My keeper scored a last minute equaliser from a corner last night. Really annoyed me how little he celebrated. Maybe because I ran him to the corner flag, but a bit more excitement would have been appreciated

Probably a dumb question. I have my uploaded edited data. I go to start my master league and some of the rosters are not correct. Chelsea does not have Kanye. Still on LFC. What do I need to do to correct it? TIA

Re: PES 2017 Master League Chronicles

Haven't played PES or ML in 5-6 years so I started a "test ML" to familiarize myself with the gameplay and the ML again. Started in Ligue 2 (France) with Gazélec Ajaccio on Top Player difficulty. We're in the lower half of the table and I'm still trying to figure out what formation, tactics and players to play, how to attack and how to defend properly, so we're very much a work in progress at this point But I'm having a blast!

Just played our first cup game (so I haven't gotten too far into the league year yet...) against Ligue 1 team SC Bastia. In the first half we were able to keep possession (or they allowed us to keep possession I should say) but we weren't able to create a lot of chances or score any goals. But we kept a clean sheet and I was optimistic about the 2nd half...

...which was foolish. In the 2nd half SC Bastia clearly decided they were done playing nice and piled on the pressure, pinning us deep in our own half and not letting us pass the ball around at all. They kept players high up the pitch and wouldn't even allow me to take a breather by passing the ball around in my back 4. It was all about clear it or lose it (and I did lose it a few times when I desperately tried to keep possession and give my players a bit of a rest). I changed up my formation and tactics to fend off the pressure and hopefully finding an outlet for all my long ball clearances and we eventually were able to create a couple of goal scoring chances on the counter, but chasing the ball or sprinting on the counter attack all the time soon depleted my players of any stamina and just a combination of superb goalie, dumb luck and magic somehow saw us get to the penalty shootout.

Since I'm still learning the game, this was never going to end well. Bastia missed their first two but only because they put them in the middle of the goal and I didn't know how to make my goalie dive to either side But they converted their last 3 and I could only score 2 while not quite knowing what I was doing.

So, I definitely have to practice penalties! But the game in itself was so much fun! After a calm first half where I actually feared the "FIFA syndrome" where better teams are easy to beat, the 2nd half and the extra time was just a desperate attempt to keep a clean sheet and practicing clearances. The difference between Ligue 1 and 2 became very clear, which is a very good thing. Finally facing an opponent that actually forced me to change my tactics and formation and making strategic substitutions just to make it to penalties (not used to that from FIFA to say the least...!). I've never been so excited about losing before!

Re: PES 2017 Master League Chronicles

Your first youth intake you get a player from the south american ML default team. A. Lobato, who is class and an instant stgarter, espesh if playing with the default players. My fans obviously took a shine to the brazilian superstar and gave him a nickname. Il Tedesco Volante.
For those who don't know who that is, it was the nickname of Gerd Muller. It translates into "The Flying German". My fans are calling my brazilian superstar a german. Idiots.
Additionally, the call E. Castledine "The Goal Machine"...I think he's scored twice in my entire save...

Re: PES 2017 Master League Chronicles

I started my ML in Italy div.2 so I had something to strive for and wanted to work my way up. I began on normal difficulty, 9 minutes because I don't play much soccer. I chose US Latina Calcio to start, a pretty poor team with a very small budget.

Things went well as I did sign that Castledine as a FA and one other decent FA whose name I forget. Midway through the season I was in second place but getting frustrated with the poor passing of my weak club. That is when the first offers came in and all of them were for equally poor teams except one. Levanté UD in the Spanish second division.

They were in first place and had a good team but the bigger budget was the main attraction so I took the job. Their strikers were OK but not very fast or tall so I searched for a very tall CF to make the crosses to and decided on the 2m03 Lacina Traoré from the Ivory Coast. In real life he is known as the 'Gentle Giant' but I call him 'The Beast'. His combination of height, strength, jumping and heading ability saw me scoring more goals than I thought possible.
Winning became so easy that I moved up to Professional difficulty after going 7-0 with my new club. The wins just kept on coming as I ended up only losing two games the entire second half of the season, capturing the league title and 'The Beast' taking home the goal scoring title with 26!

Being a bit of a soccer noob, I forgot all about promotion/relegation and found myself moved up to div 1 with the big boys; Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid, and Barcelona. OUCH. After winning so many games on Professional I still decided to wait to make the move to Top Player because I had to face much stiffer competition now. After just a five games I was still dominating the other teams of Div 1 so I moved up to Top Player anyway.

Dumping as many old and declining players as I could via transfer, i decided to go for a youth movement and signed all the young talent I could afford. Lobato and Inaki Williams became my second strikers to feed the ball to 'The Beast' and I also boosted my midfield and backfield with a few upgrades. Overall I had a very successful season, finishing fourth behind the big three thanks to a league high 14 draws during the season. Traoré also scored 24 goals for second place behind Suarez showing the power of the cross to header mechanic in PES. I even managed to win or draw a few games against the best teams so things were looking good. I also took the job of managing England and through a series of really close games I took home the World Cup title! It was not easy as I had to knock off France on penalty kicks 2-2,(5-4) to make it to the final, and then beat Spain 2-1 in extra time, barely avoiding PKs again.

The offseason saw more housecleaning of the aging players and a move to coach Holland on the international scene. What started as a team of mostly 72-78 rated players was soon filled with 75-81 rated starters. Not many of the original team remains but with a team chemistry of 85-90, lots of young stars, and a youth team filling up with some rebirthed superstars, Levante is in great shape. I'm currently tied for first at the halfway point of the season and just eliminated Barcelona from the Spanish Cup to make it to the final 8 teams. I plan on moving up to Superstar difficulty soon since my record of 14W-7D-1L is a bit too good. Scoring is very close though and with all the draws I could just as easily have 8 losses. Oh, and my team made it through the group stage of the Champions League (barely) and has a tough road ahead there as probably THE weakest team.

Overall, I am having a BLAST in ML and am excited to see how my third season pans out. I've also turned down offers from Atletico Madrid once and Real Madrid THREE times and just won World Manager of the Year!

I'm having trouble settling on a team. I've started a couple Fulham MLs and a Newcastle one but I'm just frustrated as hell with my inability to score. Does anyone have a recommendation for a Championship team?

I intended to take a team in the Championship and get them to the Premiership but maybe I should just take a power team in the Prem until I get a better feel for the game.

I started with Fulham as well. The first thing I did was go out and get a striker with some upside. I got Janssen from Tottenham Hotspur. He's been magical for me.

There are also two players Fulham has on loan from Chelsea, Piazon (LW who ill sub in as a LMF or SS) and Kalas who's a CB. Both have made strides for me in my ML.

I think I lost the first 8 games I played but I probably have 16 or so points from the next 8, so I'd suggest sticking with a team and getting a feel for them. Fulham you definitely need to spend some time letting the players mesh because the team spirit is pretty low from the start.
