How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

Mid-September Update
AFC Wimbledon have confirmed the hiring of two new youth scouts. It is reported that Marcus Wihlborg from Sweden (2*/2*) will stay in England to scout for youth in all positions while Michael Flanagan from England (1*/1*) will travel to Chavez's home country of Mexico in search of a striker. Parks and football fields in Wimbledon have been packed with young players since this announcement, most likely because players now know that Marcus Wihlborg could be watching them play at any given time.
Mid-September Matches
AFC Wimbledon 2 - 0 Oxford United (Capital One Cup)
Two headed goals from Charlie Sheringham allowed Wimbledon to pass to the next round where they will face championship side Middlesbrough. Wimbledon were very successful in the cup last season reaching the semifinals and will no doubt want to improve their record this year.
Port Vale 1 - 1 AFC Wimbledon
A match that was dominated by Wimbledon but they simply weren't able to score. Wimbledon LCB Aaron Morris from Wales opened the scoreline after scoring in his own net. Morris tried to control a cross with his chest but unfortunately put it inside his own net. Jack Midson was able to tie the game in the second half, but after that Wimbledon was not able to break the Port Vale goalkeeper.
AFC Wimbledon 2 - 1 Chesterfield
It appeared that Wimbledon would lost their unbeaten streak this match, after Chesterfield defender and captain Eviatt scored in the 5th minute of the first half from a corner. Danny Kedwell tied the match at minute 62, and Tyler Harvey scored a late goal at minute 86 to give Wimbledon the lead. Chesterfield's 4-2-3-1 has proven to be a difficult rival for Chavez since the Football League 2, and had the manager on his toes the whole match.
Football League 1 Table
1. Huddersfield - 19 points
2. AFC Wimbledon - 17 points
3. Charlton Athletic - 16 points
4. Brentford - 13 points
5. Coventry City - 12 points
6. Shrewsbury - 12 points
----------
21. Notts County - 6 points
22. Carlisle United - 5 points
23. Walsall - 4 points
24. Oldham Athletic - 3 points
Chavez has used two different lineups this season, a 5-4-1 for league matches, and an alternate, slightly weaker 4-4-2 Diamond for mid-week matches and cup matches. Both lineups are completely different, keeping the whole squad satisfied with their game time. This is the main lineup Chavez has used so far this season: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1403140176.130279.jpg

Final September Update

One of the biggest surprises this season as bottom table side Oldham solidly defeated Wimbledon who were battling for the 1st place of the table. Oldham also became the first team to defeat AFC Wimbledon in an official match since Crystal Palace in February.

D. Graham (43') - MID
J. Midson (51') & D. Kedwell (66') - WIM
AFC Wimbledon 1 - 1 Brentford
D. Kedwell (8') - WIM
Fillon (81' PEN) - BRE
Stevenage 0 - 0 AFC Wimbledon
Football League 1 Table
1. Huddersfield - 26 points
2. Charlton Athletic - 25 points
3. AFC Wimbledon - 19 points
4. Portsmouth - 18 points
5. Brentford - 18 points
6. Shrewsbury - 18 points
----------

22. Colchester - 8 points
23. Walsall - 6 points
24. Carlisle United - 5 points
Final September News
AFC Wimbledon have been recognized by FIFA to officially be a 2 star team. When Chavez initially took over, Wimbledon were only rated as a 1 star team.
Tarik Çamdal has really stepped up his game and looks a lot more comfortable as a RM now, frequently taking defenders one on one and crossing it in. He currently leads the team in assists, with 4 assists in 8 games.
Danny Kedwell has proven his signing was the correct one, as he is currently the team's top scorer with 6 goals in 9 matches. On the other hand, Christian Jolley has really failed to impress, and has only 1 goal in 13 matches. In his defense, he has not made a single start as a lone striker. The only matches he's started as a striker have been as a duo with Charlie Sheringham, where Jolley acts as the distributor while Sheringham assumes the role of a target man. Jolley has made most of his appearances as a wide midfielder.
In other news, Chavez has rejected offers from India and Peru to manage their national teams. He currently has offers from New Zealand and Paraguay which he has not answered yet.

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
The unbeaten streak is over!
Looked like rough month after the run you had been on. Bright side is that you laid down a chance to start a new run haha.
On another note I was hoping to put out an update for my career last night and got to the point where I had a Copa Del Rey game as the last match of the month and told myself okay one more, then update, and then sleep.
Well, after that match I advanced to the next round and they scheduled the first leg for the last day of he monthLast edited by texasbum06; 06-19-2014, 08:43 AM.Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
AD Alcorcon's board is cheap as F#&K!
I asked for $4 million. NO.
I asked for $3 million. NO.
I asked for $2 million. NO.
How the hell am I supposed to make any moves? I'm gonna have to pull something out of my behind!
In other news, I'm starting see some openings in the FLC that would pay me more than 3 times what I'm making now. I'm assuming they better you do in your career the better opportunities that become available? I wanna see this through at AD Alcorcon. I enjoy the struggle. On that note, Spain offered to resign me but I stalled and got a call from the motherland - Venezuela - so I'll be coaching them now. Spain media reported fans were disappointed. I have friendlies vs. Denmark and Ivory Coast before WC qualifiers against Uruguay and Peru.Last edited by vrabbit; 06-19-2014, 12:28 PM.vrabbit

I know what a disappointment! They parked the bus from the get-go and took advantage of their opportunities. I was shocked the whole match because this is a low table team. Should've known not to underestimate the underdog :/
I was surprised to see you haven't updated actually. Good luck in the cup, get some prize monies!Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Firstly, sorry for not posting for days on end. I've been having some trouble with FIFA. Basically it stopped working and wouldn't boot up. However I fixed the game and it is now working. Hopefully it will stay that way. So that's the good news. However there is also bad news. To fix the game, I had to clear everything off of the game. All my career modes etc. Therefore I have lost the Cardiff City Career Mode and am going to start from scratch yet again. I am pondering a career mode with Yeovil Town, my local side. I think they would be fun to do a CM with. Also, I will be using the 30% Transfer budget increase, along with the 5* scout. Hopefully this career mode will be fun and if I enjoy it then I will post later tonight probably. If not, I'll post later on this week about future plans. Thanks for your patience with me, I hope you all enjoy this career mode.Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Oh and I ended up drawing Real Madrid. Figured I'd put it here since I just put scores and goals and don't do game recaps. It was at the Bernabéu so it was a great result. I opened the scoring first off a corner. I headed it but it was hit weak and kind of up, and then weird stuff happened I think their defenders ran into each other or something haha and it ended up bouncing in some how. Then Falcao hit in back to back headers. Equalized it with a nice shot after that only for them to take the lead again. 90th minute I played the ball ahead down the left side and took it all the way to the end line in the box and crossed it on the ground across the face of the goal and it found the foot of one of my players who was tightly marked to end the game in a draw at 3-3.
One of the more exciting games I've played.
Man those are the best games! Heart pumping for the full 90 and I bet you celebrated that last goal yourself. Even more pressure now for the 2nd leg. You have the 3 away goals, a tie or a win is all you need!Comment

Damn that sucks! Glad you could get that fixed though. Yeovil Town is a good choice since you'll have Adam Morgan. I tried to sign him myself but he's way out of my budget. He did really well for me last year with Leeds thoughComment

I did advance in the cup though to the quarter finals now. I can't remember my opponent off the top of my head, just that it isn't either Madrid team or Barcelona haha.Comment

Wollscheid would be great for depth. Don't know what season you're in, but he's growing and still young. With that 6'4" height andSpoiler88Spoiler88Spoiler86
Here are his top stats:
crossing 88
long passing 86
short passing 85
ball control 85
vision 84
dribbling 82
Note: these stats are from "futhead.com" Preito may have declined in the point of the career you are in.
Thanks for all the stats on Wollscheid, I've only a few games left in the 2013/14 season so it was a big help.
On a unrelated subject I've decided to do 2 updates before the World Cup with Germany. Should post the next one at the weekend.Comment

Season analysis
Not a bad season at all. We achieved the main goal the board set us, which was to gain automatic promotion. There was a point between the middle of April and the final game where we were top of the table and could have won the division, but the lack of a result on the final day worked against us. Still, a highly successful season despite the poor cup runs.
Budget for the 2014-15 Premier League season is a measly £5.5 million with £25K in wages. Buckley and Bridcutt are my highest valued players, but they're going nowhere. Anyone matching my £6 million valuation of Ulloa can have him, since I already have Bendtner and play one striker. I'll also be selling David Lopez to free up £15K in wages.
Signings will primarily be players on loan, free agents and cut-price deals. I will try to spend as little as possible so I can begin building my academy from this season. Among the players on my shortlist are:
• GK Alphonse Areola: France/PSG
• GK Kepa Arrizabalaga: Spain/Athletic Bilbao
• CB Alessio Romagnoli: Italy/Roma
• CB Marc Muniesa: Spain/Stoke
• RB Jon Flanagan: England Liverpool
• CM Pedro Azogue: Bolivia/free agent
• CAM Abdul Razak: Cote d'Ivoire/Man. City
• LW Txomin Barcina: Spain/R. Sociedad
• LW Scott Sinclair: England/Man. City
• RW Serge Gnabry: Germany/Arsenal
• ST Danny Ings: England/Burnley
• ST Jordan Rhodes: Scotland/BlackburnLast edited by indiblue; 06-22-2014, 02:41 PM.Comment
