Can someone here suggest a team to play as? I cannot settle on one team and Villa is awful in this game, IMO.
    1) Load up the Data Editor
    2) Load your database
    3) Go to 'Tools' -> 'Free All Players'

Then save it as a different db ('Save as')!!! This is important so you don't loose your regular DB.

You now have a free-transfer database, where all players in the game are removed from their clubs, and you can build your 'dream team'. Enjoy.

      Finally got Pato from Milan.

Seemed to have had a great relationship with the big fat man, Rafa(who just went to Milan) and got him for $68M transfer fee.
Don't you EVER read my blog? It's gotten a lot better.

I took a break from my Liverpool save to start a Juventus save. In all the years I've played FM, I've never actually tried Serie A. Anyhow, I love Juve IRL so why not give them a shot.

I can't play in Italy. Can't stand having to deal with co-ownership.

Well the co-ownership took a while for me to figure out, but I actually did well.

I bought Zapata for about 8 million total, Alex Sanchez for 3 million, and Fiorillo for almost a million. I still have a ton of cash left over from my sales.

My Juve team is awesome - actually better than my Liverpool team in terms of all-round talent

              GK: Buffon/Fiorillo
              DR: Santon/Grycera
              DC:Zapata/Cannavaro
              DC: Chiellini/Mellberg
              DL: De Ceglie/Molinaro
              DMC: Sissoko/Melo/Marchisio
              MR: Sanchez/Marquinhos
              ML: Giovinco/Nedved
              MC: Diego/Del Piero
              FC: Amauri/Iaquinta
              FC: G. Rossi/Marquinhos

I also signed Macheda for my youth system. Running the table in Serie A so far heading into December.

Team USA about to start WCQ again, finished summer with finals loss to Mexico in Gold Cup with B team, and Semi-final loss in Confed Cup to Italy. Currently 2nd in WCQ behind Mexico, they are rocking in my game, beating everyone? Hopefull I have an answer for them.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***

I just finished up my 2nd season (1st full) in charge of Espanyol. I finished 9th (preseason prediction had me at 10th), with 2 places and 1 point separating me from a UEFA/Europa Cup spot. I had the 2nd leading scorer in the league in that of Jose Maria Callejon; he made huge improvements this season and was absolutely amazing to watch (he had 7 goals in his last 4 games, including a hattrick). I had a chance to make my way up the table, but I got hammered at Mallorca in the 2nd to last game of the season, 5-2, and a 5-1 thumping of Valladolid in the last game couldn't advance my position in the table to overtake Sevilla (8th), Betis (7th), or Getafe (6th). As for Serbia, I just beat Latvia 4-1 away. Earlier, I had a 1-0 result over Germany and a tough to swallow 2-1 defeat to the defending WC champions, Czech Republic. I'm sitting in 2nd in the Euro Qualifiers and look good for my money to qualify at the moment, even though there is a lot of footy to be played.

Here's a couple screenies of Callejon...

First game of the 2011/12 season is today (away at Valencia). Here's a rundown of my transfers, although Gregory Beranger (LB) is considering an offer from a French Ligue 1 side and will most likely leave for 2.4 million in the next day or two, so you can add that to the bank. However, because I only get 15% of the transfer revenue to use (!) I won't be doing much with that money. I had to get rid of Luis Garcia because he wanted a new challenge and wouldn't accept a new contract; I sold him for what I could get, although if I would've waited a little longer I probably could have gotten closer to 9 million for him.

EDIT/UPDATE: Just started up the Valencia game. A 30 yard pass from Busquets found Callejon for an easy finish, a record 22 SECONDS into the game. Great start to the year. Let's see if I can keep this up.

Read this thread enough, figured I'd post a few updates. In my 2nd season as Spurs, currently 3rd in the Prem behind the Gooners and Man U, above Chelsea by Goal Diff. Parachuted into the UEFA Cup after drawing Real Madrid and Juve in my CL group . Knocked out in the quarters of the League Cup by the Hammers, but just knocked of Cardiff in the 3rd round of the FA cup.

Big move in the summer was for Giuseppe Rossi, guy cost a boatload of cash, but he's worth it so far. Also signed Frazier Campbell and Cattermole as rotation players, both have also proved reasonably effective. Got Veloso and Moutinho in the first summer, doing all I can to hold onto them, Modric, and Corluka, although I did just get Veloso happy enough to sign a new deal today. Team is gelling pretty well in the second season, trying to just keep everyone together at this point, not make any major moves.

Amazing how much better they play once they've been together a while, so I'm doing all I can to lock everyone down long-term.

And wow, 10-1. Biggest win I've ever had in a competitive game is 6-1, and that was painful to watch as the winner.

...and to think at one point I was losing 1-0. I really thought there for the first ~20 minutes that I was going to lose to effing Armenia who had conceded 30 goals in their last 6 games.

I'm into February with QPR, aside from Pato, I just signed a bunch of youngster for the future.

Struggled early o,n dropping points from the lead late in games, but have since got on a roll, currently 1 point out of first.
