Go to Programs > Steam > SteamApps > common > fm12 > data > db > 1200 > Inc and delete the folder all. You will then have to start a new save for the changes to take place.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Rollin' with Barca as usual and a City save on the side. I'll discuss my Barca save first. Unlike Pep, I will be relying on youth development and avoid signing stars
In: Alphonse Areola
Out: No one yet
I'm tracking Thiago Silva as Puyol is getting up there and Muniesa and Bartra aren't quite ready for prime time. Looking at developing Thiago, Rafinha, Delofeu, Muniesa, and Martin Montoya
My City save:
Ins:
Jack Butland
Lucas Andersen
Ross Barkley
Tobias Figureido
Outs:
Carlos Tevez
Looking again to invest in youth as City already boast a strong core group. I think I'll win plenty so the goal is to maintain and developComment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I'm almost done with my first year at Manchester United and luckily, I'm on course for a treble. I crashed out of the League Cup in December against Tottenham after going down to 9-men but we managed to send that to penalties before losing.
I lost Evra and Smalling to long-term injuries and I'm only getting Rooney back now after 4 months off with a broken foot. During that time, I've had to shuffle my defense a lot (hey, just like real life) since I would always suffer injury setbacks. Chicharito, Nani and Welbeck have been great for me as they are all above 20+ goals this year with Rooney just a bit behind at 12 (with 14 assists).
I'm facing Tottenham for the FA Cup final, Barcelona for the European Cup and it's a tight race for the EPL between United, City and Arsenal. I hold a two match advantage over Arsenal and one against City and every point counts.
I've let Berbatov and Kusczak go and have been giving lots of opportunities to my promising young star, Ravel Morrison. I also have a very promising new academy player named Suleh McPherson who plays various positions up-front.
Once the year is over, I plan to upgrade a couple of my backroom staff – especially the physios and fitness coaches. I'm mostly focusing on recruiting youth and developing them from within but I'm also targeting a few established players but I've had no luck prying them away.
Real Madrid wanted to buy Nani for $40+ million during the January transfer window and I dwelled on it before deciding to tell them to back off. His agent has been badgering me for a new contract though so we'll see how I'll be able to sort this out. As is, I only consider Rooney to be indispensable and I won't wreck my wage budget just to keep certain stars. I have that Glazer debt to take care of!Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Just finished up my time in the demo and I can't get enough. It took me awhile to get used to all the depth but I really started getting the hang of it.
As soon as I get an extra 40 bucks i will definitely be purchasing the full version.#RedNationComment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I'm playing a 4-2-4 with City and while I'm scoring goals as I would expect, I gave up 3 bad goals in a friendly to a J-League side. I'll need to tweak my set piece defending as it was horrid. On a positive note, I can score at will with Aguero, Dzeko et al
Going to start my Barca pre-season. Again, not going to buy much as Barca are well stocked talent wiseComment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I'm having a great time with FM12 so far. Finished my third season in Norway with Jevnaker, had a great start to the season which made me think back to back promotions were on the cards but around the half way mark of the season we won just 1 of 10 games to sink towards lower mid table. Finished 7th and bar that bad run may well have been in the Premier League next season.
Decided to let my contract run out as with average crowds of 500 and no real transfer or wage budget to speak of it was becoming more and more difficult to get a decent squad together for next season. I really did enjoy my spell in Norway and had we gone up I think I would have stuck around for another season.
I was getting some pretty average job offers until near the end of the season when Fortuna Sittard, 17th in the Dutch Jupiler League came calling. I was delighted with this as I was hoping to manage in Holland at some point during this save.
Luckily with the season nearly over I was able to just start focusing on next season, I let a load of players leave on free transfers and brought 7 players in, mostly just for squad depth. Also got a bit lucky when Willem II came in with a $500k offer for one of my back up players who was worth a fraction of that.
I'm now halfway through my first full season and we sit 1st in the league mainly thanks to a rock solid back four and new signing Serdar Ozturk's 10 goals. Also thanks to a pretty unique playoff system i'm already confirmed in the playoffs should we fail to go up automatically.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Man, all the clubs are so greedy! The most reasonable transfer that I almost completed was for Fellaini for around $25m. Even then I lost out to PSG's contract offer.
I tried to get Hamsek and even went as high as $39m before I had enough of their ridiculous asking price of over $52m. I offered $20m for Jack Rodwell up-front and Everton counters asking for $50m+.
At this rate, I'll have to stick with my current midfield and wait for my younger guys to come through. I've been wanting to get an experienced player to replace Carrick and Giggs but these crazy transfer prices are just too much.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Off to a solid start with City. Beat United 3-1 in the Community Shield 3-1 before taking out Newcastle away by the exact same score. To round off my results, we started our home campaign with a 3-0 thrashing of Spurs which would have been even more had it not been for Gomes' heroics.
Sergio Aguero is a freaking beast. He's got 7 goals in 3 games while Balotelli and Dzeko have also been solid. Still waiting for David Silva to get going, but so far so good. The only blemish has been that Nasri got hurt while on France duty and is out for a couple of weeks.
Will post an update on my Barca save this weekendComment

I like my ManU save though. Just starting my 3rd year, but paying 75mil over 4 years for Bale. I'll sell him when my youngsters are ready (and the people on Hamachi know how well I raid France.)

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I like building witth youth so I target all the high potential youth and buy them. 1 because they're not going to be ridiculously expensive for the most part and 2 because I want to get them homegrown status by age 21 to make it less cumbersome for the CL rulesComment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I'm definitely acquiring my fair share of youth players. I just want to be able to buy some experienced good ones as well just to provide that stability and depth until the young guys are able to take over.
I just don't think it's quite right how highly priced players are. I would understand if they were wonderkids or Messi/Ronaldo status but Hamsik for $50+m? No way. Same for Rodwell.
On the flip-side, I guess the game represents quite well how over-inflated the transfer market still is.Comment
