Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
My 23 game unbeaten streak in the league was broken by 20th place Norwich managed by Gareth Bale. This game....
In the same group with Hungary, Poland, and Germany in the Euros. Not good, not bad.Last edited by Kobalt; 08-17-2015, 01:11 AM.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Summer transfer period is over. Made a couple signings, but that's not the important part. The important part is I managed to keep my core together. Juventus made strong runs at both my starting center backs, but thankfully, both were happy to stay at Schalke.
I'm picked to finish 3rd in the Bundesliga with 6-1 title odds. Favorite is Bayern at 4-5 odds. Defending champion Leverkusen picked to finish second at 3-1 odds.Last edited by jasontoddwhitt; 08-17-2015, 06:45 PM.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I almost got FM'd
Up 4-1, Copenhagen score in the 89th and 90th minute, making it 4-3 very quickly, thankfully a fluke set piece goal(I won't pretend it was good) sealed the 5-3 victory, but I was ready to curse FM.Support Local Sports

FM's all like, hey you've been doing really well lately, so we'll be making all of your wingers get injured
my striker signed for Arsenal during the spring season, he'll be back on loan next year but this was his final game as a full-fledged member of my squad.
a five goal send off against some rivals, gonna miss this guy.Last edited by Suntan Superman; 08-19-2015, 05:31 AM.Support Local Sports

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
So I face a bit of a dilemma. I have a fairly small first team (but an insane amount of good youth who I have been giving appearances here and there). League, cup, and Champions League is starting to take its toll. I did qualify for the knockout stages with a game in hand, which is all the board are wanting. I find myself in second place in league, but it's going to be a tough fight to stay in Champions League qualification. Board wants me to make the cup final, and I passed a very tough test in the second round, beating rival Dortmund on the road.
Which brings the question, do I field a weakened team for the Champions League knockout stages so I can try my best to keep the squad fresh for the league and domestic cup?
Winter break can't come quick enough.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Made it to the Christmas break. I'm starting to get healthy, and except for a 5-0 drubbing by Atletico in the final Champions League group match because I played my C team, I closed out the first half on an eight game winning streak and the Bundesliga has turned into a two team race between myself and Bayern. I've scored the most goals so far, and given up the second fewest. It's going to be a crazy second half.
That is if I can make it through the minefield known as the transfer window. Again, bigger clubs are expressing interest in my starlets and they are all like "Please accept a bid if they bid!" I'll be curious if the board will free up some more money for a title chase with Bayern.
Meanwhile, my work at Rangers has been undone, as they have found themselves in a relegation fight this season.....really tempted to create another head coach and steer them to safety...again.
My right winger Andrija Zivkovic won the European Golden Boy. Purchased him for $4.1M from Milan. He has made 24 appearances, 9 goals, and 7 assists. His value is currently $20M. Thanks Milan.Last edited by jasontoddwhitt; 08-20-2015, 01:56 AM.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
At the end of last season, Bayern came in for an interview, they didnt like my philosophical suggestions, so they passed.
Fast Forward to this season, and they want another interview, I told them to **** off.
Also Madrid have come a calling.Comment
