The more I play master league, the more I don't like this game. Changing everyones tactics only masks fundamental flaws of the game. I can tell in the first 5 minutes of a game if I'm going to lose or win. Manual controls don't feel manual at all. It's a crap shoot whether my team actually uses the tactics I set. I could go on for a while. That rare game when everything works properly, it's amazing and so much fun. But for the most part, it feels like a chore. Gonna shelf it.

Re: PES 2017 Tactics
I noticed one interesting thing while I was fooling around with formations. It seems like teams press higher when you set their forwards lower when out of possession. For example you can set 4-4-2 to have very high press if you set their strikers low, midfield high and compactness low.
I guess setting strikers low puts midfielders closer to them and so the team is more aggressive or something like that.Comment

1. Teams try to defend in a compact shape nowadays and I feel defending in a spread-out formation is against the logic of modern football. Maybe in earlier times, before the rise of pressing, it was more common (I can imagine Brazil 1970, let's say, applying very passive pressure covering their own half).
2. Low compactness means not only wide, but also long defensive line. Hence when it is low, attackers of the defending team stay too far from their midfielders, and, as a side effect, provoke AI to play very directly to them as soon as it regains the ball. This adds to the very hectic/arcade pace.
For now I'm playing with minimum compactness at 4. Will see how it goes.Comment

Re: PES 2017 Tactics
I gave a shot at some of your english premier league tactics Krebstar and they are great! Just played a game me bournemouth against chelsea. It was fantastic, chelsea was really solid defensively, smartly counter attacking without the emergency feeling that exist with default tactics. They kept quite well the ball in the midfield too, trying to force my players to move out of their defensive position. Very importantly they offered a very hard opposition. I was a bit afraid that custom tactic will make cpu less dangerous but for your chelsea, it is clearly not the case. I lost this game 0-2, they were easily the better side on every compartment of the game, but they didn't rush to destroy me, they controlled the game. Let see what sample size says, but it really encouraged me to implement your others tactics.
Great job!!!
Edit: Loved Burnely too!!!
I have a very poor quality video of the games recorded here:

Re: PES 2017 Tactics
I'm planning on editing some league to match Krebstar's tactics and then making bin files for the teams. But before I begin I would like to know if some of you are planning on sharing bin files for teams you have already edited so I won't edit teams that are already done.Comment

I actually really like this years game and my only concern was that such tactics applied to AI wouldn't see them play to them as it would make a great game even better. Seems they do play to any edited instruction and it could make this game something very special indeed in the far more competitive than Exhibition or Versus ML mode. If these tactics translate well into ML then someone might as well hook up this game to my veins.Comment

Should have some more time this weekend to make serious progress at some point.Comment

Re: PES 2017 Tactics
RoyceDa59,
Very, very well done tactics. Agree with every value.
My Juventus tactics is similar to yours. I think I just used support range at 3 and compactness at 7, but that's almost the same. I also had my attacking zone to Central - with Hug the touchline activated, SMF's still provide width, while Juve's CM's like to make forward runs from central positions. However it's just a perception, need to play more.
Hope to see your other team tactics soon!Comment

Re: PES 2017 Tactics
Krebstar,
I have noticed that most (all?) your team tactics have their CF, SS, WF quite low on the team tactic sheet on possession. It doesn't seem to prevent those teams from attacking and my feeling is that it helps the team that have short pass tactics to not by pass the midfield to often.
Could you explain a bit your reasoning with these forwards rather low positioning?
On a different topic, I am trying to make Barcelona tactics, but I have hard time with it. They only seem to want to use proper tiki taka only when they have the lead and are on defensive level (blue bar). Otherwise their passing is too frantic and almost always in forward direction. The combination of aggressive pressing and gegenpress also resulted in the kind of crazy pressing we experienced in the demo. I have to say I am not sure if using conservative with gegenpress would change anything.
I will try to put picture later today of the less worst tactic I have come with for them.Last edited by papinho81; 10-06-2016, 06:42 AM.Comment

Re: PES 2017 Tactics
Not sure if I read it in this forum or another. If I update all teams with these tactics and formations will the live update throw them out of whack? Or can I simply shutoff the live update and use my edited rosters with the updated tactics? Thanks in advanceComment

Re: PES 2017 Tactics
Live update will reset formations unfortunately just turn it off for now to keep your formations.Comment
