Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Beat Bolton to advance past the 3rd round of the FA Cup. Drew Fulham.
Edit: And I just saw something I've never seen before. A ball that crossed the line and should have been an Arsenal goal, but the ref didn't give the goal. Wilshere picked up a yellow for arguing. It was cool, but so much for goal line technology....Attached FilesLast edited by rsnomar05; 11-06-2014, 10:14 PM.Comment

14 goals and 3 assists in 19 apps with a 7.32 average rating. But note that 7 of those apps have been as a substitute on or after the 60th minute, which is always going to lower his average rating and goal totals. He has also been increasing his attributes at a rapid pace.
So he's been an amazing signing. He makes great runs, thanks to his pace and off the ball ability, and most importantly gets goals. I recommend Paco to anyone looking for a striker. He'll cost from 20-30 mil USD (he cost me 22 mil), and he'll ask for around 6.3 mil USD per year, but for a 20 year old wonderkid, that's totally worth it.
Welbeck has 17 goals and 8 assists in 26 apps (six as a substitute), so I didn't need Paco, but selling Giroud and buying Paco in his place has been my best signing so far.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Someone needs to give me some tips on how to beat Man City, I swear.
That's just legitimately embarrassing. Even the reporters are starting to comment on how mad I am about this.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
the best i can do for you is you should start scoring more goals for them.
Starting as unemployed, ended up at Real Union(FM13's first unemployed job), already up with 2 wins in 2 games, and none of the aforementioned atrocious defending. For as frustrating as this game is, I can't get away from it.Support Local Sports

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
How are you approaching each match? If I were getting dominated by a team consistently I would try and play with a DM and a counter attacking focus. Hope to frustrate them defensively and nab a goal on the break. So that's what I would do.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I play with a DM every single match. Most of my matches against Man City I have been played a counter-style defense with the D-line pushed back to help defend against their heavy attack style. Eh, I'll keep trying things.Comment

Got two away goals vs. Newcastle in the COC Semifinal Leg 1. I'm now in good position for the home match.Attached FilesComment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Something really weird just happened when I started the game tonight.
I clicked on the downloads thing to see what they had on the other tab for it (they added a tab I guess, to a download list of add-on type things, not just a micro-transaction menu) and when I brought it up it defaulted to the In-Game Editor tab of the MT menu.
It said "Already purchased." I never purchased it. I checked my Steam wallet to make sure no money came out of it, and nope. Same amount was in there as before. I'm really confused about this. Oh well, I don't use it so hopefully it doesn't draw the money out later. Saving that small amount of cash for Valkyria Chronicles soon haha.badComment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I beat Fulham handily to advance past the 4th round of the FA Cup. I drew Newcastle for the 5th round, who I am currently playing in the COC semis. By the time the tie is over I'm going to be an expert on playing Newcastle. Twice in the league, twice in the COC semis, once in the FA Cup.Attached FilesLast edited by rsnomar05; 11-07-2014, 02:28 PM.Comment

And I'm through to the COC final. I play Liverpool, so it won't be easy.Attached FilesComment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I still keep reading about this match engine being broken and defending being useless. I always start as a conference north team in England, and if lower leagues has 8-6 games, no way in forking out for this. I still play as Harrogate on FM13, and look like I will until at least the new year.
Can anyone shed any more light? And this injury thing scares me too. When you get to league 1 level, and still have 0 money I can't be losing players left and right. I have to ability to sign more, and the ones I've kept with me aren't good enough to trot out week after week!
