Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
2011
I continue as Team USA coach, got friendlies up to GoldCup.
Decided newly promoted team in Austrian Premier was not the way to start in Europe and quit and waited for opportunity to open up in states. End of 2010 I kicked Bob Bradley out of another job and took over Chicago Fire in MLS. They lost in Semi Final in MLS Playoffs so I guess ownership wasnt happy and liked I showed interest in job and offered. Went through MLS draft and currently going through transfers mand will show team shortly, need to win it all first year!!Comment

Fabregas is ****ing reckless for me right now. 3 red cards in the span of like a month. He gets red cards in his first games back in action after suspension.Blind to this impending fate

I think I'm about to get sacked...
I'm less than a month away from the end of my contract and no offer has been given. There are reports that I'm not getting rehired and that the board was displeased that I didn't crack the top 4 in two freakin years.Too Old To Game Club

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Just finished year 2 with Spurs, pretty successful campaign. 3rd in the league behind winners Arsenal and Chelsea. Chelsea topped me the last day of the season, but no complaints about 3rd: Back in the Group Stage of the CL, which means more $$$. Probably could have placed higher if the defence could have stayed healthy (why does that sound familiar...).
Knocked out in the semis of the FA Cup by City, who seem to have my number. Too many guys with too much pace, think I need to look at my tactics against them.
Pavlyuchenko was probably player of the year for me over Rossi. 19 goals in the league, 24 overall, and that was in only 38 games due to rotation. Placed second in Footballer of the Year behind Ronaldo.
Plan for next season is to:
a) Keep everyone I can. Modric, Corluka, and Bale were all unhappy during the season, mostly wanting to head to United. Then United finished 5th in the league, out of the CL, and they all suddenly seem happy where they areProbably burn a few mil in signing bonuses extending them all.
b) Look at strengthening the CB position. Didn't allow too many goals total during the year, but the D just seemed to fail me when it mattered most. I was chopping and changing almost every game with the injuries, which can't have helped. Probably look for one elite CB to pair with Corluka for most games (play Hutton on the right, as he's better going forward), and for games where I want to lock it down, play Corluka on the right and bring in Woodgate. I have lots of decent CBs (King is still pretty good, and no complaints about Dawson as cover), but I really want to find a top-notch player that can stay healthy and solidify the back line, then unload one of the above (I'm thinking King, he just can't stay on the pitch). Probably won't finish the off season for a couple of days, so I'll take any suggestions people have.PSN: TheEnglishHombreComment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Started a throw-away game with Canada just to kill time until the transfer window closes. I've actually enjoyed it, despite the limited control of being an international manager. Third place in the Gold Cup, knocking Mexico out in the Quarter Finals. Just finished off Costa Rica to guarantee a place in the World Cup. I'd just like to score one goal, if anything.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
With the transfer window closed, most new database updates are out today. I've heard there are some big moves missed with the fmweegie update, but I haven't downloaded it myself. I think I'm going to give another update a test, FM Update v7 I've heard good things about.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Won my sixth straight title, and my first Treble, winning the Carling Cup/Champions League.
Gonna play one more season with this save before switching to a new updated database, and Manchester United.
Sold off Pato, Mario Balotelli, and Toni Kross, I'm finally going to give my youngsters a chance to hopefully shine.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Rolfe I Transfered, other guys were already gone I guess? will check, maybe moved to bigger league? not sure. I did not take team over till 2011 so who knows. got friendlies coming up, to see who wants starting jobs, but plan on rotation system anyways for most positions. I always seems to have alot of injuries, anyway to help this?Comment
