Anyone else watch 18 beta footage and just start thinking of sliders adjustments?

I know it's super early, but there are a lot of concerns.

Yup looks like a typical mess from EA . They say teams play with their strengths and styles , I have yet to see any of that . Maybe I've only seen human vs human idk. Also the ball actually looks even smaller in 18 . At least to me it does . I'm very worried for you and the rest of the team who fix this disaster each year . I've actually heard a rumor that they may take out sliders from the game . Im sure it's bull**** but Thats a scary thought

Have you not been playing the beta Matt? I have for 6 days now but not officially allowed to talk about it yet. All I will say is it has concerns and also potential. Have we all thought that before [emoji23].

Yeah they aren't supposed to say anything.

Very concerning if the ball is even smaller. Lol, is that even possible!?!?

Maybe I'm being a little bit dramatic that it's smaller lol but it definitely doesn't look bigger or better from 17 . check out YouTube videos with fifa 18 gameplay , theres tons out now and have a look . I personally think its small and very unrealistic looking

Seriously if they did that they would lose millions, and I could see PES sales exploding. They would be left with FUT players only, but sadly that is their real cash cow. Fingers crossed it is not true!

Absolutely agree . I'm sure it's not true , but nevertheless a real scary thought .

It's a pity, but at least Villa is being honest, a lot out there are uploading the beta footage - I can't wait to see them moaning on various forums about having their accounts closed down

Regarding ball size, like most things they do, EA excel at making things worse than they were before.

Yep I have 2 days left to play it before my cruise so I'll keep quiet for now. I'm sure some will have had their access rescinded due to broadcasting it.

No, I didn't receive an invite - at least I don't think I did, lol. Doubtful. Eitherway, I've been paying attention to positioning and it looks good, but the problem is those runs off the ball, which equals more dribbling, or more direct passing. Pretty much the same thing forever now.

In a sense I'll be relieved to be...relieved of my duties...but still, it will be a very sad, idiotic and stupid thing for them to do. Yet they won't lose a dime. Which is the risk you take when wanting a sim game out of FIFA. It's like going outside in the rain and wondering why your hair is wet.

I know I got into with a youtuber last year and he was just straight up...obtuse about it. I am not sure what OPTIONS hurt his playing experience. Downright idiotic, but what can you do.

Which is the risk you take when wanting a sim game out of FIFA. It's like going outside in the rain and wondering why your hair is wet

....and that about sums it up. It sould be put as a disclaimer in every OP on the Community thread for the rest of time.

Matt, I don't remember what set of yours I used, but they have made my FIFA 17 experience a good one this year. I think I made a one click adjustment to pace, but other than that, I left everything as was posted. Good stuff. I'm hopeful that you keep it going with FIFA 18, if needed. Just wanted to show some love for your efforts to improve the game.

Final episode of Youth Squad Champions, had to revise the goal of the series to qualifying for the Champions League - couldn't fit another season in with FIFA 18 looming!

Thanks again to all who've watched and commented, and a big thanks to Matt10 and co. who's sliders made the series much more realistic (and exciting) to play!

It's been a blast but would I play PCM in FIFA 18...not if they don't address the many issues with this mode!

I know FIFA 17 time is winding down but I wanted to share my experience from a game I just played with these Sliders. It's probably game #200 but this may be the most fun game I've played. I set up a replay of the France - Netherlands game the other day. Same lineups and all, despite no Stade De Frances so I played at Parc de Princes. If people didn't see the game the other day France absolutely dominated so I wanted to see how it went in FIFA.

I played as the Dutch. Basically every game I play I'm Chelsea so I don't embrace the role of being outplayed. In this game it was nice being on the opposite side. It felt exactly how the game on Thursday was played. I hung on for dear life. I was clearing balls nonstop. Anyway I scored the first goal of the game. I broke away and Umtiti fouled Sjneider in the box, which I ended up scoring on with Robben.

France tied it up early in the 2nd half. From there on it was just survive. Pogba, Lemar, and Grizmann were insane. Their foot skills and quickness made it hard to stay with them. Anyway I survived to the end of FT at 1-1. I decided to play classic OT. France scores in the first session after what seemed like 100 chances. Then in the last 5 minutes of ET I broke away from a defender with Wjinadlum down the side and sent a cross into the box. Lloris punched it out but it went right to Sjneider who was probably 20 feet outside the box and I took the shot immediately knowing Lloris was out of his net. Sure enough the shot hits the outside of Pogba's knee and deflects into the bottom left corner of the net. Had it not been deflected it wouldn't have gone in and would have hit Lloris dead on. We end up tying and I won in PK's 4-3.

The game just felt so life like. The atmosphere from the fans in the match was super awesome too. I just wasn't expecting how good the chants and reaction from the fans on events during the match were going to be. France ended up with 22 shots on net and 41 attempts. I checked the stats on the real life match the other day and France had 13 on net with 20 attempts. Extra Time definitely inflated the shot totals in the game I played so shots were extremely close to real life. The only difference is I was able to draw and win in PK's, where as the Dutch lost 4 rip.

Anyway, just wanted to share my experience. I had a blast with this game for some reason and what's funny is it was the first game I hadn't used CTT's for in ages. Probably one of the best games I've actually played on FIFA 17 honestly.
