hmm, I'd say:

Maintaining a powerhouse (Taking a top club)
Making the next step (Taking a club just outside of the elite range)
Return to glory (Rebuilding an old power)
Road to glory (bringing a lower league team to the top)
globetrotter (constantly switching clubs)
Youth Academy (Build a team of youth players)

Trying to think of more but coming up blank for now.

All I'm going to say is I'm going to have a tough challenge with Betis this year with all the new Categories they're basing your stability on. At the start I'm going to have to spend little money and rely heavily on my youth setup(I'm kinda looking forward to that btw) I'm hoping for at least a top half finish in La Liga and a Quarterfinal CDR run minimum in my first season. I'm actually considering turning off the first window in this CM because I want to test the squad.

I haven't but as you guys know I did play the beta, my main conclusion is I'll need to mess with sliders to see if I can get the gameplay I'm looking for before I back it or blast it. I'm not crazy about the new PK system. One major positive was (the return of) the ability to switch to a player closer to a loose ball which has been a major gripe for me in '16. That was big. I do dig the small additions to CM (coaches, added in-game stats, expectations) but I wasn't blown away by it and didn't get to play it as much as I would had liked.

I was highly disappointed that the computer continued to pass the ball like they were Barca even though I was testing the game with a League 2 CM ....

Jean Zimmer's (Right Back, 73 Ovr, 26 Years Old) contract ran out and he is a free agent now.

Arianit Ferati, Attacking Midfielder, 72 Ovr, 1-year-loan to FSV Frankfurt

The 22-year-old attacking midfielder isn't good enough to get regular playing time for us, which is why a loan was the option for him.

Jan Kliment, Striker, 74 Ovr, 1-year-loan to Union Berlin

Kliment has some potential in him, but like in Ferati's case, he isn't good enough to get a lot of game time with us.

Hany Mukhtar, Attacking Midfielder, 75 Ovr, 1-year-loan to RB Leipzig

A couple of signings in Mukhtar's position assured that his playing time would decrease even more from last season. Mukhtar still shows potential, though, and we didn't want to sell him.

Christian Pulisic, Left Winger, 75 Ovr, 1-year-loan to Fortuna Düsseldorf

Same reasons as above.

Tobias Kempe, Right Midfielder, 74 Ovr, €3,800,000 to Borussia Mönchengladbach

Kempe was a good squad player for us, but I felt like he could achieve more at another club where he would get a bigger role. Borussia came and matched our price request, and we wish Kempe all the best.

Nemanja Nikolic, Striker, 76 Ovr, €8,200,000 to Werder Bremen

The 30-year-old Hungarian was a very effective substitute striker for us, but his age has started taking its toll on him. To make matters worse for him, we signed a couple of strikers, which meant that Nikolic wasn't needed anymore.

Bobby Wood, Striker, 76 Ovr, €8,500,000 to FC Schalke 04

Wood was never able to adjust to playing in the top tier of German football, and his goalscoring records remained very disappointing. After a couple of disappointing years it was time to part our ways.

The Moroccan attacking midfielder had an average last season for us and I was happy to sell him for a fee which was around €16M higher than his market value.

Marccelino's squad succeeded in getting an edge in possession (58%) but Man U was still able to create more scoring opportunities.

It was close but Allan Saint-Maximin was just onside on this pass from Clark Gordon to sprint towards the goal and open up the scoring.

An Exiles' corner kick was headed out by Everton in front of the box where Gordon shielded off his defender, controlled the ball with his back to the goal, turned around on his right and ran towards the box beating his defender to the edge of it at which point he fired a crossing shot the Everton goalkeeper had no chance against, and this was how the Newport County academy product made his submission for goal of the week. Unfortunately for Marccelino's squad Lukaku proved reminded them he's a threat to score at any time and the Belgian striker equalized the score just before stoppage time.

In just his second game back from injury Thierry Ambrose showed he's still a different maker for The Exiles as his score in the 75th minute would be the difference in this game. Newport County has no business winning games against opponents like Schalke on the road but the German club, the current Euro League champs, has gotten off to a rough start in this tournament and now has two losses after three games.

Playing just two days after a road game in Germany, Marccelino opted for his B-squad in this game and nearly stole three points on the road if their 10 shots (5 on goal) would have resulted in more than just one goal, or if Troy Deeney hadn't wrapped up a fine game with a goal he was hungry for after bowing out of the F.A. Cup final last season in just 8 minutes due to injury. All things considered this was a positive result for The Exiles although Newport County has to hate seeing one of their brightest young stars, who had gotten off to such a great start this season, go down with injury for three months. Ringdal Støvland should be back for the last 2-3 months of the season and hopefully he can pick up where he left off.

The Exiles put together a complete game on both ends of the pitch to dispose of Everton and continue to move on in their quest to win the C.O.C. An early goal from Ince, in the right place at the right time following a Gordon shot that had been saved, helped give Newport County an early edge and then Bill Hamid performed an outstanding sequence in the 21st minute, first stopping a header just a couple of feet away from him, directing it to his left where the rebound would be hit hard by Ross Barkley but also saved by Hamid who directed the ball up and to his right at which point he hustled across the goal to swap the ball completely away from any dangerous area. This would turn out to be Everton's clearest change to score in the game.

Analysis: The Exiles remain in 14th place in the standings after three consecutive 1-1 draws in BPL play. They led in each of those games before eventually giving up equalizers and you just get the sense this squad is on the verge of starting to shock some clubs in the league and make a move up the table. That sense is undoubtedly aided by the club's form in the Euro League and the Capital One Cup, tournaments in which they continue to do very well. Newport County now leads their group in the Euro League midway through the group stages and have also advanced to the quarter finals of the C.O.C. following a gritty win over Everton. Another way to describe this month for Marccelino's squad is by stating that they went undefeated, which is particularly impressive considering the bad news they received on Yasir Al Shahrani at the beginning of the month and that their best striker only returned from injury towards the end of the month while the lad replacing him also went down with a serious injury. Again, this squad seems on the verge of making a move up the standings but we'll see if some of these breaks starting going their way.

The Academy

ST - Liam Taylor (52 OVR, 80-90 POT): This 16-year old from England is making his case for top prospect in the academy. He has grown to 5'7" and 154lbs yet is still young and physically strong, and projects as the best striker prospect in the academy since RS' promotion a couple of years ago.

LB - Jeff Cohen (57 OVR, 80-86): This 17-year old from England doesn't seem to have the pace for this position so he may be worked out at CB to make use of his 6'1", 167lbs frame.

RB - Willem Van Hout (60 OVR, 79-85): The 17-year old from Belgium has spent over 18 months in the academy and shown notable progress over last season, therefore he's likely to be promoted at some point this season. Van Hout doesn't possess the pace the team would like at the position but Marccelino is keeping more of an open mind when it comes to that after watching Fernandes play.

RB - Márcio Souza (57 OVR, 79-85): 16-year old from Brazil who may be tried at CB if his pace doesn't develop properly. Standing at 5'10", 176lbs at the moment, he should grow into a good size for a central defender.

CDM - Daniel Amaral (55 OVR), 78-84): 16-year old from Brazil whose signing is starting to be recognized as Newport County is making a habit of pumping out exciting prospects at this position. For that same reason though, Amaral is unlikely to be rushed to promotion to the senior roster.

RB - Miguel De Mesquites (52 OVR, 74-82): 17-year old from Brazil who is a fullback/centreback prospect as a result of his 6'2", 167lbs frame. He's still very raw and needs to work consistently on his defensive game.

ST - Sean Hugill (47 OVR, 76-84): This 17-year old from England has everyone's attention in the academy with his 6'5", 185lbs frame. He's a very enticing prospect for the club if he can be developed quickly.

CAM - Eduard Cardenas (50 OVR, 69-81): One of the most recent additions to the academy is this 17-year old from Brazil described as a playmaker. He's still a very raw prospect so it'll be important for him to make the most out of his time in the academy.

CF - Jordan Davies (42 OVR, 68-80): 15-year old from England described as physically strong at a very young age. He may not be more than a backup in the future but the team was happy to add some local talent at the position.

It'll be just five games for The Exiles in November leading off against the league leaders and then facing two teams chasing Marccelino's squad. Newport County want to have a good showing against Tottenham but also make sure they prove they're ahead of Swansea and Stoke for good reason. When the month is over they will also have a firm grasp on whether they'll be moving on past the group stage in the Euro League but they have certainly put themselves in good position to accomplish that at this point.

There's a noticeable difference in talent between these two rosters and it showed as league-leading Tottenham dominated this game from beginning to end. The highlight of the game was provided by Nacer Chadli who executed a free kick so flawlessly in the 60th minute even Gordon Banks would had been helpless against it.

Talk about instant impact. Academy product Hikaru Ichigawa was subbed into the game for Rohan Ince in the 70th minute and promptly score what would be the game-winning goal following a nifty setup from Allan Saint-Maximin and The Exiles took an important step towards winning Group G of the Euro League. The Austrian visitors arguably outplayed Newport County on this night at Rodney Parade but Marccelino's squad was able to overcome the early goal by Anel Hadžić to secure the 3 points.

This was a long time coming. The Exiles had been playing excellent football over their last few games and they finally broke out for a big win, on the road nonetheless, and Bill Hamid earned his first clean sheet in the BPL. Newport County was as dominant as the score suggests, keeping pressure on Kristoffer Nordfeldt's goal all game long as they put 8 or their 9 shots on target.

ON FIRE. The Exiles followed up their four-goal game with three more goals, this time at Rodney Parade where Bill Hamid also collected his second consecutive clean sheet in league play. Coincidentally the club's first two clean sheets of the season have taken place following Sebastian Vegas insertion into the lineup replacing Luan who had been struggling all season (though in fairness Vegas' first game back in the starting lineup was in the 0-3 loss to Tottenham). On the other end of the pitch Clark Gordon continued doing Clark Gordon things:

Franco Di Santo found the football on a rebound off the crossbar, Hamid out of sight after the Exiles' goalkeeper had tried to save a shot from his left side, and the Argentinian striker put the ball at the back of the net in the 90th minute to keep the defending Euro League champions alive in this season's competition. Markus Weinzierl's squad needed to win this game and their desperation showed as they managed to outplay Newport County at Rodney Parade (52% possession, 11 shots). For Marccelino's squad this was a missed opportunity as the draw would had clinched a spot into the Round of 32 for them, and they will now head into the last game of the group stage still at the top of their group but with the possibility of missing out on the elimination round completely.

That has to be the conclusion after a 3-game winning streak in which they scored 9 goals, two of those wins helping them make a move up the standings in the BPL where Newport County has an opportunity to be in the top half of the table at the end of the week 14. While Marccelino's squad understandably has not been able to take the BPL by storm the way they did the lower levels of the English Football League, they have shown that they more than belong in arguably the best football league in the world and they're starting to make the move up the table to show it. If they can keep up their rise they may start putting some pressure on the top teams on the table for a spot into European competition next season. As far as European competition this season Newport County failed to secure a spot into the Round of 32 ahead of their last game in the group stage but they remained at the top of their group which leaves them with a good chance to accomplish the objective set for them by their board this season (which is to reach the quarter finals).

Two final notes for this recap: 1) confirmation that Brazilian defender Luan has been demoted to the B-squad and replaced by Sebastian Vegas in the main squad. This is a result of both Luan's struggles so far this season (average game rating below 6.2) and Vegas' improved form in his appearances (mostly with the B-squad) this season in comparison to a difficult first year in England a season ago after his move from Chile. 2) Welcome back Thierry Ambrose! The star French striker for The Exiles returned midway through last month and scored in just his second game off the injury list and looked back in top form in November currently carrying a four-game scoring streak. Definitely a sight for sore Exiles' fans eyes.

The Academy

ST - Liam Taylor (53 OVR, 81-87 POT): This 16-year old from England has officially been listed as the top prospect in the academy. He currently stands at 5'7" and 154lbs yet is still young and physically strong, and projects as the best striker prospect in the academy since RS' promotion a couple of years ago.

LB - Jeff Cohen (58 OVR, 80-86): This 17-year old from England doesn't seem to have the pace for this position so he may be worked out at CB to make use of his 6'1", 167lbs frame.

RB - Willem Van Hout (61 OVR, 79-85): The 17-year old from Belgium has spent over 18 months in the academy and shown notable progress over last season, therefore he's likely to be promoted at some point this season. Van Hout doesn't possess the pace the team would like at the position but Marccelino is keeping more of an open mind when it comes to that after watching Fernandes play.

RB - Márcio Souza (57 OVR, 79-85): 16-year old from Brazil who may be tried at CB if his pace doesn't develop properly. Standing at 5'10", 176lbs at the moment, he should grow into a good size for a central defender.

CDM - Daniel Amaral (55 OVR), 78-84): 16-year old from Brazil whose signing is starting to be recognized as Newport County is making a habit of pumping out exciting prospects at this position. For that same reason though, Amaral is unlikely to be rushed to promotion to the senior roster.

ST - Sean Hugill (48 OVR, 77-83): This 17-year old from England is a very enticing prospect for the club who is developing well. His top traits are his aggression (79) and jumping (78) which couple with his 6'5", 185lbs frame make him a potential nightmare for opposing defenses.

RB - Miguel De Mesquites (53 OVR, 75-81): 17-year old from Brazil who is a fullback/centreback prospect as a result of his 6'2", 167lbs frame. He's still very raw and needs to work consistently on his defensive game.

CAM - Eduard Cardenas (50 OVR, 72-80): One of the most recent additions to the academy is this 17-year old from Brazil described as a playmaker. He's still a very raw prospect so it'll be important for him to make the most out of his time in the academy.

CF - Jordan Davies (43 OVR, 72-80): 15-year old from England described as physically strong at a very young age. He may not be more than a backup in the future but the team was happy to add some local talent at the position.
