If we import the EU version to the US, what about the patches though ? Will we have to log on to a EU account to dl them ? Or can we dl them at all ?

Last year at least, Konami did all their patches through their in-game interface as opposed to through the PS3 interface. i.e., in PES you went to Settings and then there was a Download section. So, whichever version you buy, it will connect to the appropriate Konami servers to check for an update.

I think there was also a patch soon after release via the PS3 interface, and I don't believe I had to sign into my Euro account for it to be picked up.

Someone might have to correct me on this, but I believe that 360 option files aren't region coded, so it is possible to use a UK file on your US 360.

I've heard the same...is that true?

Also, how do PS3 OF's compare to 360's OF's?

Last year i went with the euro version, but i wound up getting the PC version and the mods were amazing. I would get the pc version if that was an option for you, then get the euro version. Btw i never play online.

For those that order the EU version, how much does standard overseas shipping run?

My current plan is to hold off on PES for a while (we'll see how that goes) and make a decision after I see how the option files shape up. I assume it will take some time for a decent file to surface anyways, so that could make the wait somewhat more tolerable. I'm looking at PES as mainly an offline game, so I'm not too concerned with any online issues have the Euro version might present.

Speaking of which, is it true NA and Euro users can't play each other? Seems odd as I've run across plenty of Brits when playing FIFA random OTP...

I'm not sure of the exact shipping cost but I purchased the UK PS3 version last year & have pre-ordered it again this year, and the total cost including shipping has been right around $55-$56.

All of the work done so far on the WENB OF (largely JackWhoBRA's work) is easily portable to the US/NAmerican version of the game. We're basically talking about PNGs here; nothing fancy.

I'm thinking of getting the JAPANESE version....since in past winning elevens, it included a 6th difficulty above top player, superstar level I believe. It could make the ball posession stats a lot closer and better games in general.

I saw at playasia.com that the release date is the 18th of october with a price of 90 dollars. Before making this purchase, I hope to hear impressions from others who have it and hopefull they say it's a more challening game than PES, like in past years.

Mine "Despatched" from Sendit.com yesterday too. For those of you on the east coast...keep us updated on when you get it...gives me an idea how much longer it may take to get to me.
