If he gets a break from all the matches he'll be playing. Not many Mom and Pops where I'm at, but I found a video game store that isn't GameStop or EB Games, so I'm going to give it a go. Generally, how does one ask about an early release while making it sound as normal as possible? I could be wrong, but me asking some stranger, hey are you releasing it early is less likely to get me the game than if I set it up before asking.

    Any ideas/tips?

If it's not a gamestop or EB games or major retailer, you have a good chance that they'll sell early. Just call them up and ask if they are getting it this week. The spots around my area are used to it. Around Madden or NBA 2k release, they answer the phone by saying "Yeah, we have it"..... before you even say anything. lol

That, and they do seem to have some issues with long shots. I don't know if it's supposed to be simulating not seeing the ball due to players blocking their view, but they could certainly react faster on shots on goal from outside the box.

Just played a match with Wigan (me) vs Barcalona. Wasn't too thrilled with what I saw...

            Wigan - Barcelona
            1 - 2 Score
            (5)7 - 18 (10) Shots
            (0)9 - 6(1) Fouls
            31 - 26 Interceptions
            53 - 47 Possession

Now obviously, its only one game, but I've been getting this possession feeling in almost every game I've played. I wanted to test it out with a little bit more extreme of a talent difference.

              Just played another great match,

It was a 1-1 draw between Spurs and Inter.

Modric got his head on a corner kick in the 4th minute to eek it into the far corner of the goal. Inter answered back with a screamer of a goal off a deflection and poor defensive mishap and I missed some late opportunities with Defoe before time was called.

I'm really loving the footwork with the ball this year. The edges aren't a given this year either. Last year it was one feint and I was off to the races with Bale, but now I find myself having to work it back to the middle and let the CPU make a run which is refreshing.

I normal cases your possession should be looking like 40-60 the least, with the way Barca should play. No way Wigan should be winning the possession battle. Have you tried changing Barcelona's tactics?

I didn't change anything. When I went to gameplan, it had them as having the possession tactic.

Yah, I think a lot depends on the style you play if I attack too much I get my butt kicked because it leaves me open to the CPU, but I tend to like to play a possession style of game and if I am overmatched I set my style to more defensive, it is a different game than if I attack and have an offensive style. The CPU is not constantly attacking by any means, they do tend to keep moving forward but that does vary on game situation. That being said I always seem to have the edge in possession but I have had moments of frustration when the CPU has the lead and it gets late where they just play keep away with me. So in one sense I am kind of glad that the CPU doesn't control possession like it might be in a real game, because I could see it being very frustrating. I have definitely seen the CPU pass backwards and regroup but once again not as much as you would see in real life. I can understand why they would go with a little bit more of an aggressive CPU for most people it is going to make the game more exciting.

Also I seem to remember at least one gameplay patch last year, so hopefully they will address whatever issues arise, however in my view pretty solid game right now and they are never going to please everyone, and throw in skill level of the person and style of play and you could see where it would be difficult to please all.

Very true overall the game is very solid as I can see it being hard to strike that right balance. I do feel this game will bring a lot of awesome matches and I cannot wait to delve into BaL mode.

Man! This game is sheer poetry in motion.

Loving what I am seeing, this actually reminds me of the old PES.

Just hoping the online is as good as the other game now and we're set!

By the way I have a question folks.

I usually import the PAL version but this year I am getting the NA version (can't wait for this game and Option Files dont matter much to me).

My question is, how active is the online for the NA version? Apparently, the game is region locked? So NA Game = NA servers? (from what I understood from John's twitter).

Was the online very active for you guys who had PES2011 NA version? Easy to find games?

How was the lag? Or am I wrong and everyone logs in the same server regardless of versions.

I've been wondering this, too. If I play in the United States and am on USA servers, can I people around the world or am I limited to just fellow people in the U.S.?
