How do you feel about your teammate AI? I feel this years is a lot better so far. Was able to make some nice runs and teammates actually hit me quite a few times on them!
Teammate AI is great this year! I was a little worried about the CPU AI not taking enough chances but it must have just been a few weird games. These sliders are great, but the MARKING slider needs to be carefully tuned when doing Player Lock. It has a dramatic affect on our gameplay in terms of shots and chances. I have it currently at 60 and it looks ok but needs more testing. Having it at 78 wasn't giving both teams enough offense.

What do you have your marking setting currently at? And how many shots are you getting for both teams?

Can you post an updated slider set which clearly shows settings for both user/cpu please?

Just use the official set 2 for now. Nothing has been updated yet, still testing.

There is a spoiler above with the tweaks in testing if you wish to try them too.

Re: FIFA 17 OS Community Sliders

Hey guys, like every year following sliders quite silently.

One thing i did notice however and which interests me in particular in relation to the seemingly toothless offense of the CPU: are you guys playing with tactical or legacy defending?
I can't for the life of me defend with tactical, however it seems that the CPU struggles enormously with the pressure you can put on while defending on legacy. I tried 1-2 games with tactical just to test it, and obviously i started conceding badly, but hard to say if it is the lack of my tactical defending abilities (definitely part of it) or the CPU reacting differently (maybe).
I might be mistaken, but as far as i recall, last year the whole slider community was somewhat divided between both options.
What are your thoughts on that?

Curious if the community consensus is 15 min halves? I don't think I've ever played higher than 10 min halves but maybe I should up it to 15 min this year?

Hoping to get a few Portsmouth BaP matches in tonight...hope to report back tomorrow.

Am i missing too much playing on default controllers??
Currently i'm using everything in default (assisted and crossing on semi) except shooting at semi, 10 min halves, should i change something to adapt to that?
I really can't play with all on manual/semi, i'm too bad at it and i'm really don't like missing a 5 meter pass just because i missed slighty in the direction

My solution isn't practically appliable to sliders, as in regards to finetuning sliders i have to humbly confess my utter ignorance, hence give due recognition to those who excel in this field.

On numerous occasions i have intended to demonstrate, and could continue to [demonstrate] by means of footage, how the AI is effectively programmed to adjust itself entirely to your style of play.

Hence, every single condition or blatant injustice of the game all of us highlight, lament or condemn (rightly so) is subject to human input first.

This makes the whole collective discussion around the amount of fouls, shots, offsides rather pointless, because the AI will adopt a different (even ever so slightly different) approach in adaptation to every single human player's unique approach to the game.

This is why there could never be made a set of sliders that would apply perfectly equally to every human user, as the AI is programmed to function much like a trainer that adjusts its competence in accordance with the level of quality of the player it is toying with.

So there's different levels to this shiet; legendary difficulty being experienced by some as much more difficult than others, even when working with the exact same set of sliders.

The ''solution'' i've been proposing, which definitely doesn't fix certain glaring issues which seem permanently unfixable, lest we fluck up the programming badly so as to disable the AI players from taking advantage of our most basic flaws, is to work on our weaknesses first before we go crazy on the slider adaptations, (which is not to totally condemn this work, of course, as it is clearly needed to some extent), because the AI will always start to play more realistically and exploit our weaknesses less terrifically, once we finetune our own defensive organization first.

A lot of visibly unrealistic moves and decision by the AI are directly influenced by the lack of realisim inherent to how i've seen most people defend. (i.e. continually dragging one man quite far removed from the ball out of place, instead of repetitively shifting the cursor to the man which each time is closest to the ball, as it should be done, objectively observed)

I know 15 min halves are longer games, but players get more tired.

Only played one game with set 2 (didn´t have time for more) but the first thing i noticed was the speed, it seemed so fast that i actually got out of the game to make sure i was using slow difficulty and not normal.

Personnaly, i will probably do a couple of personal tweaks to set 2, namely a higher run frequency and higher pass speed. Not by much, just a little.

Obviously not a lot of fouls or shots in the first match. Stingy D on both parts. I was able to get a late goal (75' I believe) from Aubameyang to take the lead. Disappointed in lack of fouls called--but the game felt good, in general. There were zero TERRIBLE crosses (like--into the stands). Not sure why (seemingly?) so many of you are seeing horrible crosses...?

2nd match was a lot of end to end action. They were pressing a ton, as I scored early and I felt like they were trying super hard to steal possession, often to a fault, as I was able to thread their D to the tune of a first half hat trick from Aubameyang. I was clearly the more skilled team and was able to dominate not only the score, but also possession. 15' halves suck when you're roasting them, lol.

I can't really think of anything negative to add...
A couple of injury notes on these two games...

The first game in which the CPU had 2 injuries, 1 player had to come out, and one was able to stay in. I checked postgame and he was out for 6 weeks I believe.

In the 2nd game Bartra got injured first half but was able to stay in. I subbed him at halftime (precautionary) and he was out 5 days.

I then simmed to the BVB v FCB match which is mid/late Nov., as I wanted to see if it really felt like I was playing a superior opponent. I can happily report that it did . I also wanted to check on league-wide injuries through November, and no team had more than 2 injuries--most of which were minor. So, with that said--and this is a small sample size, I think 50/50 needs some tweaking for CPU.

I'm thinking the same. In the past, I like human pass speed slightly above default; helps give manual passing some zip. Only tried it @55 for one game, but I'll stick with it for now.
