I just had the exact same experience as others describe here and it majorly affects every aspect of the gameplay in such a way that the sliders almost seem irrelevant in the first place.
Played this afternoon, game felt fine. Then turned it on at night and it's like someone replaced FC24 with FIFA 11 while I was gone. Deleted settings and DLC, no difference.
It just doesn't resemble the launch version of itself in the slightest. Where physicality, team tactics etc. actually meant something and battles for possession and tiny deflections actually led to fun, realistic situations. Where I could concede a goal and be like "I absolutely loved that, that was sick".
I'm not sure what's more frustrating, the "run-pass-pass-run-pass" sad version of the gameplay, or the fact that there seems to be two versions of the game existing right now and no-one seems to really understand why this occurs or how it can be fixed. Even when the game runs normally, placebo sometimes kicks in and I start questioning whether it's playing fine or not...
Sorry for venting, but this community is the only place that understands the frustration and might actually be able to do something about it too.
I noticed DoctorActionRio actually getting a response from EA regarding lack of match intros and why they chose to remove them. Could we potentially raise this issue as well? For example request that the offline community gets the same option as in NHL series of selecting which gameplay version to play? It's a long shot but this current state of things is a bit of a mess.
