. I just make the main headings bold and bigger than usual, followed by the club crest and update information. Scores and team names in bold, scorers in italics, followed by a brief recap of the game, all centre aligned. I think a mix of what OneDrop and conorjhill are posting is bascially what mine amounts to.

Great signings for the Saints, by the way. Wickham is going to take a season to come good, but boy does he come good... as you'll see soon enough.

Great updates, you're really on a roll! Might want to scout for some free deals as you'll need the numbers to help you stay up if you get promoted again, which seems likely. I like the MOTM and player of the month bits as well, going to be integrating them into my updates as well if that's fine.

Anyone else ever feel the FA is conspiring against you?

I'm nearing the first year in my Arsenal CM, and my FA Cup matches are just insane. I've had to to face the following teams in this order: Man United, Newcastle, Man City, Chelsea.

If I get past Chelsea, I should have an easy road to the final.

Anyone else have some insane domestic cup fixtures?

                          Sunderland AFC: Nine Lives
June to August 2014 Update + Summer Transfers

                          Preseason

                          Sunderland 0-1 Mainz
                          Koo 67'

I'm not too worried about preseason losses because the primary goal is fitness.

                          Kaiserslautern 1-1 Sunderland
                          Zoller 22'
                          Stoch 86'

Glad to see Miro grab his first goal in Sunderland colours, but again this result is not a major issue.

                          Sunderland 2-0 Napoli
                          Wickham 19', Stoch 45'

I stress again, despite winning this time... results are not important in the preseason. Almost everyone is fielding weakened teams, so it's always about fitness.

                          August

                          Reading 0-3 Sunderland
                          Mutch 11', Vergini 44', Wickham 90'

Here's where results count, and we stood up and made it count. With Fletcher on his way to complete a medical at Stoke, I wanted to give Wickham a chance to show me he can fill those boots. He did so ably with a goal and an assist.

                          Sunderland 2-0 Liverpool
                          Stoch 35' 72'

I really didn't expect to come away with three points, but it's a testament to our development that my boys proved me wrong. Great for Miro to get a brace on his competitive debut.

                          Newcastle United 0-1 Sunderland
                          Diakite 23'

Always important to beat Newcastle, and that's something we're very good at. Even defenders who were on loan last season know how to score against the Magpies.

                          **********

                          Analysis

                          • Three games, six goals scored, zero conceded, nine points, first place. This is a dream start for us, though I wonder just how long it's going to last.

                          • Wickham has made an impact right away with a goal and two assists in his first three matches of this league season. I was toying with signing a big-name striker like Welbeck or Bony, but I might just give Wickham the chance to become Sunderland's first-choice goalscorer.

                          • Too early to make any further judgment, so let's get to signings...

                          Press Conference

First things first. Ninth place is beyond what most of us expected from you last year. How did you do it?

A combination of personnel changes and tactical nous. You saw the kind of football we employed: plenty of passing and possession, patient chance creation, a deep defensive block with blistering counter-attacks, and relentless pressing from our defensive third up to the centre of the pitch. No other club expected to be scrapping for relegation or a lower-mid-table finish had that blend of personnel and style.

And the reward was a delicious transfer kitty for this summer. I mean, your club even managed to post a profit.

Yes, the sale of several players helped us trim our wage bill by a significant amount. We posted some of the highest matchday revenue figures in the league last season, and our growing brand and public profile have helped tremendously. Add to that the lucrative broadcasting deal, and you have a winner.

That transfer kitty means you made lots of signings this summer, yet you've managed to spend so little of what's been made available to you. Just curious, what happened to quality over quantity?

I don't know what you're on about. We signed three players and have the option to purchase one more at the end of the season. The other four are loanees to add depth to our squad. Apologies for not having the budget of Manchester City.

There's no need for sarcasm, Indi.

                          Just trying to be English...

In all seriousness, I have to state publicly how proud I am of Connor for stepping up. Every club needs a source of goals, and I think he will do well for us. But it's vital that we have more than just one man, and that's where Danny Ings comes into play. He will share the role of primary goalscorer this year, and I believe the jump up to Premiership football will be easy for him. Having Miro also gives us another head to rely on.

What about Mikkel Diskerud? He joined on a Bosman yet hasn't played more than 15 minutes as a sub. Is he just backup?

Mix is still adjusting to the huge gap between Norwegian football and the Premier League. He is working on his physique and fitness, that's why he hasn't featured for us much so far.

How do you keep getting such great players on loan? Two years ago, Sunderland was a dead end.

I speak for everyone at Sunderland when I say how happy we are that a club of Real Madrid's stature sees fit to send their players to us for development. It's a crucial stage of Casemiro's career, and we are flattered that Real have entrusted his welfare to us. It's important to cultivate good ties with the best clubs, and how many are better than the biggest in the world?

As for Arsenal, we have a good rapport with them since we signed Vito Mannone a year ago. Again, we are flattered that such a prestigious club has trusted us with their players. The same goes for Lyon.

But why is it that they all trust you?

I suppose they believe this is the right setting. We play an attractive brand of football similar to the styles employed at those clubs. In addition, we are relatively unknown, meaning the players can go about their development without too much media interest and spotlight interference. Such a situation is not ideal for a growing mind and body, and it's quite impossible to be left alone at a club like Arsenal or Real Madrid. We are a home away from home.

                          You never mentioned Steven Caulker.

You never asked about the players we sold.

What about the players you sold?

                          That's a good question.

Fletcher asked me to sanction a move away before the preseason got underway. It's understandable that he preferred regular game time to being part of our project. Sometimes you have to put yourself first. As for Vergini, he was quite solid for us at the back last year, but he was never in my long-term plans. I mean him no disrespect, but I don't want to pretend and lie for the sake of manners. Both of them went for far above their value, and we are thrilled to have made the sales at those prices.

Which brings me to Steven Caulker. He's an excellent defender who knows how the Premiership works. I couldn't allow a player of his quality to ply his trade in a lower division, and Vergini's sale means we needed to add to our ranks. Cardiff were insistent on us including a player in the deal, and Diakite was very professional about the opportunity. He understood that it was a chance for him to play regularly and help a team come back to the top flight. I was very impressed by his practicality and willingness to accept facts, and I truly regret that we will not be working together. He is an excellent man and a wonderful human being.

One last question. During your presentation last year, you mentioned a closer link between the development of Sunderland city and Sunderland AFC. What's happening there?

I don't have all the details, but there has been significant investment over the past 12 months. It's definitely nowhere near as much as is needed to fully revitalise the city and region, but it's a start. The real development will come when this club is competing for domestic and continental titles. European home games will generate business from away fans, and success on the pitch will bring development to a popularised city. We all have to be patient. Like I said, it's a very long-term plan.

In game Sterling is not important to Liverpool and is listed as a squad rotation player. You can get him extremely cheap and Ramirez is probably worth around 20mil

Ok thanks for advice, I just really need a winger and sterling ticks all the boxes.
Young, English and a bright future.

I didn't mean don't get him, just don't do that specific swap because it's a bad deal for you.

Just buy Sterling outright, he's like 6 mil USD
