Great start to the season! Very strong XI too, what's your bench like? What season are you in now? 3 or 4?

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

Hello everyone. Not many people might recognise me as I am pretty new to this thread.

Firstly, I have to say that I am really enjoying everyone's career modes! I especially enjoy lower league CM's! I guess it is because it feels so much more rewarding (In my opinion) to bring a bunch of players and improve the squad and mould it into something that is truely your own.

I am considering on doing a CM on here but I would like to ask something:
Can you choose a team that someone else is already doing?

Thanks! My substitutes are a 71 overall youth academy keeper, 80-rated Ginter, 75-rated Schulz, Halilovic, a 76 overall youth academy CAM, 82-rated Berardi and Ben Yedder who is 78 overall. Nothing too special but they are good substitutes.

I'm in the 2017-18 season and that's the fourth season. The Hertha career won't continue for too much after this season, there will be maybe one or two seasons after that. Then I'll swap teams in the career or I'll start a League 2 career.

Welcome! It's nice to get new additions to the thread. Hopefully you'll post good and interesting updates!

You should ask the guy who is doing a career with that team first but usually it's fine to start a career with a team that is being used.

            Thank you

I will try my best to make sure that my posts are as interesting as possible. I'm also working on adding certain things to add in my posts that no one else has done! But if i'm missing something important then please tell me.

Before I get ahead of myself, I will mention that it might take a month or two for me to actually have some time to post on here as I am very busy and I expect to be for some time. But as soon as that is over, i will try and regularly post my CM updates.

FML. My star academy player at Alcorcon, Zeshin Yamura, is officially a little bitch.

Last season he asked for me to look at his wages, I did and he said he wasn't sure if he wanted to be here long term. I waited it out, was patient and he eventually agreed to stay.

This season, while negotiation someone else's contract I offered Yamura an extension by mistake. AGAIN he gave me the same speech, not sure about extending, bla bla bla. AGAIN he agreed to stay. Now, out of nowhere, towards the end of January he cold-bloodedly tells me he wants out in this window. He's a star. He's gonna reach 90+ OVR, look at his ratings:

Now I have to figure out how to replace him in my lineup. No way I can continue to compete in La Liga, Copa Del Rey, and Champions without someone of his level.

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

Okay, quick question. I'm getting massive offers for Nathan Redmond and Gueida Fofana (upwards of £30 million), and I think what might a glitched one for Fabian Delph (£60 million from Stoke post-takeover), or that might just be a newly rich club splurging. Whatever. Point is, do you think I should gut the team and build a new one, or continue with who I have while making improvements. I'm really keen to keep Redmond for at least another season, but I also feel it'd be unfair to keep him from playing for Barcelona or Juventus. I guess I don't need to sell since I can afford wages easily now that I'm a top-four side, and I don't really need that much cash, but even Atletico was torn apart after winning their title, and you really can't resist the call of a club such as PSG or Chelsea. Thoughts?

Welcome, Cabee. I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy yourself here, we're all very obsessed with this game as you can see. As for your career, I recommend picking a team you like. Even if it's a duplicate, you'll do things differently, which makes it unique to you.

Obviously you'd pocket a significant chunk of money by selling him. I'd estimate it to be upwards of $50 million. That should buy you a midfielder of that quality without much issue. The only sticking point might be wages. Alternatively, pocket the cash and save it, then buy him back in the summer.

If you like them and they are important for the team you will reject the deal. If you like them but you are tempted by the money then you counter offer a lot but not too much, maybe 10 million more than the chief executive suggests. If you don't like them then you just sell them for what the chief executive says. The decision is yours. I would keep at least Redmond in the team and make him like the hero of the series who is always there with you, a bit like Del Piero, Buffon, Giggs or Puyol. If you like team as it is then leave it.

If you still have control over the board I have two suggestions for you: 1) Reject all offers and raise his salary after you get money from the Champions League or 2) Put him on the loan list for a short loan and then recall him when the transfer window ends. That sucks a lot, though.

I have already decided on which team I am doing but i'm not sure whether or not to keep it a mystery or not....

Not a bad bench at all. Nice going with sticking with them for 4 seasons! League 2 CMs are fun, you don't have as high a quality player or budget making it more challenging and ultimately more fun! I'm really enjoying my Wycombe one right now.

Redmonds been playing amazing for you so I'd try my best to hold onto him if ya can. But if ya get a massive offer then maybe it's better to sell and buy 1-3 quality players in his place? Ultimately it's your choice in the end.

                          Sent To Coventry
                          Season 3
                          FIFA 15

                          Match 15

                          Everton 2-1 Coventry
                          Gibson 7
                          Nouble 86
                          Lukaku 89

The scoring was opened early on this game with a powerful finish into the top corner by Gibson on the turn. Nouble got an equaliser late on, taking the ball down with a great first touch before curling in to give us what we thought would be a point. However, a low ball in was badly cleared and Lukaku was able to smash into the far corner to give Everton all 3 points.

                          Match 16

                          Manchester City 2-2 Coventry
                          Fleck 13 (PEN)
                          Cavani 45
                          Cavani 79
                          Fleck 83

Fleck opened the scoring in this match with a penalty after Nouble was brought down in the box after cutting inside. The game then became the David Marshall show, making 9 saves in the first half until Fleck made a royal hash of a clearance that dropped to Cavani to knock in. Marshall then continued his brilliant saving routine until Cavani managed to curl in to give City a deserved lead. However Fleck was able to equalise, beating his man with a good piece of skill before curling in. In the 90th minute, Nouble forced a rare save from Hart that almost gave us a remarkably undeserved win.

                          Match 17

                          Coventry 1-2 Liverpool
                          Sturridge 11
                          Suso 38
                          Agard 84

Sturridge battered our defence in this game, cutting inside and curling in before Suso made it 2, making a great run in behind our defence to get on the ball and slot in. For the rest of the game, we were trying to stay in it and Agard was able to curl in after running clear but it was too little, too late.

                          Match 18

                          Coventry 2-2 Spurs
                          Huws 18
                          Stambouli 35
                          Huws 45
                          Adebayor 57

Huws scored twice in this match, curling in beyond the keeper the first time and heading in from a corner for the second, either side of a Stambouli thunderbolt from 12 yards after shrugging off the defender. Adebayor equalised, smashing into the top corner from the edge of the box and we couldn't get the lead again.

                          Match 19

                          Stoke 0-3 Coventry
                          Fleck 64
                          Huws 74
                          Agard 77

In a dull first half against our local rivals, it looked like the match would remain that way after the start of the second half. However, Fleck was able to curl into the bottom corner which sparked something in our team. A quick free kick to find Huws in open space it the box to curl in while Stoke were still getting ready made it 2. Minutes later, Agard smashed in after a wonderful ball over the top by Huws.

                          Match 20

                          Coventry 1-1 West Ham
                          Hughes 52
                          Carroll 90

Hughes opened the scoring in this match with an incredible 30 yard strike in off the post into the top corner. However we struggled to break down the West Ham defence and we dropped 2 points when Carroll stroked in at the far post to get an equaliser of the last match of 2016.

Sorry, not been here for a while and a lot has happened so I have a lot of things to address that will not be quoted due to complete laziness on my part :P

@indiblue- First of all let me get right down to business. I'm absolutely loving your updates. Congratulations on winning the league with West Brom! Unlucky in the Champions League and FA Cup but there's always next year. However a believe that leads me on to my next point. I do agree with your pitch about the signing less superstars, I'm doing it in my Coventry career and Clyne is a crucial part of my Liverpool team, and he's hardly the best right back in the world. However, to consistently challenge in all competitions and win the treble, I agree with Simp. I personally would go with a mix, the superstars moulded in with your team. Which leads me on to your final question. Firstly, I would say if you want to get that treble, sell Delph for that 60 million. You can get a world class centre mid with that who might just be the difference. Keep Redmond if you want to, I assume he is like the Buckley of this career mode. Fofana would be a 50:50 for me. I'd counter offer at his highest value if I were you.

@Simppu- Great start to the season. I like how you didn't go crazy with the spending and bought someone who fits the role perfectly, even at his lower overall. As I said, I agree with you in parts about the high spending.

@vrabbit- Thank you for the positive feedback and also, that sucks about Yamura. Try and keep him but I'm sure you can get some great money for him to get someone of equal quality in your team

@10cabee- Welcome. You can use a team that is already used but it is recommended to ask whoever is using it first. We will usually say yes though

@Keano16- Loving Wycombe. It's going well for you and it's going well for me as it is something enjoyable to read.

@AdamJones113- What a nice graphic. Thumbs up from me

@Cruzerr- Love it. MK Dons was always on my list but I was to scared of what Chico would do to me :P, your'e a braver man than I. No in all seriousness, the amount of time you put into your updates really shows from the quality

My personal preference is signing no names as Indi said. In my Wimbledon career, I signed Jacob Murphy in my first season (League 2) at 56 overall. A couple game time months ago (now in Season 6), he became my first player to break into the 80s. The feeling of achievement having a player grow with you like that is incomparable, unless it is with a youth academy player. Despite his 80+ overall, he is not my best player on the field. In fact, if I had to rank my starting 11 he'd be on the bottom half of that list. My star player, as many of you already know, is Terry Gornell who has surpassed his 65 potential and is currently 75 or 76 overall. He's the current top goal scorer in the BPL barely ahead of Cavani and Mandzukic. I see him and Murphy as a prime example of how misleading overall stats can be. I too, like Indi, focus more on individual stats when I am looking for transfer targets rather than looking at overall. It definitely takes more time, which is why it takes me a long time to advance through the transfer window months, but it is well worth it in the end. Indeed I have not won the treble with my no-name, youth academy, and only-UK players, but when I do, I will feel more accomplished knowing I created this squad from scratch and each of those players are identified with this club.

Both points of views in this debate are good and true. This is only my personal preference.
This is what I am doing in my CD Lugo CM. Right now near the end of second season. I am slowly transitioning this team from all my youth academy players. I still have about seven or eight players left to sell off or not resign. We have been fairly competitive trying to secure a spot in the Europa league championships. We are fifth in La Liga.
