Is it possible to use the editor to place a ban (ie Wayne Rooney's Euro ban) in an existing database? Also, I already started my international save and hadn't played the game before so I didnt know about the Germany roster issue - can you edit other national teams to fix this without starting over?

Season 3 in the books at Liverpool, and what a race it was! Final match of the season, all of the top 5 won except Chelsea, who we beat at Anfield 2-0. This allowed Spurs to jump them for the title, and the top 5 teams finish separated by 3 points! If only we could have put a goal in at Goodison Park in match 37. If that match doesn't finish 0-0, we are the champs.
We won our 2nd consecutive FA Cup and squeaked in to the Champions League. The Europa League was a major disappointment, losing to eventual runner-up Leverkusen in the quarter finals.
Star of the season was Leandro Damiao, who was brought in during the summer window for $45 million. Finished with 31 goals in all competitions, including 27 in the league to finish 1 behind golden boot winner Wayne Rooney.Last edited by ImTellinTim; 03-03-2012, 02:21 PM.Comment

Oh FFS. I went to upload Charlie Adam's 35-yard free kick goal that brought us out of 5th in the 2nd half of the Chelsea match and the game crashed.
I don't think it was saved.
Nope, it wasn't. Just lost the last match day of the year. I'm such an idiot for not saving that. Guess I'll just go on vacation and sim/reload until I'm in the CL again for next year.
Was able to replicate results after 3 tries - only difference is that Arsenal lost their match, so they have 3 less points, but are still in 5th. Close enough.Last edited by ImTellinTim; 03-03-2012, 03:00 PM.Comment

Play every game. (Except for above, lol)
You can sim by going on vacation for every match day if you wish. But your assistant gets credit for everything that happens. If you want the matches to go by quickly, just set it to the highest speed and key highlights. That takes all the fun out of in-match tactical changes, though. They are key to success.Comment

FM 2012 is my first foray into FM, and I have to say I'm loving it. I'm only interested in international management, due to time and a lack of detail needed for training/man-management etc. I picked Brazil because they aren't really playing as well in real life as I would hope, plus I wanted the challenge of taking them to win 2014. I started by downloading some tactics, but I wasn't really having much fun (or playing very well despite winning), so I started reading a lot of message boards and devising my own schemes.
I took over the U23 squad for the Olympics and I beat Spain 2-1 in Spain and thrashed Australia 5-0 in pre-Olympic friendlies. So far in the Olympics I'm 2-0 after beating New Zealand 3-0 in the opener and Great Britain 4-1. The scoreline flattered me, as I pounded them in the first 15 and last 15 and Thiago Silva scored a hat trick on 3 set pieces, giving him 4 goals for the tournament (and he's been immense on D). Loving Lucas Moura, a guy I enjoy in real life, and letting him, Neymar, Ganso and Leandro Damaio/Pato run riot.
Against the Brits, I really negated Rooney (5.2 rating) and they weren't much of a threat. Except for Walcott - he was destroying me on the left side, but I made Marcelo more of a defensive player, and limited him better in the second - his goal came off a set-piece counter where he made Rafael look foolish and beat Marcelo in a 1-on-1 battle.Attached FilesComment

My favorite is when they fire a manager for losing a group match during the World Cup. Or for losing in the semis, not even letting the manager stick around for the 3rd place match.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
LOL at fired for losing in the semis. Unfortunately I haven't had the chance to see them fire anyone yet. I'm in March 2015 now and Mano Menezes is still the headcoach despitr only winning the confederation cup
Although AVB has had his fairshare of jon changes. He's been at Chelsea (6/2011 - 11/2011; FIRED), Aston Villa (12/2011 - 11/2012; FIRED), Stoke (12/2012 - 05/2014; QUIT), Udinese (5/2014 - 11/2014; FIRED), and now Everton (11/2014 - present).ST. LOUIS RAMS FRANCHISE (MADDEN 2010)

I've been able to hold on to the Brazil job for about a year. Took over right before the 3rd place game of the Confed Cup and got destroyed by the Ivory Coast, but I've only lost one other time since then. They have lots of talent to mess with.Comment
