Re: PES 2018 Full Game Impressions

I really liked the demo and if this was $20 cheaper like NBA Live I would purchase but it's full price the same as FIFA. The option files also scare me I'm on ps4. I'm not technically literate at all. Very torn here..

You can return PC games? Never knew but then again I'm not a PC game.

Yes, I stated that in my OP. Better graphics but limited to option files for kits only (PS4). Correct me if I'm wrong but that's the only thing option files can add right?

Whereas PC can add stadiums, faces, constant updates etc, but the graphics won't be as good since I don't have a high end graphics card.

I think it did team and player names also. I only read that I have no idea. I want to get this game but can't justify the price as it being the same as FIFA. I thought last year the price was lowe

I can't decide whether to buy or not, I'm a purely offline career mode player so need depth in a game to make it last, fifa may not have the gameplay but the career mode is so much better that pes. That said I do like the way this plays

Straight up fouls? Or including offside as the game does in the stats?

Straight fouls. It still seems on the low side, but they aren't nonexistent.

On both Steam and EA Origin if you played under a couple hours and refund within 2 weeks after purchase you'll get a full refund. Not sure about Ubisoft's Uplay client though , never bought a game directly from it. I've refunded a few games on both Steam and Origin with each time its been a good experience and quick as well getting a confirmation E-Mail within a couple hours and about 2-3 days of getting your money back. Microsoft and Sony should incorporate that as well but its doubtful

Re: PES 2018 Full Game Impressions

Well, I guess I'm going against the grain. I picked up PES at lunch. I didn't play too much of the demo. Actually, I probably played the equivalent of one game. That's primarily because the demo didn't allow me to change the controls to FIFA's. I'm hoping it's an option in the retail version as it's been in the past year's. If it plays similar or slightly improved to last year's game, I'll be very very happy.

I really tried to like the FIFA demo (played a dozen games), but there's just something that inherently bores me with the game after just a few minutes. Maybe it's the seemingly lack of variety on the pitch or the physics of the ball. It seems less organic than PES. I've never been fond of the defensive controls either or the lack of help from my team mates.

In either case, most of my gaming time will be played against my son. So, I probably won't see all the negatives that are being pointed out. I've also read that the retail version does in fact play differently from the demo, so there's hope.

I am super disappointed! Me and a friend have been playing co-op Championship League for the last three years (PES 2016, 2017 and now 2018). I think we have been playing 250-300 matches in total.

We were both super excited for the release but now I wish I could return the game and get a refund.

Same boring/annoying commentary, same presentation, barely no fauls (we got 3 freekicks in 6 games á 13mins) no offside at all.

Maybe Konami have improved the online part a lot, I don't know, but if you play offline I suggest you to stick with Pes 2017 until you can get Pes 2018 for a much lower price. It's definitely not worth 60 euros.

I'm disappointed, I really tried going all in on PES this year but I just can't get into it. No fouls sucks, but that's not a deal breaker as FIFA has the same issues at times. But the all around gameplay is just worse I think.

If on the pitch is not way better then FIFA in the past, I'll settle for a little worse gameplay and get all the off the pitch bells and whistles that FIFA offer.

I have only played 1 game so please keep in mind my experience is very limited with the full game. One of the things I noticed was players on the CPU team were more willing to slide into tackles which I think is some what encouraging when it comes to committing fouls . While I only had 2 fouls in the game , I feel like tweaks can be made that allows players to commit more mistakes on defence and commit more fouls. I noticed people mentioned passing accuracy was too high, in my game it didn't happen. My opponent (Sporting CP) had 75% passing accuracy, while I (Benfica) had 84% passing accuracy. Granted this is only one game and without the live update so I can't say for certain if this was an anomaly or the rule. But I wanted to pass this on ASAP before leaving for work
