For me, this could be the difference between getting the game the first day it drops or maybe a few months down the road when OFs are done. Thing is, I'd probably have to go with the other game until then to satisfy my soccer-gaming hunger.

Oh and further to that: Even if I have a US version of the game and sign on to the UK/EU PSN, will it still lock me in to the US servers?
Are the servers independent of the PSN region as well? Sorry if I am dragging y'all into a rabbit hole!Comment

Same here Peruvian! I am not even in the States at the moment (working in Africa) but OFs are not a concern anymore for me, its more the online and its user base.Comment

Re: PES 2012 Demo 2 Impressions/Discussion
I haven't won a match yet but I'm not mad at it, I'm still enjoying the game. Every game I have like 55-60 % of possesion but I shoot less than my opponent but I still lose, I'm having problems entering the box. Any tips?Comment

Re: PES 2012 Demo 2 Impressions/Discussion
This game is great, BUT the computer still lacks the idea of keeping possession for the sake of keeping possession. For example, I was playing as rangers against Bayern and was able to keep the ball 65% of the time. Mind you this was on Top Player. This is simply unacceptable and unrealistic. Even if I was sitting on the ball, the computer should force me to pass into tight spaces until I lose the ball or find a scoring opportunity. Don't get me wrong the game is awesome, but this is still a glaring issue.
It will be very frustrating to play against Barcelona with a far inferior team only for me to keep possession for the majority of the time.
On top player this should NEVER happen.Comment

This is one of the smartest posts I've read in a long while. I felt this way too but didn't know how to express it.

Re: PES 2012 Demo 2 Impressions/Discussion
Yah, I think a lot depends on the style you play if I attack too much I get my butt kicked because it leaves me open to the CPU, but I tend to like to play a possession style of game and if I am overmatched I set my style to more defensive, it is a different game than if I attack and have an offensive style. The CPU is not constantly attacking by any means, they do tend to keep moving forward but that does vary on game situation. That being said I always seem to have the edge in possession but I have had moments of frustration when the CPU has the lead and it gets late where they just play keep away with me. So in one sense I am kind of glad that the CPU doesn't control possession like it might be in a real game, because I could see it being very frustrating. I have definitely seen the CPU pass backwards and regroup but once again not as much as you would see in real life. I can understand why they would go with a little bit more of an aggressive CPU for most people it is going to make the game more exciting.
Also I seem to remember at least one gameplay patch last year, so hopefully they will address whatever issues arise, however in my view pretty solid game right now and they are never going to please everyone, and throw in skill level of the person and style of play and you could see where it would be difficult to please all.
Often I'll put on a player like Mikel and just expect him to automatically function as he would in real life.Comment

Re: PES 2012 Demo 2 Impressions/Discussion
That is what I like best about this game over the years, especially in the Master League, I tend to pick an average to below average team and try to learn what they are good at and then start to add players where I feel I am weak and then add players that Match my style of play too. Learning your team and how to use them is more than half the fun for me, since I am not particularly quick with the controller.
Also just a note, when you play a season or a Master league season you get a much better feel for the game, because you have injuries, fatigue, ups and downs. Doesn't solve the possession % issue that others have mentioned but in the past has given me an better overall feel for how the game really plays.Comment

In FIFA there is more of a struggle for possession but it is only because teammates give so much space that the CPU can just dink the ball around with ease and the fact that the CPU teams rarely complete bad touches or passes.
As for PES you win more of the possession due to teams always seeming like they are on the counter, they do build up play nicely but a little too quickly as like you said they don't hold possession for the sake of it. At this point it is just up to what you can deal with and what is more fun to you.Last edited by RoyceDa59; 09-21-2011, 08:40 AM.Comment

It is like you can't win with FIFA and PES demos. As I have been playing the heck out of both of them with the time extender and they give you completely different experiences of football/soccer.
