Re: PES 2017 Player Style, Preferred Position,Player Ability and Tactical Advice

Video I made last night of Chelsea vs West Ham using Papinho tactics (with a couple of modifications). The start of the video shows what player cards and styles I gave to both teams. I played as Chelsea in 1st half and West Ham in 2nd. Really fun game. Tons of battle in the midfield and great chances. Feels more PES 6 because it is really fast but still tactical. By giving players Marking ability you have way less time on the ball so you have to think faster and making the perfect pass becomes more difficult (and rewarding). Check it out and let me know what you think.

Though from what I see, the trick is to (from already awesome Papinho's and Royce's tactics) move midfield line backwards, defenders upwards, as well as to assign correct playing styles.

Then again, have you tested 4-2-3-1? If so, do you move only two defensive midfielders close to defenders, or also wide midfielders at some degree? Or should they be left high and wide?
        Take a look https://www.evo-web.co.uk/threads/mo...b-added.77141/
And i need a favour from you Tinker, can you put the screen about CL and EL teams and also CL knockouts from your ML (Virtua Red), I would like to see if the screen posted from the maker is real or is just maked moving teams in tournament mode (modding CL partecipations, but not inside the ML)
        Thnks in advance

I don't play ML, but I could quickly "start" it at home to see if it's true

Lowered and wide in non possession and a little more centered and advanced in In possession.

Anyway the kickoff positions are also important to set the starting position of all the movement. The kickoff is the starting position and the other two are relative to IP e OP (with exceptions of strange behavior of WB)

That looked entertaining to me. I liked the fact that they were closing you down quick.

Carroll heading in the winner is pretty realistic.

I like your video, but how you can see in this screen you have 4 player inside the box, too much IMO.

The starting positions are too advanced (ever IMO ) i setted my MC in all three scheme before the mid line drawed inside the game in game planning, only the AM over that line (talking about central midfileder).
Give me a couple of hours to upload a well explained video.

Yeah, these slight changes are all subjective. I think we have a good base for how formations should work I just wanted to show how important changing player cards is to get the game to play well.

p.s. a screenshot to show that Chelsea do get quite a few men forward when they attack. haha.

Ok, really thnks to incas36 (about Serie B tacts)
HERE my tacts of Premier League teams and some others (see in the quote below), all of them are based on the starting scheme from Papinho and Royce tacts (thanks)
The changes in my starting post about Player Style positon, Ability and position IMO are required to match the real player's behaviors.

This pack is to use only with zlac tools (see here and follow the intructions) there is the importer folder and the id.txt (you have to rearrange it to match the right ID of your EDIT)
Remember to change ID for fake team (like Bayern Munich), could be different from mine.
                            I'm waiting feedback

I was surfing on the net to try finding additional information about "playing style" cards and I came across this very interesting video:

                              Spoiler

The video do not really teach us anything about what the various cards do. BUT it explains that any particular playing style card is activated only when the player is assigned to a "compatible position" in the team formation (kick off, In poss, Out poss). It might not be new to most of you but I was personally not aware about that.

For example, the Creative Playmaker style is activated if the player is given a SS or a ST role in the team formation. If you make Messi a right winger in the in poss formation of Barcelona, is creative playmaker style will be inactivated. Go to the barca formation and open its Player info, Creative Playmaker will be in grayish on the screen indicating that the style is inactive. Change him into a SS then the playying style will appear in light whight on the screen indicating it has been activated.

This could possibly (in part) explain why the offensive full back when set as SMF In poss, works better with the box-to-box playing style rather than with the offensive fullbacks (that will be deactivated).

When I edit player cards I usually take a picture of the in possession formation that I can reference so I know what Player Styles to give to them. Most of the player styles have to do with offense other than a couple. Also, sometimes there are no styles that apply to that certain player so I just leave it blank as I don't want to force them to play in a style they wouldn't normally.
