Re: FIFA 22 OS Community Sliders

I think the sliders are very solid!! This games plays leaps and bounds better than 21. I play on PS4. Do y’all prefer a zoomed in camera or a further away one? I love being able to see the whole field at all times. But I also feel like I shoot much better when the camera is more zoomed in. I just made the jump to semi shooting and in all honesty it’s kicking my butt. Any advice would be appreciated. Right now I’m playing on co op camera with my power meter set to 70 like preferred. Anyone recommended a different camera angle or any tips on getting more shots on goal not saying more goals just more shots on goal. So many times I’ve been unmarked in box in crucial moments and I would have completely missed the target if there was three goals set up next to each other. I’m really enjoying this game and this community is the real deal.

Try Default with 10 Height 0 Zoom. You might like that.

The issue I have with this is someone tells someone to post what you've got, and they post an entire set. Everything about FIFA is all relative. A difference of 1 point can be significant. The problem with full sets posted is the question of 'what are we solving for' gets lost.

For example, I'm trying to 55 width, and have switched back and forth to 45, 50 and 52, but am also trying 65. The game plays differently. What am I solving for? The deep defensive line and their interaction in how far apart or narrow they get depending on the ball's position. If someone posts a Sprint 5/5 and an acceleration of 51/51, that 65 width may play completely different.

Could that be a thing? Or is this patch related? I don't remember it being as obvious and as many instances of this pre patch and width at 48. I'll play more tonight and try and give some more isolated feedback.
I think the concept of width is basically what we feared it to be, which the defensive line benefits more, but we then suffer with the midfielders running into eachother, reducing passing lanes. So it's about which to sacrifice in this case.

With that said, we're exploring other width values to see some trigger points. The main focus is the defensive line and in the situations where they drop back - how badly it gets. Also trying to mitigate the CB jockeying. Ironic that the deep defensive line would be welcomed in chasing an attacker, but not so much when faced up with a midfielder.

There are things I think cause the game to be played in a way that I think isn't authentic to how football looks on the pitch, I changed them. They're just a base. It is extraordinarily unlikely for them to work perfectly for every single person in the same way.
Exactly. I like a more compact line because I think that reflects the modern game more so I instead of changing the width with the last set I will likely reduce it a little more. I think that reflects modern soccer more. Plus that seems to stop the CPU long shots.

Plus people don't get that the way you play and pass will affect how the game responds to you.
1000 people will have the game respond to them in 1000 different ways. For me a more compact line makes the game play beautifully. The middle of the field never seems cluttered up or even compacted because it is reacting perfectly to how I play to make it fair and challenging.

In this case YOU are the center of the game and the sliders affect your experience.

Will definitely give this a go!! Thanks brother!! Just curious what is your power meter set to? Mine is 70 but I changed it to that maybe 5 days ago. I’ve always played with it at 50. So I know that I’m probably holding the button to long as I’m use to 50 and all that extra power is not helping me be more accurate with my shots. But I also understand 70 power meter because with 50 there are a lot of situations where you will not be able to get your shot off with a slower power meter. Just curious and eager to learn anything from way more experienced FIFA players. Only been playing for less than a year.

Is there any workaround with the keepers? Will drastically increasing their slider help or is the problem something sliders won't fix?

I think the confusing part on tweaking sliders for me is I've seen comments which say changing one thing can break another or cause a new issue so I'm reluctant to mess things up. I hope maybe keepers could be improved though.

In terms of the CB jogging, like I said, this didn't go away. It was just slightly better, but not by much. I've tried default sliders, our sliders with default sprint/acc and marking - just a whole host of combinations. This isn't the patch that inadvertently fixes this. The bigger issue is how little resistance is it that some of you are beating teams so easily? That tells me there's a resistance that's not there - or a gameplay style that's different. I believe it's the first, but I haven't seen it to that level of domination.

I'll have some things to test with the feedback in mind. While I haven't put it in the rules, if you could include the team + difficulty, it'd help us recreate - and isolate - some things a bit better. I really appreciate the feedback and understanding that we're still in Work in Progress mode here - especially with a patch that just came out.
The pass speed is one of the most jarring things I'm noticing, through no fault of yours or anyone else testing though. 40/40 and the CPU plays tiqui-taca and pings the ball around in an unrealistic manner. 40/30 and like I said, the CPU regularly scuffs really simple passes as if they're playing on sand rather than grass which allows the user to make easy and unrealistic interceptions. I don't know what the solution is. This also applies to shooting, though to a lesser degree. You want the CPU to make human mistakes like misplaced passes and wayward shots occasionally but not to the extent where they're fluffing their lines in really easy situations when they should be hitting the target or under-hitting passes to a teammate within 10 yards of them.

The game feels much better than 21 and these sliders are fantastic as always to make the game feel more realistic but the pass speed is just one of those Goldilocks "too hot; too cold" sliders where getting the value perfect is a challenge.

Maybe it's time to test ultimate difficulty? has anyone tried already?

I think the main reason no one is doing ultimate sliders is because ultimate difficulty makes every player on every team a 99 overall. So if that’s the case you would just play the exact same game/team every time.

I've heard from many people that this is not applied for CM but only for squad battles in UT.

Played around 6 matches.....but for the love of god can someone help me with the biggest problem ? I can really work out things like pace speed etc . But how the heck do I stop my defenders from just retreating with back steps till the opponent simply reaches like my goal line !!!players like Ramos are so soft and passive it makes no sense and it takes the whole immersion away.every game I played me defenders keep retreating like it's the only thing they know ....set marking user 100 no result.make the whole tactics to be as aggressive as it gets ....still no progress...is this something that can be done about it ?

Lots of comments to this effect and it’s baffling to me because I am not seeing it AT ALL. I feel like there must be a play style issue here. I switch to control the player that is/should be addressing the ball at all times. I try to stop AI run outs bu slowing the ball, if beaten with a pass I switch to the next most likely to stop the run out, etc. when AI possesses the ball and passes it around, again I switch to the player best positioned to address the ball. I have not seen passive defenders at all, I’m fact I see many more blocks and misdirected passes in this game vs earlier versions. Matt or others, what do you think about play style impacting experience with 22?

Dunno rly.i play d on the ball as well but most of times I feel like I have to do everything to play right defense .cut the runs ,close gaps ,switch to players on ball, bring midfielders lower the pitch to cover , switch to my wide backs to press opposition wingers ...etc . If I don't do things like that my players just keep retreating....the defensive line is like they are unaware of the ball...and like they are marking opponent players in space .they seem to trigger only when the player they mark are like a meter away carrying the ball ...it's the only scenario defenders wake up and play defense ....midfielders are on another game in terms of defending ....they are just trying to cover space and thats it.....

I have been banging on about this for years.

FIFA has a type of adaptive AI. If you go gung ho at 100mph so will they.

Whenever I kick off I play the ball back through all the players and to the GK. Slow boring start sets the tone and pace perfectly

Every now and then I stop, turn, play it backwards. Sometimes just stop still with the ball completely. Sometimes just play it across the backline a couple of times, play it back to the keeper and everything kind of resets a lot of the time.

Maybe it is all in my head but whenever the game starts getting too frantic. I slow down and the AI does too.

Also to draw fouls slow down when a defender approaches and then sprint through the tackle. Quite often results in a trip.
