    Re: PES 2017 Tactics

I think games in a league are much tougher than an exhibition. Heck I can even beat exhibition on SS and I'm no expert or long time player. But in a league the games get much harder as the season goes along. A cynic might suggest 'comeback code'. It certainly feels like the AI get their groove on, even lesser clubs can prove a real headache. I played Man U (me) vs Burnley (CPU) and the CPU was ping-ponging crosses at superfast speed. I could barely keep up. Also (and this may be down to my crap ability) I notice CPU tackles me easily, CPU can often out-pace my players. Many tackles in my box end up more like a rugby scrum the football. It's like pinball at times.
Still, it's hella fun to play.

      Re: PES 2017 Tactics

I have not seen too much difference in the way each team plays in my ML. I havent seen a team try to hold any sort of possession, even when winning towards the end of the game. This might be because i am Liverpool and try to press non stop, so the cpu tries to quick counter.
I have only played arsenal once, and got an early goal on them, but they didnt try at all to hold the ball. Id hate to put every team on possession, and it doesnt sound like that makes too much of a difference. Ill have to get more games in and maybe set up some scenarios to see if i can get some variation.

Anyone notice the game play differently for manual passing vs assisted? It feels like my ai teammates are more intelligent with runs and react faster when assisted is on. there is also more variety in passing (outside of the foot, back heel, etc).

unrelated: manual shooting is f'n difficult. Ive played full manual on fifa for years and got really good at it. My passing in PES is fairly accurate, but shooting...well ive scored maybe twice from straight shooting (no rebounds, deflections or other influence).
Lastly, in need of Power bar speed slider.

Professional. I struggle to score real bad with manual shooting. Otherwise I'd try and bump up the difficulty.

I've noticed, through playing BAL, that the CPU will exploit your vacated space which causes a lot of back-and-forth. When I play BAL and just control one position the game is much more possession-based and the CPU will pass back/sideways.

I'd still rather the CPU push forward more like it does now than in PES 2015 where it would pass just to pass.

I do think how you're set up greatly dictates how the CPU will play. You press and leave open areas no matter who you face? They'll exploit it. You get men behind the ball and defend? They'll hold a bit more possession.

For me this is just a weird incentive to change my tactics a bit depending on who I'm playing, or even as the match goes on.

I was working on getting Barca to play possession. Here is the bit of some of a game I recorded. It is still pretty quick passing but nice to see some passes back and them work the ball around a little.

So far have had a varied experience game to game. The cpu attacks differently just about every time. The trick is, like Kreb hinted at, keeping your dicipline on Defense. If you chase the ball, lose your shape, the CPU will just take what you give it. If you keep your shape, are smart, and xhange up your tactics to counter the CPUs team strengths you will see the CPU think and adapt.

Just using the changes from the video in the OP are huge, I think.

And fun will of course be relative to everyone.

Yup huge for me. Tried it last night in my Bayern league.

The live update wipes out your tactics.

Every single team I had fluid formation ON is now off like the game shipped.

Only change was I did the apply live update under edit tile.

                          Unbelievable.

I don't know if this has been mentioned yet bur i think the A/D levels are messed up
Because usually if the CPU is in attack they are on the orange level and as soon as they lose the ball they switch to the blue one which causes them to instantely retreat
Now that is not the case in football if i'm trying to score i am going to be more aggressive in defense as well so that means those levels should stay consistent similar to FIFA or Football Manager

Yeah this has been discussed here and on another thread. I rarely see the CPU just sit on green or go the extreme, wish we could adjust it but I don't there is any way to fix it.

It is what makes the game change depending on situations (just played Tottenham when they hit full orange in a cup game and it was insane) BUT wish it just started on green and changed depending on the situation from there. Hard to make tactics for a team that switches back and forth from the very start of the game.
