I haven't played too many games, but I am noticing that wide players, especially wing backs, dominate games. I almost feel like the full backs have to be tuned down a little. Kieran Gibbs and Debuchy aren't bad players, but they are unstoppable in FM 15 lol

True, but you have to download the updates if you want things to be current. Like if you want the new kits. And I also downloaded new logos, as I was growing tired of the Shiny Logos I had used in years past.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Two things that are frustrating me:
1) The tactics screen is horrible. They've changed a simple process of picking players into something worse. The player roles aren't on the screen on the right anymore either.
2) The sheer amount of goals. In the first round of games with Portadown (Northern Irish Premier Division) there were 35 goals over 6 games. An average of nearly 6 goals per game. It's stupid.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I haven't played a single match yet. I've been too busy revamping Arsenal's coaching staff and messing with the new features.
Some notes:
You need to have two coaches per training category. If you have one (outside of goalkeeping), the coach's training workload will be heavy, and your players will complain that they aren't getting enough individual attention. With two coaches per category, the workload becomes average. This is a change from last year where one coach was enough for average. So this could be tricky on teams where you aren't allowed many coaches.
When making an offer for a transferred player, you now have the option to speak to the player first before speaking to his agent. This is a fantastic new addition, because now if the player doesn't have much interest in signing with your team, you can speak with him and try to change his mind.
Scouting is much improved. Now, if your coaches are unfamiliar with a player, he'll have a range of ratings. So a striker you are looking at might have 13-16 as his finishing rating. So that means your scout thinks he could be anywhere from 13 to 16, and to find out the actual number, you need to scout him more. In addition, there are now black stars in the star ratings. Those black stars show what your scout thinks a player could be in terms of skill and potential, but he is unsure and needs to scout the player more. I have found that how much more scouting needs to be done is either random or varies by player. Some some players, his actual skill and potential has been discovered after 1 week of scouting, whereas for other players, it takes multiple weeks of scouting. One thing is for sure, you definitely cannot rely on only report cards anymore.
And one nitpick in terms of Arsenal, The Ox is natural at MR and AMR, whereas at Arsenal in real life he plays exclusively on the left. He is accomplished at AML, but this should be reversed with his AMR. What this means is that the only natural AMLs Arsenal have are Cazorla and Podolski, so I now have to train Ox at AML since there is no room for him on the right.Comment

I also feel like it's going to give the skinning community some cool bases to jump off from.
One plus is that my backgrounds work straight out of the box.

I really like the skin, it just feels so confusing at times because it's such a radical departure from what we've have for the past few years.

That looks awesome. What backgrounds are you using?
Another great new feature I just encountered: When a player isn't interested in signing with you, you can ask one of your own squad to endorse the club to that player. I just tried this with Eder Alvarez Balanta, and he was convinced to join my team. It's really subtle changes like this that are really making the game enjoyable to me. But once the season starts and I encounter some of the match engine problems you all are complaining about, things might change.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
The black stars make scouting much harder. You can no longer just scout huge swaths of players and expect accurate results. But it's also much more realistic. I also like that they tell you the percentage a player has been scouted and how many more areas are yet to be discovered. And while CA is usually discovered on your first or second scouting spell, PA can sometimes take longer.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
When a position is accomplished it shouldn't need re-training because it's solid green right? I have played the Ox at AML many times and he's quite good.
Though he will probably get injured along with half of the squad.GT:jb12780
