Should I get PES on XBOX or PS3?

I have been away from video games for a couple of years, and miss PES badly...

I will have to buy a new console...which one is better for PES?

I am not exactly trying to start a console argument, but non-PES related problems/perks are welcome...

Gameplay wise they are the same, graphic wise they are about the same. IMO the 360 is a little crisper due to the AA.

Option file wise the 360 is the way to go, takes about a couple minutes to do while the PS3 I believe is file by file.

True that ps3 is file by file, but it is more supported by Option File makers, at least for now. So you will see a bit more variety on ps3. I do wish the transfer of files was a batch process though.

From what I've seen, though, just about anything you want in terms of option files you can get on either console. In terms of sheer variety of all those options, it's PS3, though. However, I have yet to see one league in an option file on only one system. I could be wrong, though. I just finally got back into PES after a few years off.

Our man connoll hooked it up with an MLS file for ps3 only. Excellent file and ps3 exclusive. The european leagues on the file are top notch as well.

            Hey. That's me.

For a long time, it was a no-brainer to go for PES on the PS3. Since the game's built in Japan, there's always been a bias towards Sony (the game only showed up on XBox/360 a few years ago). Partly as a result of this, the editing community is more mature on the PS3 side of things, so there tend to be more/better editing options (ie, 'option files').

However, while I don't pay too close attention to what's going on with the 360, there seem to be a couple of good option files for that platform this time around.

So, bottom line, I think that you can hook yourself up with a decent option file on either platform this year. Your best bet is to browse over in the PES 2011 option file section of PESGaming for a feel of what's available on both:

If you go PS3, you might want to import a UK version of the game... more OF choices by far. Unless you want to use connoll3's MLS file, which I believe is US-only. 360 OFs are not region specific (right?), so if you go that route you don't have to worry about ordering it from overseas.

Is there any possible easy way to make your file for 360, other than building it from the ground up? I'm curious, clearly.

Not that I know of, unfortunately. You'd probably have to start from scratch.

                    I think i will go PS3, then...

was already leaning that way for the MLB series, the BluRay player, and my slight preference for their controller...

I do like the 360's price point, though...

                    thanks for all the info!

I think right when PES came out PS3 was the way to go option file wise. But so many months after launch the 360 has a strong selection of option files with Daymos releasing his Bundesliga file sometime soon.

Ive had both incl a uk version last yr but this time i went w the pc version. The option files are too good to pass up including a fifa commentary swap & full 2nd divisions, custom adboards, etc.
