Press Conference
Q: Very tough month taking only 1 point the entire month. What do you need to do to start getting better results from matches?
A: It all starts with conceding less. We are giving up entirely too many goals. I am starting to feel like a broken record each press conference highlighting the same things, but the fact is that things need to change. You can expect some changes in tactics going forward, but I can't give away too much information on that.
Q: You are starting to slide down the table. How disastrous would this season be if you were to fall into the relegation zone?
A: It would be a nightmare. This club is one that deserves to be in La Liga. I intend to keep us there. You can mark my words now, we will NOT be relegated. I have a vision for this team and that is not part of it.
Q: The youth academy is starting to come together now with a handful of players currently in the system. Do you plan to extend the Academy even more?
A: I would love to expand our Academy, but the funds are needed elsewhere right now. I am happy with the players we have gotten so far, but I know that our system is capable of so much more. We need to bring in some more funds, and with the Copa Del Rey coming up, we have a chance to do just that.

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Ok finally able to post some mode details about my team. I feel good about the work I've put in for this summer '15 transfer window. I run a 4-1-2-1-2 (diamond wide). I've finally gotten some strikers on this team and for the most part I was able to upgrade on many fronts either with higher rated players or similarly rated players who are younger and will improve. My lineup:
GK: Sebastion D'Angelo, 76 OVR (26 Y/O from Argentina, was a backup at Boca when I arrived and eventually became a starter, was in the mid 60's when I started this career. Replaces my high 68 OVR GK who was over 30 Y/O)
RB: Fernando Navarro, 68 OVR (I poached this guy out of the Mexican league for just over a million. The 26 Y/O replaces a 34 Y/O 66 OVR RB who is now on the bench. Thank you for your services Mr. Nagore as you consider retirement)
RCB: Serran, 68 OVR (This 31-year old continues to hold down this position, especially after selling my other CB from last season for over $1.5 million. He's solid.
LCB: Chema Rodriguez, 64 OVR (This 23 Y/O kid from Spain replaces Mr. Jean-Sylvain Babin who at 71 OVR I sold for the amount mentioned above. I'm confident he'll fill in well)
LB: Adama Traore, 68 OVR (I sent one of my GN guys all the way out to the A-League and ended up finding this 25 Y/O from Ivory Coast. Speedy (85 spd, 87 acc), he replaces a 29 Y/O French dude who apparently wants to retire after this season. The Frenchy is actually a 69 OVR but I rather develop my future)
CDM: Mikel Iribas, 66 OVR (Just a solid all-around guy, one of those who plays above his rating. 27 Y/O from Spain was one of the most pleasant surprises in my first few months both as a RM and coming off the bench)
RM: Rafael Lopez 66 OVR (This 17 year old kid from Venezuela is someone I scouted while at Boca and he was poached away by some other European team, and I saw that he was developing well so I went out and paid for him. I have BIG expectations for him given his early developments)
LM: Sergio Prendes, 62 OVR (29 Y/O old from Spain has actually played really well although he stands to be replaced in the near future. Can also be a strike so that's an asset considering my only two true strikers are my starters)
CAM: Javito, 63 OVR (31 Y/O vet is the captain this season, he gets his job done each and every time so I can live with him for now as I look for his future replacement)
RS: Steve Leo Beleck, 63 OVR (I saw Udinese was looking to loan this promising 22 Y/O kid from Cameroon so I stepped right up and got him on a full season loan. Depending on how he does I may look to gather up the fund to out right buy him next season)
LS: Orlando Gaona Lugo, 62 OVR (Another product of the Boca Jrs network, this kid was dusting up on their roster and I got him for dirt cheap ($200K). 25 Y/O Paraguayan prospect with KILLER speed (93/93).
Subs:
Jose Vidal, CM, 57 OVR. 16 Y/O from Argentina through the scout system.
Sergio Alvarez, CM, 55 OVR. Same as above.
Samuel Geoffroy Camille, LB, 69. The Frenchy looking to retire. Still a solid guy off the bench.
Hector Verdes, CB, 63 OVR. 31 Y/O Spain dude will fill in for the starters from time to time.
Dani Ponce, LM, 60 OVR. Somewhat promising 24 Y/O from Spain. Not sure what to make of him yet. Hasn't showed me enough in the time he's been given.
Jose Miguel, CAM, 58 OVR. 17 Y/O from Argentina through the scout system actually filled in as a striker late last season and held his end of the bargain. Promising.
Jose Manuel, CM, 54 OVR. Yet another 16 Y/O kid from Argentina.
Reserves:
Raul Parrela, KG, 51 OVR. Freshly signed off my youth squad, 16 Y/O Brazilian I hope to develop.
Nagore, RB, 66 OVR. Recently replaced as the starting RB.
Angel, LB, 67 OVR. Can play as a LB or LM. The 33 Y/O dude from Spain is still an asset.
Alexander Wlazlowski, CAM, 48 OVR. I got burned going for one of those guys who is advertised as a bright young upcoming star. I went all the way to Poland to get this 18 Y/O who is no better than my own youth talent ...
Ruben Sanz, CM, 54 OVR. 35 Y/O from Spain is just a fill-in at this point.
Vicente Lavado and Luciano Couto: 49 OVR CAM's from Brazil that I hoped to get out on loan but will just have to mix into the rotation here and there.
A lot of this youth I was forced to sign last season with absolutely no depth. I also have Fabiao Pauleta, a 17 Y/O CAM who was the very first youth I brought in. He did very well for me as a 47 OVR and he's now 51 OVR and out on loan at Portsmouth.
I'd appreciate some feedback
My lineup remains the same except that Iribas was injured for a bit so I played Vidal (not that one, a youth player from Argentina) there and I think the kid is really ready to be in the starting XI. However, I need him at RM since he's too damn short to play CDM. You'd think that means Lopez is out but he's actually been playing really well and - as I've come to realize he's slower than my grandma - I think he fits best at CAM where Javito is aging. However, until I can move Javito (64 OVR) I will have to continue to bring Vidal (59 OVR) off the bench.
I'm currently holding on to 1st place thanks to a 9/2/1 record with 22 GF and 6 GA (+16 GD). Here's the top 10:
1. Alcorcon - 9/2/1, +16, 29pts
2. Osasuna - 8/2/2, +20, 26pts
3. RM Castilla - 8/2/2, +15, 26pts
4. Almeria - 7/4/1/, +15, 25pts
5. Barcelona B - 7/2/3, +8, 23pts
6. Levante - 5/7/0, +7, 22pts
7. Espanyol - 5/6/1, +10, 21pts
8. Real Murcia - 6/3/3/, +6, 21pts
9. Granada, 5/3/4, +4, 18pts
10. Ponferradina, 5/3/4, +1, 18pts
Gaona Lugo came out of the gates ON FIRE scoring 6 goals in the first few games, but he has cooled off since and is currently tied for second with six others, behind Thievy from Espanyol who has 7 goals. Beleck only has 3 goals but is tied for a league-best 4 assists. My defense has really met my expectations so far and I've had no drama early on. My main subs are Vidal, Miguel, Dani Ponce, and Alvarez.
Although I enjoyed the success I was able to obtain in that last transfer window, I currently have less than $75K in new transfer budget and less than $1,500 in new wage budget (splitting my budget evenly), so it looks like I may not be able to get much done in this January transfer window. I'm trying to loan my youngsters and unload Javito, but not sure what else is there. I currently have scouts out in Italy and Colombia for my youth squad and I'm putting the cutoff on potential at 80 OVR, meaning there are currently 6 kids out of the 16 in my squad that will either be cut or promoted.
Any advice on the transfer budget stuff? Should I just ask for money again? I've been rejected every time. January will be pretty close to my 1-year anniversary with the team.vrabbit

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
You should be able to get some more funds for this window. But if you have been turned down a couple times already be careful. Wait until the window starts, and then save. After that request an amount and see what they say. If it is too much and they refuse reload and go smaller. I only say this because I think if they say no 3 times you won't be able to request any after that.Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Hey Guys I am new to this forum and this is my first post but i have been reading this for about 2 months and i really enjoy what i read. So i thought why not i post once
I decided to do a new career with Man C. But not the usual one where u can buy just about anything. I removed all the good players from them making them a very weak team. I havent yet decided should they be in the prem or fl. Anyway i set myself some rules so that i dont come back to the top easily
1) I have to sell all my players above tha age of 22.
2) I can buy players only of age 22 or Lower
3) I cant buy anyone for more than 20m
4) If i get an offer for a player that is 10m more than his value, i have to sell him
5) These are applicable till 10 seasons
Tell me if you would like more updates and also if you want me to be in the prem or fl championship(i dont really like lower leagues so forgive me if i decide to stay in the BPL)
(By the way as soon as i got into the mode i checked where silva, nasri, aguero and kompany were. They werent in the free agents but were in Real Madrid!)Last edited by Ani292000; 06-17-2014, 01:51 PM.Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
So Guys i finally decided to start my Man C career as promised
The Plot:-
Manchester City FC owner Shaikh Mansour has been penalised for breaching the FFP rules. The club has been forced to terminate the contracts of all their players over the age of 22. They struggled to appoint a new manager but in the end found their man in Anirudh Murali from india. Even though he is relatively inexpirienced his family has been in football management since years. Ani as he is known, aspires to bring the club back to what it was using the youth players and the funds he has effectively with the limitations. Ani has said he will have his first press conference before his match against Newcastle where he will discuss his team in detail.
Reporter:Good evening Mr. Ani. How are you feeling before your first match as Man C manager?
Me : I feel great because ever since i have heard about this teams problems it really started to pain me. I decided to take this offer because i felt i have to help them by some way.
Him: What are your goals?
Me:Overall i want make them the team they were. This season i want to somehow take them to Europe.
Him: Have you confirmed any transfers and who are you looking to buy in order to improve the team?
Me: We have confirmed the deals to bring in Ter Stegen for about 20m and Draxler for 20m. We have also bought in Victor Andrade and Luis Muriel to bloster attack and Jese Rodriguez along with Nabil Bentaleb in defence.
Him:Anymore expected signings?
Me: Yes. In fact we are looking to sign about 3-4 new players. A deal to bring casmeiro on loan is being worked. We would also like to bring Bruma on loan. We are also in the hunt for a new right back and a central mid.
Him: Keep in mind you have to do this in under 20m per player.
Me: Yes ill take care of that, I remember.
Him: Will the new signings start against Newcastle?
Me: No questions about my team.
Him: Thank You for your time. Best of luck against Newcastle
After We Beat Newcastle 3-0
Reporter: What an excellent performance! You must be happy?
Me: Yes i am extremely delighted with the way they performed. If this carries on we might very well end up in the Champions League as Newcastle is a very good team.
Him: Who were the stars today?
Me: Obviously it was new signings Draxler and Jese as well as our captain Marcos Lopes.
Him: Any Transfers confirmed?
Me: Yes. Many actually. We have signed ward prowse for 9m and casmeiro on loan. We also got Bruma on loan and Clyne for 7m.
Him: Do you think you need to improve this squad anymore?
Me: Not really. They are ready to compete and im sure all these talented gems i have got will work well together.
Him: Do you expect immediate results?
Me: No because its a really young team and they will take time.
Him: Thanks for your time.Last edited by Ani292000; 06-17-2014, 02:34 PM.Comment

Sounds very similar to a career mode idea I posted a while ago but decided to discontinue. Look forward to seeing how you do considering I didn't enjoy my own career with this idea.Comment

AFC Wimbledon - Up and At 'Em!
August Results
AFC Wimbledon 1 - 0 MK Dons
Mansfield Town 1 - 4 AFC Wimbledon (Capital One Cup)
Preston North End 2 - 2 AFC Wimbledon
AFC Wimbledon 3 - 0 Notts County
Bradford City 0 - 1 AFC Wimbledon
Tranmere Rovers 0 - 1 AFC Wimbledon (J. Paint Trophy)
AFC Wimbledon 3 - 0 Charlton Athletic
AFC Wimbledon have not lost an official match since February but they were very close to losing that streak against Preston North End. Wimbledon were chasing the match the whole game until the 86th minute when Jack Midson tied the game at 2-2 with an outstanding diving header. The biggest surprise has been the match against Charlton who were in first place when the match occurred. The scoreline wasn't the only surprise, but also the game in general. Charlton were not able to get a single shot on goal and were simply outplayed as the possession stats show. AFC Wimbledon have shown from the get go that they mean business. Danny Kedwell is currently the team's top scorer with 3 goals in 5 matches.
Football League 1
1. Huddersfield - 13 points
2. AFC Wimbledon - 13 points
3. Charlton Athletic - 12 points
4. Shrewsbury - 11 points
5. Leyton Orient - 10 points
6. Coventry City - 10 points
Top Scorer: Jarvis (Portsmouth) 5 goals
Transfer Activity
As Chavez had mentioned before, Wimbledon's transfer activity would be kept at a minimum. Bogdan Mitrea is the only addition to the club, without counting Kedwell and Jolley who agreed to join last season. Mitrea was without a club and has come in to give Wimbledon some much needed depth in the centre back position.
Darren Jones was transfer listed and sold to Peterborough for a fee of $120,000.
The League 2 top scorer, Danny Hylton, was rumored to be leaving Wimbledon after the signings of Kedell and Jolley, and the rumor was true. Hylton has been sold to Yeovil Town for a fee of $500,000.
It is said that Wimbledon is currently completing job interviews for youth scouts.
Does Tarik Çamdal have his days counted at Wimbledon?
The 23 year old from Turkey joined Wimbledon last season and is currently the highest paid player in the squad. Naturally a RB, Çamdal has been used exclusively as a RM by Chavez and has shown to be inconsistent. Since his signing with Wimbledon, Çamdal has also lost his spot in the Turkey National Team. He had also lost his spot in Wimbledon's starting 11 to Max Clayton by the end of last season, but fortunately for him Clayton had to return to Crewe Alexandria. In the past few games he has really elevated his form, but he will need to show more if he plans to remain at Wimbledon and ultimately return to the Turkey national team.Comment

3 of those 4 matches were really difficult. Bilbao is a great high table team, Atletico is too 3, and the only reason you lost to Betis is because morale was low after the defeat to Atletico lolComment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Not a problem! Not sure if it makes a difference, but I prefer using "Team Pressing" (From D-Pad up menu) than "high pressure" (From D-Pad down menu). In fact, the only thing I use from the D pad down menu is "possession." I prefer using the tactics from the D pad up menu.Comment
